361  Economy / Lending / Re: Seeking 1 BTC Advance until Coinbase comes through on Monday on: October 16, 2014, 08:00:41 AM
I've given him the loan. I asked him to sign an old address to prove he's still the original owner of the account before I sent the loan.

I can sign an address I used to send btc to myself.

Not 100% foolproof, but good enough. I'll give you the loan. 1btc sent now for a repayment of 1.04btc. By the end of Monday. I'm also going to send it to the address you signed it from. Does all this sound ok for you? Confirm with me and I'll send now before I got to sleep.

Sounds good, much appreciated

362  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banking Elite Meet in Washington To Discuss Bitcoin Threat on: October 16, 2014, 07:26:33 AM
The ironic thing is that Chase is so against bitcoin, but yet tried to create their own version of bitcoin dozens of times, and every time has failed to get their patent. So only one thing is clear: they're no opposed to the technology, but rather just want the market share. Greedy as expected.

What will happen if I will not change my password?

Then you die.
364  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: blockchain.info: IM REALLY ANGRY - BEYOND ANGRY on: October 16, 2014, 06:51:08 AM
You know you can pick and choose which address to send the coins from? And you can also choose the amount? So just send your coins from an address that doesn't have the unconfirmed Txn. If you must use the coins that has the dust spam, then don't use up the full amount, as that will include the unconfirmed dust amount. There are ways around it, you'll just have to be smarter on ways to send your coins.
365  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Circle.com - Anyone out there using it? What are your experiences so far? on: October 16, 2014, 06:28:54 AM
I just bought some BTC from circle, and they've now integrated the 1% fee. It just shows final price rather than a separate fee line. Initially they did exchanges at bitstamp rate, but now they have the same pricing as coinbase. No real price advantage between circle vs coinbase anymore.
366  Economy / Services / wanted: website designer on: October 15, 2014, 11:51:50 PM
I need someone to make me a website, which I can pay for with btc or fiat. I need the website to have these 3 things:

  • faucet as the main page
  • page to buy/sell btc
  • page to sell products

Ideally the main page is a faucet, and two additional tabs that switches to buying/selling btc, or selling merchandise. If that's too complicated, then just a single page as a faucet site for now, then perhaps the other two added on later.

I normally prefer to only deal with members with prior trust first. Don't want to risk having any codes with backdoor BS. Post here or PM me if you can do this.
367  Other / Meta / Re: POODLE vulnerability on: October 15, 2014, 11:01:34 PM
So only "untrustworthy ISP" and TOR users are affected, everyone else safe? I hate changing PW's. More susceptible to forget them.
368  Other / Meta / Re: If Someone From Default Trust is Abusing His/Her Trust on: October 14, 2014, 08:20:09 PM
His name was Otong
Otong is in default trust.

Then he make a new account, Gosong.
Then he left his "fake" trust to Gosong has a trust.

Afterward, Otong sell his Gosong's account to other with high value.

Then he create another account and repeat the same way.

Any time you pass on trust like this, it gets diluted. I wouldn't think A single feedback will have a lot of significance, especially if it's on a new account.

I hope you're not asking this from your alt account to see if you can do this yourself.

370  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Circle.com - Anyone out there using it? What are your experiences so far? on: October 13, 2014, 05:46:03 AM
The 2FA has problems in that you cannot remove it after enabled, and you also don't get the secrete key to back up. I always back up all 2FA keys in case my phone gets damaged or lost. But with Circle's 2FA with google authenticator, you're fuked if something happens to your phone.

Huh? The QR code is "what you back up" (you can extract the *code* from that using something like "zbar") but of course if you didn't take a screen snapshot of it (like I did as I *tend to always expect the worse*) then I can see why you might have a problem.

Dammit I think you're right. The backup was the initial QR code that I already scanned with my phone, but now can't retrieve it anymore. I have about a dozen google 2FA on my phone, and every single one initially wrote out the code in plain text so I can copy it somewhere safe.

However the other problem still stands: once 2FA is activated, you can't change the code or delete it. If I want to redo with a different key, that's not possible. To me, this is considered a flaw.
371  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Live Bitcoin price android application on: October 12, 2014, 09:25:10 AM
Thanks for some of the links in this thread. I'll try a few of them out. Do you guys know if they're a constant drain on the battery? Especially if you set the refresh interval to every second, wouldn't this drain battery much quicker?

373  Other / Meta / Re: Dear Admins: How can I change my username? on: October 12, 2014, 12:57:38 AM
Back in 2011, it was very easy to change your user name from the profile setting. But I'm glad that feature has long been removed. Scammers just change their name right after they committed the crime.
374  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Localbitcoins noob here... on: October 11, 2014, 09:37:42 PM
Now specifically for cash deposits, it's generally safe, but not foolproof. You're at risk of having your bank account banned if you get enough deposits (money laundering suspected), or even if the bank gets a tip off that it's a bitcoin transaction. Lastly, cash deposits are reversible. Not as easy as paypal, but easy enough (I recently just got a 4-digit cash amount reversed on me within the last 3 weeks).
How did they manage to reverse a cash deposit? Did they claim the incorrect account was credited or something?

This is not something I will disclose. It'll just give more ideas to scammers, or turn legit people into scammers. The only thing you need to know is that it's possible, not how it's done.
375  Other / Off-topic / Re: need to stop gambling on: October 11, 2014, 08:59:48 PM
lost 2btc out of the few that i own the other night gambling on bitcoincasino.io..

i hate my life

I hope you learned something out of it. If you didn't, then keep gambling until you hit despair. At this point, you'll be a total wreck and forced to stop even if you don't want to.
376  Economy / Lending / Re: Offering BTC loans [no collateral] on: October 11, 2014, 08:49:59 PM
This loan has been given and approved in PM, and already repaid since then.

Im sorry, i know im not known here, because i lurk on other forums, and i just want to create a new coin, something for me to be proud of, and feel accomplished, i know that i dont have many posts or anything, but what reason does that make that i cant be trusted :/

Don't be a lazy quoter. You don't need to quote the whole dam post when it's right above you, just to type 1 sentence, otherwise I'll just delete it like right now.

Second, don't play dumb, unless you really are that dumb. If I send you 2btc, you'll just run with it and make a new account. It takes nearly no effort to make 20 shitty posts like what your account has. Lastly, we don't need another scamcoin. If you can't do the dev work yourself, tough luck.
378  Economy / Lending / Re: Offering BTC loans [no collateral] on: October 11, 2014, 08:23:15 PM
I am a student and I have to pay my bills for school,

Thanks for reading,
Lesley
Good for you. But you don't even meet bare minimum requirement of 20 posts. And also because you're a chick, so you won't get the loan  Tongue

do you accept loan with USD in BTC ?

I've given out a handful of fiat loans before. Can't give out $1k to you though. But how does $4.50 sound?

Amount: 2.5-3 BTC

I donīt have the minimum activity because I register yesterday but...
And you somehow think you're special enough for an exception?

Would it be possible for a loan of 1 bitcoin will pay 5% in one week or 10% in two depends on how this altcoin goes.
I don't provide loans to gamblers with no trust.

i need 0.03 return it 0.033 after 2 days or 3 days
Denied, too large for new gambling account.

Looking for loan 0.03BTC

You get the quote, but not the approval.

NO COLLATERAL
Loan Amount: 1BTC
Amount to be repaid: 1.04BTC
Loan Duration: 8 weeks
Account with 3 posts. Bold letters and no collateral in caps didn't help your case.

Loan amount: 0.35 btc
Term length: 1 month
needmoney needs btc but not money this time?

Do you think your 20 posts are worth 2 btc? Rhetorical question, please don't answer in here.

Looking for another 2 BTC loan, same terms as last time. 2.2 BTC will be repaid by October 24th, most likely sooner.
