341  Economy / Gambling / Re: [ANN] Cointeller.eu - Deposit Here, Play Everywhere! BTC Sportsbetting Concierge on: April 23, 2014, 05:22:08 PM
That is correct, you deposit once with Cointeller, and then you are free to disperse your balance across the various sites in our network as you wish.  Also, both your balance at Cointeller.eu and your balances at any of the sportsbooks are kept in BTC or mBTC, balances are never converted to fiat.

Wow, that is fantastic! Please get Pinnacle on board ASAP - that bookmaker alone would take interest in your site "to the moon" as they say  Grin

Cointeller, just to clarify, all deposits and bets are done through your site meaning we don't have to create accounts on the individual bookmaker's sites?

@Ebrelus

Thank your for your post! I would love to read more replies from you!

Criticism and skepticism are demanded here, cause thanks to them we can improve and move forward!

Here are my comments and arguments, i hope they can clarify things out!

1) Fund distribution plan - from a member's point of view it may look that the distribution is not fair and the "dev fund" is way to high, but to my regret it is an exprimmation error! It is not a fund for the Developers - but for Development! Its frustrating cause we didn't see the dualist form of the abbreviation. At this point i would like to add that the Development Fund is not for the developers as their stake, but for the development of the coin! As you already know node.js is at our core, and the modular aspect of its structure gives us endless opportunities, which we intend to materialize.
Also i would like to add that the Developers will get a regular stake!

2) I am terrible sorry that we created a confusion with the Ipo end date! We updated the info on the first page, and further down the road we will add a countdown watch for the Ipo that will end on 25th of May!

3) The alpha is on its way and we decided that we will launch it the next day after the ipo will be over! It doesn't have a necessary strategic value, but we thought that it will a positive note to see the work exactly after the preliminary stage was done.
As a matter of finance i don't want to give you a number without backing it up, so i will make a financial report and get back to you later! Thank you for pointing this out as we never discussed this matter before, and it will improve transparency.

You are right about the fee, we do plan to increase it with time! As it is necessary in order to increase member quality in detriment of the quantity. We are preparing a plan and infographics which will guide everyone.

4) Having a bunch of people on board has its ups and downs, but we concentrate on the ups, cause now we are a community, sure not all of the members are devoted to it and are seeking financial satisfaction! But there are those that desire to be a part of something big and promising! We are making the first steps in creating something new, and not just a coin, we are creating a way to combine real currency with crypto to create a hybrid financial structure. PPS system with backup in cryptocurrency.

5) I agree with your opinion regarding NXT and their big fish distribution, i can't blame them cause they are pioneers in this field and are doing a big job, but at the same time limiting others to what they have. Our coin comes with improvements and bigger aspirations not to mention real ways for implementing future innovative ideas thanks to our modularity. We changed the participation experience giving everyone the right and the possibility to become a member. Of course if you look at nxtl like an investment it will be categorized as a long term.

We do realize the consequences of having an egalitarian coin! And of course we will ask the community as we need opinions from those experienced in this domain. At the moment i can provide a simple and straightforward explanation:
- We are creating a promising project, worth keeping an eye on!

I hope a covered some issues! And please don't hesitate to bring up more ideas that are worth discussing and point out the weak spots to make them the strongest!

Both Skillroad and you kinda anwer questions but don't answer to important part, just a lot of water.

What we all really want you to do is:
1. Forbid payments from exchagnes.
2. Set limits for new participants. Activity should be t least over 6-8. It's more than enough time for newbies to spend some time on forum, gain activity and get into Nxtl.
3. Raise the price.
4. Limit max number of stakes by at least 3000.

I  totally agree with #2 and #4, but not #3 ($25 is enough to dissuade numerous sock puppets) and #1 as I don't see what that would accomplish (someone who wanted a sock puppet could easily create another local wallet, so blocking payments from exchanges would be nothing more than an inconvenience)
344  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: btc-arbs.com - Daily ROI (0.01-10%) Update: withdrawal problem on: April 23, 2014, 12:18:28 AM
It appears they have reverse ponzi'd and plan on paying new members with the locked money from old members through this heartbleed/acquisition bullshit.

I agree ... it looks like a classic Ponzi scheme right now.

Is it too early for "I told you so"?  Grin

If we are going to be approaching exchanges, I think the best bet would be to start only with Poloniex and then move on to voting on Mintpal.

Those two are all you need - even Crapsy is no longer nearly as important as it used to be. Polo to start, then Minty when things get rolling....

We have received 2,000 BTC just in 5 minutes.

thanks for your guy's support and trust!

Classic scammer technique. He sends himself money to fake a demand and rush you to send money.
Also noob account with no reputation, no information, nothing.

I can't believe it is so obvious.

Yeah, it is such an obvious scam! Over 2,000 BTC  in just 5 minutes - they beat Stackcoin's record!

Looks like Coindesk is in on the scam as well:

Oh, so is Wired:

Imbecile!

I literally sprayed coffee on my monitor when I saw that pic! That one is going in my archives Smiley

I think Communitycoin has a great chance of going places due to it being supported by many senior members on this forum. Also, NEM and EXO have great potential and could both end up being huge!
349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Maxcoin: how to make 100,000$ with just 100$ on: April 20, 2014, 02:15:31 PM
Maxcoin will replace Bitcoin and dollar

Today is a dollar bill backed by nothing but the U.S. government. The government can devalue the dollar at any time and one day the dollar may disappear all together. This is why you shouldn’t believe in dollars, or euro or yen or any other government currency. Maxcoin is the future, better than Bitcoin and lightning fast. Bitcoin transactions takes up to ten minutes while a maxcoin is sent in an average of fifteen seconds.
More >>> http://www.freemaxcoins.com/82/maxcoin-will-replace-bitcoin-and-dollar/

Without a doubt the most ridiculous thing I have ever read on this forum.

Yup, out of all the altcoins out there, Maxcoin will surely replace not only Bitcoin but the US dollar as well! Time to go all in!

LOL

Yes!
And conditions are established prior to registration, not after registration!

Interesting, and where stand that the devs are not allowed to change the conditions after the registration?
Exactly nowhere!

I think the safest thing is to simply refund people who have done nothing but post in the NXTL threads as those people will be hard pressed to argue that they are legitimate users if they simply registered an account, sent a payment to NXTL, posted their account numbers and then never came back again. There are quite a few like this. It won't eliminate all of the sockpuppets but it will get rid of a good chunk of them without harming any legitimate users.
351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXTL: Next Coin Lite - Officiall Topic - Fair Distribution on: April 19, 2014, 05:51:35 PM

...

We are trying to build trust and transparency, and i do apologize for the created frustration.

Anyway, tomorrow we will make an official announcement about our current status and future plans! We will discuss about the IPO deadline and what are we preparing in the near future.

...

- I do believe in my work and the team that i've recently met! So to prove that our work is not meaningless ,and more, not a scam! I will keep your nickname in the Member List, and i will ask you to make an NXTL account so i can add it next to you nickname! You will be a Stake holder, without investing!

At the end of the project i will get in touch with you! And if you will be convinced that my words wore honest and NXT Lite is not like Edgecoin! I will ask you to contribute with the current Member fee!

Do we have a deal??

This is why I am happy to be a part of this project! I got a very good vibe right from the start that this was a legitimate attempt to create something awesome!

That and the fact that it is being built on Node.js  Grin
352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXTL: Next Coin Lite - Officiall Topic - Fair Distribution on: April 19, 2014, 05:49:29 PM
What you are doing with the sockpuppets?
Nothing?

We have discussed this matter earlier, and have come to a few conclusions!

We had acted upon this matter in several ways, and we are testing them for an optimal result!

I would like you to know that this is continuous problem that we are dealing with! We have some aces in our sleeve but and we are trying to come with a formula that will have a blasting result!

I would like to hear your opinion upon this matter.
What are your suggestions, and how would you act in our place?

Check out earlier post upon this issue and make a conclusion about the current and past state.

Thank you!

Koop, the easiest, simplest way to get rid of sockpuppets is to look at people who created an account and then proceeded to post here and in the investors list and never posted again. There are a whole bunch of people like that and while it won't get rid of all of them, it will certainly get rid of a large percentage of them while protecting all the legitimate newcomers.

Some of the sockpuppets are so obvious that you can even see the similarities in the user names (someone posted a list of some of the suspicious ones).

I think that's the easiest way without having to put in a major effort such as what NEM did with taint analysis, etc. Personally, I'd rather have you guys working on getting the client launched as opposed to a sockpuppet witch hunt  Smiley

353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: April 19, 2014, 05:40:43 PM
you know before the auction. do you think it would be a good idea to release some snippets of code.. to instill some confidence in the buyers! i think you will get far more interest if you do!

also i dont think anyone has of yet called nem a scam? would i be right in saying that... if so that is an achievement in itself! :L

+1! A very good idea as it will surely increase bidders confidence and price  Smiley

I love the way things are progressing here - NEM has the potential to go mainstream!

First of all I wasnt talking about bitcoin-trader as I dont know thair average daily income, besides they are not working 2 days a week. My calculations are based on btcarbs data, as I know exactly how much is the average daily income... Continious investment of 50 BTC (your 25000) during 365 days will have result of : 7999.327426813646 deposit, 3360.0704307658557 Unit/month (withouth futher investment). This is in case of average income equals to 1.4 and working 24/7 and reinvesting earned which is done exactly by btcarbs... and there youll have not just one million but 3...

Okay, possibly wrong thread then for your post.  However your numbers are totally unrealistic.   There is a lot of variability at BTC-arbs and typical returns are not close to 1.5% a day, although sometimes they are higher.  However the biggest mistake you are making is projecting a out over a year.  The gains are always limited by the size of the market.   As assets grow the yields will go down.    That is assuming they are a legit trading operation.

I just want to note that its 1.4% in average, you can count that from the beginning of their results. Smiley

Still, you are talking about btc-arbs and this is the bitcoin-trader thread.
A week ago it was the other way around!   At least people aren't posting referrals.

Wow, you must go through a lot of hemorrhoid cream for talking out your ass so much. You certainly have a lot of free time on your hands to post in a thread about a program that is apparently "too shady" for you while you defend BTC-Arbs, an obvious scam HYIP. I guess you were so successful at your option trading that not only were you able to put your kids through private school, but now you have plenty of free time to grace us with your math and investment prowess.

How's about you go back to your garbage thread discussing your garbage HYIP where you belong, mkay?

Whoa, you are completely out of line.

I'm out of line? I lost track of how many times you've come on here spouting something along the lines of "Bitcoin Trader just seems kinda shady" and "at least I'm not on here looking for referrals". If it is shady then why the hell are you so interested in it?

I'll make you a deal - don't come on here again and you won't see me on the BTC Arbs thread either. If you come on here with your subtle shilling, rest assured I'll be returning the favour.

The Exo dev is nothing at all like that Edgecoin scam. His updates are full of technical detail - Edge was just full of hot air. It is clear that these guys are the real deal and they want to see their coin succeed. Too much time and effort is being put into this for it to be a scam.

Its just a one man show until now. He needs to form a team to promote this coin

There are more devs but yes, he will need to get more people together for promotion.

Since there is a BTC Arbs shill posting in the Bitcoin Trader thread, I thought I'd come over here and bump my previous post regarding why BTC Arbs has a much higher probability of being a straight up ponzi with absolutely no arbitrage trading going on as compared to Bitcoin Trader. All my original points still apply, plus now we also have the site outage. This is very common with HYIPs as they are often attacked by competing HYIPs or hackers (it was previously noted that a lot of the traffic going to BTC Arbs originated from Russia, a hotbed for hacker and HYIP activity).

In addition, is it not strange that on the days when the Bitcoin price was plummeting and Bitcoin Trader produced a small loss as a result, BTC Arbs still managed to produce a gain? Have they ever posted a loss? I guess they must be a division of Goldman Sachs.

Finally, how about transparency? Has anyone ever spoken to the BTC Arbs admin in person? The Bitcoin Trader CEO is known in the Bitcoin community and the company was represented at the Bitcoin conference in Toronto. See here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=393570.msg6250784#msg6250784

I came here because I got fed up with the BTC Arbs shill coming over to the Bitcoin Trader thread with the balls to call that program "shady" while promoting this piece of crap HYIP. Below is my original, thorough post with a whole lot more reasons. Bottom line - I assure you that Bitcoin Trader will be operating for a hell of a lot longer than BTC Arbs!

Have to strongly disagree with you on this one - I've played traditional HYIPs (aka ponzis) for years and btc-arbs definitely has a much higher chance of being a straight up ponzi than Bitcoin Trader. Why?

1) Bitcoin Trader started off as invite only and to this day they do not advertise on any of the HYIP-related forums. Btc Arbs on the other hand advertises on the biggest HYIP blog of them all - MNO:

http://money-news-online.com/blog/2014/02/18/18022014-btcarbs-review-daily-news-hyip-industry/

You will notice even the reviewer on MNO says not to listen to the statements about doing BTC arbitrage as it is commonplace in the HYIP industry to pretend to conduct some real business activity (forex trading is often used).

A true HYIP/Ponzi requires constant money coming in - Btc Arbs is clearly more reliant on new funds coming in than Bitcoin Trader.

In fact, there has been talk that Bitcoin Trader will eventually have to stop new deposits (as arbitrage trading has limitations as to how much money you can realistically move around).

2) Bitcoin Trader has posted losing (i.e. negative return) days. I don't believe Btc Arbs has ever posted a losing day.

3) Mining. The fact that Bitcoin Trader is also involved in mining adds to their legitimacy and provides a safety net of sorts as they have other sources of income (i.e. not only reliant on new money coming in).

4) Fiat conversion. Another safety net for Bitcoin Trader. You make a deposit and it is calculated in USD. Your returns are in USD. This provides stability. Btc Arbs is only dealing in BTC, so they are susceptible to the wild price fluctuations of BTC. For example, say you deposited a large amount of BTC a few weeks back. If they convert it now to supply fiat to their trading activities, they would be getting a considerable amount less would they not?

5) The owner of Bitcoin Trader does not hide his identity and if you have a 20k or greater deposit you can actually meet with him in person and discuss other opportunities with him. The odds are high that he is a legitimate Bitcoin entrepreneur, while nothing is known at all about BTC Arbs' owner.

I spent a good deal of time researching both of these programs and I ended up going with Bitcoin Trader only. I check this thread periodically to see if any new info has surfaced that increases the chances of Btc Arbs being legit as I would love to diversify and put some money with them as well. As of now, I don't feel confident in doing so.

Hope this helps anyone who is considering these two programs. If anyone does decide to join Bitcoin Trader, please use my referral link:

I can't get ANY of the wallets working!

Windows link takes you to an exe file that doesn't run (I was expecting a password protected zip file as referenced in the first post).

Linux link takes you to a bin file that also does not run.

So I downloaded the source and it does not compile. First there were errors about missing PNGs (looking for Bct something.png with a capital B). I found the PNGs, renamed them with capital Bs and then the compiler went past that point.

Next the compiler started complaining about a missing leveldb directory. So I installed libleveldb but didn't make a difference (the dir is missing from the Bct /src/ directory. After wasting a good 45 minutes I finally gave up.
