I think a farmed account must be shown to belong to a group of accounts with 1 owner, as I have shown with my "alphabet" lists, and my "repeat" lists. (many of my lists also connect together showing 1 farmer openly owning and shitposting 100's of accounts) Multiple accounts created for spamming, scamming or selling. So, although your listed accounts maybe "farming" their own accounts, until they are connected to many others, they are not "farmed accounts", imo. As you say, these accounts post pure copy paste with link, no discussion/viewpoint, never return to thread. Spamming the discussion forum. At least they should post in press, that is all they post, a press snippet. Shit-posting for sure. I think it is a moderation issue. However, with all the hundreds of farmed accounts, I don't think mods can see the wood for the trees. Added - I called Posternut out in July here, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1570223.msg15762562#msg15762562

^^^ "Spamming should not be condoned - it should be as simple as that." Malsetid is farmed. (others unchecked) November 24, 2015, 09:09:15 AM - November 24, 2015, 10:12:52 AM Time scale 1 hour. 12 farmed accounts, 2400 spam posts. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=663111 Zosuda (22) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=663116 molsewid (22) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=663122 Bamselk (21) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=663129 fasdorcas (22) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=663136 Zadicar (860) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=663142 Malsetid (22) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=663146 Bamsed (67) *** https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=663156 Fasdurcas (23) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=663174 Zudalar (22) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=663185 Mastsetad (1344) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=663190 Blamsud (21) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=663195 Farstdury (23) Farmed accounts are only ever going to spam. (or scam) Whatever standard of post they need to achieve to carry on, they will achieve. (lets face it, the bar is unlikely to be set very high) Their posts will still be spam, just longer. Admins could find these farmed accounts far easier than me, they have the tools available. Still, I can find them easily enough, although the 400 farmed accounts i have found were generally created a year ago. I am a year behind. If this problem was dealt with, then moderators could be serious about stopping spam. As you see above, 12 farmed accounts created in 1 hour, 11 months ago. Malsetid, 22 posts when i listed this account, now has 142 posts! Mastsetad (1344) now 2129, molsewid (22) now 240 that is 1100 posts in 4-6 weeks from 3 of 400 accounts on my ignored by mods/admin farmer list. The list is good. No serious objection from any account listed!

"What do you think about personal responsibility of signature campaign managers in regard to the quality of their members posts?"
They must carry some responsibility, but surely the mods/admin are more responsible for stopping organised spam posting. I thought spamming was an offence in the "rules", and sig spammers were going to be looked upon harshly-ish. No sign of any of that happening.
I like that Lauda is trying to think of the bigger picture, but i'm a bit worried by hilarious saying "punishments for people who run the campaigns very poorly." - is just poorly ok?
"It is beyond doubt that the quality of posts has massively gone down during the last few years primarily due to the influx of shit posters..."
And they are mainly "mass farmed" accounts. Without addressing this issue, spam cannot be tackled effectively. Of the 400 accounts i have identified, probably 90% can be assigned to 1 farmer.
"banning individual spammers won't help much..." Agreed. It doesn't matter if say, zalucia (265) is banned, Zaducis (132)*** is still here spamming, if he is banned, Zacudis (168) will carry on, or Zicadis (24), Zocadas (25), Zulucia (28), Zosuda (22), Zadicar (860), or Zudalar (22), or 391 other accounts. (my farmed list of 400 is not complete - there are hundreds more) All the same person.... But taking action against blocks of "mass farmed" accounts would make a difference.
I would like to see a clear statement on this subject from global mod/admin. But... if no one else thinks so? Of course macwika (20) will disagree, as will madwica (612), mandica (295), mastica (39), molsewid (22), Malsetid (22), Mastsetad (1344), michkima (28), miakama (24), misakama (23), mistanama (23), mitkala (20) and miayama (125). They outvote me 12 to 1. But they are just 1 person.

In that 5 and half hour, 310 accounts were created in total. 14 are active farmed accounts, (above) 9 are active real accounts, (active within 3 months) 14 are inactive real accounts (not posted in 3 months) 273 are zero post dormant accounts. The 9 active real accounts post counts are 3, 9, 21, 1, 1, 3, 106, 2, 2. As you can see, they don't post much. The 14 real but inactive post counts 1, 12, 1, 1, 1, 2, 1, 24, 3, 18, 30, 2, 1, 1. They didn't last long. Probably driven away by the farmed account spammers drivel. As we can see, 14 farmed accounts verses 9 real (just about) active accounts. The farmer never quits. All these accounts are ranked up ready to start serious sig spamming, as Oilacris account has. Added first post history's, they will link in with my next post. Also, big thanks to Twitchyseal.

It's not a bad idea to remove junk and spam messages. But I would like to know about how post quality is determined and I would be glad to hear about all the factors that makes our post spam.
I too want to know the same. Many user are saying about many factors that makes our post spam. Although my messages weren't deleted every bit i am rather afraid of sick policy. I would be happy if you provide the link or say me about full policy. As far as i understand , spam post are those post that are not on topic and doesnt even relevant into it and also its doesnt contribute anything to the community thats how i understand on a spam post thats why its one of the most important rule in this forum on not to commit spams. Correct. And your post is spam, clearly. But then you know that. You are an expert in this field. Any reason you post spam? Well writing multiple posts per day on multiple farmed accounts is time consuming i guess. Your account is part of the 400ish farmed accounts i have listed here, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1597201.180You are on an alphabetical list i see. You are "O". (i haven't listed you yet, but check later, it will be there. i love alphabet lists, so easy to spot)

But seriously, does it really matter all that much who uses bitcoin?
I dont care as much about who uses bitcoin, if it were not for political power. Whenever a group of people overtakes another group, they will push their own view from then on. So if bitcoin is overtaken by socialists, expect wealth redistribution hardforks. You and Core and segwit are safe and nice and right. Others and bigger blocks are dangerous and bad and wrong. RealBitcoin, not.

This is what's so ridiculous about both his and your position; there's nothing wrong with increasing the blocksize in principle, but
only at the right moment in time to suit what the software, the Bitcoin network and the underlying internet infrastructure can support.
2015 was not the right time, and neither was it this year. So that means that software imporvements to increase the capcity of the network are needed, not crude increases in resource usage that threaten the network.
I know you refuse to see that this is the sensible option, but the 25+ Core devs don't see it that way. About 3-4 devs see it your way, and the reasoning hasn't convinced anyone to take a risk on their (literally) backwards schedule to implement scaling up transaction capacity. Like you say, you're welcome to argue or code as you please, but this business of using nothing but bad arguments makes you look like bad losers, at best.
This is probably the most reasonable argument you've presented so far, so I don't know why you couldn't open with that, heh. It should be noted that SegWit wasn't even on the table when concerns over the maximum throughput first arose, but now that it is, I am quite happy for us to experiment with that. Again, I'm not saying we shouldn't implement Segwit and other optimisations. I'm happy to have Lightning available as an option for those who wish to use it. But I am absolutely adamant that the average user shouldn't be forced into using Lightning, or worse still, forced off-chain into some hideous realm of digital IOUs, because the main chain becomes an exclusive, elitist club for the new one-percenter-wanabees. I don't see that as a "bad argument". I honestly and passionately believe that would be genuinely damaging to Bitcoin if it were to happen. As such, I will continue to campaign vociferously against that potential outcome. Contrary to popular belief, I don't want to see the Bitcoin network fall over because no one is able to run a node. But at the same time, I believe it's quite reasonable to assume that two-thirds of a floppy disk won't be enough to cover an entire globe's worth of transactions in the space of ~10 minutes for many years to come. There are no guarantees that SegWit, Lightning and other such proposals will solve the scaling issues. I hope they do. But I still want the option of a blocksize increase if they don't. If I have to rely on an alternative client for that option to be available, so be it. So, with this in mind, I'm quite horrified by the increasing barrage of authoritarian attitudes towards development and the way in which people perceive network "governance". I actually agree that changes should be made (at the risk of misquoting you) " at the right moment in time to suit what the software, the Bitcoin network and the underlying internet infrastructure can support", but I would simply add afterwards: I trust the market to decide when that time is and what code should regulate it. If I didn't, I wouldn't have any money in it. In fairness to you, I'll happily concede there are people making arguments that " blockstream are the devil, so we should fork yesterday" or " 100mb blocksize, plz" or some other such silliness. I'm not actually one of those people, though. You might recall my amended BIP106 proposal, which I thought was pretty damn moderate, personally. And your post in August last year about BIP106, where you were initially drawn to the idea, leaves me wondering how we keep butting heads over this matter and how I keep being personified as some sort of militant loon. You make a lot of sense. Don't be to forgiving and fair with him, you will get none back.

Im guessing the OP thought he had busted a Staff Member breaking rules.
Yeah, i think i did. Did i think anything would happen? nah. I did slate you once for no real reason, always meant to apologise, never did. I chilled, as you suggested. (apologies now) I guess i was owed the picture thingy. You are truly a great person, the one this community always wanted... A light of hope is now here on the forum and will surely spread happiness among us instead of bullshit and spam that we are all around... Regards and good luck for your work ahead, Mr. Superman... Blimey, thank you sir. Do you search snippets of a quote or do you search the whole thing?
Could be either, i think google only uses the first 30ish words. Depends what mood googles in also. Sometimes if looking at someones post history, you may notice they suddenly speak, or write differently, maybe they suddenly speak prefect English, before suddenly loosing that ability again. It is pot luck, and you will not find many. I don't look much. It is quite unbelievable that someone would copy paste such spam trash posts as above, (manyute) It must be just as quick to type a near as copy, like the shitposters he copied off, and not risk a ban! Added snip... They tend to do it in the big threads with 40+ pages but not exclusively.
I think that was the case here. Maybe the threads that manyute posted in need looking at as part of the close a useless thread thing you got going. At least in discussion. There is even "Would you like to receive your salary in Bitcoin?" in discussion, and "Will you accept Bitcoin as your salary?" in off topic. Which manyute replied to both!

I am just waiting for 10 posts to be made on "bit future" account. I'm guessing next 24 hours. Hope he doesn't see this first! It was this post by hope4ever that drew my attention, signature campaign is really a good way of making bitcoin but it depend on the policy of the signature campaign and your rank that how much can you receive for your posting, if your rank is high the you will really get a good amount of bitcoin from signature campaign.
Completely off topic irrelevant, pointless, barely legible drivel - like all posts from all three of these farmed accounts! Even if mods are not targeting multi accounts directly, i would like to know how this is not zero quality spam.

TL;DR how do you find copy/pasted posts, manually or with software?
Manually for me. Google search, not forum search.

i have edited the title to include others. This report is too long to pm, and maybe of entertainment value to members. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=233217 manyute. this member was spamming discussion, posting in many different threads in just a few minutes. seemingly all copy paste, spelling mistakes and all. I will list just 3 from today, I think for now gold is better than bitcoin because gold has already established a track record and people know what is gold and that it can protect them or its like an insurance for them if they have money problems, they can always sell the gold in exchange for fiat and it has higher value than bitcoin. But when bitcoin will be of higher value than gold and it would be more popular then it would be better than gold because you can carry it wherever you want and no one knows that you have a lot of money since its anonymous.

the question is why would you not accept Bitcoin as your salary? It is the same ass taking cash in your local currency, it is just in another form. It would be like taking gold or silver instead of receiving USD for me.

Of course, I would love to receive my salary in BTC. Actually I am already receive some of my salary in BTC as I have an online work or job that pays BTC while in my day job I am paid in my countries currency automatically credited into my bank account during payday.

And a few from his last session, I guess that stealing Bitcoin is illegal because if they do not belong to you then it is still considered stealing even if people think that Bitcoin is illegal as well. So yes stealing Bitcoin is still not legal but there is not much that can be done if it happens.

in our area still there is not a single department who have accepted bitcoin, therefore bitcoin need some more effort to become popular, but it is also a fact that the number of bitcoin users is increasing day by day.

I think holding the bitcoin for a long time is good although its depending on what you of course consider as a long time. Most of the times a long time can be good its just a matter of time these days to make profit with the bitcoin.

This old thread was bumped in development and technical, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=737836.60Dabs, staff, posted this a while ago, but i saw it as it is on the last bumped page. So I'm supposed to spend months of my life working for free? Don't get me wrong I like crypto but I want to make some money.
Linux is open source. Bitcoin is open source. LibreOffice is a multiplatform open-source office suite. I'm sure I can give you hundreds more examples. Each of those projects are "free to download and use" but the developers have happy lives and are being compensated somehow. In the beginning, open source software looked like a saintly gift. Programmers would work hard, then give away the fruits of their labor to anyone who wanted it. Everyone would benefit from this act of pure charity. Over time, however, companies realized they could make money and give away the software at the same time. They could do well by doing good. This wasn't a shock to some of the original open source advocates -- it was how some intended it to be. Richard Stallman, for one, always said that "free speech" was more important to him than "free beer." He embraced the idea that companies could charge anything they like -- as long as the user could fiddle with the code and distribute the result. There is a common misconception that there is no money in open source software. It is true that open source code is free to download. But when it comes to making money you should think of this as an opportunity rather than a limitation. Businesses who make money in open source software include: MySQL (now owned by Oracle): Popular relational database. Red Hat: Major distributor of Linux for server and desktop use. WordPress: Widely used blogging platform. SugarCRM: Business customer relations management. Magento: E-commerce shopping platform. Zimbra: E-mail and messaging server. If your idea is truly worth something, even if you give it away for free, you will surely get compensated somehow. I don't know how. If it's not, then no one will pay for it anyway. It is basically copy pasted from 2 other sites. https://www.cio.com.au/article/528999/greed_good_9_open_source_secrets_making_money/http://opensource.about.com/od/basics/tp/5-Ways-To-Make-Money-With-Open-Source-Software.htmI am presuming dabs is not the author of these two other sites. Dabs makes no acknowledgement or reference to above sites. Looks like copy paste to me.

I decided to remove all users with 9 posts or less or with most recent activity May 30, 2016 or earlier. In other words, I'm only going to be looking at Users with 10+ posts who have logged on at least once since June. That leaves us with 356 of the original 23,932 users responsible for 53,358 of the total 65,278 posts. Total accounts created by date: Ok, now we can look back at this chart from Twitchyseal, comparing it to my listed farmed accounts. 11/8 i have listed 22 farmed accounts 11/9 i have listed 13 farmed accounts 11/10 i have listed 11 farmed accounts 11/11 i have listed 0 farmed accounts 11/12 i have listed 6 farmed accounts 11/13 i have listed 7 farmed accounts 11/14 i have listed 4 farmed accounts 11/15 i have listed 0 farmed accounts 11/16 i have listed 6 farmed accounts 11/17 i have listed 8 farmed accounts 11/18 i have listed 0 farmed accounts 11/19 i have listed 8 farmed accounts 11/20 i have listed 4 farmed accounts 11/21 i have listed 0 farmed accounts 11/22 i have listed 16 farmed accounts 11/23 i have listed 37 farmed accounts total......................142 farmed accounts Twitchyseal's chart shows 350 accounts registered and still active in the last 3 months I have shown 142 of those to be farmed. So, 40% of those accounts are farmed. bear in mind - I have not found all famed accounts. On 4 days i did not find any farmed accounts. The chart shows 5, 3, 21 and 12 registered on those days. The farmer clearly did not work on the first two 0 days, probably i have not found him yet from the third 0 day, Could be either way on forth 0 day How clear is this, the farmer takes 2 days off, only 8 real people joined bct and are, or were still active here in the last 3 months It gets worse i think. In the next 8 days after this chart, 11/24/2015 - 12/1/2015, i have listed exactly another 142 farmed accounts. That is a period of half the time of this graph of 16 days! I do not have the total still active number from this period, but if it is the same daily average of real members, then farmed accounts make up 60% of new active users. Us few real accounts are outnumbered. It is not something that can be ignored. Theymos and his crew do nothing though.
