361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why we need to buy meme coin? on: November 25, 2023, 11:31:19 AM
Nobody ever need to buy memecoin because it has no use-case at all, the only reason people buying memcoin is to speculate on the coin and hoping some big name will shill it. At worst situation, memecoin is actually a greater fool investment.
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you guys think about light coin/lightning? on: November 25, 2023, 11:21:42 AM

So my question is how does buying of lightning coin a means of increasing bitcoin slow network?

This is my first time hearing about Lightning coin, OP make me search about Lightning Bitcoin Coin, and it actually exist, https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/lightning-bitcoin/, I don't know if that is the coin that OP is referring to, but I don't think those Lightning Bitcoin coin is in anyways related to the Bitcoin Lightning Network. The site is in chinese, https://lbtc.io/EN/about.html so
363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you foresee crypto payments going mainstream soon? Why or why not? on: November 25, 2023, 11:16:09 AM
How long do you mean by soon?
I don't think crypto payment system will be going mainstream in the next 5 years, in the first world country, maybe, but for developing countries, the infrastructure is not ready yet, the internet connection is not wide spread, and not really reliable. Even in my place which is quite modern, there are often trouble when I tried to pay with card.

368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Disadvantage of bitcoin on: November 16, 2023, 02:06:03 PM
Now my question is, do you think losing all of one’s coins simply because they didn’t have access to their wallet or key is already enough disadvantage for bitcoin against the local banks ?

To be honest for me I don't think it's even a disadvantages, I believe either people who has good amount of funds that is worth extra backup of their private key, and they store it ultra securely, or people who only save small amount of bitcoin that even if they lost access to the wallet. On the other if someone could help us get into our account when we lost the access, it also mean that those people might also be able to give access to stranger who never actually has access to our fund, even the slightest chance it's still a risk.
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When is the Bear and Bull Markets for Altcoins? on: November 16, 2023, 02:00:06 PM
I think since the beginning of altcoin and up until now, generally the market trend of most (if not all) altcoin is still following Bitcoin, So whenever Bitcoin market is in bearish, the altcoin market follows, and vice versa. Sometime the certain altcoin price is surging or falling not following bitcoin, but mostly it's only in short time trigered by some events, so just short price movement not market trend.
Some altcoin with huge market cap might have their own market trend when bitcoin is sideways.
370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eloncoin will be massive. on: November 16, 2023, 12:05:04 PM
Just checked the coin, and from what I have read this coin does not have any connection to Elon Musk, his companies, or anything that he has done. In other words, this coin has no utility and doesn't solve any problem. It just like memecoin, I don't see any particular reason that this coin will be massive,
It might survive and exist, but it will niche meaning only small group of people would actually care about this coin.
371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Investment, Beyond "Invest What You Can Afford to Lose" on: November 16, 2023, 11:52:10 AM
Bitcoin allows entry with even a small capital  as low as $5 to $10, which isn't something I will even want to lose.such an investment should not fall under the category of what you can afford to lose.

OP miss to distinguish between the phrase 'Invest what you can afford to lose' with 'Invest what you are willing to lose' both are very different things, no one invested their money and willingly losing it. 'Invest what you can afford to lose' doesn't mean investing carelessly and willingly losing money, 'Invest what you can afford to lose' means that if you lose the money of your investment you are still financially able to continue your life and recovering from the money lost, and then collecting money again to reinvest.

Invest what you cannot afford to lose, in a simple example would be lending money from a bank to Bitcoin with interest and collateral, that when we make a bad investment it make us bankrupt.
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is it still risky to Invest into Altcoin now? on: November 16, 2023, 08:36:44 AM
In my opinion investing into altcoin is always be more risky than Bitcoin, even the biggest altcoin like ETH or BNB. It's a centralized currency, the company cold just shutdown the project anytime they want, or the people behind the project could do some bad things and make people lose their trust in the project. I never put more than 30% of my portfolio in Altcoin and never hodl longer than 4 months, will just take the profit and move on to other altcoin, and I usually just immediately sell my altcoin if the market goes bad.
373  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Avoid trading crypto in real person. You can see this now on Binance. on: November 16, 2023, 08:32:36 AM
This is actually the first time I heard that people are meeting in real life to trade crypto. That's really bad decision, I don't know how they own crypto but they choose to trade by meeting in real life. They could use P2P trading platform, they could use DEX, it's even worse than Centralized Exchange, they expose their identity and meeting stranger.

I know people are buying many things meeting in real life, but with crypto you get many options to trade without the needs to exposing your-self, why take the risk?
374  Economy / Economics / Re: Marketing Strategies in the Digital Age on: November 16, 2023, 08:23:47 AM
OP mentioned all kinds of media advertisement that benefiting from technology, all the platforms and method of advertising, but I think OP is forgetting one of the most beneficial part of technology that helps marketing a lot. Data collection, especially with the raise of social media, Data Collection and Analysis has helped advertiser get more targeted audience for their ads, and customer get more suitable ads for them. Even though people were divided between the use of data collection for marketing advertisement, but we should agree that data collection has huge evolution on the behavior of advertisement and marketing.
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You Think Staking is the Perfect Passive Income Strategy in a Bull Market? on: November 15, 2023, 12:50:12 PM
In time of bullish, and for a fully passive income, then I think staking is the best way to do it compared to just investing without staking, but in general if the market is bullish and we want to get the most profit we can get, then day trading is the answer, even we not really into trading and only has few simple strategy, but of course high profit has high risk.
376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Every man you failed to lecture about Bitcoin can be a victim to scam on: November 15, 2023, 12:41:24 PM
I don't want to burden myself with such responsibility, if people ask me about Bitcoin, I will do my best to explain to them what I know, but that's about all, I wouldn't push them to learn more or do more research, I would end it with the usual phrase, 'You need to do more research on your own'. But that's about all of it, I wouldn't push them or force them or shill more about Bitcoin, if they decide to actually do the research than it's good, if not then no problem. It's not my responsibility to get people into Bitcoin.
377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't buy altcoins because they are top altcoins on: November 15, 2023, 12:30:47 PM
Sure, buying altcoins just because it's the top marketcap on Coinmarketcap is not right, but with millions of altcoins that currently on the crypto market, how could we narrow down the options? do we need to research on those millions altcoins? Who has the time for that?

Those rank on Coinmarketcap could be use for a filter, get into any investment just because of a single reason is dumb, we need to do a very deep research if we want to spend our money on any investment.
378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hot take: Your crypto portfolio should have more than just Bitcoin. on: November 15, 2023, 08:50:55 AM
I don't think it's a hot take, I think most people who are invested in Bitcoin will also have one or two other Cryptos. Tho, I would argue that if you want to diversify your portfolio, you can still get other investment outside of Crypto.

Other thing is that some replies here seems to think that people who bought Altcoins think the Altcoin is better than Bitcoin, and those conclusion jump is definitely wrong, anyone who buy Altcoin know that the Altcoin they bought would never surpass and become better than Bitcoin. They just speculating on the altcoin to get some extra profit.
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Releases Web3 Wallet custodial crap on: November 15, 2023, 08:34:35 AM
it is extremely ridiculous when they claimed that the wallet is self-custody but at the end of the terms and condition they said that they are co-sign the transaction and they are also able to prevent us to do transaction in our own wallet. Binance should never call their supposed Web3 wallet a self-custody in any way. It's a false marketing and they are definitely lying.

380  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat & Crypto - Effective Expert Advise on: November 15, 2023, 08:23:52 AM
Reading the replies here make me confuse about what advice what are you looking for, but as I understand, you currently only get enough income to meet your needs, without any spare money to be invested in crypto. My only advice would only be to reduce your spending, and trying to get more income, either by doing side hustle or keep trying to get a new job with higher salary.

All that being said, I believe we always able to reduce our spending if we want to, even if you can only spare few bucks for crypto investment if you do it regularly with discipline, doing DCA, you will eventually can get some profit.
