3761  Other / Meta / Re: [PROPOSAL] Partial reset of airdropped merits on: November 30, 2020, 06:36:08 PM
There are a lot of Legendary and Hero member who made the history of bitcoin and yoh want them to be newbie again  Wink That doesn’t make sense at all. I don't think this is a problem which forum should involved with directly, there’s no reason forum would target make the accounts useless.
You may have benefit by doing so but that will not be fair at all.

Imagine if satoshi were to be active and use his account, only to find out that his rank was reverted to a 'newbie', that would be hilarious and ironic at the same time.

Joking aside, although I understand that there may have been a number of recently awoken accounts who participate or cheat their way in to a campaign, this would inevitably prejudice old members of the forum who contributed significantly in the past. Not all recently awoken accounts are deemed to be spammers, scammers, or cheaters (case-to-case basis).
3762  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will increase 20X in the next 5 years on: November 30, 2020, 06:03:27 PM
Dan Tapiero, co-founder of Gold Bullion International believes that it’s only a matter of time before Bitcoin
’s price surges into the six-figure threshold.

“In the next five years, I can see gold at $4,000, so that’s double. But if gold is at $4,000, Bitcoin is probably somewhere between $300,000 and $500,000, so that’s a 20, 30x.”

https://cointelegraph.com/news/no-debate-that-bitcoin-will-increase-20x-says-gold-industry-insider

In all honesty, I do not see the correlation between the increase of gold's price to bitcoin's price in the near future. Before speculating any price in the future, one should always rely on data and not on blindingly speculate the price. Every time there is a bullish market on bitcoin, people would always predict its price on the market in the future without backing it up.

To be safe, divide your investments both short and long-term so you can take advantage of it in the near future.
3763  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: France's gambling recovers on: November 30, 2020, 01:12:53 PM
<snip...>

I agree with their statements on the regulation of online gambling.

The numbers speak for themselves- 1.6 billion in revenue due to online gambling and some countries prohibit such due to the conflict between morals and revenue. To be honest, this kind of revenue can be a game changer especially to third-world countries who seek an alternative method of earning revenue.

One thing that I do want to point out is the regulation of online gambling. Due to its nature, there is that potential threat of minors engaging into this activity which is obviously, immoral. I do hope that the government provides a system where it can balance its revenue power and morality/accessibility of minors.
3764  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Loan Default - asu u=519783 on: November 30, 2020, 09:44:55 AM
I am very sorry for your loss, Direwolf.

It baffles me that there are members of the forum who are well-reputed and trusted but they still manage to default a loan. To be honest, they destroyed their privilege of earning in the forum (e.g. campaign signatures). Their goal is too short-sighted and they are blinded by the fact of taking advantage of someone due to their trust feedback.

It contributes to the fact that anyone can be scammer regardless of their trust history and feedback. Once again, I am very sorry for your loss.

The reputation of the Philippine community is slowly but surely sinking huh?

It really sucks man. These types of scammers significantly contributes to the stigma in our community but I do hope that this will not take a toll on trusted members of the Philippine community. Hopefully, there is a way to at least mitigate such damage to our board.
3765  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] Project x100 - Fake Investment Scam on: November 29, 2020, 09:08:54 PM
Flag supported.
It is obvious scam promising x100 returns for long time... and I feel sorry for everyone who send anything to this scammers.
Stay away from stuff like this.
After I checked the scamer wallet there were still no transactions that sent ETH 0.1 so it is possible that no casualties have occurred in this fraudulent investment and it is clear that with the x1000 return is an invalid project we have a lot to stay away from this project they promote on this forum is not spared from catch and I support the flag.

It's actually a good thing that no person has fallen to their trap and scam. To be honest, the website really looks obvious that it is a scam project. Given the returns they offer plus the theme of the website, it is highly unlikely that a person may get scammed.

This user have already made another ANN again. "qwertyup23" you can update your main thread by adding below links.

New ANN link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5294603.0
ANN Archived: https://archive.fo/AXqjC

Thank you for the heads-up, TalkStar.

I have updated the thread and added their new ANN to my accusation. I mean, the audacity that these scammers have to post another ANN with the hopes of scamming someone. I also do hope that no one gets to fall to their trap, given that their website is obviously a scam.
3766  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Gambling Platform with Signature Campaigns in Forum on: November 29, 2020, 07:12:57 PM
This is good information posted by you, OP.

Lots of gambling websites that accept cryptocurrencies as payment started their advertisements here in the forum due to the traffic from different people from around the internet. As the biggest cryptocurrency forum, it is normal for them to advertise their projects here in the forum. Furthermore, more and more projects in the services section are being created and signature campaigns that advertise gambling websites are mostly effective in reaching out their advertisements.

Maybe the competition of gambling websites depend on the transaction fees every withdrawal especially the customer service of their website.

3768  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM Alert] Dealtrade.io ponzi scheme offering 3% daily return. on: November 29, 2020, 01:15:23 PM
<snip..>

Once again, impressive work done by you, OP!

Ponzi schemes are rampant nowadays especially considering the surge on BTCs price in the past week. Some scammers are trying to take advantage of this opportunity to gain funds from newbies and then disappear after collecting or reaching their goal. Also, I really encourage everyone to create threads like these in order to notify people from all over the world who visit this forum so they can be cautioned and warned!

3769  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: who actually moves the price of bitcoin? on: November 27, 2020, 08:10:17 PM
Most bitcoin prices are tied to an average or a collection of what the top exchanges publish as the current bitcoin price. But who's actually moving their prices? From my understanding, retail users don't have the power to move prices in the short term. Whales supposedly are the ones who can make the price suddenly jump or drop...but they trade on OTC desks right? not on retail exchanges....so how are these Whale movements being reflected on retail exchanges to determine what the current bitcoin price is? Or are there actually some whales who use the exchanges to trade on?

Whales play a major role toward the movement on the price of bitcoin. Since they own majority of the supply, they may be able to manipulate the market by purchasing/selling their shares depending on their goal (law of supply and demand).

Another factor that contributes to the price movement are consumers and users, in general. Due to bitcoin's limited supply, the more coins are being mined the prices and transaction fees increase on the market. In addition, the government may contribute to the price depending on their prohibition or laws relating to the adoption of cryptocurrencies.
3770  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM Alert] Amd-capital.ltd Ponzi scheme offering 50% return within 7 hours! on: November 27, 2020, 07:35:14 PM
Oh man, 50% return within 7 hours? This is just blatantly bad and at the same time disgusting.

I am wondering about the total accounts about the total deposited BTC overall. I mean, 992k~ worth deposited of BTC divided into 871 accounts- that is roughly like a 1.2k btcs/account was used! This is attempt is laughable at its best, and I do hope that newbies would totally stay away from this project.

Keep the reports coming and good work, OP.
3771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reason for calling Bitcoin scam on: November 27, 2020, 06:56:52 PM
<snip...>

If I were to add on your list OP, generally people associate bitcoin as a scam due to on how the media portrays cryptocurrencies. In addition, there are lots of ponzi schemes that offer ridiculous returns in a short amount of time which further impacts the image of bitcoin as a scam.

People who especially live in third-world countries are not that knowledgeable about bitcoin and they are easily influenced on hearsay about online investment. I remember that there were people talking about bitcoin as a form of a 'pyramid scheme' which is so out of line. I just do hope that the public would exert effort in order to know the potential of cryptocurrencies in the future of payments.
3772  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] Fake Ripple Airdrop via e-Mail [26.11.2020] on: November 27, 2020, 06:41:35 PM
I guess this scam will come because the price of ripple has now pumped into the market, which is being discussed a lot among crypto traders. So here the scammers are trying to take advantage of this interest of the traders as an opportunity.

Because when there is more discussion about a coin, new traders become more interested in that coin. This makes it very important to warn new traders. Thank you for bringing out this website.

That is true. But there are lots of fake/scam airdrops nowadays due to the bullish run of cryptocurrencies as a whole and scammers are taking advantage of such. This kind of email may seem innocent especially that airdrops are tempting to the eyes of a newbie.

I just find it disgusting that scammers are indeed taking advantage of every opportunity that arises at the moment in hopes of scamming at least one person from their malwares.
3773  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat currency based economy Question on: November 27, 2020, 11:58:15 AM
Experts say that in 2022 in the United States, payments on US obligations will exceed the amount of taxes collected, and it will be necessary to turn on the printing press for money again.
https://bitnovosti.com/2020/06/14/kogda-fiatnaya-valyuta-umiraet/
This will cause hyperinflation and depreciation of the dollar as a world currency. The world will need a new currency that is not subject to inflation.

What will it be? Maybe BTC  Smiley

The fact that they considered printing money in order to address such issue would definitely cause hyperinflation. This would backfire immediately in the US as the value of every dollar would drop globally.

Assuming that cryptocurrencies would become the 'new currency', wouldn't its price be subjected depending on who owns majority of the bitcoins stored due to its limited amount? I just hope that they consider cryptocurrencies as an 'alternative' payment method to most services and products available.
3774  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit & Difficulties 😑 on: November 26, 2020, 11:10:46 PM
Like what I have previously mentioned into similar threads that rant about the merit system being too 'tedious' and a 'difficult' task, I say that you should totally change your perspective.

Make actual contributions by learning cryptocurrencies and sharing your knowledge about them. If you bother too much and chase merits to the point that it became your top priority, chances are that most members would not even bother to merit your posts. On the other hand, if you shift your priority towards making an actual contribution to the forum, merits would be the one chasing you and not the opposite.

Do not give up hope. Learn from your mistakes and adapt from there. If you truly want to achieve such goal, then make it a point to put actual effort into your posts.
3775  Other / Meta / Re: Vote for the community!!! on: November 26, 2020, 07:05:27 PM
I do not want to leave the forum!
I don't want to break...
bypassing the ban
creating accounts
Once again I ask you to forgive for this violation
It was made by me by mistake

I want to learn, communicate, earn

I am sorry but I do not think that the moderators can tolerate this kind of behavior. If they were to extend such forgiveness and pardon, this would equate that similar cases like yours would apply to all future cases, which can be potentially destructive and dangerous in maintaining the balance of the forum.

Posting threads like these will not help and I believe there is no way but for you to accept your fate. You broke the rules so you have to suffer the consequences.
3776  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did anyone try to "gamble" with ponzi scheme crypto scam services? on: November 26, 2020, 05:58:35 PM
I think I do not need to explain what I mean by ponzi crypto scam. Every week I see at least ten new ponzi scheme scams.

They often offer something like 100% interest per 24h (or something similar). They commonly run for quite a few weeks (or months sometimes) before "they go scam" publicly. The obvious idea how to exploit them is to invest something small at the first day, withdraw it as fast as possible and repeat just with the interests from the previous bet (and of course take some money away from every successful round).

Has anyone tried that? Have you been successful? Is this kind of gambling popular/common. Has it name?

I remember last 2017, USI-tech visited my country and they held a conference. Most people were bragging about their bitcoin packages (1 package = $60) and the more packages you have, the greater the returns you will receive. I got convinced by this ponzi scheme (I was literally a newbie back then) and I invested around $150. I know the amount might be relatively low but for someone who lives in a third-world country, that amount is like a month's savings.

After checking everyday my packages, I observed that I was slowly recovering my earnings (they promised a 6-month time-frame) but after the 3rd month, the website crashed and all of my bitcoins were gone.

This fueled my anger and passion into reporting scam projects and ponzi schemes in the forum so I can at least prevent a person from experiencing the loss that incurred due to misinformation and naiveness.
3777  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] DeFiHold - Ponzi Scheme (5.5% daily for lifetime) on: November 26, 2020, 04:05:44 PM
I checked the website and everything that is written are all lies the home page has promised everything good if they invest in this Ponzi scheme imagine using the word for life, it's just impossible to give 5.5% for life, not even the biggest company and bank can give you that interest much more for life, only a total newbie will believe on this.

5.5% daily returns for a lifetime? Jeeesus, hopefully nobody falls for this nonsense. But if people get greedy, they might even fall for this trap...

Seriously, 5.5% daily returns for life?! Who the hell offers such kind of nonsense and ridiculous offer? In the eye of a newbie, this may seem very tempting at first especially when you visit the site, it shows some numbers of investments which is obviously a scam. I do hope that newbies or anyone would not fall into this kind of trap!

Thank you for supporting the flag and I hope other members also would support it!

3779  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why you shouldn't tire out with bignners on: November 26, 2020, 11:36:54 AM
I do understand that helping newbies is a paramount duty to every member of the forum (regardless of one's rank) as they will be the future members who will continue the cycle in the future.

The problem stems from repetitive questions which can be easily searched in the 'search bar' located at the right side of the forum. Everyone has their limitation and patience but I do hope that newbies would also do their part (i.e. exploring different boards, using the search bar, etc.) before they ask questions. Though learning cryptocurrencies is a relatively difficult task, once you do your part, you need to let them do theirs so they would learn.

3780  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Argentina raises Gambling tax on: November 25, 2020, 11:03:31 PM
Interesting that they focused the increase on online-betting platforms.

Maybe the impact of COVID-19 has shifted (more like compelled) most gamblers in the online platform, that is why the Government wants to take advantage on the increase of tax. Though additional tax may be additional expenses for the user, this would rather, serve as additional revenue for the Government that can be allocated to their priorities.

It is good for them if it will be regulated,

But I am worried about the small companies/platforms, unlike big companies who have enough gamblers. But all in all, this will be good for the sake of the country and their plans to improve the financial situation since the whole world is having a hard time aiding this problem.

I think that before the implementation of the tax increase, the Government considered the impact on the small/companies and platforms. Maybe the positive impact it brings as a whole outweigh the negative impact on the small-scale industries on the long run.
