601  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Steam Account 470 games on: June 02, 2014, 12:58:26 AM
I want to sell my Steam Account with 470 games. Vac status "in good standing", never banned. Why sell? Because I don't have time to play these games and I need money. Steam Calculator worth - $6000.

How would a buyer avoid you simply claiming to steam that your account has been hacked after you've sold it? It's not hard for you to send an email to Steam support telling them someone else has accessed and locked you out of your account and Steam will see that the IP is from a different location from usual. Even escrow won't help unless the funds can be escrowed forever and that defeats the purpose as you won't be able to use the funds. A bit of a conundrum...
602  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Why arent you running a full node? on: June 02, 2014, 12:54:28 AM
Because it takes too long for me to download the blockchain and I don't want to be using all my bandwidth uploading and downloading on a continuous basis to other peers. Not all of us live in America where unlimited internet is a standard. Not to mention I don't want to have to run my computer 24/7 which is what you're meant to do if you truly want to run a full node properly.
603  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How do I take a backup of my electrum wallet ? on: June 02, 2014, 12:52:26 AM
I want it to be such that if my computer gets destroyed , I can have a copy stored on cloud storage.
But this would need to be such that it could be encrypted with a simple password.

As long as you have set up a password for your wallet it will be encrypted meaning that without the password no one will be able to spend the coins. Electrum already offers this in built, check the tabs at the top. From there you'd just upload the wallet file to your cloud service if choice and I would advise you run 2FA on it just in case (can't be too safe).
604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What kind of cold storage do you use? on: June 02, 2014, 12:48:38 AM
Separate air gapped computer running Electrum so that I can sign txs offline and simply watch my address on my online computer. Have a couple of BIP38 encrypted versions of those addresses stored on paper wallets in various locations should anything happen to my computer.

608  Economy / Speculation / Re: This forum is full of future millionaires on: June 01, 2014, 04:55:44 AM
Massive adoption by nearly everyone in most major economies would bring the price of Bitcoin to 1 million USD and more. I don't say it will happen, but if it happens, this is the kind of figure we are looking at. Not 100K.

Strong inflation of the FIAT currencies which is happening right now and accelerating would also multiply the nominal value of Bitcoin over the years. If real inflation reaches more than 20%, which it will, we are looking more into 10 million USD per BTC in the best case scenario within 10-20 years.

But full adoption is not a certainty of course. However, even a 5% adoption can bring the value of bitcoin to 100 000 in the next few years.

100K and 1 mill are simply arbitrary values with no meaning without mathematics. I simply said 100K because OP was assuming that those with 10BTC or more would have at least 1 mill and I gave a scenario that I was fairly sure would suffice. I doubt anyone would be capable of actually estimating the value of Bitcoin given a specific number of people using it on a day to day basis. For all you and I know it could be 10 million.

I'd tend to disagree with that statement - it seems to be a bit exaggerated. Do you have any maths to actually suggest a USD$10million value in that timeframe?
609  Other / Meta / Re: Just a question about begging [Lending section] on: June 01, 2014, 01:02:13 AM
If you're desperately looking for free coins then you're best bet would be to check out the Games/Rounds sub here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=71.0

As stated, any begging spam located in this sub will be deleted and reported - so don't do it.
610  Economy / Speculation / Re: This forum is full of future millionaires on: June 01, 2014, 12:59:09 AM
It's a nice idea, but really I don't believe we'll reach $100,00 USD a coin anytime soon. I doubt it'd even be in my lifetime. It would take massive adoption by nearly everyone in most major economies for us to have the price spike to that point - and realistically I doubt that will be the case until we can convince laypeople to use Bitcoin (considering that most don't understand it).
611  Other / Meta / Re: Donators on: June 01, 2014, 12:49:42 AM
It will be good if names of people donated like 0.1 BTC to the forum appear on this list also . If 50-60$ are small amount for donation.. Smiley

You can donate all you like. If you don't hit those milestones theymos has already stated you're not going to get Donator/VIP status as it wouldn't be fair to the other donors. Aside from the possible ego boost, I wouldn't be too worried about it, Donator/VIP doesn't give you much except a different coloured shiny coin.
612  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Question on moved wallet on: June 01, 2014, 12:45:46 AM
Its the same wallet (address), its just now on the multibit program. (doesn't multibit get its info from blockchain?)
So if I send the coins using multibit (which seems to list the transaction as verified) will it cause a problem or not?

You shouldn't have a problem. As long as your Multibit client sees that the other transaction is confirmed, then you should be fine to send off coins. It simply looks like an error on Blockchain.info's site rather than an actual problem with the transaction if Multibit is telling you the tx was confirmed.
613  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does martingale really works? on: June 01, 2014, 12:31:12 AM
The 4th was me, just wanting to put an end to it. I couldn't bear to wait a week before checking the result.

Ouch, poor dandiilion that's quite a bit to lose. I'm glad I didn't make the play - seemed less likely than that +100 odds you were offering doog. Interesting to see such a massive set of losing streaks, would've freaked out the person who got them.

615  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Theft from Electrum 1.9.8 wallet on: May 31, 2014, 05:53:17 AM
Also, they may have your private key so a password wouldn't matter.

This was probably the reason why you managed to get hit twice by the thief. If your coins get stolen you have to assume the your private key has also been compromised and hence you should immediately generate a new wallet with a new password. No point in storing coins in an address where the thief has control over it.
616  Economy / Services / Re: WE PAY FOR SIGNATURE EVEN MORE. UP TO 0.0016 BTCs PER POST. WEEKLY PAYOUTS. on: May 31, 2014, 12:36:28 AM
If staff was banning people for spamming, and blocking them from creating new accounts, people would quit doing it. As long as they continue to allow some to do it, many more are going to as well. This is why you have to be PROactive, not REactive.

See the thing is that unless their IP banned you can't block them from creating a new account and as such you might accidentally get someone else if your perpetrator has a dynamic IP. AFAIK the best they can do is what they are doing - giving ban extensions for people who clearly are evading their ban.
617  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Want to test the Bitcoin education scholarship donation system? on: May 31, 2014, 12:21:36 AM
Do you have a .edu e-mail address? I don't mean to be suspicious but you would not believe the sheer amount of scams that we get here.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. Real educational organisations should have no issues in getting the verification necessary to get an edu domain and email address. It's not that hard for people to buy a .org domain.
618  Economy / Lending / Re: ★★★ Offering Loans! [Up to 0.5] ★★★ on: May 30, 2014, 06:29:37 AM
Still offering loans. All terms are negotiable.

It seems as if this is flawed to be honest. I'd rather have a better collateral.

Welp, it's sort of an insured leap of faith. If he defaults and the value goes down dramatically I'll be at a loss - but not such a major loss (probably lose some hope for humanity though). But I've weighed up my options and decided that is was worth the risk. We'll see how it goes.
620  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn up to 2.4 BTC/Month by Posting on: May 30, 2014, 12:48:38 AM
Each feedback is worth exactly the same, except that every 25 BTC risked counts for another feedback as far as I'm aware. The algorithm is quite complex, for example you can not get green trust within a month of joining the forum.

So basically, if Stunna gave out a second trust feedback to everyone who already has one, they would move to green? Or would the block number of the right side just increase without changing the overall colour to green?
