2961  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is improving I guess? on: June 23, 2023, 03:08:22 PM
We are more likely to experience better end of the year, as of last two weeks Bitcoin was $23,000 but I can see some impressive changes hopefully the ends or mid of the year will make significant changes in price. Though am not excited much because  even if it pumps I might not enjoy the fat price, I bought when the price is high but now you will pity my wallet. Anyway we're sure of better 2023.

For some reason I thought this would be a thread about Bitcoin development or how the inscriptions have kicked up a wave of necessary development, but it’s just about the price. The price really doesn’t have anything to do with Bitcoin’s improvement or functionality at all, so I think what you mean is that the Bitcoin market is improving.
2962  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: June 23, 2023, 03:05:51 PM
Elon’s Mom wanting to cancel this fight before it’s set is pretty standard Mom behavior. Dana White seems to think that a fight in the UFC is possible and stated that he talked to both of them and they are serious. This all sounds a bit ridiculous to me and I think Elon’s lack of current training, age, and prior injuries give Zuck quite an advantage. I also don’t believe Elon is only 180 pounds. With his build at 6’1” he’s probably closer to 220.
2963  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 23, 2023, 06:21:15 AM
Looking like there’s possibly going to be an official announcement tomorrow that Damian Lillard has been traded to the Heat for Anfernee Simmons and some draft picks. That’s what Woj is reporting anyway, which basically means it is a done deal. Damian has already said he’s winning an MVP playing alongside Jimmy Butler.
2964  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why do you still want to play fake web2 casinos? Why we choose web3 casinos on: June 23, 2023, 03:50:55 AM
I feel like if something goes wrong with a “web2” casino, it’s an established process where they are responsible for any lost funds due to hacks or whatever. With a web3 casino I feel like if something goes wrong then they would point to the nature of web3 and say that you wanted to be responsible for your own funds. I’m all for being your own bank, but not every situation calls for it.
2965  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 23, 2023, 12:30:36 AM
Anyone else also watching the draft right now?  No shock seeing Victor Wembanyama going number one overall, of course..but it should be pretty exciting to see how these next few picks play out.  There's some great players in this draft outside of Victor!

I am wondering if my Chicago Bulls are going to try and pull anything off tonight.  There's been some talk of them trading Zach Lavine tonight for a high pick.  They seem to be in no mans land right now, so I think I'm okay with that to be honest.

Wemby is the only prospect I’ve heard of. I think after the covid nonsense I sort of lost track of the new young guys coming up. I will say that I’m not one of the guys who thinks Wemby will make an impact in the league. I think he’ll be like all the other unicorns before him and fail to injuries before he gets a body that can bang with NBA players in the paint.
2966  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] S17 Pro - 0.02 BTC obo on: June 22, 2023, 09:28:43 PM
I’m still accepting offers for this piece of hardware. Feel free to contact me with any questions or offers. I am hoping to find a buyer willing to pay in bitcoins and avoid the typical auctions and marketplaces, but it’s starting to feel like I might need to go that route. If you are looking for an s17 then hit me up.
2967  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I strongly suspect a sinister move here. You? on: June 22, 2023, 09:22:38 PM
I strongly suspect a sinister move here. It is the government subtly trying to take over and be in control of Bitcoin. We are seeing big asset management companies and financial institutions suddenly getting involved with Bitcoin, which is partly the reason why there is a pump in the price of Bitcoin. They are applying for ETFs, and some others are coming together to create an exchange. The latest development is Crédit Agricole's CACEIS gaining Crypto Custody Registration in France. Why are all these things happening almost at the same time when Binance is being grilled by governments in different countries? Do not be carried away by all of this; it's the government's attempt to gain control of Bitcoin because, for all I care, these financial institutions with trillions of dollars are controlled by the government. They are the government.

It isn’t surprising that big banks are utilizing their paid for politicians to use government agencies to attack established players in the market in order to open up buying opportunities for themselves to enter and take control. This is what I think we’re seeing and that is why it is important to hang on to your coins right now. Don’t let them get your coins for cheap.
2968  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will bitcoin influence the next U.S election? on: June 22, 2023, 09:19:58 PM
I don’t think Bitcoin is large enough or popular enough yet to make any sort of impact on the Presidential election. However, I do think that candidates who are looking for a small boost in the polls will be looking at communities like Bitcoin as a way to gain a little support by mentioning them and appearing friendly.
2969  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 22, 2023, 09:16:34 PM
Khris Middleton just declined his $40,000,000 player option for the coming year. I’m not sure what he’s thinking… He only got that much because they needed a good player to run with Giannis and nobody else wanted to play for the Bucks. I get that Khris wants to secure a long term payday, but I think he may regret passing up that 40 million.
2970  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC 100K FOR 2024 ! on: June 22, 2023, 07:44:58 PM
I don’t think we see a six figure Bitcoin price until 2025, but who knows given the last cycle was held down with manipulation from FTX. If we do see a six figure BTC in 2024, then I would expect 2025 to have an absolutely insane blow off top near the $800K range. I think a more sensible prediction would be $60K in 2024 & $200K in 2025.
2971  Economy / Gambling / Re: Enough to consider a casino scam? on: June 22, 2023, 07:35:03 PM
Whether or not a casino is a scam is something that is typical users can’t really do much about. The best thing you can do is try to use reputable service providers and as soon as you get a sense that something is off, get the hell away from it. I feel like online gambling is still a bit of a Wild West, so just try to protect yourself as best as possible to avoid getting into a bad situation.
2972  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 22, 2023, 07:32:28 PM
Chris Paul going to the Warriors as a backup for Steph Curry? I didn’t expect that. I guess CP3 thought that was his best chance at a ring. This to me means that Jordan Poole is done in Golden State. Crazy because I thought he would be next up, especially with Draymond rumored to be leaving the team this offseason. First surprise of the offseason…

Edit: Looks like Poole was in the trade. Checks out…
2973  Economy / Collectibles / Re: What do you guys think of the Golden Triumph paintings / prints? on: June 22, 2023, 05:04:24 PM
Not sure what to think of these....They could've done a better job for sure.

I have known about Peter Schiff and his love for gold....kinda surprised he has entered the cryptosphere.

He should've at least paid tribute to BTC somewhere in there!  Wink

Given the prices and big names on board, it looks like one of those things where influencers are given money and product to promote a brand for the sake of parting people from their BTC. Maybe I’m wrong, but so far all the Ordinals collections available don’t have any function other than looking pretty right? I wish the space would build something that did something. Community organizations that share proceeds with members have been around for more than a decade… That’s why this first round of tokens on the Bitcoin blockchain feel like nothing more than a grift to me, but I do have high hopes for the future when someone makes an inscription that does anything.
2974  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Is it possible to read a private key under a hologram using an X-ray? on: June 22, 2023, 04:57:40 PM
This was something I took into account when engraving private keys into metal under a hologram. In order to combat against this, early coins I made using this technique were covered by an insulating piece to keep from metals reacting over time, then a thin piece of metal to make it so X-rays wouldn’t be able to determine the hidden private key. Eventually I phased this addition out because of time and additional cost, but the ultimate deciding factor was that it isn’t very difficult to remove and reattach holograms without damaging them as has been demonstrated repeatedly over time, so it’s good to remember that holograms are like door locks. They keep honest people honest.
2975  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 22, 2023, 04:54:34 PM
After this week’s monster move upward I’m a bit surprised we’re still holding near $30K. Barely a pullback at all from traders cashing in gains. This shows that the coins being scooped up are being held, likely by big banks, and likely to put in their funds that they will offer to investors. This could potentially be the most bullish phase of crypto, but also likely the most dangerous.
2976  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you cheat in gambling? on: June 22, 2023, 04:52:02 PM
As a morally upright person that does not like to cheat people, but gambles and has lost a lot of money to gambling in a casino where you have sometimes been cheated even without your knowledge or betting on sports, will you take an opportunity you get and go against your moral standards to cheat a casino or sportsbetting place, just so you can win big at least even once.

Will you try a trick to win on casino game machines if you were told and it is a 100% working trick to cash out? Will you bet on fixed games if you get the tip early?

There is always risk involved in anything. I’m sure even fixed games don’t go the right way all of the time. Same with commonly used strategies and exploits. If I found an advantage and it was legal, I would certainly use it. If it were an obvious bug I would even probably report it once I was convinced I had found an exploit. I think that would likely be appreciated.
2977  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Still Gamble? on: June 22, 2023, 04:35:40 AM
Someone once told me that the lottery was a tax on people who were bad at math. It’s a bit ironic that the proceeds go to schools. Anyway, I think those who gamble to win money are a victim of the same circumstance. However, if you gamble to have fun, you can’t lose. Remember that in the end it’s about entertainment.
2978  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 21, 2023, 11:55:14 PM
A huge day for crypto. I’m seeing a lot of 10%+ gains out there and a big day for Bitcoin as well. I feel like this rally has some legs. There aren’t many more crypto entities for the government to attack, so we’re left with fewer worries as all eyes turn to mtgox. I think once that distribution is made, we’re likely to see the start of a massive bull run.
2979  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Casinos Go Bankrupt Because of Player Wins? on: June 21, 2023, 04:53:04 PM
Is it possible for a casino to go bankrupt because a player gets a very big win?

I think maybe that's hard to happen if we look at casinos that are already big and well known. But suppose there is a new casino, and there are some players who are very good at playing, so they can win continuously, can the casino go bankrupt? or do they already have an algorithm or a way so players can't keep winning?

If you’re talking about online casinos, most of them are basically middlemen for larger gambling companies and just take a cut of the bet, so they don’t care one way or another if you win or lose. If you’re talking about large physical casinos, they have so much debt already, players winning huge amounts is barely a drop in the bucket.
2980  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's really scary about artificial intelligence? on: June 21, 2023, 01:55:37 PM
I think with everyone’s reliance on social media and lack of using things like cryptography to ensure their identities, AI will be able to overwhelm platforms with misinformation, scam attempts, and impersonations to the point that people won’t be able to trust anything or anyone they see online. Events could be faked, relationships, even history could be altered at a scale where humans are powerless to fight all the disinformation. I honestly don’t think we have a chance against it, but this is a problem for the next generation.
