341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everything you wanted to know about Grayscale BTC Trust but were afraid to ask! on: February 13, 2024, 02:14:01 AM
According to some rumors, the New York State Attorney General's office will be expanding the civil lawsuit against the Digital Currency Group and there will also be a case against Gemini. This is head shaking because there are allegations that Barry Silbert, Digital Currency Group and Gemini commited fraud on their customers.

This might cause more dumps on GBTC? The skeptical me thinks Larry Fink wants cheaper bitcoins heheehhe.

Link or it didn't happen..

Yes. .I know you are saying "rumors," but still that is pretty vague...

What happened?  A little birdie told you?

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

he is talking about
https://ag.ny.gov/sites/default/files/2024-02/genesis-amended-complaint.pdf

Thank you. Yes this will certainly cause fear, uncertainty and a big dump if this news becomes the next big storyline in the cryptospace hhehehe. Will this have an attention from the community similar to FTX?

However, I would not be shocked if mayor Larry Fink wants a big dump on the market to occur. He will be there happy for everyone to dump on his face with his mouth open.
342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC likely to approve spot Ethereum ETFs on May 23 on: February 13, 2024, 01:39:11 AM
This article mentioned that 8 applicants of the Ethereum spot ETF have also applied for a Bitcoin spot ETF and all of them have been approved. This makes the approval for the Ethereum very much near to a certainty, I reckon. Thank you to the new mayor of Bitcoin, Blackrock CEO Larry Fink hehehee.

Franklin Templeton (BEN.N), opens new tab on Monday disclosed that it had officially filed for a spot ethereum exchange-traded fund, becoming the eighth player vying to introduce a similar product in the market.

With Franklin's registration, there are now eight ETF providers competing to introduce spot ether ETFs, all of whom rolled out spot bitcoin products in January.

343  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for February on: February 13, 2024, 12:37:44 AM
The poll needs a "weird" option for me to choose because I still think the market is going to continue being weird.

But from the two choices I vote UP because we've already had the ETF drama last month and it "squeezed" out anybody that it could so it is time for the rises to begin as the weak hands are out and there is no more short term hypes to disrupt the market.

Hehehee I very much agree on this market being weird. It appears the new mayor of Bitcoin wants to rewrite history be causing the first all time high before the halving has occured. This will certainly feel very strange for people like you who have been here before 2014 hehe.

According to Bernstein anaysts, this is only the beginning.

At this point, investment company Bernstein analysts stated that further rises will come in Bitcoin.

Stating that ETFs will increase the Bitcoin price, analysts said that the ETF-focused market will create FOMO in investors and therefore they believe that Bitcoin's strongest period has not yet come.

344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia April 20 WBC junior welterweight title on: February 12, 2024, 04:15:59 AM
And I'm not surprise that Ryan is a big underdog, his style tailor fights that on Haney. Haney will do Floyd here, just pot shot and jabs every round to win by a huge score from the judges.

Ryan is a knockout artist so Haney will do Floyd to avoid being knockdown or worst knockout. Though both fighters benefited from this fight but I think it is Haney who benefited more as he can't sell a fight on his own, I mean he is not a crowd drawer unlike Garcia who had a lot of followers on social media thus he needs less promotion on his upcoming fights.

I very much agree on Haney will do Floyd hehehe. I voted for Devin Haney by a decision but everyone should not underestimate Ryan Garcia for this fight. Haney might be a difficult fight for Ryan, however, I would speculate that Haney is also a less difficult for King Ry if compare this with the fight vs. Tank Davis.

It also appears Golden Boy was only making negotiations difficult for Rolly Romero and Pitbull Cruz because Devin Haney was also being negotiated already and Oscar dela Hoya wanted Haney hehehehehe.
345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: February 12, 2024, 02:34:34 AM
This Darrell Luter is an agent of the Illuminati. The storyline for this game is written already similar to a movie screenplay. This will go to overtime where there will be much worry and suspense. The camera will begin to have more attention on Tayor Swift, her pretty face, her nervius emotion and this will change to cheers and celebration after Patrick Mahomes throws the ball to Travis Kelce for a touchdown and another superbowl. The ending very much like a fairytale. 20 - 13, Thank you for watching.

Sorry @bbc.reporter, they've all been accounted for!

We did all random, so no favorite picks (or strategizing) haha. I have 15 right now, could let go of a few of them perhaps if you'd really like to join Smiley

No, it is okay. You enjoy the game hehe. Good luck to eveyone!

@Hhampuz. If it is not too late to choose these squares, I want to join! Put me on [Kansas 0, San Francisco-6], [Chiefs 6, San Francisco 3] and [Kansas 0, San Francisco 9], [Kansas 3, San Francisco 1] and [Kansas 8, San Francisco 7].

Payment to be done through Duelbit signature campaign's payment if this is okay with you hehehe.

Good luck to the 49ers. The better team is them, however, we cannot underestimate Patrick, Travis and their mascot, Taylor. It appears there is a script being created for this superbowl.

348  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for February on: February 11, 2024, 07:32:46 AM
On the 8 bearish voters for no, what is the price that will change your minds to yes hehehee. According to the latest news articles, the spot bitcoin ETF issuers are presently twapping bitcoin increasingly and they have recently seen the largest net inflows of bitcoin since the ETFs were approved by uncle Gary. I would also not underestimate Larry Fink the new mayor of bitcoin hehe.

350  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is the Binance the next to bite the dust or FUD? on: February 11, 2024, 06:11:45 AM
Yes, we can argue that he did this for more profit. Binance is a business but what it also did was not bow down to regulators easily.
I have no problems with him wanting to make money (don't we all), but I don't think that he can be seen as some sort of "protector of anonymity and privacy" since he had to sacrifice that and make many compromises in order to expand his business.

Regarding not bowing down to regulators easily, he even boasted that in his response to CFTC that "Binance.com is the first global (non-US) exchange to implement a mandatory KYC program, and remains today to have one of the highest standards in KYC and AML" so I don't think that's true.

No, I am not arguing that he is a protector of anonymity and privacy. What I am arguing about is for whatever CZ's reasons are, whether profit or protection of illegal activities through the exchange, he did not bow down immediately and he made it difficult for the regulators to force their demands on him and his business.

I speculate that it might be his friends and the other close executives who were loyal to him that might have influenced him to accept the deal with the DOJ to save Binance.

On boasting about mandatory KYC. This is marketing to make it appear safe for the users, I reckon hehehehe. Do you know how Binance became the no.1 exchange in the world? This was during forced KYC from the American regulators. Bittrex  was no.1 then implemented KYC. Their users left and who was there to accept them without KYC? Binance.

Binance did not implement KYC until it was impossible for them.
351  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: New SEC Requirement for DEX Liquidity Providers on: February 10, 2024, 06:56:31 AM
That looks absurd to me as the SEC only governs the US financial system. Why would anyone outside the US try to go for it? They can easily leave the US and operate in a third world country without getting traced. DEX was built because CEX failed to comply with the concept of privacy, it is easy to make a CEX follow its rules whereas it is not easy for anyone even the government to control a DEX which is being controlled by an anonymous owner and their employees.
The SEC  only governs the American financial system, but America rules the world. All countries in the world fear American sanctions, so they will abide by American laws and standards. Therefore, the laws enacted by America quickly turn into almost universal laws.

In addition, all large companies want to work in the United States because it is the center of global finance and trade, but with such strict laws, I think that companies will leave the United States little by little to search for a more open environment.

Also, America's enforcement of regulations and rules being created under their jurisdiction might become the template for other countries to follow and implement under their jurisdictions. It is very head scratching when some people in this forum expressed happiness and cheer when the American government began taking down CZ. It was for them very a bullish act, however, what it was is the beginning of creating new limits on our freedom in the cryptospace.
352  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is the Binance the next to bite the dust or FUD? on: February 10, 2024, 05:28:46 AM
I recently heard that Monero was delisted from Binance. This is the effect after CZ agreed to the deal the DOJ was offering him. He has bowed to them and Binance is presently under their control.
He already delisted Monero in other countries (for example Australia) before this latest news so this is not a new thing and I don't think that it has anything to do with the deal.

He was protecting the freedom to use his exchange and also protecting anonymity and privacy.

I think he likes profit way more than he likes protecting anonymity and privacy because if he wasn't, he still woulnd't have mandatory KYC.

However, I reckon Binance.com would never have bowed similar to it has after CZ's retirement as CEO. Binance.com was one of the last of the big exchanges to continue on the acceptance of Monero and when Binance.com delisted this, others will certainly follow.

Yes, we can argue that he did this for more profit. Binance is a business but what it also did was not bow down to regulators easily.

On mandatory KYC, this is not negotible. It is a compliance nightmare that much of these exchanges of size will need to do unless they want to be the size of Tradeogre hehehehe.
353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC likely to approve spot Ethereum ETFs on May 23 on: February 10, 2024, 04:16:16 AM
I believe that SEC working towards making crypto ETF's a reality is not really a big deal, it has to do with what they are going to do with what happens afterwards. Sure ETF could see some attention at first but that doesn't mean that it will be the most important part right away, it has to work a bit longer for that to work before we get there.

I believe that the best thing to do in this case would be just letting it be and you could actually come up with a good return. I hope that life would be fair towards ETF investors but the reality is that we could see it drop as well. Not this year, not next year neither, because we will have a bull season, but then we are going to end up with something that would be a lot worse.

However, it is a big deal. Many holders in the cryptospace community have waited very long for years on when the institutional investors would enter and buy cryptocoins and for us to begin dumping on their faces heheheh.

These ETF approvals on Bitcoin are only  the beginning. There will be Ethereum approvals next then there might be another ETF application for other cryptocoins and tokens. This is a very big occurrence.
354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: February 10, 2024, 03:35:09 AM
~

Sure, unlike many other countries around the world, the power of the government in the United States is not centralized in the figure of the President, here is common for the president to do whatever he wants, specially because he has gotten the support of the congress and the rest of the branches of the government, but that is not necessarily what is going to happen if Trump wins, he could still have much opposition in the Senate  and house of representatives.
Perhaps, you are right and the help for Ukraine won't completely stop, but I am sure there will be Republican and even lobbies paid by the Kremlin itself to try to reduce the amount of the aid sent to your country. Hopefully I am wrong, though.

I have got the impression the United States, same as many other countries around the world, is not the kind of democracy which tries to implement what the people wants, but what the donators and the established billionaires want. It takes a look at the relationships between the members of the Supreme court of the United States and some rich people who try to use their gifts and money to influence on the decisions of the court.

Anyways, let us see if Biden can beat Trump once more and continue to support your Republic another ,four years...

No, you are not wrong. Unfortunately, a lot of officials in the West are paid by the Kremlin. If not for them, Russia would be defeated by Summer 2022. But most people in the Western governments are not that corrupt, and that's I'm sure if Trump will be elected the help for Ukraine won't stop. It's because Russia can't buy most of the U.S. officials.

Meanwhile Trump is getting more and more support fro the bettors:

Now I'd even say it's not that interesting to bet him, to be honest.

Why would not be interesting to bet on him? Only because the odds?
I believe this may be one of the most important and relevants presidential elections in the history of the modern United States or America, so there are a lot of reasons not only to vote in them if one is a Citizen of that country, but also to bet on one candidate, according to what we believe it could happen.
The odds of Donald Trump could easily be influenced by the decisions to be taken by the justice system in the United States, for now it was been clear indictments alone are not enough to make their voters to go away, though, some surveys have suggested he would start to lose much of his backing if he indeed is found guilty of some felony. That may cause his odds to dump very hard and give advantage to Joe Biden.

Also, I knew there were some Russian influence in the West, specially in west Europe and the United States, but I did not know it has so big that they prevented Ukraines victory two years ago. Where did you find that information?

Sportsbooks do not offer odds without any counted or measured basis. These offers are not based news or their opinions. These are based on numbers and data because if they are not, sportbooks would be bankrupt already hehehe.

Also, on the Ukraine war, Noam Chomsky who is a leftist political commentator said that Trump would have dome better for Ukraine because what he might do is make negotiations with Russia to prevent war. He did this during his administration, this is way Russia avoided starting it.
355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 09, 2024, 07:50:40 AM
^^ There are a lot of worthy fights on 140 lbs in my opinion.

And I think this is good as well, maybe we will see champions vs champions later, but Lopez is defending his belt against a tough opponent. Although Ortiz lost to Loma, it was a great fight and he give everything he can against Loma that time and if not for the experience of Loma in the late rounds, he could have pulled a upset in that fight.

And we have seen that Ortiz is too big at 135 lbs, and so a move to 140 lbs might do good him for him as he will have a crack at the belt that Teo has.

Agreed and there are boxers in the lightweight division who can move to super lightweight and also the same for super lightweight who can move down to lightweight division. I speculate that if Tank Davis unifies the lightweight division he might challege all champions in the super lightweight divisions and also unify it. This is if Devin Haney has not yet done it hehehe. Also Shakur can also move up to super lightweight to challenge Teo or Haney. We might also see Shakur vs. Tank in super lightweight, I reckon.
356  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: New SEC Requirement for DEX Liquidity Providers on: February 09, 2024, 06:47:25 AM
Seems like it only applies to those living in the US. I mean, technically, if you service US-based clients and are not cleared with the SEC, seems like it could create some legal trouble. But they'd have to bother finding out who you are, do a full investigation, and then bring extraditable charges against you.

The whole point of a DEX is that nobody can shut it down as there is no single point of failure, legally or otherwise. In principle, anyway.

This is certainly why the future of DeFi and the cryptospace is to go anonymous very much similar to many ICO projects during 2016 and 2017. There will be scammers, however, there will also be good projects being created. It will be the responsility of the trusted people of the community to inform others on which projects to use.

I reckon this is the real purpose of the community and this forum also. People who have been here longer have a responsibility that newbies should not be scammed and newbies that become older members should have an inherited responsibility to inform the next newbies.
357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Beterbiev vs. Bivol - Undisputed Light Heavyweight Championship on: February 09, 2024, 05:43:49 AM
@Baofeng. I very much agree on the no boycott. Mucn of the world might have also forgotten about the war on Ukraine vs. Russia or much of the people have stopped caring. We are very distracted by all these new information being shown to us constantly by the internet.
Yes, I do agree, the war has been forgotten already and the world is back to normal already and so sports shouldn't be affected by what the geo-political events that is going on beyond and behind.

Mauricio Sulaiman also appears to have caring because he is allowing Beterbiev to fight a Russian national hehehehe. Sulaiman had very strong objections against Russia's war and Putin before hehe. Also, on which side is Saudi Arabia? I reckon they denounced Russia's actions against Ukraine. Everyone knows I like conspiracy theories, you know what I am implying with this hehehehee.
I guess it's all about the money, and if it is good for WBC and the Sulaimans, the fight will go and continue regardless of who they support or what is their political believes are. Saudi doesn't care as well, it's sports for them, they have the luxury, rich oil money flowing to boxing and who wouldn't want it? All of them are into it, Arum, Hearn, Sulaiman and every entities in boxing and they will say yes to Saudi Arabia right now as what fight they want to see.

It has always been about money and also maybe making an agreeable decision. When the war in Ukraine was only beginning, making the decision of letting Russian athletes compete was very unpopular. Many people wanted a boycott and this forced sports organizations to ban them. I reckon the only big sports organization that allowed Russian athletes to continue was the UFC under uncle Dana's instructions.

I recently heard that Monero was delisted from Binance. This is the effect after CZ agreed to the deal the DOJ was offering him. He has bowed to them and Binance is presently under their control.

Opposite to many arguments, CZ was not protecting criminals using his exchange. He was protecting the freedom to use his exchange and also protecting anonymity and privacy. If the government can force Binance to delist Monero, it can also force many exchanges to delist this. On 2030 the only centralized exchange that might be accepting Monero will be only Tradeogre.

Is Taylor Swift a Pentagon asset?

Oh no, you've done it now. Black helicopters incoming. It was nice knowing you. I have no idea who this person or anyone in this thread is.

In any case, if anyone wants to play fantasy football, there are daily fantasy leagues in Duelbits for the NFL. I discovered this only yesterday while looking for the odds in the superbowl. There is also a freeroll if you do not want to play the leagues with entry fees. However, these $2.50 and 12.50 leagues are cheap enough, I wish I saw them from the beginning of the season.

Lot's of crazy prop bets for Taylor like what color shirt will she be wearing, if she'll be shown on TV eating a hotdog or not, etc lol.

What kind of odds can I get she wears a pink shirt while eating a hot dog? How about 8:1?

Yes and how big is the hotdog.
360  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: More Regulation Incoming! on: February 08, 2024, 03:49:54 AM
It is these types of news articles that manipulate the minds of the people who do not participate in the cryptospace or are not part of the community. It is very head shaking because those types of people will believe anything they read from the manipulative and corrupt mainstream news industry.

My argument against this is, it might be because the cryptospace for finance is faster, cheaper, more anonymous, more private and much better to use for everyone including criminals.
