303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in a newly project is worth it or not ? on: March 06, 2024, 05:45:02 PM
Is this project similar to GRAM mining? If this shitcoin has a chance to repeat the success of other similar projects, then make an announcement in mining about how you can mine this coin. I don’t want to buy such coins, but perhaps I will be interested in spending 1-2 weeks on mining.
304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi hacks [history] on: March 06, 2024, 05:32:05 PM
WOOFi Lost $8 Million in Hack on Its Arbitrum Lending Market

"WOOFi, a decentralized exchange, suffered significant financial losses due to an exploit in its Arbitrum lending market, as revealed by the company on Wednesday.

The exploit, identified by several blockchain security firms, including PeckShield, Hypernative, and Chainalysis, involved flash loan attacks targeting WOOFi Swap on Arbitrum around 15:49 UTC on March 5.
In response, WOOFi swiftly halted the affected contracts at approximately 16:02 UTC and initiated an investigation revealed in a report detailing the incident, which was subsequently released on March 6.

The hacker manipulated the sPMM algorithm, which is responsible for setting prices on Arbitrum-based WOOFiSwaps. This manipulation occurred after borrowing 7.7 million WOO tokens and “some other assets.”

The company stated, “At this point WOOFi’s sPMM incorrectly adjusted WOO to an extreme price which was close to zero, and the exploiter then swapped out 10M WOO in the same transaction with almost no cost. The exploiter repeated this attack 3 times within a very short period of time, which netted about $8.75m in profits after returning the flash loans.”"

Intel has just shown off what is easily the best unboxing video ever, with ASML's new bleeding-edge Twinscan EXE:500 High-NA EUV lithography machine reaching its Oregon fab, a machine worth $380 million, and one of the most advanced machines on the planet. Check it out:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PCtf1ONYMU&ab_channel=IntelNewsroom
ASML's new Twinscan EXE:500 High-NA EUV lithography machine was transported from The Netherlands to Portland, Oregon, USA in a cargo plane. A truck then picked it up and delivered the $380 million machine, which will require 250 ASML and Intel engineers -- and around 6 months -- to install the machine completely. The system required 250 crates to transport the machine, weighing around 330,000 pounds. It's huge, and it's heavy.

Once the Twinscan EXE:500 High-NA EUV lithography machine is fully assembled, the job isn't over for ASML and Intel engineers, as they'll need to calibrate the machine which could take a couple of months. Once this is done, Intel can achieve its "First Light" milestone, something ASML just reached with its High-NA EUV machine in Veldhofen, the Netherlands, just recently.

308  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Where do large mining companies send old ASICs? on: March 06, 2024, 02:23:10 PM
Mining companies buy electricity in volumes up to the consumption of a certain amount of power every month. These prices take into account seasonal price changes. I don’t think it’s possible to conclude such an agreement for several months. And it takes time to connect large capacities for mining.
I do not think that this is what is happening now. This data was correct when most of Bitcoin was mined in China, and at that time miners used to transport mining equipment to Sichuan during the rainy season, and when energy prices rose again, they returned to coal-based generation. Things have changed a lot and no. I wonder if there is a country that currently has this feature.
Problems associated with transporting equipment create many problems. For example, after moving, 20-30% of my equipment does not work and I have to assemble and disassemble, clean and then monitor the correct operation of the mining equipment.

The issue is that this card is a complete pc basically so the bios i got is not the vga bios its the whole pc one, i saw the functions for pstates ( i think the cpu ones ) can be unlocked and some overclocking, but since i dont have modding experience i cant do it. I tried using a modding tool called amibcp i unlocked all the functions within it but when i flashed the bios back it brivke the card, luckily i have an external programmer so i flashed the original back and it works again.
It’s very good to have a programmer for BIOS chips Smiley
This video card has an interesting history and production was not widespread, so you need to wait for an enthusiast who will overclock the BIOS and also make this information publicly available.

Important news on Discord
"Hi all
It is with deep regret that we have to inform you that one of the founders of our GPN project, known to us as G, has disappeared. In addition, more than $50,000 was stolen.

We all work together on the basis of complete trust and there is no way we could have foreseen this situation. Unfortunately, we were unable to contact G after the withdrawal and we still do not know the exact reason for his disappearance. Perhaps the funds were vital to him.

This news came as an unpleasant surprise to us, but we want to assure you that our responsibility for the project remains unchanged.

We are forced to continue raising funds by adding the developer's share received from each new block, which consists of a development fund and developer salaries. Thus, the MEXC listed fund will receive 49% of the daily issuance. Funds withheld from GameFund will be treated as a loan.

After listing on the MEXC exchange, we will begin to burn the developers' share until the loan amount is repaid in full. Combustion processes will be announced later.

We have some assets in the development fund, both GPN and USDT. However, using them to cover losses will be irrational, since this will not cover even a significant part of the losses. Thus, these funds will only be used to maintain the operation of servers and equipment, while the developer's shares will be burned.

We are conducting a security audit now and in the next few days.

We will have to launch additional rounds of over-the-counter sales to recover the USD amount. We will announce new rounds of OTC sales at a later date."

It is said that AMD will release three parts, namely Ryzen 9 7900, Ryzen 7 7700 and Ryzen 5 7600 SKU. The main difference between those parts and existing models is limited default power, likely from 170W to 65W.

Not only Russia, but in some seasons of the year, such as the flood season, electricity may be much cheaper, but it is rare to find someone who buys it in large quantities.
Mining companies buy electricity in volumes up to the consumption of a certain amount of power every month. These prices take into account seasonal price changes. I don’t think it’s possible to conclude such an agreement for several months. And it takes time to connect large capacities for mining.

319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Video card sales market statistics on: March 01, 2024, 02:36:12 PM
Jon Peddie Research experts estimate that by the end of the fourth quarter of 2023, 76.2 million video cards were shipped to the PC market. That's up 6% on a sequential basis and 20% up on an annual basis. Processor shipments in the PC segment generally grew by 24% year-on-year, which is the maximum in 25 years.
According to the study's authors, between 2024 and 2026 inclusive, GPU shipments will increase at an average annual rate of 3.6%, with nearly 5 billion GPUs in use worldwide by the end of the forecast period. In the PC segment, in the next five years, up to 30% of all systems will be equipped with discrete graphics processors.
