361  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Just think of holding and not the high transaction fees. on: December 30, 2023, 10:26:59 PM
But I come here just to tell us say make we way dey accumulate our Bitcoin with DCAing strategy or not,, no fear for the fees but make we hold am well.. Na how to protect our coins we suppose to dey think of instead of the high fees.

The fees no supposed be much of a concern to those wey be investors, na traders and those wey dey use the Blockchain steady dey para this thing and we understand why dem dey vex because e no support be like this but as e dun happen na to find solution instead of shouting everywhere. As you be investors and dey buy through DCA, make nothing spoil your plans. Just dey buy Bitcoin as you dey do and you fit monitor the mempool to know when transaction no too big so you fit withdraw to your non constodial wallet make you dey hodl.

If you been dey do am weekly, you fit adjust your DCA time so you go dey hold stablecoin or cash first instead of doing it as you were doing when the network wasn't congested. You go just find way adjust and you go fit return to how things been dey before the congestion as e no go dey forever, e go return to normal very soon and you fit they accumulate at your regular time.

Quote
I get feelings say all of this things na part of Bitcoin experience. Make we no also dey surprise say one of the reasons why this fees high na because of say them want make investors fear to sell their coins and hold am till the next bullrun and after the bullrun...

Wrong ideology because high fees dey make people hold more instead of selling so your assumption no make sense for this one. When fees high people no go wan pay fee to sell and Bitcoin price still dey go up despite all high fees wey show say people dey wey dey buy. If you no gree buy Bitcoin because of fee or panic go sell na yourself wey you dey do. Hodl your Bitcoin tight, all this sha pass very soon.
362  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: be careful!! Scammers opportunity to get to you @CBN UPLIFTING OF BITCOIN BAN on: December 30, 2023, 10:07:58 PM
Well I thought I should give everyone especially the naive and new ones like myself a heads up about this particular news of how it can be used by scammers to achieve their mischievous plans and also everyone should be on guard because even the bankers themselves can be a big partakers in some crypto(Bitcoin) that happens in the bank.

You do well because no be lie say this news wey we dey consider positive news fit turn to something else as scammers go misuse the opportunity take target gullible users and from the high rate of the scams involving Bitcoin or cryptocurrency, e fit make the government ban the currency again with a more reasonable excuse this time. When the government been ban the banks from interacting with Bitcoin, it was technically like Bitcoin was banned in Nigeria so scammers no fit use say their business wey dem dey promote with Bitcoin dey registered for the country but as the ban dun go, dem fit dey come with that leg so na for we to not take anytime them say serious.

We need verify any business wey claim to get licence for Nigeria to operate any investment business or other business wey scammers fit dey wan use to scam us.

Quote
Note: beware of strange calls and claiming from different person claiming to be specialist in handling crypto transaction inside the bank because some of these might be there to cheat you in any way possible.

This and also those calling to introduce you to an investment that they'll claim are affiliated with the banks when na just scammers trying to scam you, plenty new tricks go come out and also some old ones like doublers go dey come out too. Make we dey careful and ignore all of them so we no go be the next story of person wey scammers defraud.
363  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Wrong Speculation Of Society On Bitcoin And Online Operator on: December 30, 2023, 09:51:15 PM
The speculation of many in the society and their view of personnel operator who centered their operation of making a leaving online as Cyber crime, yahoo or illegal activity is alarming mostly once they see the process being benefiting the so called individual who is involved in such, I fully observed that ignorance have eaten deep it's side effects in our society and failure of government to properly educate citizens on the global development, and state clearly what is legal and illegal to the citizens has curse many criticism on citizens even when the person is on genuine track.

You don't have to blame the citizens for their ignorance, the country isn't on track with the rest of the world so how then do you expect the citizens to be well equipped to know those on genuine tracks when it comes to working remotely or online as the case may be. This side na only bad things dey reign so everybody just dey assumed say anybody wey dey work online dey do fraud or something illegal. When those fraudsters get caught na still dis legit hustle dem dey use as excuse until they finally get exposed so dem follow dey spoil everything and the society just they react with the information they're been feed.

Educating people with every opportunity wey we get na wetin we go fit do to contribute to enlightening the public about wetin dey happen for online. The schools don't have the modern ways of working in their curriculum so how you dey expect the society to know say legit ways to earn dey online. Bitcoin has always been wrongly labelled but that one never fit stop the growth of Bitcoin so make we no dey worry. We just have to enlighten people as we get the opportunity and small small Nigeria go catch up to the rest of the world.

Front all legit hustle wey you dey do wey involve Bitcoin or dey online so you go follow enlighten the society too, the government can't support Bitcoin now as e go take power from their hand based on their thinking but we fit make people understand wetin Bitcoin be and also to benefits from am through investment.
364  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why you need patience to invest in cryptocurrency on: December 30, 2023, 09:26:22 PM
The point of this story is that many people have been introduced to various investment platforms but didn't have the patience to continue because they wanted to see profits as fast as possible. I'm happy because my sis, despite selling all her Pi, now realizes it's real and this will motivate her to keep mining. The person who bought her Pi is investing in her future because she understands its potential value when fully launched.

You need patience when investing in Bitcoin but you need smartness if wetin you dey run nobi Bitcoin but altcoins. I never still understand this pi something, like some people dey call am scam while others dey call am legit but the whole thing just dey remind me of TBC (the billion coin). E get similar hype and everything, people wey dey mine or buy pi make dem know say no be Bitcoin success the coin go get. E fit get more profits pass Bitcoin but e no go fit be Bitcoin so make we no dey use because of Bitcoin dey buy am. The coin just dey complicated and when things like that dey happened, the best decision to take na to just avoid am and buy Bitcoin for hodling.

Quote
This is why it's good to buy as much Bitcoin during its bear run or bear market and not succumb to fear and sell them off. Cryptocurrency investments require patience.

I no like as you use Bitcoin dey sell this pi something, no compare two of them. Bitcoin need patience and when you give Bitcoin patience, you'll be guaranteed rewards at the end but you no fit talk the same thing for pi as you fit buy and hodl yet na rubbish (worthless tokens) wey you go dey left with because nobody know how pi go be tomorrow. Many people dun buy altcoins with this patience mindset yet dem no get any profits from the investment. Altcoins no be wetin you go dey use Bitcoin mindset they follow. No go advise anyone to get patience with altcoins oh as na pure gambling you dey do there and not investment.
365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a Replacement for a College Savings Plan on: December 29, 2023, 11:43:33 PM
The traditional mutual fund / 529 plan isn't really needed anymore if college isn't going to be a requirement, but now I am more so just thinking of a life savings plan is a much better and more flexible option. Maybe just set them each up a wallet and load x amount each making quarterly contributions. By the time they are old enough surely they would have more money in that account anyways compared to the mutual fund, right?

Yes that's basically investing in Bitcoin, Bitcoin should have been a replacement since due to the features and quality of Bitcoin. If not for anything, for the fact that Bitcoin is decentralization should have qualified it to replace any investment plans we had prior to knowing about Bitcoin. The choice of choosing Bitcoin won't be a regrettable one. Bitcoin still has alot of fire left in it in regards to it's price appreciation. By the time those investment plans are due for harvest, the amount of wealth you would have generated, if you choose Bitcoin would be astonishing.

Although Bitcoin shouldn't be the only option for your investments and I'm not referring to investing on altcoins but you can diversify to other sectors that have the tendency to appreciate in values as well like real estate investment. You need to diversify so just incase things aren't what you expected when it's time for harvesting your investments you don't get demoralised. Nobody knows the future of the industry but we hope for the best and the best is what is going to come although having back ups aren't a bad idea

You can still combine everything though, that's investing in Bitcoin and also investing in college saving plans and still make profits from all of them due to them all been a good way of investing. Provided you're not wasting money but making investments with them, you're doing the right thing.
366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Must you lose before you gain in Bitcoin investment? on: December 29, 2023, 11:26:18 PM
What's the possibility you invest without losing. Is it guaranteed in this kinda market?

The strategy is simple, buy and hodl bit we don't use it because it's boring. If you use this strategy the possibility of losing reduced to 0% but when you buy and think you can outsmart the market by trading, you're increasing the possibility of losing. Don't get me wrong you can trade and be very profitable but the percentages of those doing this are smaller than those losing so what's then the point of putting yourself out there to the market when you could have just bought and hodl and made profits.

You must not lose before you gain when investing in Bitcoin but just listen to others that have been here before you and do exactly what they say so you don't lose. If you're stubborn and still think you know what's best to do then you'll end up like others that have regretted not investing in Bitcoin or went on to do thing for them to make quick profits by investing in altcoins or tried trading and are in losses.

Making profits from Bitcoin is easy but just because it's not looking attractive, people are thinking it's a waste of time and want to do the exciting things that only takes money away from you instead of making you more money. The nft, altcoins and the rest has taken more money than they're made people to have so they aren't worth it, just buy Bitcoin and hodl.
367  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Unless the prime suspect is caught, everyone is a suspect. on: December 29, 2023, 11:11:11 PM
1: Anyone asking you to invest and earn a huge profit is a suspect until proven to be a legit investment (stay away from Ponzi schemes and stay safe).

You don't need any proof, they're all scammers especially when it got things to do with the cryptocurrency industry. Scammers are known for using the phrase (earn big rewards) in many other way that you can rephrase it, to attract their victims. They feast on your greed and hunger for wanting to reap where you didn't sow a seed or with little effort and want a bigger reward. If you're not holding your private key you don't own that coin so you should be avoiding all the centralized platforms asking you to invest with them as it  doesn't matter if they're legit or not.

Quote
4: Any website asking you to connect your wallet is a suspect. Why must you connect your wallet? If you must connect a wallet, create a fresh wallet address and generate a new key. You can connect the empty wallet there.

Not every website that ask you to connect your wallet is a scam, some actually needs you connecting your wallet before you can use the platforms and some example are DEX and the supposedly defi platforms that we now have due to the popularity of the defi sector and other decentralized things we can use some smart contracts Blockchain to do. But while not all website that asked you to connect your wallet are scam, your precautions of having a new wallet for that purpose is encouraged to avoid exposing your wallet to fruadsters.

Quote
5: Any random person you meet online and he or she is telling you about investment is a suspect unless proven trustworthy.

You don't have to wait for them to be proven trustworthy because no legit person will be messaging you about an investment just like that. Fraudsters and scammers are those that use this means to try to defraud their targeted victims. Don't be their next victim, if you want to invest just buy your coins and hodl in your personal wallet that you have access to all the sensitive information without any third party been involved.
368  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies are not Scums.... Learning is a Process and it's progressive. on: December 29, 2023, 10:49:51 PM
Nobody is an expert in life and on this forum.... The last time I asked, I was told that an a professional or an expert is someone who has learned less and less about more and more until he has known everything about nothing....

We are all here to learn and maybe earn along the way...

Stop the belittling of Newbies on this forum.

Make your points on people's posts constructively and with respect.

Nobody is an expert in life but there are people that have gained the experiences that you're yet to gain on the forum and the industry so they're in the best position to teach you about the forum. As a newbie, be more observant and learn, don't get angry or work up when you get corrected. Nobody wants your downfall here, we all want the best for you guys because you're the generation that'll guide the next generation of newbies that'll be coming after you. If you don't learn properly you can't teach them properly as well so calm down and learn.

Newbies might be experts outside the forum but on the forum, you're who your rank says you are. For you to rank up, you most have spent some time on the forum and understand how things work over here and also gained other knowledge on Bitcoin. You're a newbie, you're just starting on th forum, get used to that and work on your account on the forum and you'll rank up. If you don't like been called a newbie, do something about that instead of demanding respect you're not qualified to be demanding. This is just a forum, you shouldn't be getting offended by what is happening here, this isn't your father's house that you can call the shots and if you don't like what is happens here you leave.

The forum is a place for learning so concentrate on learning instead of complaining about the way you feel you should be treated and not getting treated. Put more efforts in your contribution and you'll level up but for now you're still a newbie so don't think otherwise.
369  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Feeling more comfortable while integrating into the forum community on: December 29, 2023, 10:30:18 PM
Your image on the forum depends much more on the history of your posts than on your rank.
your image in here could encompass so many other things apart from your Post history.. take note!

The OP is right and you're also right but the focus of the OP was on newbies just joining the forum so he's more right when he said your image here revolve around your posting (post history). When you have a good posting record you can get merited quite easily when someone finds your post interest and of quality, there are high tendencies that your other posts will be looked at especially when you're a newbie therefore you should never underestimate the power of having a quality post history.

If I was to review a users post history and I meet more of generic contents in his post history, I won't go further but when I find his writing captivating and of quality then I'll drive further to look for more contents that probably were missed or didn't get enough publicity for members with merit to award merits to the post. A newbie should concentrate on giving the forum the best he has to offer before thinking about anything else to build his reputation.

Notice those newbies that ranked up in rank quicker did that by been known as quality contributors to the forum. Automatically their posts tends to attract meriters due to the value their posts contribute to the forum. As a newbie focus on delivering quality contributions to the forum to build your reputation here.
370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin HODL: what happens to Bitcoin holders during impressive price increase? on: December 27, 2023, 06:06:40 PM
Question: With the coming of these two major events, assuming the price of Bitcoin turns out to be very impressive and massively different from today's current price, will the majority of Bitcoin holders keep(continue) holding?, or might price temptation just result in them selling to make a profit?

To begin with, I must say I love the way you structured your thread. From the introduction to your question was captivating to read, you didn't say anything out of the ordinary but from reading it, it shows you weren't just typing but genuinely asking a question. This is a very personal question so I can't speak for others but I'll speak for myself. My investment in Bitcoin has nothing to do with what's happening in 2024. The focus is for the future, my investment are for 10 and above years to come.

If I was even investing for the near future it would be for when the market gets to its highest height in the current bull market and not for whatever is going to happen in 2024 that's not my concerned. I don't see any temptation that can make me to sell my Bitcoin prematurely that isn't the price/time I intended to sell. I'm not trading so I'm not interested in selling to rebuy instead the more I have more spare money the more Bitcoin I'll keep buying.

We are always concerned about the positive side of things (that's you sell and get an opportunities to buy when the price is lower than the price you sold) but have you considered scenario that things don't go as you planned. Bitcoin can have a correction but immediately rebounce and the price soar beyond our imagination. I believe the next bull market peak will be astonishing.

374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if BTC were to be adopted as a global reserve currency? on: December 24, 2023, 09:22:15 PM
would the Government of the Nations adopt BTC, a decentralized form of digital currency?

If they do, dont you think we should raise eyebrows and be suspicious of what they could be up to?

Some counties have already adopted Bitcoin but they're countries that aren't strong financially, I have said this before that no country that are financially strong would want to give up control that they get from their local fiats to adopt a decentralized currency that they have no control over, in the future things like this might be happening more often but for the meantime many nations will be discrediting the cryptocurrency industry just to make the fiats currency strong but it won't work.

People can't be deceived forever, Bitcoin is better than the current fiats system so if Bitcoin was to be adopted as a global reserve currency, things would be different than what it is but that won't be happening soon. The elite nations that are enjoying the flaws of the current currency system won't want that to change, they would want this to continue until it's no longer beneficiary to them.

It's going to be a long process before Bitcoin can be declared a globally reserved currency but for it to be accepted as a alternative to fiats, that's just a matter of time. The more the fiat currency keep losing value and importance in the society, the quest for a better currency will be ignited and Bitcoin would come to the rescue.
375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of Bitcoin as digital currency on: December 24, 2023, 08:52:33 PM
As long as Bitcoin remains decentralized, the government can't stop its growth and market adoption. But when it talks about as a currency, that is still something uncertain and why? Whether we like it or not, the participation of the government becomes a major factor for its consideration. It didn't look good really but people got their trust when Bitcoin is officially declared as a legal tender in a particular place or a country. This is why I could say that the future of Bitcoin lies somehow in government support or overview otherwise, that will remain as an investment, not currency.

Has Bitcoin needed the support of the government to get to where it is today, the answer is no because Bitcoin didn't need the government instead the governments are  looking for a way to regulate the industry in all countries. Few days ago Nigeria lifted it's ban on banks engage with cryptocurrency related activities and other countries are reducing their restriction on cryptocurrency and looking for a way they can regulate the industry.

Bitcoin don't need the government but the government needs Bitcoin because they know soon things won't be done the traditional way anymore but everything will be going digital.

Bitcoin doesn't need the governments to become a globally accepted currency but the government need Bitcoin so they won't be left out. Bitcoin is getting the world attention and soon Bitcoin will be accepted globally as an alternative to fiats for transaction which is what Bitcoin missions from the very begining was all about as it was introduced as a better alternative to fiats currency.
376  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Economic benefits of lifting the ban placed on cryptocurrency on: December 24, 2023, 12:01:51 PM
Now my own be say make we discuss how dis new development go take benefit all of us, me I see am say one of the way e go benefit us na to create a safe space for us to save our money make d value for no too come down because we know how our naira dey behave now but if ur moni dey crypto e no go too fall.

I love this, if na so we dey drop news for the board we for dey get important things to discuss when it comes to news. It's not just about bringing a news for this board but add your own thing so we fit get conversation. The news sweet me as I see am and I go take time drops some kind benefits wey I see this news bringing to the country. Me been know say  it's just a matter of time before then go lift the ban and I always knew Jagaba government go do am because of how the guy dey in support of Blockchain technology and indirectly benefits the cryptocurrency industry. The ban been really they hold us back, no be say dem ban Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency for the country but people been dey fear.

The lifting of the ban go;
  • Attract crypto start up to come the country, nothing worse pass you no fit do business with the banking sectors in a county because na dem go give you loans to run your business and provide other assistance wey go fit benefits both of una so as the government dun lift the bans e go well.
  • Increase adoption in the country: people plenty wey been dey avoid accepting cryptocurrency or joining the industry because of the ban from the governments even though no be people but company been they commot body make dem no get problem with the government but as dem dun unban, now the country go dey work towards trying to regulate the market so companies go fit dey take part without fear now.
  • Job creation and increase awareness:  if starts up plenty enter the country and are allowed to operate, na job dem dey create so and na so the job creation go extend to other sectors wey go need introduced crypto specialist into their business like law firms, the banking sectors and other businesses wey go need crypto specialist dem
  • Economical growth: Make we no underrate the power of cryptocurrency, see the volumes this exchange dey trade daily, imagine we get one like that wey be say e go dey handle the Nigeria & Africa markets and then dey pay taxes to the governments, na money dem dey push into the economy be dat provided the governments can use the revenue wisely

Things plenty wey this unban go do but most importantly e go bring in the sense of relief and acceptance into the country, people no go dey judge you when you say you dey into cryptocurrency business and you start your own business openly, without the fear of law enforcement officers harassing you. E no go dey in full effect now but with time we go enjoy the freedom like other recognised businesses in the country.
377  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: If bitcoin is not decentralized currency what would have happen to bitcoin on: December 24, 2023, 11:15:25 AM
The problem government gives bitcoin every day by day is it same thing government give all this fiat exchangers, that means if bitcoin have not fall to the category of decentralization that means by now bitcoin won't have exist again, the decentralized bitcoin is today is what that keeps bitcoin and its what makes bitcoin to exist more and more from my understanding...do you know that the reason why some of the mixes is being ban in the forum is not that they committed much crime but government is against them because they are against bitcoin, so if bitcoin wasn't in decentralized form they would have rubbished bitcoin by now.

It's the decentralization of Bitcoin that has keep the whole industry still active upto this day and not just Bitcoin because Bitcoin controls the whole industry and if Bitcoin was successfully defeated by the government, People won't trust other cryptocurrency to be able to survive the government attacks. It was also the decentralization of Bitcoin that made the government not to take it serious, dem been think say by now Bitcoin go dun die but dey underrated Bitcoin and e dun big to the exceed wey be say na for the government to accept wey remain.

Dem still dey find way on how dem go fit regulate some Bitcoin but the best dem fit do na to regulate some centralized services in Bitcoin so dem fit get some kind small control for the market as nothing else wey dem fit do.

Bitcoin need to hold its true decentralization very well because na the only thing wey him get now. Bitcoin dun lose others things wey been dey make am very attractive to investors like low fees, fast transaction and high ROI (Return of investment) others projects dey get those things now pass Bitcoin but Bitcoin na still OG as without am the whole industry will go down.

Analyzing the concept of crypto currency’s and gaining a legal understanding in different jurisdiction. Digital currency especially cryptocurrency, permits financial transactions of all size to be excited and complete within a click of button, often without the interaction or government agency to facilitate the transaction the digital currency model depends on a publicly shared ledger kept by all gadgets in the system.

The thread been wan confuse me but I later understand say you change the concept of the thread from wetin e be before to wetin e be now. Make we talk about the money laundry wahala. Money laundry dey happen but e no mean say just because say na cryptocurrency say person no fit trace the money. Blockchain dey open to every body to access and unless you dey use privacy focus coins to hide traces for money wey you dey try do money laundry for, no no dey dey hide anything. Bitcoin own na mixer, mixers go help hide the money when you wan run the money laundry.

Fiats (that's paper money) na still the best way to launder money, cash dey very untraceable but people no know. All those wire transfer and online ways of sending money wey we dey use do money laundry dey very traceable. Ask yourself why politicians dey like share money for cash and not online and na cash dem dey get full their hideout spots, na because cash dey very easy to launder and untraceable.

Cryptocurrency is the least of our worries when it comes to money laundry, Bitcoin promotes anonymity no be like e dey encourage money laundry. As for the other discussion of Bitcoin and poverty, just know say Bitcoin na just a currency. Like other currency it can be used to elevate your current condition when you make investment with them but Bitcoin own na say if you buy am you dun already make investment so e fit help your conditions only when you get money to invest in am and hodl.

Di matter now be say dis December, celebrations fit to affect our plans and we fit no meet the target of our planned btc accumulation before di bull run. So e go take great discipline to forgo di enjoyment of dis festive season with family and friends, and focus on the investment plan.

Why you go allow December jollification affect your accumulation plans, you can have the both make we no dey settle for less. You fit still enjoy and still fit accumulate, everything depends on how you dey plan your Life. Make I say you dey accumulate ₦100k monthly inside Bitcoin, you fit still keep that budget while you chop the one wey remain after you dun commot other expenses oh and emergency funds. Make we no use the ₦100k as target point but nay amount wey you dey receive you fit still allocate sometimes to Bitcoin DCA and December enjoyment. The thing na say your own enjoyment go be low key, you no go loud am as you dey do before but no dey deny yourself some enjoyment because life fit end tomorrow.

So how una reason am, for person wey don plan to de continue accumulating btc nonstop till bull run, weda im fit take break for December, enjoyment, or leave enjoyment and continue to de accumulate?

Wetin go work for you fit no work for me, your own strategy fit no work for me as e go work for you. E get people wey no go accumulate this December but when time reach dem go dun get better Bitcoin pass you (although no be competition but you get my point). Just do wetin you feel works best for you. Do wetin you go dey comfortable in so e no go belike na peer pressure make you dey do am. Make you no go enjoy yourself this December come dey get doubts when Bitcoin no give us wetin we dey expect from am next year. Me I like life wey be say I fit do everything wey I fit do in this small lige span wey we get for this world.

There is nothing not right about it, but if it is just a temporary solution.

There's everything wrong with it dear, I run two Bitcoin campaigns on the forum and still pay in Bitcoin irrespective or the fees and my weekly budget isn't upto that of the supposed campaigns advertising on Bitcoin service board yet paying in altcoin. So because it's a temporary solution will that mean I can post an altcoin discussion on Bitcoin discussion board with the excuse that it's a temporary discussion? My post would be moved immediately to the altcoin discussion board when reported so those paying in altcoin should move their campaign to altcoins service board and when the fees return to normal, that they can pay then they move it back to the Bitcoin service board or pay part in Bitcoin and the rest in altcoins that would be acceptable instead of paying everything in altcoins yet advertising on Bitcoin service board.

Hhampuz is very generous, other managers must not be as generous as he is to pay that much of a fee to get their transaction confirmed, you can pay lesser and still get your transaction confirmed in hours. Unless the forum administrators comes out to say it's okay (which I doubt they'll say so) I don't think it is. How will you feel seeing altcoins projects coming to post their campaign on the th Bitcoin service board and paying in altcoin, that's exactly what the supposed Bitcoin campaigns now paying in altcoin are doing.
