I have a couple of questions about how Bitcoin Mining Software works. Firstly, does it run on my computer with a connection to the internet? or Does it run on a website / server hosted online? and second, Where can I get this software? and Roughly how much will software like this cost me? Tongue

Poke around the forums a bit, all your questions are already answered.  Cool

2483  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTS] BTC for Paypal on: March 03, 2014, 04:47:12 AM
Hello all!

Buying BTC, sending you payment from Paypal.

I am a heavy trader on localbitcoins.com (https://localbitcoins.com/accounts/profile/tagged/), happy to use that escrow while I am building my rep here on BCT.org.

Paying Bitstamp +3% to cover your paypal fees. (Because of my volume I cannot send as gift).

Looking to buy a total of $4k currently. Thanks!

If you are actually buying, you need to change the title to reflect this.
2484  Other / Meta / Re: Active Mining - New Moderated Thread - Mods please come back on: March 02, 2014, 05:29:00 PM
Over 40 Spam posts deleted just today.

What is going on? Why are these users not banned?

Probably because they can make new accounts as fast as you can ban them.

thanks Cheesy
No thanks Cheesy if you seriously want a loan instead of a handout, offer collateral.
is it possible you give me an example, what could be the collateral? cuz i dont have anying altcoin :S

Something of value that can be sent to the lender or escrow agent to hold until the loan is paid in full. It needs to be small enough that any shipping to and from won't be too costly. Collateral needs to be sent before any funds are transferred.
2486  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTB 5 Bitcoins Credit Card Payment on: March 02, 2014, 05:13:17 AM
This would be a high risk transaction, be very careful.
2487  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM SITE ALERT! on: March 01, 2014, 06:20:46 PM
My question is, why would anyone be dumb enough to send money to a site written in poor grammar promising to double your money? There is no reasoning behind it. At least with Leancy you can see visible results of people being paid out, and receive an explanation as to how the profit is being made and paid.

The website reads, "coin2 is the most clear and truthful system ever. All Bitcoin transactions are in public. Full history is available." yet there are absolutely NO public transactions.

The site OP mentions just says "double your money". I can't believe anyone would fall for this.

Greed.  Grin
2488  Economy / Lending / Re: Really need 1BTC, will pay 10% interest over 3 months on: March 01, 2014, 07:46:34 AM
I sold my car and put everything I had into Bitcoin. I had heard about Bitcoin a few times over the years but didn't seriously look into it until 2013 and started buying in late 2013.
Why did I buy Bitcoin? I believed Bitcoin has the potential to make the world a better place. Having experienced the slow decline of my family's business through agreements causing our customers to move overseas and then being hit by the 2008 financial crisis I no longer had any faith in our government or financial system. I wanted Bitcoin to succeed and so I did what I could to be involved and use it where I could.
That was all alright, I would be able to blame myself and feel horrible but not like I do now. The thing was that I convinced some of my family to invest as well. And I kept it all in my mtgox account. I know my parents have read about the news, and I have been avoiding them for the past few days. I just don't now what to do. I know that this could really break up myself from my family, I've seen stuff like it happen to others. I really have nothing right now to give them.

If I could have a loan for at least some of the money that was theirs, I think I could maintain their trust.

I know that what I did was stupid, and I really am worried about my future will be like without my family and without a way to support myself. What is the point of it?

Sorry for your troubles but if you have "been into bitcoin", how did you not know Gox was a walking dead man?
2489  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER ALERT Cryptojesus on: March 01, 2014, 07:31:02 AM
He is aware of this thread but looks to have no interest in defending himself. Says cedward is the scammer and is harassing him over a negative rep.
2490  Other / Meta / Re: Trust System Abuse? on: February 28, 2014, 10:45:51 PM
So I'm sure this is covered, but I'm just not finding it.

I gave a user negative trust for attempting to send another user an infected file.  There are screenshots etc. showing proof that they did this.

As retribution, I assume, this user came back & tagged me with negative trust and said that I stole BTC in the form.  I've never had dealings w/ them, and I want this removed, as I have done nothing wrong, and there is absolutely no good reason for me to have a negative trust rating.

What can I do here?  Am I simply screwed?

Nothing. When one reads your Trust, they should evaluate the source of any negatives. I have a few but they really mean nothing in the scheme of things. Spite Trust will happen.

I see this when I look at your Trust:
Trust:    0: -0 / +0(0)

Only when I click on Untrusted feedback do I see the negative.
2491  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: 20 bitcoin loan on: February 28, 2014, 09:11:47 PM
Hello, my name is Marco I write from London UK. I would like to have a loan of about 20 Bitcoin.
The purpose of the loan is to invest in more powerful bitcoin miners to improve the production. I would like to opt for a long term loan just to make sure I will be able to pay but I am confident it will be repaid quicker.
I am a professional with a permanent job and a diligent way to manage my finances. I believe in bitcoin and if you support me I will reach my goal an you will make profit so we will be both happy. We can discuss about interest and repayment.
Thank you so much in advance

You will need collateral and lots of it.
2492  Economy / Lending / Re: Please Loan $2500 or Partner. Get 100% Interest on: February 28, 2014, 02:19:14 PM
Hello current i can get a loan because i am jobless. In the part of west Africa  where i am getting a loan is a very hectic task even for those that are employed.

Then you really have no income and no way to repay should your venture fail. Talk about high risk!
2493  Economy / Lending / Re: Please Loan $2500 or Partner. Get 100% Interest on: February 28, 2014, 01:19:31 PM
Hello i need a loan of $2500 or more. For funding my sport betting business, but i dont have collateral. I am ready to partner with a financier for a 50/50 deal you dont necessarilly  have to send me the money it will be 100% under your control in my recommend bookmaker. You pay me out of the profit while i do the work. The returns is between 500% to 800% bi-weekly. 100% transparency guaranteed you can send me an email to give you the details. You can also call Achu +2348112360792

If it's that profitable, perhaps a personal bank loan would be cheaper and more likely.
2494  Other / Meta / Re: Can we get rid of all of these MtGox discussions in Bitcoin Discussion? on: February 28, 2014, 12:54:55 PM
We're trying, they keep making new ones over and over. It's pretty annoying.

Yes it is. I've ignored several boards already but these keep spilling over onto others. I won't have much left to ignore soon.
2495  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 0.18 Btc, return 0.21 Feb28 on: February 28, 2014, 05:02:42 AM

Confirmed. Hope to lend to you again in the future. Thanks!
2496  Other / Meta / Re: Tomatocage negative trust on: February 27, 2014, 01:50:31 PM
People hand out negatives WAY too quickly these days. Especially mods or early members who think they are better than anyone else

Mmmm hmmm then you get situations like recent group buys that go south. Participants then start an onslaught of threads wondering why the community didn't do anything. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
OP, either keep trying to reach Tomatocage or try to prove him wrong and up your Trust with successful dealings.
2497  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: I want to start a group buy for dualminer USBs on: February 27, 2014, 02:33:28 AM
Group buys sometimes end badly. If you are determined, you need to fully disclose yourself, your actions and your intentions. I would also recommend a well known escrow to hold any and all funds. Anyone participating should do their homework and check you out thoroughly.
2498  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Throwing out an idea for buying and selling BTC with Credit cards and Paypal on: February 27, 2014, 02:28:40 AM
then what about zynga and all the game companies that sell in game currency? they can be victims of chargebacks?
Those are virtual items too, credits which you can keep record of.  (you can also keep record of bitcoins within the bitcoin protocol)
So disputing the chargeback shouldn't be hard if you have a proper business going on.

If a credit card is involved, you can and will get charge backs.
