Russia has lost one third of its army so far.

They've lost a 250,000 people? That's some kind of joke right?

“The Russians Are Losing!”? Really?

Yeah, a guy siting alone in a room calling the president of Ukraine dispicable and saying that they are planning a false flag operation. That's not a Putin troll at all. And a Chinese reporter, seriously.

Formations. They have 150 "battlegroups" 100 (some sources say 120) of them were allocated to the war in Ucraine, 50 have been destroyed (approximate numbers).

Hi guys ... had been absent for awhile. My father passed away and I have to go visit the country. The little coin I have left has been spent. If anyone wants to help, you can always send me a message. The war is just bad. I have everyone vax'd but still need a bunch of paperwork just in case.

So sorry for your loss, my sincere condolences.

Broke Oligarch
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2022-03-17/broke-russian-oligarch-fridman-says-sanctioned-billionaires-can-t-sway-putin

Quote
Fridman, 57, was born and raised in the Soviet Union in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv. He was a first-wave oligarch, making a fortune in banking and energy before Putin’s rise to power. His parents are Ukrainian citizens who until recently lived part of the year in an apartment in Lviv.

Quote
Fridman was worth about $14 billion before the war, according to Bloomberg. He’s now worth about $10 billion on paper and is in the strange position of being an oligarch with essentially no cash. When the U.K. followed the EU and sanctioned Fridman on March 15, his last working bank card in the U.K. was frozen. He tells me he now must apply for a license to spend money, and the British government will determine if any request is “reasonable.” It appears that this will mean an allowance of roughly £2,500 a month. He’s exasperated, but careful not to compare his woes with those of Ukrainians suffering from the war. “My problems are really nothing compared with their problems,” he says.

Quote
Even though the U.S. has not sanctioned Fridman, the EU and U.K. measures led his accounts to be frozen; the day after Brussels announced sanctions, he found his bank card didn’t work. Now he’s trying to figure out how to pay for small things such as a house cleaner. “Maybe I should clean the house myself,” he says with a nervous chuckle. “That’s fine. I used to live in a small dormitory room with four men when I was a student, but after 35 years it’s unexpected.”

Quote
Fridman says he has two months to challenge the EU’s sanctions. Fridman holds an Israeli passport, but when I ask whether he might move to Israel, he waves off the idea. He doesn’t own a home there and doesn’t have access to money to buy one. “I’m a prisoner here,” he says.

Quote
Just before we met, he says, he got a call from a Ukrainian friend who was helping relatives flee Kharkiv. Fridman says he offered his parents’ two-bedroom apartment in Lviv, which has so far avoided direct Russian hits. He says the flat is now a temporary home for 15 refugees.

A few days after our meeting, the U.K. sanctioned Fridman, and this time he calls me, with no obvious reason except to say that things are getting worse. He sounds at a loss. “I don’t know how to live,” he tells me. “I don’t know. I really don’t know.”

To be a billionaire and not own Bitcoin is pure stupidity. Firstly, so what if it's risky, you're a billionaire you can afford large drawdowns. Secondly, you're a Russian billionaire, Russia has been targeted with sanctions for years now (including individuals), you really should of been prepared for this. Surely, he would at least have some gold jewellery floating about that he can off load.

Story sounds like bullshit to me.

He should have bought some bitcoin and gotten himself a Binance card.

3 Hours Passed and No post in the WO Thread  Shocked

Surprising. What's happening, guys?
I know the sphere becomes silent before the Storm.

America is still sleeping and Europe is just waking up, it's just 08:30 where I live, and Asia isn't even posting in this thread.

By Asia you mean China? Right?

Kind of, the ones with weird eyes. I know some Indians and former Indians post here.

New: US & NATO allies are sending several surface-to-air missiles systems to Ukraine. A senior US official tells me these systems include Soviet-era SA-8, SA-10, SA-12 and SA-14 mobile air defense systems, w/range higher than Stingers, giving capability to hit cruise missiles.

@Arriemoller, Ukrainians only need weapons to defend themselves, each of them fighting with the strength of ten Russians because they are defending their country and their homes. More good news is coming from the US, sending small killer drones (Switchblades) is being considered, and that would give Ukrainians even more power given how deadly and easily portable the drones are.

Yeah, I read that too but I didnt report it as it's just a "might deliver" so far.

Russian losses so far, 13 800 killed, 430 tanks, 1 375 armored vehicles, 819 soft vehicles, 190 howitzers, 70 rocketartillery, 43 anti aircraft systems, 84 aircrafts, 108 helicopters och 11 large drones.

And unconfirmed reports of two ships sunk outside Odessa as russian landingforces are approaching right now, they are being shelled hard.
Ukrainian forces are launching a counter attack nortwest of Kyjiv.
Ukrainian forces have taken ground and can once again shell the airport of Cherson, russian forces are fleeing the airport and at least 5 or six helicopters are on fire, most likely many more are damaged.

The Ukrainian army has captured more equipment from the Russians than they have lost, and the equipment captured is better than the lost one, for example lost Ukrainian tanks are mostly old T-64 whereas the captured tanks are T-72 and T-90s, they are upgrading!

Ukraine is actually winning this war.

as a comparison american deaths during the whole Vietnam war, from 1954 to 1975 was 58 220.

Another ship of the same class is in the baltic sea somewhere. If it shows up in a finnish harbour I will bet a few sats that Sweden and Finland are about to join NATO, we will know on thursday at the latest.

There is probably a reason (I do not know personally) why Sweden and Finland are not members of NATO. I always thought it was because of some general neutrality in the sense that they didn’t want to be part of a military alliance. However, this is not a time when it is wise for both countries to join NATO, unless the whole process takes a few weeks - and I think that could provoke Russia to attack Finland in the first place.

I looked at Finland standing in the ranks of countries in terms of military strength, and 59th place is not something that would give them confidence that they will not be attacked. According to the same ranking, Ukraine ranks 22nd, and according to everything we can see on the ground, they justify it with strong resistance.

In addition, NATO is strong on paper - but if we take the case of a 6-ton, 14-meter drone that flew 500+ km and hit Zagreb (Croatia) a few days ago without any defensive action, then we see how hollow that defense actually is. Investigation suggests that the aircraft was carrying an explosive device (120 kg bomb) which fortunately did not explode.

I disagree, this is exactly the right time to join, with russia cought up in Ukraine. They can't afford a war on two fronts.

A USA warship, the Arleigh Burke class – DDG 98 USS Forrest Sherman just entered a harbour in Sweden, it's leaving on thursday.
The Swedish prime minister and the Finish president is by a pure coincidence in the UK at the same time.

It's procedure to support and protect members to be during the process, hence (maybe) the ships.

Don't let the rust fool you, that just means it's a working ship, not a parade ship on official visit.

It idles a little bit rough when it's cold, not much but enought to annoy me.
I'm also just curious to see if I can get better mileage.
I will change the plugs first and see if it makes any difference, I will drive at least to fill ups and see what mileage I get, and then I'll change the wires as well and do the same procedure.
The plugs should arrive at the end of the month, I might even make a video out of the changing.

There are definitely other things I would check first. Fuel delivery, distributor cap, compression probably the first among them.

Done that and much more, except the compression.
