Good morning Bitcoinland.

After last might's excitement we seem to be consolidating between $16k and $16.5k. Didn't quite make a new ATH... currently $16470USD/$21170CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Alts also up... old coins are worth $18143USD/$23320CAD each (Coinmarketcap).

First futures trading is in the books, a couple more exchanges to go. Things are looking good.

Go Bitcoin go.

So it looks like the drop to triple digits isn't going to happen tonight, go figure.

I thought it was single digits we were supposed to go down to.

Do y’all have your popcorn?

Going out to get some now. Don't forget lots of salt and butter.

Butter? Barely know 'er.  Grin

I think you might have missed something. This was about popcorn.

I thought it had more to do with liquor in the front and poker in the rear.  Grin

Meanwhile it looks like the second act night be starting.

Steak's almost done. Popcorn for dessert?

Having the fantasy is always more exciting than when it actually becomes reality.  Grin

No big deal, I'm not really all that much into popcorn anyway. Besides, the popcorn's just a figure of speech.

What I'm really chowing down to right now is a lovely 16 ounce wagyu striploin with baked potato, asparagus tips, parsnips, and sweet potato. And a glass of red, just a cheap french vin de table but nice nonetheless.

$45/lb for the wagyu but what the hell, I made a pisspot of money this week.

Good food is a good investment. Friends and health are far more valuable than money and good food is one of the cornerstones of good health. There is no healthier food than high quality meat.

Before and after:

Well this little show didn't last long, unless this is just an intermission.

Dropped a grand in anticipation, then started off with a bang, jumping back up a grand.

Now it seems we're right back where we started... the standard $15k. Talk about really quick, a premature ejaculation. Wham, bam, thank you ma'am.

Maybe there's more to come, but so far this has been underwhelming.

Someone ddos attack www.cboe.com or what? Website is down indefinitely.

Not surprised. It doesn't take much to bring down almost any "traditional" website not used to the Bitcoin crazy loads and attacks. I even have my doubts their ui/engine could sustain the massive number of users and style of trading of Bitcoin. This is gonna be fun.

Mainstream noobs.  Cheesy

Alright. This is what we were waiting for.

That popcorn is tasting quite fine.

mornin' Jimbo

Mornin' Jojo.

I just got a call from a friend who has played the stock market and PMs for decades. After watching my involvement with Bitcoin for a few years, he finally broke down and bought his first coins this summer. I think it was my earning my first million that woke him up. I helped him buy and set up a Trezor and taught him how to buy the dips and get the best prices at his local ATMs.

Needless to say, he's tickled pink at the return on his investment so far, even though it's still very tiny, less than a whole coin I believe.

Seems that now all his "financial advisors" are screaming for him to buy Bitcoin, citing Wall Street adoption. Now he's talking about calling his brokers and selling off a good portion of his stocks to buy more coins.

2 years ago his advisors were suggesting he buy Bitcoin and I suggested he listen to them, but instead he kept buying stocks and PMs. Every time he came over he'd be touting his most recent stock-du-jour while watching Bitcoin prices relentlessly rising and doing nothing.

Now he wants to dive in gung-ho. Go figure.  Roll Eyes

Good morning Bitcoinland. Missed yesterday due to internet connectivity issues. Both my landline and my mobile were down and I was forced to go out to restaurants/bars/coffeeshops just to check the price. Then I got to my gig last night to find out they don't have wifi.

Seems we had quite a day with some serious correction/panic before bouncing right back up over $15k.... currently $15308USD/$19669CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Old coins are currently worth $16861USD/21664CAD (Coinmarketcap).

Now that that's over with, we can start going back up again. Hopefully we'll see another ATH within a few days.

Go Bitcoin go.
2933  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 09, 2017, 03:40:28 AM
So who is considered an early adopter these days? Is it still people who bought in 2010, or is it now people who bought in 2012 or 2013? And dont give me that bull answer of we're all still early adopters.

I consider those in before June 2011 to be innovators and anyone from then until very recently to be early adopters.

We're just crossing over into the early mainstream phase.

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the notion that we're still somewhat early adopters, although the events of the last few weeks seem to indicate an increased awareness worldwide. Mainstream adoption is just beginning IMO.

There's no clear line, just an ongoing transition.

on a 1 minute chart of course

LOL   Grin

Sometimes you've gotta step back and look at the bigger picture. Then again, I'm an investor not a day-trader.

I tend to look at the 1 day candles, or the 15 minute candles for a close-up.

Sometimes I step right back and check out the weekly candles.
2935  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 09, 2017, 02:43:14 AM
Be honest. Are the MILFs the main reason you still play live music?

One of the reasons for sure, actually a very big one.

Other reasons are exercise and a deep love of music.

I also feel a responsibility to keeping live music (especially older stuff) alive.

I remember some 35 years ago seeing a group of old-timers, all in their 70s, playing music from the 1920s and '30s in a local bar.

I was blown away with how authentic it sounded, just like the old shellac 78RPM records. The drummer was especially amazing, sounded like Chick Webb or someone like that. Nobody drums like that anymore.

I told myself that some day I'd be treating some younger generation to what real rock-and-roll (I don't mean rock!) sounded like.

Now my time has come. I love it when the faces of the under-25-year-olds light up and they jump on the dance floor. There's an energy there that you don't get from records or DJs.

That's why I play bass. It's not about being heard. It's about being felt.

Finex: spike back up $300

Stamp: Continue dumping to new lows.

New lows?  Huh

Stamp was under $15k just 6 hours ago.

I mean, you live here and now, not hoping to blow myself up, hoping for 79 virgins. When you fcked them all, they are not virgins anymore, are they ?

Doesn't that deal also include unlimited "fresh" young boys?

If they can keep the boys fresh, maybe they can freshen up the virgins too. Maybe stitch on new hymens or something.

Personally I prefer experienced women who know what they're doing. Too much fumbling and angst with virgins.

Good thing too. At my age virgins are few and far between. Young stuff for me is what most here call milfs. Anything over 30 and before menopause is just dandy.  Cool

I like how the $13 000 level was simply omitted, after only one stop in the $12 000 level. we have never omitted a 1k step on stamp before. I wonder if we will ever see the omission of a 10k step. seems impossible. but... bitcoin.

Not only that, it was true across the board... 10k GBP, 11k EUR, 16k-18k CAD and 1.5m-1.7m JPY... all skipped over.

A truly amazing day.  Shocked
________

Here we go again, 7 jackpots in a row and even a couple more milestones... 15k USD and 1.9m JPY.

Not bad for a $3k correction day. Go Bitcoin go.
2939  Economy / Speculation / Re: When would the BTC bubble burst? on: December 09, 2017, 12:43:02 AM
I hope there is a nice crash soon so I can buy in once again.

You sold? My condolences.

When will people learn? Don't sell unless it's a total emergency.

Save up your fiat currency so that when there's a dip, you can buy more Bitcoin.

Don't waste your profits by squandering them on buying fiat. Take your profits in Bitcoin.
_____

Bubble? There's no bubble.

Don't believe everything you hear or read, especially in the MSM. Be especially skeptical of anything from bankers, investment "professionals" or others with a vested interest in Bitcoin failing.

Think for yourself.
2940  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 09, 2017, 12:29:37 AM
Another day done (UTC) and we finally got a red candle, albeit a fairly short one compared to the recent green ones.

We did however still have an ATH, just before the correction started and considering the good moderating aspect of the correction and how nicely we recovered from it, I'd call it a very good day.

No bubbles, no crash. Go Bitcoin go.
