From what I saw about what was available publicly, can't help but agree with the education part. Yes, you can say that with the advance of tech, education has become rather easy to access but at the same time maybe because of that, education while growing up seemed to have lost the majority of its importance for most people. Politics has been, well, a mess since like a couple of years ago already.

As for the YOLO part, well, idk. This stems from how people live their life and their surroundings really so can't judge, but based on my surroundings I don't think I've ever seen one with that same mindset. It might just happen to my area all the same given the time though since I've seen online how extreme people can go when their opinions vastly differ from others which god knows was formed from where.
342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What remarkable thing have you achieved with the money you won from gambling? on: February 04, 2024, 12:13:37 PM

Gambled it back Wink. Kidding aside, yes I gambled it back. I never have been able to get money out from gambling to be used outside since it was never anything substantial. If it was something big though then I would've bought stocks, invested in business, or bought a plot of land. But nothing of the sort has happened so whatever wins I used turned into a reduction towards the money I put into gambling instead. This has made my investments and savings increase a bit more compared to whatever math I planned out beforehand since the money I sent to gambling was reduced. I think when I was new to gambling and had no sense of money management, the biggest thing I spent was buying a display tablet worth around 300 or so. Probably worth around 350-400 nowadays though.

Reading OPs post... kind of hurts.

Anyway from what I got, this isn't even about gambling (but it is a gamble technically), it's just OP showcasing how he's able to take advantage of whatever Ponzi scam he's talking about. Now far from being about gambling, this is just about investments instead really which btw I don't recommend. It's simply because investments are there to benefit you in the long run most of the time. Instead of wasting your time trying to take advantage of whatever and however you can with ponzi scams, it'd be much better to find a long-term investment that can generate profit for you passively and increase in value in the long run as well.

And if we're comparing gambling and investing, well, it all amounts to risk appetite I guess? I'm more open to risking more in investments since it's, well, investments but with gambling? A clear limit is always set beforehand. Always.

Jesus this is just you being too cautious really. In your neighbor's case sure, all is fine but in you? You can play on crypto casinos if you prefer it but playing on it because you fear for your health? That's just you exaggerating really. Otherwise, you would've expected the majority of the people out there to have underlying diseases, like a LOT of them. In the first place, it depends on what type of sickness you're experiencing if you're allowed not to visit crowded places.

Naturally, it's better to stay indoors to avoid any risk in general, but it's not exactly the best in some cases. Otherwise, you wouldn't see doctors or therapists recommending people to go out from time to time. A bit of sunlight and fresh air can come a long way, especially in terms of your mentality.
345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin ETF really the best to hold? on: February 03, 2024, 12:55:54 PM
I'd like to think of it as a method for people who can't directly buy crypto for some reason or just hate the idea of being their own back and instead trust centralized services to do it for them which provides a whole bunch of convenience for their side. In the first place, I don't think people will buy Bioitcoin, ETF or not, if they want to go against the norms of crypto. They might also have wanted the inherent advantages of what ETF type investments provide itself, whatever those specifically may be.
346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do low fees matter most in choosing crypto platforms, or other factors? on: February 03, 2024, 06:27:27 AM
When choosing a cryptocurrency platform, do you prioritize seeking out those with lower transaction fees, or do other factors such as security, user interface, or available features take precedence in your decision-making? Share your perspective below and let's discuss the key considerations within our community!
I personally choose lower transaction fees, security, and coins listed. There might be other things that come to mind when I pick but those are the ones I'm aware of on the top of my head. Ofc a certain standard is needed for the rest of the standards I left out but the priority would be the ones I stated. There's also a preference for anonymity hence why some people choose to use DEX instead of CEX.

Honestly these "considerations" come up to your own situation. I mean rich people probably wouldn't mind higher fees but for those who go with a strict budget, the lower the fees, the better no? Well, that's just with fees, and anonymity  (from the top of my head) The rest? They just need to reach a ceratin standard, just like any other business/service out there.
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you use profits from the crypto market? on: February 02, 2024, 11:56:41 PM
I am not a professional investor, I DCA so there is less pressure. But to be honest, I still cannot escape all the negative impacts of the market. I hold BTC and I'm happy when the BTC price increases, I'm sad when the BTC price drops, even though I have determined to hold BTC for 1-2 years and will not sell regardless of any fluctuations during that time. I think many other investors also have similar feelings, things will be worse for traders participating in Margin and Future!
Look a bit more farther if you're still feeling the negative impacts. Those said impacts should've been minimized since that's the purpose of DCA'ing after all.

I want to hear from you:
  • Have you ever been profitable and taken profits in the crypto market?
  • How did you use that profit? Do you use that profit or reinvest it?
  • Do you think using profits is also important for your investment journey?
Yes, I've taken profit. Nothing too substantial but at the very least, I've seen a minimum of twice of my initial investment since I started. As for the profit, well, it just went back to crypto again. I rarely use the money I earn from crypto towards something else since I always want to make my portfolio grow. Well vice versa could be said the same though, any profit I make outside of crypto never goes into crypto. So my DCA mostly comes from campaigns and some side gigs I do.

And naturally, using profits is also important. It's pretty narrowminded to think that after an investment profits then it's over. It's why you see businesses constantly push ou new ideas. Because they want their profits to make more profits. It just cycles, and the more it cycles, the greater the profit after each cycle.

Feel free to open the thread. If enough people were to give a response to say, put the thread to about 15-20 pages, you can start creating a mega thread for it and redirecting traffic there for majority of women football events. Though I highly doubt you're going to get enough traffic so if that's your goal, don't expect much. If you really just wanted to share women football news though, then feel free, no ones really stopping you or I highly doubt mods are going to delete it since it's not spam as well.

Well just goes to show how underdeveloped the scene is for them. Or well, not even underdeveloped, just ignored in general with only the bare minimum or so being given. Doesn't help that the men's league is so overwhelmingly big that I highly doubt any sort or form of attracting attention to the female league would immediately die after a couple of weeks.
349  Economy / Economics / Re: A course worth studying ? on: February 01, 2024, 11:06:11 PM

Tech. Though I must say that even though a lot of things can change with tech and there's a lot of areas you can specialize in, there's also a LOT of competition so if you want to get a job out of it, then it'd be hard. But if you just wanted to say learn, innovate, and improve then I'd say tech has a much more open area to it since someone making a brand new discovery at one point can help you make another new one and it just stacks on top of each other.

Ofc this depends on what YOU really want. A lot of people have gone to IT/CS just for the sake of money and well, a lot of them never really made progress or heck, even touched the goal that they set (aka money) after a couple of years and just gave up.
350  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction does more harm than mere financial loss on: February 01, 2024, 10:40:11 PM
~
I mean in a sense, financial loss is merely a byproduct of gambling addiction itself, not the final result. Though most people prioritize making it the main point since it's the most possibly relatable reason, or one that most people can relate with even if they haven't experienced it, compared to other results e.g., Mental insanity, violent tendencies, and other stuff.

I myself used to think being mentally insane was, well, something exaggerated by most people. Then I saw what people did in TikTok and I understood how. Kidding aside (mostly), I don't think it matters much how people look at you, unless ofc that's your job but other than that, it shouldn't matter. What you should be concerned about is how you as an addict is affecting your own personal surroundings, aka friends, familiy, etc.
351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe visiting a seer or spiritual house could make you win a game? on: February 01, 2024, 09:55:33 AM
~
Well if I did, I would've already visited tens of seers trying to hit that juicy lottery reward. Sadly I don't. Not that it was always like that though, but neither is it with seers. I had dreams sometimes, weird ones but still rather vivid to the point where I can remember minor details when I wake up. Among a few of those were instances where random numbers were the highlight. Whether it be some random key combination for a secret cave, a vault, or just the key to my apartment, I used to ask my parents (yes, I was a kid when I remembered those) to play the lottery with the said numbers I remembered.

Sadly, I won nothing big. I won a couple of bucks ,yes, but the amount is basically just me recouping almost all the tickets I used to make them buy me with. And to be fair, even if I won big, I doubt I'd get the money lol.
352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At a range of 2years, can a Bitcoin literate invest with a borrowed fund in BTC? on: January 31, 2024, 10:58:34 PM
~
This all rests on the assumption that his investment would grow within said 2 years. Even if we do consider that there's no interest if he borrowed funds from his friends, it doesn't change the fact that there's no guarantee that he'd get his money back. That guarantee is something those who have their own money and invest with it can afford to not have but those who use loans? They NEED to have that guarantee, and it's just dumb to assume that it's going to naturally happen.

It doesn't matter that many people think that Bitcoin follows the same historical cycle, it can always change at any moment. Just get a job really. Or if he wanted to invest now to not miss out on any possible growth, then get a job and get a loan. Use the loan to invest and use the job income to pay back the loan slowly. This has an issue with the scale of the loan though since it's not realistic to loan a big amount then having a job with peanut salaries.
353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The scam of FAKE fixed matches on: January 31, 2024, 10:45:07 PM
~
Huh, so you're betting on an imaginary match that they made up. Now idk if it's just my mindset or not but I don't think that many people would even fall for this really. It's just... really dumb. Like the internet is there, you're free to look stuff up and the moment someone recommends me to bet on a game since they're guaranteed to win, you bet I'd look that very specific match up. Not in bookmakers though, just pure searching for said specific match.

Not to mention needing to bet on an obscure website. Sure it might be a minor tournament on some small island at some random place, but wouldn't that already scream that it's weird? I swear only people who are that much desperate for money would follow this.
354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Confusion About Insider Gambling on: January 31, 2024, 10:55:04 AM
~
Well, injuries and the like are usually publicized since in the first place they can't play with injuries so I don't think it's part of the "confidential" information. On the other hand, there can be other discrete information that they're not allowed to share to outsiders. It can vary from trading regimes, strategy discussions, and stuff like that. Basically, any information that can give an unfair advantage of sorts or give an edge towards who knows said information, whether it be the opposite team or someone who's betting for that same match.

An example, and probably a pretty stupid one tbf but an example nonetheless, is if a team decides to do strategy X, which they are 100% confident in winning in round Y. Now bettor can create a bet that they'd score for that specific round and easily win, stuff like that. As for officials, no, afaik they're not even allowed to bet.
355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: stop the unnecessary blame on gambling whenever you get unlucky on: January 30, 2024, 11:15:29 PM
~
See the sad thing is the moment you start relying on gambling or trusting it to turn around your life in one moment, you already lost. Unlike investing, which is something you'd truly spend time and effort to make it work, gambling is purely about luck. And just by its definition, luck isn't really something you'd want to rely on all the time. While it's understandable that we all want that moment where we can turn our lives around, which is to say, luck, relying on gambling, which is another form of luck, just seems really dumb. it's like relying on luck squared.

Since people fail to realize that, they start thinking that gambling is just like any other opportunity out there which they can blame. Like that bad manager that refused to promote you, the industry you're in just refused to improve, and stuff like that.
356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Responsible Gambling Practices Most People Ignore and Sleep on on: January 30, 2024, 10:38:57 PM
~
1 & 3 are basically the same imo, they don't differ much since there's not much to manage when it comes to money used in gambling. It's just mostly setting a limit based on your monthly income. Honestly, that's all you'd ever really need to be "responsible" really. The rest is just, well, stuff you'd have to handle if you want a seemingly smooth experience when gambling. 2 and 5 can mostly be about understanding the casino and finding the best one you think personally can serve you the best, and 4 is well, mostly a joke since people can't seem to follow it through whenever they want to self-exclude. They complain why the casino allowed them to cancel their self-exclusion when they requested it themselves lol.
357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You can not win if you do not risk on: January 30, 2024, 12:06:08 PM
~
Pretty sure that applies to everything. Not saying that there are instances where you don't risk anything but still win, just that it's pretty dumb to rely on those instances since they aren't exactly something you can approach or expect. I believe though that gambling offers it more enticingly since compared to risking it all to get your dream job, risking a few bucks to win a couple tens or hundreds of bucks seems much more appealing and easy to handle. In essence, the scale of things differ.

Naturally, anything in excess would be an issue but the point stands that if managed properly, you can get a lot with low risks, which is what most gamblers, especially beginners believe to be their ticket to richdom.
358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone Calls My Child's Name Bitcoin. on: January 29, 2024, 11:04:40 PM
~
I'm just rather curious how it started in the first place though. Like the name-calling would've come from something and personally I don't think any sane person would think that Bitcoin would be a good nickname for someone regardless of their circumstances.

Anyhow, I don't think you're at the risk legally of being noticed by the government. It's just a name, a nickname at that and if you fully push that you don't have any Bitcoin or use crypto in general, I don't think they'd ever know. An investigation would warrant that they have some sort of evidence that you use it, and unless your doctor snitches, you're fine. A name doesn't exactly give out a warrant to be investigated.

Now being checked illegally though, different thing. If you think your place is unsecured, then fix the problems one by one. If you think you can't fix them, then try to move out to a new place. The simplest and cheapest solution to this though is to ask your relatives to call him by his name, or a different nickname though.
359  Economy / Economics / Re: The 150 year old maths and logic theory on the best period to make money: on: January 29, 2024, 10:46:34 PM
~
I highly doubt someone could've predicted the covid pandemic more than a century ago. It doesn't matter that it coincided with the chart you posted OP, math and logic can't actually predict situations like the pandemic unless ofc math and logic back in the days were somehow able to figure out that someone in China would've started getting infected by covid by that year.

I can only see this as nothing more than a coincidence really, if it actually was even a bit accurate. If doing patterns and theories was enough to predict the future, mathematicians would've probably lorded the world by now.
360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are every activities/competitions with stake known to be gambling? on: January 29, 2024, 09:58:17 AM
~
If money is involved. Aka you spent money to earn money. And if said activity, competitive or not, involved a certain amount of luck or to be more specific, the majority of it. Otherwise, it would be a competitive activity instead. There are other instances where luck isn't necessarily a major part of the result, such as sports gambling since you can certainly win bets there with pure skill. But it doesn't remove the fact that there are still factors where luck plays in these types of instances.

Now in the US there's something called a sweepstake where people can participate without money involved but still win money, which I guess doesn't conform to what gambling is. Afaik though the "without money" part is only for the US, other countries, even if they had sweepstakes, still ask for fees similar to how lotteries work.
