Curious, I was wondering what procedure was required to legally and contractually put up a car, or a small piece of land as collateral for a btc loan? are there any lenders that specialize in this area, or would you guys honestly suggest getting a traditional loan on one of the assets in fiat and purchase btc with it? recently got hacked and looking at liquidation/borrowing against some of my physical assets

Lesson learned on my end.
This guy seems to have scammed me for 32LTC. Shoulda gone with my gut and went with escrow. I'm going to give him a few more days to reply to my last PM before I neg him. Not sure that he will care but if it helps anyone else in the future....
Post the details and leave appropriate Trust. If you didn't use escrow it's on you.  |

I've not been directly affiliated with Coinroll for a few months now. There was a misunderstanding and lack of communication among the operators of Coinroll which is my fault.
I was under the impression that since the list had already been posted everyone, including John K, would've been able to calculate the winners once everything was out in the open so I was no longer needed. It seems that I never gave John K that instruction so sorry about that.

Regarding "cheaters":
All accounts had at least 100 posts when the final list was posted. There was no condition for multiple accounts in the original post. Who gets to decide which ones are duplicate accounts anyway? That would require cooperation from Theymos, which would be close to impossible and it's the reason it wasn't directly stated in the original post. It would also be easily defeated by using TOR for example. There is no reliable way to check for duplicate accounts.
In retrospect, the required post count should have been much higher and only old members should have been able to participate. BTC price was also 10 times lower back then. Alas, you cannot change the past nor predict the future. |

Some are easy to fall for. Scammers like to start small, build confidence and in the long run, cash out and walk away with a big score. The "good" part is they abandon that account, make a new one and start all over. Many times they already have a sock account that participates in the scam, building Trust and or post count. They then use this one to continue their scams. Protect yourself.

I wish there was something the forum would do about these. This place is border line operating a safe haven for these crooks. It's not up to anyone but the individual to do their own research and look out for themselves. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. Looking at the Trust AND actually reading it as well as looking at the persons leaving Trust. Follow the bread crumbs. It's sad when people get taken but the risk can be reduced by simple research, asking questions and not jumping on the first thing they see and eagerly sending coins. Any time spent in the Scam section should alert anyone to the fraud games played most often. Protect yourself at all times. |
