2581  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Oraminers.com Review For Scam Website - Be Cautious - SCAM on: March 01, 2022, 11:26:10 PM
This is an obvious attempt of defamation and we will contact Bitcointalk staff for a resolution.

Yeah, do it!
Support is at 6969 666-666!

Before that, you might wanna explain this?

I love how you just exposed the scammers  Grin Grin Grin
There is definitely no comeback for oraminers at this juncture,  though I would be interested in their next excuse.

I am flagging and negging them.

2582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Things are changing fast around crypto on: March 01, 2022, 11:12:17 PM
What if the recent price spike was just a bull-trap?  Just thinking out aloud,  Cheesy You can never really predict when the bear market is going to happen. The best way to do mining investment is to do what on member posted above if you are looking at long term. If you are looking for short term gains, it could be a big risk buying the GPUs at inflated prices, but that's the risk you have to think about. Can you take it if things went south?
2583  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: In times of conflict Be your own bank on: March 01, 2022, 10:57:07 PM
Do you have to wait for conflict to take place to remember to be your own bank?  Grin

Nope! Always be your own bank.

International exchanges may restrict or freeze accounts of Russian users without warning. That's a possibility that's can happen with centralized exchanges.
Someone has already experienced this first hand. Bittrex blocked his verified account because he is a Russian Citizen
2584  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance is refusing to block Russian customer's crypto wallets. on: March 01, 2022, 10:28:26 PM
This does not belong to Bitcoin discussion. You should move it to Exchanges board

I mean, why should innocent Citizens suffer because of the indiscreet decisions of their rulers?
So far so good for Binance and some other exchanges, but there might be more to come with time if you read their terms and conditions, especially with Countries sanctioned by the US

For example, Binance says

Quote
d. Prohibition of Use
BY ACCESSING AND USING BINANCE SERVICES, YOU REPRESENT AND WARRANT THAT YOU HAVE NOT BEEN INCLUDED IN ANY TRADE EMBARGOES OR ECONOMIC SANCTIONS LIST (SUCH AS THE UNITED NATIONS SECURITY COUNCIL SANCTIONS LIST), THE LIST OF SPECIALLY DESIGNATED NATIONALS MAINTAINED BY OFAC (THE OFFICE OF FOREIGN ASSETS CONTROL OF THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY), OR THE DENIED PERSONS OR ENTITY LIST OF THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE. BINANCE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE MARKETS AND JURISDICTIONS TO CONDUCT BUSINESS, AND MAY RESTRICT OR REFUSE, IN ITS DISCRETION, THE PROVISION OF BINANCE SERVICES IN CERTAIN COUNTRIES OR REGIONS.
2585  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Does anyone now about this website Storeaus.com on: March 01, 2022, 09:43:45 PM
Just out of curiosity.

Why would you wanna use such a brand-new not so known cryptocurrency exchange yet we have lots of reputable and popular crypto exchanges available?
What's so special about Storeaus.com?

Just looking at the home page alone screams red flags.
2586  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: few questions about trading on: March 01, 2022, 09:30:59 PM
1: what is the different between spot trading and futures trading.
Spot trading involves buying or selling of an asset at the current price of the market. It's meant to be an instant delivery or on the "spot". While futures is a form of derivatives contract to sell/buy an asset at a specified future date.

Quote
between Stop Limit or Stop Loss and
OCO or order cancel order which is the safest for trading.
Depends on your strategy.
Investopedia states it well

Quote
Stop-loss and stop-limit orders can provide different types of protection for both long and short investors. Stop-loss orders guarantee execution, while stop-limit orders guarantee the price.

OCO is a conditional order that good if you are not so much around the trading charts or terminal

4: between spot trading and futures trading which is highly risk and highly reward that uses leverages.
Obviously Futures trading is highly risky and rewarding, It depends on how good or lucky you are.
2587  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a means to restore people's authority over money on: March 01, 2022, 08:58:09 PM
Bitcoin has shown to be a fantastic value store in 2020.
If you consider the whole year, then yes. But short-term, there was a 50% price crash when the pandemic reached Europe and Bitcoin fell from $9/10k to under $5k.
This is dependent on the timing when one bought the BTC, but 2020 was a good year for any Bitcoiner who bought in the first quarter of the year and held it to at least the end of the year.

China has successfully banned BTC mining.
This is a new one for me. So we have no single Bitcoin mining activity in China?

The Russians will discover in Bitcoin a weapon to protect themselves from the collapse of the native currency and the bank limits on withdrawals in particular.

Bitcoin was established to assist individuals to deal with the present system's problems, whether economic or political. And in these gloomy times, Bitcoin is shown to be a vital requirement for the future globe.
This would only work for Russians if they had crypto exchanges exclusively originating from Russia or even good decentralized exchanges. But as we know, most Worldwide centralized exchanges with huge volumes can bend towards US sanction regulations and block their services in Russia.

I think I already saw someone complaining that Bittrex had blocked their account on grounds that he's Russian, which means the financial sanctions are cutting accross.
2588  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: smal USDT balances ?? what to do ?? on: March 01, 2022, 08:38:44 PM
20 USD seems to have a huge loss impact on your business. Try checking out instant exchanges like Fixedfloat.com you might spend less than $5 for that amount trying to convert.

Though this thread is not updated, it might be of help - [list.] Instant exchanges
try checking out different rates on different platforms. Some of them have hidden fees.
2589  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: PROFIT must not be top priority in trading, instead of LEARNING first. on: March 01, 2022, 07:58:44 PM
It's why newbies in trading are always advised to only use money they can afford to lose because making losses while trading is something that will happen throughout a person's trading career.

Even well experienced, and professional traders make bad calls/losses once in a while. The aim of learning is for one to identify the best possible trading strategy they can work with which keeps making more profits than losses over a trading period.
2590  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Short selling on: March 01, 2022, 07:43:50 PM
You do realize you can't borrow without any collateral, right?

When things don't go as planned. Your collateral goes to the lender. Now think about the first scenario but with the collateral in mind.

Scenario 2 and 3 don't make any sense, or maybe I didn't get your point?

2591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What do you think about flux coin? on: February 28, 2022, 11:58:24 PM
Decentralized Cloud infrastructure... huh?

I don't know how many coins have tried the decentralized cloud thingy and failed to live up to the expectations, let alone be the next big thing like Ethereum. The list is endless, but I don't want to be the prophet of doom.

Popularity plays a big role on how big the network will be. Ethereum played that game very well when it came to making the network popular and adoptable by most start-ups.
2592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: is helium a shitcoin and if not then where to get the equiptment ? on: February 28, 2022, 11:21:59 PM
Shitcoin or not, that's now entirely up to your opinion  Cheesy

Hey,

My friend asked me about Helium mining equipment, bobcat miners ... where to get these ?

Their official online shop of course - https://shop.bobcatminer.com/products/bobcat-miner-300
Avoid untrusted thirdparties

and first is helium even worth something to get into ?
It might be, it might not. Time will tell. The coin started out in 2019. Follow the price history on tradingview or coinmarketcap and see if it's worth it

I mean we it creates hotspots but dont we have enough of hotspots already ? can somebody break it down for me what it's all about really ? real simple Cheesy

2593  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to trade cryptocurrencies? on: February 28, 2022, 10:38:35 PM
What are your other sources of crypto trading education?
1. Blogs made by crypto exchanges. I think Binance, Bybit and Bitmex have a good number of trading tutorials
2. YouTube's videos have been my major source of crypto trading Knowledge. But you have to be careful whose videos you watch or who you follow. Some Youtubers are just shills or people who are there to gain view counts and referrals.
3. Articles from sites like investing.com, tradingview etc
2594  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex blocks verified accounts due to one's locale on: February 28, 2022, 10:20:16 PM
Sorry about that.

This is why we should never completely trust centralized exchanges with our funds, especially when keeping the money in there for a long time. With the war raging on between Russia and Ukraine, I think more exchanges, especially those that are highly regulated, are bound to follow the same trend.
2595  Other / Meta / Re: freedom of speech is fine, but where is the limit? on: February 27, 2022, 11:53:13 PM
but where shall we draw the line? In this case, he is here calling for the kill, no matter how naive and stupid it sounds should we allow such speech here?
I look at it as a death threat, which I don't think is allowed here according to the forum rules. Personally, I wouldn't be rattled by any form of death threats by a random online scammer, but we are a community of different people who react differently.

Such users are usually banned, though I am not sure if admin has ever removed or changed such feedback left by users.
2596  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Introducing Bitcoin RSI Tracker on: February 27, 2022, 11:33:36 PM
I appreciate your effort  Wink
Your tool is worth looking into;

1. Is it possible to create the same type of bot, but this time making updates via Telegram?
2. I suggest you link this ANN to the bots Twitter profile
3. Can you explain to me the momentum bit? How does one interpret those figures in regard to the strength of the trend.
2597  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ymdox is scammer on: February 27, 2022, 10:32:27 PM
Well, didn't know people will scam for that low...
Unfortunately they do. I can not locate the exact thread, but there was someone who scammed less than 5 USD and disappeared. The account even had some rank (either full member or Member rank)  Grin
2598  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Watch out for cryptocurrency QR code generators, they're almost all fake! on: February 27, 2022, 09:46:34 PM
Why is no one talking about all the malicious QRcode generators?

Why are you searching them up in the first place? You don't need them at all.

Most wallets and exchange apps have an inbuilt feature where you can generate QR codes for addresses and also scan them, so I don't understand why you look for some random QR code generator or scanner off google.
2599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ETH] Flexpool - New Decade Ethereum Mining Pool (US/EU) [2020] on: February 25, 2022, 11:54:31 PM
FlexPool announces the termination of the service of Russian IP addresses due to the invasion of Ukraine, this does not concern politics, it seems to me that we are talking about more here, it is worth talking about the war and this is a completely understandable decision, there are simply no words about what is happening.

Bad move in my opinion. Why punish the miners for the shitty decisions made by their rulers or dictators?

I get it that they want to stand in solidarity with Ukraine, but I don't think that is the way to do it. In Russia, I believe there are so many people who are against the war.
2600  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Toncoin mining on: February 25, 2022, 11:47:23 PM
Does anyone have a guide or video showing the actual bridge working so you can get this coin to Bep20? Otherwise the coin is useless if you cant bridge it. I used the Ton BSC Bridge, got the smart contract, but using the link it creates for the smart contract does nothing and if I try to send the TON to the smart contract address it just sends the TON right back to me? What am I missing?  thanks in advance
FTX can also be a great option if it's not restricted in your country. I have been trading on the exchange and making some withdrawals

They charge no withdrawal fees for most coins except ETH, all ERC20 tokens and small amounts of BTC
