The target time is 10 minutes. The graphics is wrong, it was created by somebody else and there was a slight misunderstanding when it was created. Will fix OP. I like the 15 mins or longer block time. Credits is in distribute stage, it will not be used widely for some time. So the block confirmation time is not important. Longer block time/fewer blocks will save disk space and reduce orphan. The block size is larger than bitcoin because we have at least two entries each block. Maybe we can increase the block time to 30 mins or longer first, then reduce the block time gradually to coincide the adoption/use and improvement of computing speed and bandwidth. We can reduce the block time to 30S or shorter eventually. We can adjust the reward accordingly so that it is similar to original emission plan.

Soon some smart traders will make a lot of money out of this crisis! yeah finally, the bitcoin market is moving and for better prices. it is after a long stable price at $220 for months. Hope the price will be stable around $290 for the next 5 months.

Yes bitcoin will reach 1000$ price mark again in end of this year 2015 or start of year 2016, it may hit upto 2000$ when block rewards halves
I shall increase the year by 1 or 2.

Chinese turn into Litecoin already, but not Bitcoin!
Litecoin mining is controlled by the ASIC miner manufacturers. There is no actual use of the coin. More adoption is needed.

Any rumors?
Have not heard of .

most people who have big money didnt get it by being stupid if any whales are entering the market i would imagine they would acquire their coins slowly in this fashion to get the required amount without creating a massive splash and crashing the price up to 4 digits
If these whales just want to invest, then they will buy slowly without affecting the price.

The Chinese have the biggest part at the moment in mining. If they choose to stop, nothing will get messy, it might take some time before the mining power is up to par again and the difficulty is reset to the new amount of hashing power available. No need to worry at all.
no need to worry? it's not that easy. especially since china is good for around 50% of the total hash power. if they stop, bitcoin will get less safe and will suffer much easier from a 51% attack. it will have a very bad impact on the price as well. If they stop completely, the remaining hash power is still very large, larger than 12 months ago.

Just pay 0.0001 per kb and you are fine. I am sick of these people complaining their tx is stuck. Just follow the bitcoin core policy and pay 0.0001 per kb. Time for alternativ client developers to adjust their fee settings.
Just tried it, tx got confirmed within 1 block.
That is right. I always pay the right amount of fee and get confirmation quickly.

I think the interest is the same for 10 or 20 btc.

Bitcoin price raised up to $1200 and it's starting to go down again, i would sell all my bitcoin to gain max profit.
What if the price just go down to $1150, will you buy again?

Some times, when I close the wallet, it will take for ever for the "wallet warning window" (warns me not to shut down the Windows while exiting) to disappear or not disappear at all. I have to end the process with Windows task manager.

It could touch $280 in the next two weeks. However, it does not matter for the long term price.
Yeah, because "for the long term price" bitcoin will eventually crash! Bears are becoming rare and desperate in these parts. I meant the price will be higher if bitcoin gets used more.

If a Grexit sparks a domino effect crisis in the EU it could spark off bank runs in many countries which could result in huge adoption of Bitcoin very quickly. When nobody can trust their own banks Bitcoin will suddenly be very attractive to shops, businesses, and customers. $1,000 is easily achievable if people start using it in shops more than bank cards.
Majority use of bitcoin will be online shopping, not daily shopping in supermarkets or cafe shops until the 0 confirmation problem is resolved. So far, I only used it in online shopping.

it would be clever to roll some of the gains ( 25-50% ) back into XMR in the 0.50 USD neighborhood.
Do you see XMR getting a slingshot effect from the current rally of 1st gen altcoins (LTC/NMC/PPC etc)? The cost of generating XMR is almost 0 for come server administrators and botnet operators. They will dump at any price.

it is a bit strage that we are advancing so slowly buy building solid floors each time, it's like there is soemone with big money in play, that is helping this to become reality
he want to see bitcoin rise but he cannot build a strong pump in one session, hence he decided to increase the price in a more intelligent way, without arousing suspicion
a quick pump to high levels are over. it is basically whale throwing in a lot money to initiate the pump, and others benefit by selling it down to previous levels. slow rise is always better. I also like slow rise.

I think it will be over $1,000 within two years.
so what is the reason you say that, I prefer to think 3-5 years to come bitcoin reached $ 1,000 but anything can happen in the near future That is just a gestminate. I am happy with 25% a year rise. However, more adoption can make $1,000 within two years.
|
|
|
Seriously at the moment i never mind of the price lol. It has been a time that the price is low, and we really expect a higher price than now. Everyone wants to be cheaper but there are some that want higher Slow rise is fine with me.

stop waiting for bitcoin to take off. these times are over. be happy with a slower but stable year on year growth instead of a temporarily peak. we're done with that.
If there were 7 Billion Bitcoins, I'd say you might be right. But there's only gonna be 21 Million of these suckers, and nations are still unsure on how to deal with it. Trust me when I say that the party is just beginning The total number of bitcoin is irrelevant. bitcoin is dividable. I like slow rise, 25% (or a rate corresponding to adoption) a year is fine with me.
