3441  Economy / Exchanges / Re: binance showing wrong futures data? on: May 22, 2021, 04:07:19 PM
Not just futures data, Binance is quite a mess during times of volatility lately. If it's not the exchange crashing then they will give inaccurate data including that of their own Binance Leveraged tokens.

Take a look at this case where both UP and Down tokens were all showing losses  Grin

Just see how many traders are complaining in this subreddit with so many different issues due Binance's inaccuracies - https://www.reddit.com/r/Binance_Lawsuit
3442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Binance scamming its users with the up and down tokens . on: May 21, 2021, 06:11:37 AM
I don't know why people trade the shit Binance Leveraged tokens more or so using their life savings. The game is already rigged and therefore you chances of losing are way higher than chances of making returns.

Complaints have been cropping up about Leveraged Tokens. I even remember at one point, they had to delist FTX leveraged tokens from the platform citing lots of losses to traders especially beginners.

Looking at this image, it's a complete shit show

This is what they said about the scenario

Quote
A large volume of leveraged tokens were redeemed when their Net Asset Value (NAV) hit an ATH during a period of very high market volatility on 2021/05/19. This resulted in an erosion of the leveraged tokens’s NAV.
The issue was resolved at 2021/05/19 18:00:00 PM (UTC). We have improved the redemption mechanism to prevent further occurrence.
Affected leveraged token users may submit a claim form here for our verification and processing. We will notify and follow-up with affected users in batches so we thank you in advance for your understanding.
As we are currently experiencing a high number of enquiries, please do note that our response time is therefore longer than usual. Thank you for your patience.

So Imagine newbies who even have no idea what's going on, I wonder how they will know that there is a compensation form to fill up.  Roll Eyes
3443  Economy / Reputation / Re: how has TronBuilding avoided negative trust? (PONZI) on: May 21, 2021, 05:09:30 AM
It's probably because no one made a scam accusation about it so it didn't get noticed by DT members. So, when you see such proven scams in the future, you can just create a scam accusation. Some DT members will easily see it in the scam accusations board to do what's necessary  Wink

Making a scam report can also help people who use search engines to do some research about a site/service before sending them money.
I have decided to tag and flag the profile too - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=2755 (Support/oppose)
3444  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: index Monitor ? on: May 21, 2021, 04:03:40 AM
You can get some of them when you look through tradingview.

1. The most popular one is probably Bitcoin dominance (BTC.D Index) - The higher it is, the most easily Bitcoin price movements influence the whole market.

2. ETH Dominance (ETH.D Index), when it increases, it usually signals the return of altcoin season.

3. CMC200 (Crypto200 Index by Solactive) and CMC200EX index (Crypto200 ex BTC Index by Solactive) both measure the performance of the top 200 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization traded in USD - https://coinmarketcap.com/indices.
3445  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Atomars Scam on: May 21, 2021, 03:27:22 AM
@r34tr783tr78 is right, provide some proofs to make your claim more believable. The reason for providing evidence is to prevent false accusations from happening which is pretty damaging to any entity or person.
OP may have not provided enough proof in the scam accusation but Atomars are proven scammers. In this thread, there are about 3 users complaining about their funds getting locked up in the exchange with no hope of recovering it.

I sometime back created a flag against them. Please support it - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=2745

3446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: XLM conversion to another format using btc or USDT with Binance? on: May 18, 2021, 12:49:43 PM
From what I understand, each crypto trade (buying or selling) is a taxable event. So whether you convert XLM to BTC to SOL or XLM to SOL. You will still have to pay the tax on the gains. There's no way around it. Check this out - https://support.binance.us/hc/en-us/articles/1500004561101-Cryptocurrency-Tax-Reporting
3447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Current Market Cycle Analysis on: May 16, 2021, 10:55:40 PM
Any decent analysis out there about what's going on right now, preferably with reference to on chain data?
Looks like you are going to check out some tools that provide some stats, on-chain and off-chain data that could impact the price positively or negatively but of course as the crypto market is unpredictable at times.

The tools I know may require you to part with some money in form of subscription for pro versions per month

3448  Economy / Speculation / Re: By Friday 5/21 we might be thanking Elon! on: May 16, 2021, 10:22:05 PM
Elon this... Elon that.

Why do we have to think everything rotates around Elon Musk. The crypto market does as it pleases. it was here before Elon Musk came into the limelight and it will be there when he's out of the scene. You can't make conclusion based only on Bull run. Let's wait for the bear market to start and see if there won't price dumps of over 20% in 24 hours
3449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A forum member (Newbie) sent me several bitcoin core wallets on: May 15, 2021, 11:06:15 PM
Why do you think I send them to me if they are practically unbreakable wallets?
it's simple.

Because they want something from you via scam or via planting malware into your computer where they can later steal your credentials or Bitcoins

Why would a newbie send a random member an unsolicited message containing wallet.dat files with no passphrase?
The intention is obviously ill.
3450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to create a Token on TRON or Ethereum? on: May 15, 2021, 09:25:21 PM
There are so many guides online that can help you understand how it can be done. All you need to do is read, practice and understand

3451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to tell when to dump an entire project/coin? Overall gain loss... on: May 13, 2021, 11:58:24 PM
One thing I can tell you is that it's easier making profits right now because it's a bull market. Be very careful not to be greedy or else your profits can get wiped off overnight. Once the bear market starts, you can sell off your assets for stable coins so that your profits are not affected by the dump and then buy the dip and start off allover again with a new bull market. The bull market can only last about a year but bear market can even go for up to 3 years.

So you should be ready to wait for the perfect opportunity. This is why you should you money you can afford to do away with for years.
3452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: chia coin Asic on: May 13, 2021, 10:55:17 PM
I am really amused at how some of these coins try so hard to compare themselves with Bitcoin and how much faster, better and greener they are than Bitcoin but then a few months later, reality hits in  Grin

The Network isn't even a year old and here we are. Imagine what happens it it get flooded by a half of the transactions on the bitcoin or Ethereum networks?
3453  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading based on Open Interest on: May 11, 2021, 11:53:22 PM
Don't take my words for advice but I think Options expiry seems to be the even bigger trading signal.
But he's specifically asking about Open Interest and not Options

OP, Open interest is the total number of contracts in open positions in a market  at a given time. With the help of trading volume Open Interest can be used to help predict a bullish trend, bearish trend or change of trend of the market

Here is a summary from investopedia

3454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Where to buy XRP?? on: May 11, 2021, 11:34:39 PM
It's probably greyed out because of your location. My guess is that you are from the US and almost all exchanges don't trade XRP to US residents or if you IP address shows that you are from the US to avoid getting into trouble with SEC.
So all the exchanges people have suggested that you should use won't work if you try accessing them directly from there.

If you carefully look at the XRP markets in coingecko, you will see  small warning at the top

3455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Where to buy Innosilicon A10 Pro ETH (500Mh) on: May 11, 2021, 10:33:31 PM
So many people have fallen victim to most of the third party mining  equipment stores. Most of them are created to take advantage of the current low supply of miners. Be very careful  Wink

For example, I have seen various members complaining about Sesterce mining and yet it's listed as a "trusted Vendor" in the list of the link you posted above.

I know that the equipment is out of stock currently but why not get in touch innosilicon team via official channels. Maybe you can try to find out from them about their official vending partners/stores
3456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone mining verus on CPU on: May 11, 2021, 10:09:55 PM
Verus is the most profitable coin for cpu mining.

Before mining a coin, I would also first look at the market liquidity of the asset. Yes, it maybe the most profitable to mine via CPU but how easy is it to unload the asset and not just in theoretical terms?

Right now according to Verus coin's Markets as show by coinmarketcap. The 24 hour trading volumes are so low and after a closer look at the orderbooks of the exchanges. The spread is so large and therefore the price of being displayed can be misleading for a person who is thinking of selling their coins at a market price.
3457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Are you guys using coin switch on: May 11, 2021, 09:28:19 PM
From what I can gather, they used to be a good instant swap service but later, they became shitty and turned in to scammers. Safety first. I would avoid the service if I were you

If you want to use trust worthy instant exchanges try the likes of coinplaza.it or fixedfloat.com
3458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Deposit times (ETC) on: May 11, 2021, 09:18:51 PM
Why are you still keeping/coins that have ever undergo a 51% attack. The Ethereum Classic Network has already suffered three 51% attacks and Millions in funds have been lost due to the double spend attacks.

Kraken and all major exchanges are implementing a high number of confirmations to avoid losses due to the attacks.
3459  Other / Meta / Re: Why are "Likes" turned off in this forum? on: May 11, 2021, 07:38:20 PM
Sending Merits to a post is almost the same as liking it if you have loved the content someone has written but Unlike likes, you have to earn at least 2 merits in order to have one sMerit. So this means you will have to be active and contribute positively in the forum if you are to receive any Merits.

Sad news to lose one of us  Cry

I didn't know him closely but I would bump into some of his posts in Beginners and Gambling boards and had noticed his contributions right from the time he was Newbie rank. You could see that he was one of those budding forum members.
My prayers and thoughts to friends and family. May they keep strong during these trying moments
