Would you please stop saying Boomers built the internet? Seriously, the net they were building was 100% statist crap that would make you suck the dick of AT&T every morning in order for it to work at all. It was pure garbage.

Sounds like you prefer PRISM controlled data-mining sites like Instacrap, Twit-ter, Fussbook, etc.

Enjoy your centralization.
___

BTW, I wasn't even talking about content. I was talking about the actual nuts and bolts of the internet. Microprocessors, TCP/IP, HTML, etc.

Many younger users have no idea what's going on in their devices. It's like drivers who have to call a mechanic to change their oil.   Grin

Hate to break it to you but Jeff (Big Lebowski) Bridges was born in 1949, totally Boomer.

Perhaps you should replace him with a picture of Kim Kardashian, born in 1980, totally Generation X.

 Cool

how exactly have the boomers been fucking everyone over for 50 years?

social security

What exactly do Boomers have to do with social security?

I thought your comment odd so I googled American social security and found out that it dates back to long before the Boomers were born.

I understand that other generations like the GenXers and Millennials are jealous of the accomplishments of the Baby Boomers and seem to want to forget that it was the Boomers who largely gave them much of the lifestyle improvements of the late 20th and early 21st centuries like personal computers, the Internet, cell phones, racial integration, gender equality, tolerance of LGBT, etc.

The generation who gave you social security was the generation that gave you WW2, McCarthyism, the Military Industrial Complex... and the Baby Boom itself.

If anything, the Boomers are the biggest victims of social security. They dutifully paid large chunks of their paychecks into the system with the promise of a comfortable old age only to find that there weren't enough new contributors to keep the system afloat.

I was in my 20s when I figured out that I shouldn't expect to be supported by the government (or more accurately the taxpayers) in my old age. That was a half a century ago. I had enough sense to get off the employee, debtor, taxpayer treadmill and invest in people, knowledge and my own future.

Whining about Boomers won't do you any good when the shit hits the fan.

Good morning Bitcoinland. Greetings to all Wall Observers

(All Virus Observers too)

Nice to see we're back over $9k again... currently $9095USD/$12200CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Onward and upward!

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Sideways continues... currently $8752USD/$11670CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Same old same old.

America get ready for another round of your favorite presidential election game: Giant Douche vs. Turd Sandwich.

I generally try not to step in the domestic politics of other countries but this was too hard to resist.

Same old same old.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still waiting for the return of Vegeta... currently $8759USD/$11700CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Another day closer to the halving, another day closer to the moon of 2021.

The trouble with that is that it kills mostly the elderly and any elderlies smart enough to own Bitcoin are probably smart enough to have plans in place for the transfer of their coins to their heirs.

Then again, many of them might just be so sickened by their lazy self-indulgent heirs that they intentionally take their keys with them to the grave to donate them to the Greater Bitcoin Benevolent Foundation.

 Cool

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Up a wee... currently $8830USD/$11792CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Keep it coming.

Of course, i presented kind of a modernised representation. Didn't want to throw full hardcore at you, but i see i can't add anything of value for you now.
"I am that i am" is also the far better translation, forgive my sloppiness.  Angry

Corona is pre-skunked. It's bad enough here in Mexico where it's considered cerveza turista, but by the time it's traveled to other countries, it's pretty dismal.

Good morn Bitcoinland.
Have a nice haiku Sunday.
Still going sideways.

The current price is
Eight five six five US bucks
(Bitcoinaverage)

Go go Bitcoin go.
Go go Bitcoin go go go
Go Bitcoin go go.

- 38% of Americans wouldn't buy Corona beer because of the coronavirus.
I bought it because funny. But only once, now I won't buy it because it tastes like horse piss Sad

I've never tasted horse piss but I imagine it tastes like Corona. What do they expect when it's bottled in clear glass.

There's a reason why beer is bottled in brown glass (or at worst green) in most places. It cuts down on UV light and keeps beer from becoming prematurely skunky.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still waiting for springtime.

WO is a skeptical whiny pessimistic bunch with most popular prediction being less than 8K before 10K.

Skepticism is a mature objective quality. Pessimism is childish.  Cool

Good morning Bitcoinland.

It seems the battle for $10k has regressed back to the battle for $9k... currently $9040USD/$12005CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Here's a WO salute to all resolute HODLers.

It's over $9k!

You notice they didn't mention Bitcoin, just "crypto" and "blockchain".

When propaganda shills like Fox start spewing crap like this, it makes you wonder what's coming.

Horde coming sooner or later.

To what? The new Fiatcoin "crypto" currency? Fedcoin?

Good morn Bitcoinland.
The battle for ten thousand
Is continuing.

Up over ten grand
And then right back down again.
This calls for a shot.

Each coin's price is now
Nine nine zero six dollars
(Bitcoinaverage).

It would be so nice
To move on up but sadly
This could take some time.

First five syllables
Then seven and then five more
Are not haikus fun?

Why not require all women above 50 also have tubal ligation or otherwise render them infertile too?

That's not fair or  just. Men's period of fertility is much longer than women's.

If they want to sterilize men halfway through their breeding years, they should do the same to women, e.g. at the age of 30-35.

The whole argument is bullshit anyway. No one is demanding forced abortions. A more equitable argument would be to call for the banning of tubal ligation.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

The battle for $10k rages on. Now we're about halfway back after Wednesday's big dip... currently $9757USD/$12935CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

We're a month away from springtime (northern hemisphere) and the halving is only a few weeks after that. In the meantime, we can enjoy the show with contented anticipation.

Go Bitcoin go.

In any case, it was all acquired in 2012, so it's a few years before the crime was committed, and should not have been seized.

LOL

In most many places the cops simply take everything they find and don't report it. This includes cash, electronics, jewelry, personal items, anything the individual officers might fancy for themselves. There is no accountability.

Then later the official part begins where they seize bank accounts, real estate, automobiles, etc. This is where good lawyers might block or reverse the seizures. The onus is generally on the accused to prove the assets were acquired through legal channels.

The cops must be fuming over this one.    Cheesy

I think BTC is going to rise.

Look a ghost!

Someone hacked Risto's account?

Hmm there's only one way to know for sure, lets wait to see if it starts shilling monero again

Most of the Monero OG crowd might prefer he didn't speak for the coin, he disappeared under a cloud.  Last I saw anything about him was when the castle burned down around the time of rumours he'd gone off the rails...

I don't think anyone's heard from him since his castle burned down. I was wondering if he's still alive.

As for going off the rails, he was always somewhat "colorful". Obviously didn't GAF about opsec. Arrogantly flamboyant.  Cheesy
