That's not my quote BTW.
messed up the tag order. fixed

greed makes blind
but good preventation measures still can reduce the probability of that happening

I see that, thanks.

Im sure there is a reason for letting sellers do this, I just do see one at the moment.
Sure, to stop the trolls. Same people make new accounts over and over just to troll, because they can.

i believe, people are smart enough to recognize a fresh-regged single-digit-activity account just trolling
especially when the seller takes the time to qoute and disarm these posts, also reporting to moderators

dunno if smf has that feature, but i know other baords give the op to flag posts as spam
these arent deleted then but just hidden and can be shown by clicking on them

combine this with a min posts and min days registered to post permission for all marketplace boards,
and you greatly solve the spam/troll problem without giving scam ops the chance to censor or disguise

That's not my quote BTW.
And no, greed blinds people some to the point of being ludicrous.
2543  Other / Meta / Re: prohibit self-moderated groub buy sale topics on: February 17, 2014, 02:14:18 PM
I agree. I really see no need to let a person be able to self moderate a GB or sales post. Other sections I can understand the purpose, but for sales pages I do not understand.

Im sure there is a reason for letting sellers do this, I just do see one at the moment.

Sure, to stop the trolls. Same people make new accounts over and over just to troll, because they can.

Thank you two for the useless fucking posts. I clearly said in my first post I knew it was a long shot you two coming here and posting the same exact thing does no good. Keep your shit elsewhere. I need a small amount of btc and I posted here to see if anyone could accomidate. If nobody can then so be it.

Scam in the making?  Roll Eyes

Must be a scam because I'm trying SO hard to buy.. Honestly. Eat dicks man. I'm not even going to buy from anyone here anymore I'll try localbitcoins and do face to face. I don't want to deal with turds like you.

BYE!  Cool

Always check the Trust, even click on Untrusted Ratings and then Show Ratings. Unless the lender has a proven, impeccable record, use escrow for any collateral. Use due diligence for all transactions.
2547  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buying bitcoins with paypal. on: February 17, 2014, 05:46:01 AM
Looking for a reputable seller with good feedback that will do my paypal for your btc. I only need about $100 in btc. My paypal is 10+years old and is the same as my ebay account with 100 positive feedback and equally as old. I'm more than happy to do escrow or whatever makes you feel happier. I'll pay first no problem for any seller with solid feedback that is trustworthy.  I know everyone is really sketchy about paypal and I'm newly registered so I'm willing to do whatever needs to be done to make this a trustworthy solid deal I just need some BTC quickly.

Probably not going to happen. Too risky.

2549  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I am having problems trying to get refund from AvalonShenzhen on: February 16, 2014, 01:06:46 AM
I got taken in this one too...same reason....I see previous buys that look like they went well...see senior members involved....NO threads saying hey this guy is a thief...
Fuck my fucking life.

another 1.1 btc gone forever.

and I'm getting tired of hearing 'use your own brain'...its quite obvious that this entire website is little more than a front for these thieves.  This place is a haven for crooks who get protection FROM the site.

What is the IP Address(s) of this POS?   bitcointalk won't tell us!
The very idea of these 'self moderated' threads are conducive to these scams.

The fucking site is AT BEST allowing these people to rip us off...at worst they are involved and profiting from it.

I'm fucking sick of this shit.

And then the site MOVES the topic into scam accusations because as we all know what's REALLY IMPORTANT is to not have off topic shit in the Groupbuy section

How about NOT moving ANOTHER fucking thread about ANOTHER fucking thief that YOU are protecting assholes....

I wonder how long it will take before this gets deleted???
There were no senior members involved. You may have thought there were, but you didn't do your due diligence (read above- they were made up names). I appreciate the fact you are upset, every normal person would be, but this is not the way to react. You're yelling at the people who tried to help out by painting his trust red and getting the mods involved.

Funny thing: He got taken in another GB, now he has a small refund with promises of more and he's now "giving the benefit of a doubt". Curious. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=457802.20

I posted this in my thread but mrugala asked me to post in here as well.  I have been sent back .2BTC and he wants to know how much more he owes me.

I think as of right now we have to take this man at his word.  I see a few other posts in this thread that look similar to mine.

Sickness or not, where are the funds from the group buy? If they are sitting safe, what not a full refund ASAP? If these funds were used for any other purpose, no matter the circumstances, that is FRAUD.

What we are being told is that he met someone in person and he was beaten and robbed and as a result the BTC from the groupbuy was taken (that's why he is going the refund route instead of just sending the cards).  He will now payback those who are entitled but he has to do it out of his own pocket and that will take several months.

I agree it is a rather fantastic tale and I can't verify it or dismiss it out of hand.  I did receive a small amount back and am being told the rest will follow.  Right now that is all that I know.

again as predicted. did the neg trust not even make it any obvious to you guys? or did u just think im a troll?
maybe a better question is to ask if you guys even checked his trust feedback.

We have a winner! I watch as people blindly send funds to persons that are iffy at best and many even have negative Trust. What can you do?
2551  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I am having problems trying to get refund from AvalonShenzhen on: February 15, 2014, 07:29:20 PM
hello,

IF- al lot of people know it was a scam-so my simple question ,why the hell was this thread 2 or 3 weeks open and he was be able to ripp of so many people?

why he was be able to moderate his thread and delete what he want - to prevent that some call him a scam in this thread?

i dont cry because of the 1.1 btc.... its bad and hard and i learned from it -but no one stops him and his thread instead of knowing ,that it is a scam?

Yeah I hope there was some legitimate reason... but all forms of communication have been dropped out from him. So although I want to wish for the best he's only giving me one option but to look at the proof before my eyes. I will update if anything changes

You did the right thing by starting a claim. Hopefully you'll get your funds back.
2553  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS]3x5970 mining rig for Best Offer{SOLD] on: February 15, 2014, 06:31:23 PM
I will do those things.

Not sure what you mean by "minor". He tried to steal almost $900. That doesn't seem minor to me.

Minor: Hit by a truck, car, plane, train, moped, skateboard, skillet, dog turd or flying trout. Also, could be actually sick or urgent family matter. Paypal claim IS the best bet for now. Hope it works out for you.

Learn what mining actually does, why it is needed, and how the current solution works without centralized control.

Once you do that it is obvious why your idea makes no more sense than designing a toaster which also cures cancer and paints your house.

I want that toaster!  Grin

Ok i'm glad i didnt send him any BTC he screwed that other user 0.2 from the looks of it.

Yip. Did you read all that mess on his trust? Yuck. I wouldn't touch this with a ten foot pole.

Always read the Trust and click the Show Ratings. Look it all over and follow the Trust trails. Protect yourself at all times!

Complete rubbish for sure. I send packages nearly on a daily basis, (USPS, UPS) and I can see for myself how long the tracking takes to post. If you are this butt hurt, ask for a refund, (if you even have an order),shut your pie hole and ignore the thread. Really, you're being an ass. It's almost like you are a sock of some "others" that have posted tripe here.  Roll Eyes

Another idiot who cant read ... am I asking for tracking ... no you retard.

I asking for status up date that the items been despatched you idiot, the same thing they have been promising for the last 3 weeks on this forum and  in private emails.

Their system suck ...

What's hard to believe about it? USPS tracking is usually only available after the item is delivered

Complete rubbish and I suggest you look at my original question. ps I worked in a global dispatch centre for 20 years.

Quote
So we have no possible shipment date, eta or forecast ?  I'm sorry but I find that hard to believe.

So you are telling me that when the item is manufactured and is processed for shipment "You are not given any" information on
shipment dates and freight container availability .....  that's complete rubbish.

What you should be doing is manufacturing each order in "Order Number" priority and then shipping as per original order.  If someone selects a slow delivery method they still receive postage / shipping information but the item takes longer to arrive.

What I suspect you are doing is saying "sod the order number" is someone selects Air, lets make them first which is complete rubbish.

You have 2 more weeks on top of the 9 weeks you have already had to provide basic information and to prove the item has been shipped or I expect a full refund.

I am fed-up of lame excuses.

That's pretty shitty, I warned the moderators about this muppet and he was allowed to just carry on - now he is deleting over 15 pages of posts from his thread.

Have you left appropriate Trust?

I didn't give this wanker any coins, I know better. But a lot of people have and it was a blatant scam that was simply allowed to happen - even though people were warning the moderators about him.

They won't do much, it's the individuals job to protect themselves. Post proof and he will get flagged.
