3221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best litecoin mining rig? on: March 29, 2013, 02:07:44 PM
It is worthwhile to mine LTC as the value has risen in the recent past. You won't get rich overnight but it is profitable. Difficulty has risen as well so do your homework on the amount of coins you may receive.
Have fun!
3222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Powercolor 7870 LE (Tahiti) - NEED HELP! on: March 29, 2013, 12:53:02 PM
All my GPU's mine perfectly with a slight core OC, under clocked Memory and undervolted. Upping the Memory speed doesn't do anything but raise heat levels for me.
7970,6950,5850 and 6870's. I use cgminer.

KWH we are talking about litecoin and scrypt here, not bitcoin.

LTC is what I mine. Assume much?

Speaking of asshole, time to get your head out of yours, stop lusting after others money and good fortune and work for what you want. If you are unwilling to do this, get used to your station in life. We owe you nothing. The Entitlement attitude and your own greed for things you don't have isn't very becoming.

You can not do a charge back on virtual goods.   This is my point!  Leaving the buyer screwed not the seller

Yes you can especially if it was funded via CC. PP makes their own rules as they go and each case can be solved with different rules as they see fit.

My list of totally unscientific, unproven, and completely biased recommendations of GPU brands.

Good: Gigabyte, MSI, Asus, Sapphire, Powercolor

Bad: XFX, Diamond, HIS, Visiontek

Not a single issue with either MSI, PowerColor, HIS or VisionTek. OC like champs and run cool. Only issues with Diamond were failed fans and lousy customer support.
3236  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Looking for firsthand opinions 7970 on: March 18, 2013, 03:03:01 AM
I have no specific experience with the 7970 but in general I find sapphire non-reference to have really good cooling
Certain XFX video cards are the only ones where you can get a lifetime warranty.
I was personally looking at the Gigabyte OC model for a while. Apparently it runs really cool

VisionTek also offers lifetime warranty.
3237  Economy / Economics / Re: European Union is robbing its citizens' bank accounts. 9.9% to be confiscated. on: March 17, 2013, 12:18:46 AM
No sign of something like this in Hungary

give it enough time...
When they see it works they will.

Yes. They are already thinking up ways to get in our retirement money and people leaving high tax states are being taxed to leave.
Little money is kept in my account these days.
3238  Economy / Lending / Re: 35 BTC Loan Contract (ATC777 and BTCInvest) on: March 17, 2013, 12:05:59 AM
Thanks guys. Perhaps I did over-react but I'm not quite feeling myself right now...

To begin with, I've been struggling with some extremely painful dental problems for a couple of months and it has become absolutely excruciating during the last 2-3 weeks (almost too painful to eat anything, let alone speak)... and since I was about 15-years-old I've been living with a debilitating spine condition... so imagine how it feels to get into an accident, through no fault of your own, injuries + pre-existing pain and my Mercedes (probably my dearest possession) destroyed... then the insurance company starts BS'ing you around, you have no ride to go anywhere (much less get timely medical treatment you need), have to take powerful pain meds just to be semi-functional, can't sleep... So yes, it's easy for me to over-react right now.

And despite all of this going on I still have responsibilities hanging over my head. How do I get my mother to/from work each day (she depends on me)? How do I make rent and pay my bills? How do I get food to eat when I physically cannot walk to the store anymore and have no drivable vehicle? Ah, and what if mom's biopsy results come back saying she has breast cancer, and she needs cancer treatment (we're waiting on those results now)? The list goes on and on... Hopefully it's not hard to understand how one could forget about a couple of bitcoins for a day or two. Sad

I'd also like to point something out which I just realized... The loan contract says:

Scheduled Dates
Scheduled dates are set as every 30 days after the loan amount has been sent, 12 times per year.

Last month (February) has only 28 days. So 30 days from the last payment would fall on 3/14/2013. I made my payment last night (3/15/2013). Thus it was actually just a day off...  Smiley

I understand that the "Bitcoin paranoia" is (to some extent) somewhat justified... lots of people have been burned by scammers and delinquent/disappearing debtors. But I haven't gone anywhere. Still here, made my payment. Sorry it was a day off, but hopefully no one finds that unreasonable with my present set of circumstances... As it stands right now I'm unable to work or generate any income outside of Bitcoin, so I felt it was necessary to stand my ground on this.

But no hard feelings, KWH... Thanks for understanding.

Regards,

--ATC--

None here, hope insurance comes through for you.  Smiley
3239  Economy / Lending / Re: 35 BTC Loan Contract (ATC777 and BTCInvest) on: March 16, 2013, 11:29:01 PM
Hey KWH, give him a break - car accidents are frequently used as a excuse but there's many instances where they are true. And there not much reason to be skeptical if the payments were made..

I agree, it was dubious to me and I said something. My apologies to ATC777 .
