2781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: October 31, 2021, 12:51:29 AM
What happened to the Dallas Mavericks? I was expecting a very close game but it's just a one sided beatdown.

Luka needs help badly. I think the Mavs trusted in his ability to carry the team too much. There's really nobody else when he struggles. I thought the likes of Hardaway Jr. could help out but that's still not the case unfortunately. Kristap is also unreliable even if healthy.

Right, he can't do it alone every game, someone needs to step up, like Hardaway and Kristap, but they too has been struggling at the beginning of the season. So that is very dangerous for the Mavs right now.

And Denver as well have been in the losing skid, just about time to end it with a big win against the Dallas Mavericks. They have the reigning MVP, so they will continue to find a win and take advantage of their opponents struggling, like in this case the Mavs.

Watched the game between Dallas vs Denver and it was just a complete chaos and massacre. You are definitely right, Luka cannot do everything to himself. Though he may be considered as the best player on the court, basketball is a team game where everyone must contribute and help each other in order to win.

Though it is still the start of the season and some players are still honing their team chemistry (Lakes, I'm looking at you), I do see that Denver can be a title contender in the playoffs with their deep bench and skill.
2782  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting started with escrow service. on: October 30, 2021, 07:09:12 PM
I have some crypto that is just sitting in my wallet. I came across escrow service like this one https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5154777.0 . My question is can a member of my rank also provide such service or its for only high ranks? How much minimum crypto I have to start this service? Lastly, how can I start this if I m eligible for this service. Thanks

While forum rank may be considered as a prima facie evidence of trustworthiness, such presumption may be overcome depending on several factors. Usually, users who offer escrow services are the ones who are proven to be competent, trustworthy, veteran, and knowledgeable in the forum. Though there can be no absolute guarantee that a veteran user has such qualities, it also depends on the level of trust that most people have offered to him.

For an example, Hhampuz has been offering his escrow services and campaign management ever since time immemorial. He has handled tons of BTCs in trust as a payment for the campaigns he has been handling. From his experience alone, he has proven to be trustworthy that people would consider him first with regard to escrow services.
2783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fiat-betting to crypto+betting on: October 30, 2021, 07:01:10 PM
What advantage does the crypto betting has over Fait betting?

First of all, it's all about the convenience it provides. Cryptocurrency betting has the advantage of convenience in terms of depositing or withdrawing as most websites offer such. Unlike in fiat, there are security risks that may happen (e.g. providing credit card details, personal information, etc.) whenever you try to withdraw funds. In addition, some gambling websites offer additional bonuses to accounts who deposit cryptocurrencies.

But in all honesty, even with the advantage of cryptocurrency betting, I would still choose to gamble fiat than cryptocurrencies since the latter is just too much valuable for long-term HODLing.
2784  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Learn to laugh even if Bitcoin is crashing on: October 30, 2021, 05:37:53 AM
Agree with you. Maybe what is meant here includes our patience in dealing with the market, especially in Bitcoin. This is the importance of good emotional control from you to yourself. Don't be sad if BTC goes down, the market cycle is starting. You just need to be patient and monitor market developments as often as possible. It is easy to say but in practice it is certainly difficult, so keep thinking optimistically so that you are sure of the steps you take.

In a way, it is easier said than done especially when you consider investments of other people which amount to millions of $$$ at their disposal.

Imagine, BTC investors who dropped hundreds to millions of dollars on their investment that the slightest increase/decrease on its price would mean a gain or loss amounting to a significant value of money. Though it may be relatively difficult to smile or to laugh at such situation, that would be the best course of action in order to prevent your emotions getting the best of you.
2785  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Logan Paul vs Mike Tyson on: October 30, 2021, 03:31:24 AM
Paul might kiss the mat for sure, but Tyson's probably going to have to earn that tucking Paul into bed for a well earned nanny-nap.   Grin
Its okay to kiss the mat or canvass as long he  could earn millions of usd then it wouldn't matter that much.He could handle out that shame though.  Cheesy

Everyone would do everything for money and its hell of a lot obvious on who would win on this one but still pushes  through because they do know that they
can benefit out.Well its not a surprise.

Lets just hope that this one would be entertaining or some sort of some clown show.

If Logan will be hit at least just one punch.
This is an exhibition so it must be for money, fans will still be watching even if it is an exhibition. Kissing the canvass will still make Logan money, this is the kind of profit-making scheme the 2 brothers are up to that even in the most critical situation today of the economy, the 2 are making huge income. This year alone Paul made an estimated around $10 million just for the Mayeather fight. His brother is about to fight with Tommy Fury which this year alone will have 3 boxing fights.

To be honest if I were in Logan Paul's shoes, I would probably create more opportunities to be involved in exhibition fights as this guarantees millions of dollars in my pocket. I mean even if I am against the world's most dangerous boxer (during his prime), I would push through this fight regardless of the comments, backlash, or criticisms involved. At the end of the day, business is business. This grants us the privilege to see Tyson in the ring again beating up someone who is considered hated by most.
2786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HODL, HODL, HODL when can one actually sell Bitcoin? on: October 28, 2021, 04:13:01 PM
So I keep hearing HODL, HODL, keep holding and all that. My simple question to everyone is "when is actually the right time to sell Bitcoin or we don't ever sell it"?

How then do we say we have made money from it if we don't sell?

This depends on the holder of such BTC and one's plans on their investment.

Let me ask you a question (assuming that you do stocks), when does one sell their stocks? It all depends on whether they are holding stocks of blue chip companies (long-term investment) or they do day trading (short-term investment). In BTC by just basing it on its price history, the trend is always upward. Though many have speculated that its price may increase more in the future, people HODL depending on their goals.

Personally, I HODL until the next fork which is roughly 2-4 years from now.
2787  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Additional Requirement from CoinsPh on: October 28, 2021, 02:34:45 PM

Sige, let me do something about it for extra security na din!

I think remittances or LBC cost more transaction fees?
Sa pag kakaalam ko Php 10 pero Php 1,000 transaction. So, kung 20,000 that's around Php 200. Medyo masakit sa bulsa bro hehe.
E bank transfer mo nalang siguro. Instapay Php 10 every transaction regardless of the amount. Ganyan ginagawa ko up until now. I have tried sending from Coins.ph to my account na more than 20,000. So, I guess you'll be fine at walang mangyayari sa account mo.

I think based from my experience, every time nag wiwithdraw ako dati around P4,000, ang transaction fees ata ng LBC nasa P60-P100 as far as I know? Though hindi ako updated, pero I'll check na lang din if ever since dito ako nasanay kunin yung mga proceeds!
2788  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling addiction is getting real on: October 28, 2021, 12:36:14 PM
What? You $20k in just 2-3 days time? Sorry for you loss man, I can't even imagine how did you lost it consciously in just a short time frame. Yea maybe that money was just a profit from trading recently as you said, but dude 20k is 20k even if it didn't affect your life.

Certainly you're still quite lucky enough because you managed to stop even if your mind tells you to take back and recover from your lose, because that's the most crucial moment before you get yourself addicted from gambling. And yes you should take some rest and let your mind and body breath for a while before deciding wether you'll go back to retrieve what you lost or just stop it for good.

The problem with gambling addiction stems from that 'false hope' where a gambler thinks that he can recover his losses by gambling again. I call this term as the 'gambler's cycle' where a person continues to gamble believing that he would be able to recover his losses by gambling.

Personally, I have seen my brother suffered from this addiction. Heck, he even has this urge to gamble away his monthly income despite telling me that he would "STOP" after winning one such round.

Like what Rufsilf said, it is a good thing that you managed to do a 'reality check' on yourself and stop the damage from increasing.
2789  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Additional Requirement from CoinsPh on: October 26, 2021, 08:02:20 AM
The problem is, plan ko din mag benta ng BTC maybe by 2022 (~P100,000) pero natatakot ako na baka biglang ma-hold ito or anything whatsoever. Meron ba kayong tips or experience if ever mag cash out ako ng ganitong halaga?
Kahit na naka address verified [level 3] yung account mo, may chance na ifaflag nila yung transaction mo [automated process] once magbago bigla yung behavior ng account mo [e.g. iwithdraw yung buong laman ng wallet while it was mostly used for depositing money]!
- Mas maganda kung mag withdraw/cash out ka in smaller increments para mas safe ka [the same goes for depositing a significant amount].

Thank you very much for the reply, SFR10.

Before kasi, I used to cash-out siguro mga maliliit lang na halaga around P2,000-P10,000 through LBC. Do you have any suggestions kung anong saan pwedeng thid-party exchange gawin to? Is LBC okay din kaya like ang gagawin ko, mag cash-out ako around P20,000 every week? I have to plan this kasi ito din talaga iniiwasan ko na baka ma-flag nga account ko.

Anyway, I appreciate the reply and gagawin ko din to! Thank you for this essential tip!
2790  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Kyc is deceitful if ignorant of the bad side on: October 25, 2021, 06:42:04 PM
I agree, KYC is evil and should be avoided at all costs!!   Shocked

Sooner or later all the information you provide to these exchanges is going to get sold on black market.

Then someone else will use your credentials to perform online operations.

And if so happens that they do anything illegal.

Your data will be attached to it and you'll end up in much trouble.

So, just please stop using exchanges/services with KYC.

The problem of KYC stems from providing your personal information to a third-party website that has full control over your records. In the event that such website takes advantage of your personal data, you are at the constant risk of having identity theft or information fraud in the black market.

On the other hand, KYC also protects the establishment in providing security to their database. Though many have argued against the usage of such, there must be a line drawn on how KYC could be balanced that will be advantageous to both parties.
2791  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you pay with crypto??? on: October 25, 2021, 06:04:12 PM
I am interested what do you guys use for payments.

I like Litecoin paying the most (superfast and supercheap) but I am not afraid to pay with Bitcoin.

Doing this little research because I am preparing project
I will appreciate honest answers and comments

Thank you

Ever since my country has started to be lenient into BTC, merchants nowadays can utilize the option of demanding BTC as payment to their products. Not to mention, GRAB (which is Uber in the Philippines) has this option where you can convert your BTC into their credits so you could enjoy their services being offered to the public.

Though back in 2018-2020 I have constantly used BTC as payment (I viewed it as fiat also), I understood that the value of it is much more valuable due to its inflation and limited supply. That is why currently, I save most of my BTCs and HODL them for long-term value.
2792  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: October 25, 2021, 05:54:44 PM
Finally, the Lakers had their first win, but, it was a close game and they almost lose this game.

Westbrook is still below his standard, only scored 13 points but I'm glad Melo bring back the clock and he was the leading scorer of the team with 28 pionts and 6-8 shooting from 3, that was insane.  Smiley

They still have a long way to go in order fully maximize their individual strengths as a player. Though the game demonstrated exceptional skill, what glues them together is the leadership they gain from Lebron James. The game earlier also was a privilege for everyone since we got to see a vintage Melo performance with his 6/8 threes and dominant perimeter shooting.

The game between the Kings and the Warriors showed on why Curry will always be dominant on the three. Not to mention, the unsung heroes of Warrior's bench carried the whole game as they definitely have a very deep roster. Jordan Poole has shown significant improvement and his confidence with his shot making abilities makes him a constant threat now.
2793  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Logan Paul vs Mike Tyson on: October 25, 2021, 04:50:22 PM
Because we all know how strong Mike Tyson is, 23 people voted for him, and now I'm interested about the one person who voted for Logan Paul.

Logan Paul is brave, but when it comes to skills and other factors, we all know who will win, and it's obvious. There is a significant difference between them, and I hope that some discussions about how the game will run are held, as this is merely a sporting event that should not be conducted professionally because if it is, someone would most likely be gravely wounded. Well, in the end, it'll be just a money game I guess.

We really have to remind ourselves that Mike Tyson used to dominate the boxing league during his prime. I remember, he used to accept 1-2 fights every month, unlike today's boxing where a fight usually happens once every 1-2 years depending on the boxers involved.

Mike Tyson is not just your regular heavyweight champion. HE IS A MONSTER who dominated and was feared during his career. Logan Paul, on the other hand, while he is considered as a fighter ALSO, he is in no terms equal to the level of Mike Tyson.
2794  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Additional Requirement from CoinsPh on: October 25, 2021, 03:17:57 PM

Meron ba kayong tips or experience if ever mag cash out ako ng ganitong halaga?

Nevertheless, anything na may additional requirement kapag mag sesend sa coins.ph ay isang double-edged sword. While favorable ito sa kanila, medyo hindi ito favorable sa atin as extra documents means extra security din!
2795  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New York launches RFP for new casinos rising the taxation to 64% on: October 25, 2021, 03:08:44 PM
Wait, what?! 64% tax for the establishments and regulation of Casinos? That would definitely put a toll to both present and potential business owners that plan on starting on such state. Just like what Justice Marshall mentioned: "The power to tax involves the power to destroy."

If the government plans on maintaining such tax rate, then the citizens must feel the changes brought about it. Better government expenditure and project development should be expected with this kind of outrageous tax implementation.
2796  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to explain Bitcoin to Newbies on: October 25, 2021, 10:56:25 AM
There's a friend about Bitcoin last 2 years who have no interest in it but I was surprised when he came to me last week to tell me what he need to know about Bitcoin. I asked him why the sudden change of heart, he told me about the testimony he hear from someone and how he would have made enough profit effortlessly.

He's still a newbie. My question is, is there a way or link for to explain Bitcoin to newbies?

Apart from the forum rules and regulations is there a thread on this forum that explains in detail the whole concept of crypto currency on this forum?

Well for starters, you can refer to him this forum so he can utilize the search bar if there are any questions that he might ask. Another thing, I would refer to this video since it explained cryptocurrencies using real-life applications. It is very informative as it covered subjects on the blockchain, ledgers, nodes, etc.

What the video did not tackle are the issues revolving around BTCs. Remember that due to its anonymity, it may be used as a currency for illegal transactions under the dark web. But the internet will be your material as there are tons of videos/threads explaining BTC to newbies.

2797  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going for the Underdog or Not? on: October 24, 2021, 06:21:57 PM

I'm not sure if this had been asked before. This is just an example of some odds that I saw recently Fighter A (1.30) vs Fighter B (3.65). With this obviously, Fighter A is the people's champ and Fighter B is the underdog.

Regardless of who is bigger and undefeated record, let's say you have no idea who these fighters are because the names can't even be read like Ulshrkubyki vs Ykwehgyfvbh. If you only have $10 left in your sports betting account, would you go for the champ which you can only earn $3, or go for the underdog which if he got lucky can triple your money?

This actually depends on the capital and the money that I am willing to bet on.

Obviously, if I were to bet between to fighters in which I have no recollection or knowledge about their previous records, the obvious answer here would be the person who has the higher odds. I mean, what would be the difference? I know nothing so might as well bet on the person who has the higher odds.

My answer would be different if I were to risk an amount which is considered high. But if we are talking only about less than $50, I would bet everything to the underdog.
2798  Economy / Economics / Re: When you sell is no longer "yours" on: October 24, 2021, 05:53:19 PM
This may seem very obvious, but some people do not seem to clearly understand what selling means. For example, I know a few people for a mid-size village that, during a housing boom, sold quite a bit of land to developers and made a development plan that was pretty much crazy (high rise on small streets, minimal walkways, no space for public services, ...). They were very happy about getting the money. Now, all I hear is complaints about how many disgusting people that are not born there came to live to "their village".

When you sell, is no longer yours. When you sell your bitcoin for more than you paid, you may be happy about it, but unless you have an investment to make or would like to buy something else, all you have left is... fiat. And fiat finds its way out of pockets very quickly.

In Law, a contract of sale means a transfer of ownership from the vendor to the buyer. It contemplates that the vendor has valid title to such when he transferred his property to the buyer for a reasonable consideration thereof. Basically whenever you sell something, it is commutative where you sell something and you receive something in return.

By applying such in BTC, once you sell your cryptos, you receive a consideration thereof depending on its current market value. But the price may vary due to its inflation and volatility- that is why some considered crypto as a form of investment.
2799  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Logan Paul vs Mike Tyson on: October 24, 2021, 05:42:18 PM
As far as I know Mike Tyson wants to fight Logan Paul just for the money because the blogger has a huge number of subscribers. If I'm not mistaken he doesn't even care which brother to fight. Mike Tyson needs the money and it will be interesting to see what he will do for it.
It's definitely just a show, nothing more. This fight will have nothing to do with boxing or sports, it's just a show for the money. Well, this is Tyson's business. Previously, when he was young, he knew how to fight well, but he did not know how to handle money, and therefore he lost everything. Now he cannot be a good fighter because of his age, but he can make money, which is what he does.

According to the an article that I read (will post the article link below), it has been agreed that the winnings of the fight will total up to $100 million dollars, in which majority of which shall yield to Mike Tyson. According also to that article, Mike Tyson has no intention of knocking-out Logan Paul due to the demands of his family. Apparently, his children like Logan Paul which stops Tyson from knocking him out.

I definitely believe that Tyson still has the raw power, skill, and technique to finish this exhibition fight.

2800  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you spend your Bitcoin? on: October 24, 2021, 05:36:18 PM
Do you spend your Bitcoins or just hodl?

If you spend
What for and do you miss something that cannot be bought for Bitcoin yet?

If you hodl
For how long and why don't you spend?
Do you have exit strategy or you will spend it after you can buy your desired thing?

Like what I told in previous threads like these, I used to spend my BTCs back in 2017 (1 BTC = ~$4,000) in order to purchase books and educational materials during college. As someone who grew up with a single dad raising a family of 5, I was the least priority in terms of receiving financial support as it was focused more to my younger siblings.

Participating into campaign signatures provided me the opportunity to purchase books which significantly helped me throughout college life. After graduating college, that was the only time I started to HODL. I plan on HODLing until by the end of 2022 where I can finally cash-out some of the BTCs in order to purchase a 2nd-hand car.
