How about this:
I will buy gold coins from the mint using my credit cards, and put them in escrow with someone as collateral for the loan. That way, I can legitimately say that the coins I bought are still mine if asked and that I bought them as investments, but the BTC lender is fully secured.
Would that work? My only concern with this is finding really, really trustworthy escrow member here that (a) is willing to hold that much gold coin, and (b) has the reputation and history of handling large transactions so we both (lender and I) know we can trust him or her with so much money over a longer time period (at least 6 months), and (c) can keep them safe.
Is there someone like that that folks would trust with $15-50K gold coins for 6-12 months? That makes me pretty nervous even for escrow members that I have done several transactions with.
Or, what if I put the coins into a safe deposit box that requires 2 keys, so that BOTH the lender and I have to be present to open the box? I can travel to the lender's location (within reasonable flight or drive distance in the U.S. or Canada at least) and deposit locally to the lender.
Would anyone want to do a loan on this basis?
That would probably work, at first glance. I would make sure the escrow is fully vetted and details proven in real life.

If you have these types of collateral on hand, good credit, provable income, why not apply for a bank or title loan? Easier, faster and probably cheaper in the long run. Win/win for you.

To be honest, I don't think loans with collateral are much of a reason to leave trust, as obviously they don't require any trust. Else everyone would just boost their trust by taking out loans with collateral from trusted members. Just my two cents, though. I can see your point but if the feedback left shows 0 BTC risked OR leave the feedback on their Feedback Thread. We had issues awhile back where people would take out ultra small loans just to bump Trust. So, perhaps the latter would suffice for the borrower?

.....................Anyway KWH, I can probably pay you back tomorrow.
Sounds good. Repayment received. Where(address) would you like your collateral returned?

Why was negative feedback removed and why are you planning on deleting the thread? So the next guy gets scammed without warning?
I told him that I'd remove my neg trust (which included his full info in the comment) once he paid back TBL. So in keeping my word, I did. I didn't count on everybody else removing theirs as well. I said the same thing. I did what I said I would. I don't think the thread should be removed. X out the personal info bits if you must but leave everything else intact. Nothing to stop him from making/buying a new account if he wants to scam.

I am looking to buy CPU cooler coolermaster V8. The cheapest offer so far is 60 EUR, anyone can get it cheaper?
If you are just wanting the "cool" factor I understand but if you want actual cooling, opt for water or V6GT. I have all 3. Water and V6GT outperforms the V8. You can lap the bottom of the V8 and improve cooling.

Hi there
I have a Verified PayPal account and I'm looking to buy $290 worth of Bitcoin which at the current price is 0.65 BTC. Since PayPal to some is a higher risk for trading I will lower the amount to 0.6 BTC.
Therefore the trade is whereby I pay you $290 via PayPal and you send me 0.6 BTC. I can provide my transaction history and verification status via PM if needed and I am fully open to using escrow for this trade.
Please PM me if you are interested to trade.
Regards, Wulfcastle

I hope you are using a trusted third party for collateral holdings?
Every bank is trusted third party or no ? In case they do not hold their money (clients money) in bank, I would be worried about security of those money So, the OP is a certified, licensed banker?
