2601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH 2.0 is never coming? on: February 24, 2022, 11:48:21 PM
Is that dates confirmed or it was just a rumour? How many times we have been fooled that they say eth 2.0 is going to be released on this said date but still no eth 2.0 that came. I do not really know if the new mechanism of eth is going to be better or worst and if people will liked it but most of my concern are in the fee.
Obviously, he is speculating. There is no definitive date on when ETH2.0 will come on though we can be certain it will go fully live sometime in the near future.

I hope the fee will return to normal again just like the old days because I have lots of erc20 waiting to be sold. You said alternative are on other altcoins? But, what do you think about eth? Actually eth is also an alternative coin. There are also people that continuously earning a profit in eth so no they wont be leaving this coin. Sorry.
Do you think ETH fees will return to normal with the current protocol?

I personally don't think things will ever be the same again. ETH grew so big and with its growth, its scalability weakness got exposed.
2602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why buy old ASICS? on: February 24, 2022, 11:16:42 PM
Even if electricity is free those things are crap
Are toy sure about this mate?

I wouldn't mind making some money per day even if the miners are crap, so long as the electricity is free. Making profit is the point  Cheesy

Another driving factor could be due to the scarcity of the latest miners.
2603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Preparing for the future on: February 22, 2022, 11:46:34 PM
It depends on what you are using for mining... ASICs, GPUs, CPU?

Obviously with time you will be trying to mine the most profitable coin depending on the tides of time and market, so there is no conclusive answer on the coin you will be mining for the future of 2024-2024 but one thing you should not do is mine at a loss and the sell your coins at very low prices.

The beauty about bull market is that most altcoins tend to rise in price as long as they survive the bear market tide. All you have to do is hold your mined coins.
2604  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: why does the price of Bitcoin influence other coins on: February 22, 2022, 11:33:33 PM
The easiest answer and explanation is probably because Bitcoin acts as a base currency for different altcoin pairs in different exchanges. I believe you have already seen so many altcoin pairs in BTC markets such as ETH/BTC, SOL/BTC, LTC/BTC

So let's say at a bitcoin price of 1 BTC being $10,000,  if 1 LTC = 0.001 BTC in the LTC/BTC market pair, it means in USD value 1 LTC is worth $10
If the price of Bitcoin double to $20,000. Even if the price of LTC remained the same vs BTC (0.001 BTC). It implies the USD value of 1 LTC will have doubled to $20

That how Bitcoin affects other altcoin markets.

2605  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: @simantobd is a scammer on: February 22, 2022, 10:55:52 PM
What happened: Wanted to create a KYC account for me
Why would you want to create a fake KYC account? Are you planning to fraud?

Additional Notes: Support flag and tag the scammer please and next time I promise to use Escrow
Where is the flag?
2606  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ymdox is scammer on: February 22, 2022, 10:44:04 PM
Why no one is tagging this shit
Tagged and flag supported. I have only tagged the @ymdox profile. For the second profile, I need evidence linking the two accounts. How did you discover that the two accounts are alts. Please add your findings in the post.

You should avoid dealing with brand new untrusted accounts or at least use escrow service.
2607  Other / Meta / Re: Account Recovery Help on: February 22, 2022, 08:48:36 PM
mycrypto provide the service of signature (https://app.mycrypto.com/sign-message)  and verification of signature (https://app.mycrypto.com/verify-message) .
What I meant is that there is no altcoin address staking thread like this one for Bitcoin but I think the team that recovers accounts is flexible enough to accept signed messages from Ethereum addresses as evidence.

I really appreciate the free wallet address link shared. Jaxx wallet did not provide the full custodial with private keys, only got the 12 phrase that i dont trust
It does.

Just tap on the 3 line on the top right corner, -->> Tools -->> Display private keys

I don't know why you won't trust the 12 word phrase yet it's a much easier way to back up a wallet as compared to a private key?
2608  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Limit Buy Filled but Cryptocurrency didn't go that low? on: February 22, 2022, 08:19:47 PM
Thanks for your answer.  I realize that different exchanges provide different prices.  Coinmarketcap provides a slightly different price to Binance!  Anyway, at the end of the day I found the bottom of the range and it seems to be working out for me.
I was surprise that there was a difference at all.
If you want accurate results, always look at the charts or trade history in that particular exchange at the time the order was filled, otherwise using the party coin price ranking sites like coinmarketcap won't give you an accurate indication of the price.
2609  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Sell the private key on: February 22, 2022, 07:59:19 PM
What only got me thinking is why would tezos and cosmos do an ICO this year because I think these two projects are not new anymore. What if these were the fake projects because we have lots of them right now that their names are identical to the original/reputed projects.
Cosmos (ATOM) had an ICO where the Token Sale event ended on 5 APRIL 2017 while Tezos had one where the token sale even ended on 13 JULY 2017

The only reason I see why OP wants to sell the addresses that participated in the ICOs is because he's probably planning to scam. Otherwise, of what use are those addresses right now?
2610  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kraken on: February 22, 2022, 07:44:52 PM
Last month I’ve made a deposit of 567 eos there and even today I haven’t got my money back. I called twice, I contacted support, but all of them tell me “we have escalated” and that they can’t provide me any details for security reasons. What security reasons? It is what they say when they have no reasons to lock your money and they give this reply and keep your money locked.
That's quite unfortunate for you. I have never used them before, but this is the problem with centralized exchanges. They can block and unblock accounts at any time they want.

Try Binance or Fybit. Binance does not block funds,
And who told you Binance does not block?

Quote
Fybit has no complaints at all so far, everything works great.
Maxxx07 is an advertising shill or part of Fybit which is a shady practice. OP, Don't even bother considering using the unknown exchange.
2611  Economy / Exchanges / Re: CEX.io on: February 22, 2022, 05:37:20 PM
Hi Anybody having issues with CEX.io and blocked account. Asking for tons of information and holding account blocked going on for about 3 months now.
Unfortunately, this expected when you use a centralized exchange. Your account was probably flagged because of some transactions, and they are now trying to collect data to prove that you are either guilty or innocent. Have they told you why your account is blocked?

I think it's that kind of situation where a particular account is pinpointed for the KYC/AML check instead of all the customers, otherwise we would be seeing a lot more complaints if many people were affected.
2612  Economy / Exchanges / Re: OKEX (OKX) exchange good? on: February 22, 2022, 04:58:05 PM
By the way, is Okex rebranded as OKX? The domain seems to redirect to okx.com. So yes, though I didn't use it but didn't hear any bad things as well. So I can't say exactly about their behavior.
I noticed it too when I accessed the site and APP a few days ago.

If you are quite keen, you will realize they changed their logo too, including the APP icon.

Ah so before they do not ask for KYC but now they are now requiring it? So, they got stricter but their KYC is easier compare to the level 1 KYC of other exchanges because they require a picture proof and they wont process it if they feel that the picture is a little blurry. I have a problems with that because my phones camera doesn't have a good quality but how will they know that it was your id if you will only put a number?

Anyone can randomly enter a number or copy someone's id number on the net. I know OKEX before as one of the famous exchanges but I haven't heard of them lately maybe because I didn't recognized their new name.
If I recall well, Binance, localbitcoins or bittrex also used to be like that. Issues come up when they make their verification more strict. That when you get trapped and won't be able to verify your account because the numbers or names you used are not the same as those on the ID.
2613  Other / Meta / Re: Account Recovery Help on: February 21, 2022, 11:42:34 PM
As far as i know, using non-custodial wallet doesn't mean you can sign a message, only few wallets have this feature. Even though you can access the wallet's private keys, its too risky to use a third party website or app just to make a sign message.

Using electrum in desktop can fully use the feature, i dont know what other wallets do the same.
The point I was making was about the ownership of the private keys, which custodial wallets don't give you access to. Nobody talked about third party websites, but you can still sign a message offline using the available wallets that support the feature.
2614  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is this good? on: February 21, 2022, 10:17:07 PM
Is this real?
How are we supposed to know?

Maybe add in some more details so that members can easily help you. Like, where did you get that information from?
Is it a website? Some stranger on the internet approached you about a good deal?

Please share.
But like it's said above, any deal that seems too juicy always ends up being a scam.
2615  Other / Meta / Re: Account Recovery Help on: February 21, 2022, 10:07:24 PM
Can anyone prescribe where to get free bitcoin wallet address with private key availability?
You can easily generate Bitcoin addresses and have access to their seeds or private keys using noncustodial wallets like Electrum, Jaxx wallet, Exodus etc. When you generate Bitcoin addresses using custodial wallets or exchanges like coinbase.com, you don't own the private keys, but it's the custodial service that owns them instead, which means you can not sign a message using that address.

Are there no provision for ethereum wallet signature if bitcoin wallet does possess private keys or rather not available?
As of now, there is only one thread where people stake their Bitcoin addresses by signing a message through them. I haven't seen one for altcoins like Ethereum, but If your account is hacked, you might stand a chance of recovering it if you sign a message through an Ethereum address you posted in the forum in the past. I think the team that helps with recovering the stolen accounts looks at other things too apart from a signed message in order to recover the account.

As you can see, OP managed to recover his account - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=316656. He was last active in December 2021.
2616  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Selling LBC account - Local Bitcoins . Com on: February 21, 2022, 09:50:11 PM
Perhaps you are attempting to sell a stolen/hack account. No genuine trader sells off their account just like that.

1. We all know, localBitcoin platform imposed mandatory KYC verification on all its users, which means even if the account is sold. The original owner can still trigger an account recovery process which will involve more KYC verification and the new owner won't stand a chance of keeping the account since they don't have the original documents.

2. No one would risk selling off their full verified account to a stranger. What if the new buyer uses the account for illegal transactions, like financing terrorism?
2617  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Sell the private key on: February 20, 2022, 10:32:22 PM
I want to sell the private key of the address that participate the tezos and cosmos ico, who wants to buy it?
1,  Why would you want to sell a private key of an address that participated in the Tezos and cosmos ICO?

What does the buyer benefit from buying it?

2. If at all there is any benefit. What is the point of selling off the private key if you can also benefit the private key and the adddress/
2618  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Words of advice on: February 20, 2022, 10:24:50 PM
Never sell or send coins that just show up in your wallet. Never trust airdrops, Never give out your seed phrases, even to family, just put it in your will incase you die. Never tell people what is in your wallet, you may become a person the hackers and scammers focus on. Never trust anyone online, including any of the advice I am giving you. Turn on transaction signing and password.

Last year, I posted about how some scam airdrop tokens were made to steal people's tokens (Beware of Airdrops that will drain tokens out of your address.

Each passing day, new sophisticated scam come up and people must be extra vigilant. I personally don't see the value of airdrops except to scam people and make the shitcoin appear to have a high number of holders or trading volume if listed in an exchange.
2619  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best free Arbitrage site on: February 20, 2022, 05:19:33 PM
Thanks for the help in advance
Indeed doing arbitrage bets, it can be said that the risk is lower compared to doing other system sports betting methods, arbitrage people without knowledge of sports or mathematics can make arbitrage bets.

OP is referring to Arbitrage trading, not arbitrage betting, which I think are two different things  Wink

One thing I would advise OP is that arbitrage trading is shitty these days unless if you got lots of money in your accounts in different exchanges and a very good bot. Don't waste your time and money.
2620  Economy / Exchanges / Re: OKEX (OKX) exchange good? on: February 20, 2022, 04:43:22 PM
I have used the exchange dozens of times.

I haven't faced any problem trading, and the spot fees are pretty much within the normal crypto exchange rates. I don't know about derivatives fees since I use another platform for that.

The beauty about them is the high withdrawal limits. I have my account verified with basic information/Level 1 (Nationality, ID type, ID number
Legal first, middle, and last name) and can do about anything from 200 BTC daily withdrawal limits, futures trading to P2P trading with $500 single order limit.

The problems I have faced with the app are in signing in.

1. The app is case-sensitive, even when it comes to initials of the email address
2. The app is sluggish in bringing up the verification page (it can even take 30 seconds)
