The suspense. I like it.

This Zedicus account is definitely hacked.

I wouldn't say conclusively it's been hacked yet, but currently all the signs indicate it's true - including his willingness to sign a message. I know for a fact that if I was hacked I would be more than happy to sign a message. We just need the actual signed message and we're pretty much good to go.

PS: Might as well sneak in my address - just in case I do get hacked I have a reference post. 1Light1BN9Lu38Jab9iqVmJXt4Rc66WAoB.
342  Other / Meta / Re: Account Hacked Help Plz! on: August 16, 2014, 10:12:31 AM
I would recommend contacting Stunna about this matter as well, since payday is on the 17th. If bayuo can prove his/her claim, then we can stop any payments to the hacker. If not, then we can all vouch for zedicus in the future.

Yeah, I'll send a PM to Stunna explaining the situation, don't want the possibility of a thief benefiting from their crime.

@bayuo: You still have to send the signed message to theymos - while it helps us in helping you, we cannot actually reset your account for you. Do you have a direct post from which you posted an associated address from which you are signing the message?
343  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: August 16, 2014, 10:08:51 AM
I like the idea. I said it earlier and I will say it again: you have to cut campaigners. The reason the PD signature is frowned upon by some members of the forum is because of the low quality posts of some of those having it. With the amount of people that are currently enrolled it is not possible to check them all as thoroughly as needed. Less campaigners means less work to check their post quality means less room to slip through with bad posts. At the same time those that you have to let go can work for themselves with the referal link.

People complaining about spam is not the problem IMHO, people get banned for spam is a problem if they have your signature. It sheds a bad light and while they say: there is no bad publicity, that is not true here.

It's not simply the low quality posts - it's the large sum of low quality posts. I have no problems whatsoever with people who don't have English as their first language, but when I see random grammatically incorrect phrases in the off-topic section being spammed by a guy with a PD sig it kind of annoys me. Extrapolating this from myself, I would say people get a negative impression - it sort of feels like their being paid to spam.

That being said, I'm not sure how well referral links by themselves will work out - considering the volume of participants we have currently it would likely mean that there are very few referrals to a person. And it still would not deal with the spam issue - people will have more exposure with more posts, it's just basic math.
344  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wikipedia Raises 237 BTC Through Donations In One Week on: August 16, 2014, 09:57:19 AM
On the other hand, Wikipedia is run by a bunch of greedy people who survive on bribes from the organized cabals who control many of its articles (especially in the politics and religion sections).

Really, I thought with Wikipedia it was free for the public to edit - although moderated to remove useless and incorrect material that hadn't had proper citing. Are you trying to say that the articles are designed to be biased towards specific causes?
345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Easiest (secure) way to send bitcoins from an old wallet? on: August 16, 2014, 09:53:02 AM
I did the pywallet/Multibit thing (on a backup Linux laptop that's never been used much) and it worked great. Thanks for everyone who responded.

No problemo. Nice to see a good resolution to these problems for once - too many stories about deleted/destroyed HDDs with no chance of recovery.
346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: German Startup Says Its New Chip Halves Bitcoin Mining Energy on: August 16, 2014, 09:50:53 AM
Can miner profit from the energy saving miner? Is the saving worth the cost?

Depends on how the miner is priced. If it costs more than the others to a greater extent than the margin saved on electricity then it won't be worth it. But if they keep a similar price as current competitors it will be more efficient - nonetheless you may still not actually make a profit.

I'd be interested to see if these chips actually come out anytime soon and whether their claims are actually backed up in a real world scenario.
347  Other / Meta / Re: Account Hacked Help Plz! on: August 16, 2014, 07:36:30 AM
^^ I can easily proove its my account. What i need is to get the attention of a mod so they can disable the account until my proof is confirmed and the account is recovered.

If you can prove it's your account please do so. I'm not exactly sure what disabling the account will do - anyway regardless, the most a mod could do for you is to ban the account in question for a period of time.

It looks like this user is trying to steal an account with zero proof of anything. If he had signed a message then theymos would have reset the password email for him so he can reset his password.

This is a new low for scammers.

I must say, given that the style of writing of your account has shifted a lot since (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=87896;sa=showPosts;start=80) I would consider you rather suspicious. Any explanation for that?
348  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: buying bitcoins in the USA on: August 16, 2014, 07:27:50 AM
I would say Coinbase, Bitsimple and LB. Considering you don't like coinbase and LB, you could consider Bitsimple I suppose - I'm pretty sure it's run by DeathandTaxes (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=41048) or at least he has a strong affiliation with it.
349  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Need a Virtual Private Server on: August 16, 2014, 07:21:41 AM
Try Chunkhost (if you want to pay in BTC), and DigitalOcean (if you want to pay in FIAT).

Yeah DigitalOcean and OVH are both fine options - you'll have to see if you can get your BTC exchanged for USD (be careful if you're using PP - please trade with trusted members). Check out the currency exchange section (on this forum) if you want to get a trade done.
350  Economy / Lending / Re: 5$ worth of btc needed on: August 16, 2014, 07:19:16 AM
the negative rating was put from a previous member coz i had asked a loan as a noobie, so whats dproof ne ways ?

You still are a newbie...
Nothing has changed - stop trying with this account, just go make another shill so we can get on and deny you again. Whatever you do, if you're trying to get a loan which is not going to be repaid (AKA charity) we're going to be here to stop you.
351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The most Overused Words in Bitcoin History on: August 16, 2014, 06:37:11 AM
Forgetting the main word.

Bitcoin.

On a serious note though, there are always going to be a set of buzzwords/keywords that are consistently used when people choose to talk about anything - literally everything has it's own niche set of words associated with it.
352  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Paper wallets on: August 16, 2014, 02:09:07 AM
Bitaddress.org is good and reputable, and you can download it from its github repository and run it from an offline computer for extra security if you'd like.

Bitaddress is fine. If you want different designs you can try bitcoinpaperwallet.com/ which uses bitaddresses code to produce keys but just gives you some nicer designs to play around with. I would suggest that you encrypt these with BIP38 just to be sure.
353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The $100->$1200 BTC bubble! on: August 16, 2014, 01:40:09 AM
How many people do you think made millions in profits off the BTC bubble?

Depends when you decided to sell off. I do know for a fact that some of the older members did sell at the $1K mark (not sure if they actually managed to hit the peak - but close enough) predicting that it might be a popping bubble and hence made a decent profit off of it. I'm not sure whether any single individual actually sold enough to make millions from that move - not many people have that many BTC.
354  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: is this dice game site cheating ? on: August 15, 2014, 09:15:32 AM
You cannot show a dice site is cheating you unless you can prove there is a flaw in the system such that they can change a result before you roll. Seeing as you can't actually do that with much ease - the other alternative is to run 1 billion bets and look at the amount of variation. If you get more than 1% variation at 1 billion rolls I'd say you have discovered a problem. Given the fact your assumptions are based upon a grand total of < 100 bets, they are meaningless.

Placed in wrong section.
356  Economy / Currency exchange / [WTB]$25 USD Prepaid Credit Card on: August 14, 2014, 10:37:17 AM
As topic states, I'm looking for a $25 USD Prepaid Credit Card (Visa or Mastercard is fine) so I can make a small purchase. If I recall right, you can just buy these from your local newsagency etc.

Please post your prices.

I'd prefer if you go first - unless you're more trusted in which case I'll be happy to go first. If not escrow can be used.
357  Economy / Lending / Re: wanted a a loan of 0.1 for 7 days on: August 14, 2014, 07:52:28 AM
still i m not lying i see +5 trust.. not lying i created a thread about this i see +5 under my account but when i see from other account i see 0 so on of the staff member replied that the users who gave you trust feedback is not in trust list.. but it counted as +trust..

You see +5 due to the fact that you've added those members to your trust list. Nobody else sees that currently because no one on DefaultTrust has added them into it because they don't consider those people trustworthy. Hence that trust is pretty worthless to us - I could create a load of accounts and leave positive feedback - it's meaningless.

Now considering this and the fact you're still pretty new I'd say you'd at least start by offering collateral and explaining the purpose of loan and the ability to pay back. If you can't satisfy these criterion you won't get a loan.
358  Economy / Lending / Re: 0.2 BTC returned 0.25 in 1 week. on: August 14, 2014, 07:47:54 AM
Your assuming that the coin will remain profitable to mine and that there are always profitable coins to mine. The reality is that even if they are they in all likelihood will not have enough volume on an exchange to trade for leaving you with worthless crapcoins that you cannot use to repay.

All this is assuming you even get a loan - which I can say with a lot of confidence you won't. You have a new account and no actual useful collateral.
359  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: First Ponzi Service on: August 14, 2014, 07:34:10 AM
The idea here is to provide long-lasting service, and become a brand so to say. Naturally there will be restarts from time to time. But our mission is to show that ponzies can be a legit gambling form.

You say you want to provide a long lasting service without scamming someone. Eventually the poor guy at the end will get ripped. Right now ponzis are synonymous with scams for a reason - because the owners just wait for enough deposits then run away with them. Do you see why there aren't any old age accounts running ponzis? Because they all scam and run and the ac out goes inactive. Want to run a legit service - give your details to an escrow and have them verified, so that you can be tracked down if you do run. If not, I highly doubt how you can convince people that your not like the rest who want to just run with people's money.
360  Economy / Economics / Re: Does BTC.com Really Worth $1 Million? AND What Would You Do With it? on: August 14, 2014, 07:27:20 AM
If that guy thinks its worth that much then it probably is. For monetization, i would list a couple of exchanges on it coz alot of exchanges would pay top dollar to get listed on such a  premium domain.

Not really. Perceived value =/= actual/intrinsic value. Some people are willing to pay significantly more than market price just because they want it so badly they are willing to pay a mark up, want to beat the bids of competitors by a significant margin so that they scare away the other bidders or because they've been conned.
