Binance bitcoin card update.

Just like Biro Bob wrote, I drove down to the Shell 24/7 station and at the pump i got "invalid card" but at the counter I could pay just fine.
I then drove to OKQ8 unmanned station and it didn't work, on to Ingo unmanned and it didn't work there either.
So I guess you can only use it for gas if you pay at the counter.
I will try Circle K too later  but that will be the last one.

And also, when I write "blipp" I mean contactless payment, where you only put your card next to the terminal and it goes "blipp" and the transaction is done. It's called "blipping" in Sweden, I don't know what it's called in English.

afaik, there is no word, but we have a system where you gently touch the pad (no insertion of the chip).
maybe it should be called 'bumping'.
Yeah, that's what I mean, but you don't actually have to touch the pad, just be very close to it, and not all terminals have pads, some you just put the card close to the front. But they do all go "blipp" Smiley

I forgot, you don't get cashback or items bought from Shapeways, a cashback sum is displayed but crossed over. At first I thought it might be because they have a 10 day period in which you can report a defective print and get a new one or money back, but that doesn't seem to be the reason since my firs buy is older than that and still crossed over.

A quick update on the Binance bitcoin card.

I went grocery shopping at City Gross and Ica Maxi this evening and the card worked just fine, I could plipp at both terminals, the text is, as expected, still displayed in English instead of Swedish.
I withdrew 200 SEK at the local City Gross ATM, no problems at all, but more options to choose, first it displays the conversion rate and fees from EUR to SEK and asks for your approval, then it asks you to choose between going forward with or without conversion, I chose with conversion., it worked just fine.
I then drove to a proper bank ATM and did the same thing, I got the same questions, but this time I chose without conversion. All text on the ATM:s where in English.
When I got home I checked the amount in EUR that was withdrawn from my Binance account, and it was 19.78 EUR in both cases, so it obviously doesn't matter what you choose.
I also stopped by Mcd and the local gas station again, In Mcd I could now plipp without problems, but the gas station still gives me "technical error", It's a Qstar by the way for any Swedes that might be curious.

I'm gonna go try the card on some other gas stations too and I'm also gonna see if I can fool the system and get cashback on cash withdrawal by doing it at checkout when I pay for my grocerys.

So far I'm pleased with the card.

To be continued.

Edited.

Yeah, it did give me a choice when I installed it, but since I don't know anything about computers I just picked one randomly. This is actually the first time I've had any problems with it.

Unforunately, I don't think there's any path without a full reinstall. Even an in-place upgrade to 10 would stick you in 32 bits as far as I know.

Well, that's really not the problem now though. I found an earlier version for 32 and downloaded that and it opens fine, but there is a dll file missing, to install that file you have to go to the place where the program is and find a exe file, start it and install that. I did that and something called Microsoft C++ started installing, but when it was almost finished I got "unspecified error" and there is nothing further I can do now, so, fuck computers.

I run windows seven that I got from piratebay on this 12 year old computer of mine. My old HD crashed so I bought a new one and installed W7 on it, it was W7 before as well.
I have a three year old laptop and a newer computer as well, but I don't have any wifi right now and I'm too lazy to crawl under my desk and tinker with all the cables and stuff. Besides, the laptops wifi stopped working a long time ago, it  ran out of battery and when I recharged it the wifi connection was gone. Haven't used it since. But I might have to try and scare it back to life now, I just found it under a pile of old things and, of course, its out of charge. I don't know where the charger is so I might have to buy a new one, and then get one of those wifi things that you plug in to the USB port. And then I'll have to go to the grocery store and use their free wifi.
Nothing is ever simple with computers, if any other product was that faulty out of the box consumer organizations would be all over their case, but for some odd reason the computer and software companys get a free card.

Win7 was available in 32 and 64 bit versions and unless you had good reasons, it would be better to install the 64 bit version. Unfortunately, now 7 has been discontinued, you are going to find things harder and harder (though there is little good reason other than Microsoft wanting more money). I was hoping to stay with 7 myself but I upgraded to newer processor and motherboard and 7 just refused to install and I had to go to 10. You might want to start preparing yourself to do the same. Though I am really not that happy about it and I'm considering finally getting back to Linux.

I have been trying to download chitu box so I can practice on my computer, but I can't open it, "software not compatible with win 32" or something like that. I'll try again later.

Wow, still on a 32 bit version of Windows? I'm surprised you're not having a tough time already. I don't think that's been the default since XP.

after shower I got aware that one of my testicle hangs lower than the other one. ~

any help from you genius folks?
My 9gag knowledge: that's so they don't hit each other. It's a feature, not a bug!
source

it looks more like this.  Undecided

EDIT: with this low BTC prices I really thinking about to sell both.  Cool

Could you scan them with your phone and send me the stl files? I could try and make a print.

Nah, there comes pictures in my mind of you raping my 3D printed balls (either in plastic or steel). go away!

But you are gonna need some kind of memento.
I was thinking you could gild them and take them out once a year on the day you lost them and tell your grandchildren the story of how your house came to generational wealth, it could become a tradition in the house of Gyrsur.

Binance card update. Drove down to the local, unmanned, gas station, the card didn't work in their machine, "technical error", tried another card and it worked.
Drove on down to Mcd and had breakfast, the card worked, but I couldn't blipp it, I had to insert it and use my pin. The text on the machine was in English instead of the usual Swedish, so it identifies it as a foreign card, but other then that it worked fine.

This could just be initial bumps in the road because the card is so recently activated.
ATM and grocery shopping remains.

Did absolutely nothing, just read an artcle and when I returned to the desktop the icon had changed and I could open it, but a dll or something file was missing, solution was on their homepage, go to the program files and open a exe file to install. Did that and of course the damned thing won't install, "unspecified error".

I'll give it one more try with another version, then I'm giving up.

Edit: I'm giving up, fuck computers.

Went back and downloaded an older version, chose win 32and when I doubleclick I get "... not a valid win 32 application".
Fuck it, it's always some shit with computers.

I need to learn some terminology, what's slicing?

Holy moly 2900 bucks A YEAR for autodesk.

I have recently just got into 3D printing myself (funny how that happens hey)
Picked up an ender 3 V2 and really enjoying the experience.
I am now about to embark on building my own from scratch based on the Hypercube Evolution.
BTW I use CURA for slicing.
Seems to do a very reasonable job and I also play around with tinkercad and have had pretty good results so far.
Struggling a little with PETG printing though but PLA is is a breeze.

You always tend to get stringy results with PETG/CEP when you don't have a cabin. Built my own, now it's working much better.

EDIT: And reduce cooling fans to 10% or even "off" when printing PETG, while the travel speed (moving between printing paths) should be as fast as possible, which keeps down the stringing. Print at low speed, about half of PLA.

@Arrie: I'm using "3D Builder" (Yeah, it's Micro$oft, but free) for easy modeling. It's half intuitive. Just define, place and combine (or exclude) simple 3d objects to make more or less complex structures.
Didn't master the learning curve with the free CAD proggies.
I'm using Cura as slicer. Good enough.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that.

So, if I have a file (.stl) in 1:100 and want it in 1:87 how do I do that?

In your slicer (Cura, Slic3r, or whichever one you are using), just select "Scale" and enter this value:

100 / 87 x 100% = 114.9%

Make sure you do this for all axes (uniform scaling, it should do it automatically like this by default).

Thanks.

I have been trying to download chitu box so I can practice on my computer, but I can't open it, "software not compatible with win 32" or something like that. I'll try again later.

Make it 100/87=~115% in the slicer.

STL files are actually dimensionless. Most software assumes 1 unit = 1 mm but sometimes not (or not by default)

Thanks.

You must be a bot ur lil selfie to believe that a bot does not know to be a bot.

dont you bots have a secret handshake or something to identify yourselves? id think there would be standards in place by now.

Can bots keep a secret?
