321  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Now I want my transaction to be ignored/discarded... what are my chances? on: April 26, 2017, 01:34:29 PM
For all the complaints of transactions taking forever to be confirmed, occasionally I'll see my transaction to purchase commodity, X using btc,  unconfirmed for ... let's see about 36 hrs, now. And the price of BTC has gone higher.

So actually, it would be better if the transaction DIDN'T eventually get picked up.... so I can start the transaction over at a rate more favorable to me, the btc holder.

So, what are the chances of the transaction being discarded or cancelled or whatever and the btc being returned? Is that even possible in the Bitcoin network?

Thanks

Hey bitterbug, don't you think it is unfair regarding to the trader? I guess you had agreed upon the price before actual BCT sending (question is whether you agreed on price in fiat or BTC) and to me such practice of adjusting the amount according latest price jump is not good. Nobody would ever trade anything because everybody would always complain about (buyers when the price goes up, sellers when the price goes down).

So I think you should contact the seller and inform him prior doing this.
In addition this is mostly your fault ( evidently you have used small fee ) so be a man and accept it as is, unfortunately you spent your BTC in wrong time.

Some wallets ( like electrum) has feature replace-by-fee (you need to activate it prior sending the BTC ... then in case of stuck transaction the wallet will allow you to raise the fee to speed up the transaction. Guess it is too late for this option, just note it for next time.

322  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] PC game 'For Honor' or 'Ghost Recon:Wildlands' (uplay coupon) on: April 26, 2017, 10:01:00 AM
Got this coupon with new nvidia GPU. I'm not playing games so if anybody interested let me know.
You can choose between For Honor and Ghost Recon:Wildlands (coupon is valid till 6-2017).

I have no experience with uplay (not sure if the coupon is linked to purchased GPU). Instructions says you need to activate it using geforce experience ( listed are GPUs GTX 1060, 1070 & 1080 ) and then download via uplay.

Looking for 0.02 BTC or give me your offer.

I guess nobody is going to escrow this but if so I'll accept. Could eventually send the code first if you are trusted member.
While the code isn't linked to the purchased graphics card, it requires nVidia geForce Experience to redeem, and it will check to see if you have a qualifying graphics card before issuing a uplay redemption code, if you have a 1070 or 1080 it'll work no problem, otherwise it will need someone WITH one of those, to enter the nvidia code, and give you the subsequent uplay one.

Well, thanks for info. I'll update the OP.

ZEC, LBRY, Lyra2REv2 and Blake2s are great to mine with Nvidia

True, I agree with ZEC, LBRY and Lyra2REv2.
324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BAIKAL EU new and improved on: April 25, 2017, 11:57:44 PM
Like we said, we fully understand any concern.

We are at this moment not able to update our original website, as we do not have access. That also is true for our email, and other accounts along with our bitcointalk forum account. We do not have any other way of proving.

We are using our EU based services now, as this is the only account we have access to at the moment. Our who-is records do not match up because baikalminer.eu is registered from Sweden.

If you recieve any shady emails, please do not respond to them as we do not have access of our email.
Stop this BULLSHIT. Let the original baikal member to reply in this thread or GTFO.

It's a shame that I can't place an order due to lack of trust.

So much scamming going on, I don't know what is real and what is not at the moment.
Agree shame it is.
Definitely this one is not real. I guess any new reseller is a scamer. Why would they establish reseler while there is actual shortage of their goods? Currently they accept pre-orders.
325  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you prefer 100% or 150% Welcome bonus ? on: April 25, 2017, 11:27:41 PM
Do you prefer 100% or 150% Welcome bonus on the casinos ?

I prefer 250% thanks. Where to sign up?
Now seriously, as already posted above. Provide us more details. Under what conditions we can withdraw?
326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BAIKAL EU new and improved on: April 25, 2017, 10:53:13 PM
SCAM ALERT.

Something does not add up when I compare these two domain who-is records.

These are the official Baikal web page www.baikalminer.com records.
http://whois.domaintools.com/baikalminer.com

These are (very possible a scam) web page baikalminer.eu records.
http://whois.domaintools.com/baikalminer.eu

You need to authenticate this EU thing.
Why is there no info at the official web page www.baikalminer.com ?

Hey man, you are wrong. The correct baikal is the one with www
Edit: (now it's corrected)
At least as far as I know ( after reading through all the mess ).... their FB page is https://www.facebook.com/baikalmineryylee
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BAIKAL EU new and improved on: April 25, 2017, 10:45:40 PM
Umm no.  Website isn't down.  Only one email address that we know if is not setup at the new email hosting service.  Sounds like scam.

That is correct, our website is not down at the moment, but we are facing major issues with our security on our site, email, and even on the forums. We do not know exactly what the source is, but we are doing our best to figure it out as soon as possible. At the moment, this was our only option.
SCAM ALERT.

We fully understand your concerns and awareness and to regain to our full system along with the accounts. Until then, this is our only option.

Your English suddenly got a whole lot better......

Yeah, and he is awake early ... it's 6.45 China time.  So maybe EU deputy, but it's 00.45 in EU ....  so what the hell?

@OP
This is very shady. We all know the baikal is hot stuff and is attracting many scamers.
Just let the true baikal member to confirm your claims ( true baikal is https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=842337 )

Let him post here confirmation and we can continue.

329  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: i was looking to buy a AntMiner S9 but? on: April 25, 2017, 06:33:01 PM
I get free electric at work so my rig will be in my office LoL
So should i build a mining rig VS Altminer S9?
I have about 3K to spend maybe 4k max
I am not trying to get rich I have a business for that LoL

thx
steve

S9 is very loud ... +70dB ... you don't want to have it in the office while working.
GPU rig is more versatile but it can happen you'll be mining coin which can crash (not probable but possible)

so I think the rig is better option for you
330  Other / Meta / Re: Any way to get my old account back? on: April 25, 2017, 05:55:53 PM
My main account, calaber24p,  was hacked about a year ago and I have been trying to get it back since then, but found it near impossible. I have messaged theymos on reddit around 5 times (about once every month) in the last year, but he never responds. Has the forum had any change in ways to help recover my account, or am I still just shit out of luck? I can show the last post I made, I should only have 2 areas where the account was ever accessed ect. Things the person on the account wouldnt know.
Why didn't you PM him here???
Check https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

btw this kind of topic should be in meta section as well

332  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: New baikal miner Cube 300 Mhs for sale. on: April 25, 2017, 03:54:04 PM
But in our country I do not know about such a service.
Goods are shipped from EU.
Newbie indeed.

Escrow means:
1 - buyer sends BTC to third person ( trusted member of this forum )
2 - seller delivers the product to buyer
3 - BTC are send to seller once the buyer confirms he received the product

NO ESCROW = NO DEAL
NO PROOF OF OWNERSHIP = NO DEAL
333  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where to get reliable quality hosting on: April 25, 2017, 03:44:12 PM
I'm quite satisfied with sinohash (run by Eric Mu former HaoBTC member) .. check his thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1694162.0
Have there hosted S9 running almost month with only few outages ( in total would say around 10 hours during the month ) but it's bearable. I guess it is similar everywhere

What I like is the price  ... they want 43USD / month for S9 hosting.

What are the earnings like on your S9, though, and is he doing any reimbursement due to downtime? 10 hours per month seems like a fairly large amount -- almost half a day, or ~1.5% loss of earnings adds up quickly.

Single S9 earned 0.257 BTC (mining at kano since mar-31). Unfortunately the worst downtime was 5 days ago and to my luck the following days was very effective ( in number of found blocks). Just went through my payments and can estimate the total loss around 0.01 BTC ( so ~4% ). Well, that's a lot indeed.
No reimbursement as I did not ask for any. But I'm going to discuss it.

just switched around the plug and it works on 1 gpu so that is good. now 3 gpus seen on pc but 1 not so think dodgy riser?

Could be. Try to switch risers.
I see the MB has 4 pcie1x and 3 pcie16x. How did you connect your GPUS?
Maybe you need to apply short wire the one in pcie1x.

338  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Foxminers? on: April 24, 2017, 04:47:11 PM
So the C&D letter was supposedly from Sack Rosendin and his firm. I just called Sack Rosendin and he said he has no idea what I am talking about as his firm never had a client by the name of Foxminers LLC.

I am going to visit their los gatos headquarters today to dig up further as it is only 20 mins away from me.

Good job themerkle, but I don't think it's worth checking the place ... probably just some admin building where you can rent an office .. but it will be empty.

More interesting would be to turn their own weapons against them. As obviously they could have damaged reputation of the Sack Rosendin by claiming he's representing them.  Isn't that also unlawful ( i mean to falsely claim someone is representing them )?
339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Lyra2rev mining please help me on: April 23, 2017, 09:11:43 PM
Hi Cereberus, mining with nicehash is convenient but they have quite high fee ( i think its 3 %). So mining directly with CC miner is more preferable.

As of your setup. Changing only address is not enough. I guess you need to change also the algorithm you mine ( not sure which one is set as optional ) together with username and pass (this depends on pool you are using ...  some requires address, others requires you to sign up and use your login)

Can you post your batch file content? ... without pass and username of course

I used to mine with CC miner 2.0 https://bitcointalk.org/?topic=770064
all you need is to create the bat file ( when running with bat file the miner skips the config file) with following info:
Quote
ccminer-x64 -i 20 -a lyra2rev2 -o (PUT HERE YOUR MINING POOL) -u (PUT HERE YOUR WORKER NAME or USER NAME) -p (PUT HERE YOUR PASS)

example:
ccminer-x64 -i 20 -a lyra2rev2 -o stratum+tcp://mona.suprnova.cc:2995 -u MyName.Worker1 -p x
( letter 'i'  stands for intensity, you can start with lower values to test it)

Also you can prepare a bat file for each algorithm (supported algos are listen in read me) and switch mining as you want.

Thanks but have deleted it and put nicehash to mine only the Equihash algorithm which is the most consistent one now that I am thinking about it. I am only mining zcash, and I intend to continue with nicehash miner as even they have 3% fee they are bringing in me more profit than mining zcash with EBWF Cuda miner and selling it in poloniex through fees and having also fees for withdrawing from there too. It appears nicehash is a better option for me.

OK, fully undestood. For how long you mine with them?

My story:
I tried them 3 weeks ago just to test. With GTX 1080 mined the most profitable ( also lyra and equihash). I was impressed by income as well ... my stats shown 4 mBTC in 2 days. But then I quit and start mining with pools.  Yesterday I received payout from nicehash and got only 2.5 mBTC. Just guessing the BTC price rise reduced my rewards (they calculate it in USD). So I'm very glad I did not mine with them for longer time.
Just wanted to share my experince.
340  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hello! i need ALOT of help on getting started. on: April 23, 2017, 08:16:25 PM
Hi Miguel , I hope you are not mining bitcoins ( because it is useless with your equipment ).

If you do mine bitcoin then please stop and purchase some ASIC miners ( Antminer, Ebit, avalon etc.) or try to find some CPU coins to mine ( use nicehash to determine the most profitable coin for you)

If you are mining altcoins then this is wrong section ( here should be discussed only BITCOIN RELATED STUFF ) ... move your topic to Alt Coin mining section  (to move topic follow the button at bottom left)
Guys there should be able to advice you better.

Just in general (Im not familiar with EasyMiner ) you should provide either your address or your login name via the worker name (should be one of the miner options). If you are not registered on the pool you probably just donating your hasrate to the pool owner (as he has no way how to know whom to pay the earnings)
