381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] KAPU - The first Archaeological Blockchain - on: January 28, 2018, 01:40:25 PM
Still no news about listing on an exchange?

Yes, I missed the ICO so I'm also very intested in this to buy Kapu! Maybe devs will update us in the next few weeks...
382  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Vulnerability discovered in Electrum 2.6 to 3.0.4: please upgrade on: January 28, 2018, 11:16:16 AM
1) I have windows view. When running version 3.0.5 of electrum, it gives me errors: in api-ms-win-crt-runtime-I1-1-0.dll and in python_dll. I downloaded these dll, but the errors continue.

1) that is the problem with older versions of windows (like windows 7). you need to install the latest updates. install KB2999226 and it should work.

If anyone is missing Windows 7 Service Pack 1, which is a prerequisite for KB2999226, you may be having some issues with installing that particular update, presented with the message "This update is not applicable to your computer".  There may also be issues obtaining SP1 directly through Windows Update because it's horribly broken and useless.

The official download for Service Pack 1 is here.  If you're still having issues, because it's not always as straight forward as running the update, you can either try these steps, or the following (easier) steps:

  • Download WSUS Offline Update
  • Extract wherever you like and run UpgateGenerator.exe
  • Select Windows 7 and press "Start"
  • Wait for what feels like an eternity
  • Once that's finished, exit UpgateGenerator.exe then navigate to the /client folder and run UpdateInstaller.exe
  • Tick the box for .NET Framework and again press "Start"
  • Wait for ages again until it eventually reboots and then reboots again

You should now have a message saying Service Pack 1 is installed and you can proceed to installing the KB2999226 update.

I have a similar issue but I'm on windows 8.1. It also says: "Error Loading Python DLL".

Do you know how to fix it?

If anyone else still has such issues, I found a solution to fix it: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2833220.0
383  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Error Loading Python DLL on: January 28, 2018, 11:10:35 AM
I solved!

These are the steps if anyone else experience similar problems:

1. I changed the permissions of my temp folder. Here is the step-by-step guide: https://superuser.com/questions/668820/google-drive-error-python27-dll
2. I copied python35.dll and python3.dll in system32 and  sysWOW64 folder. I gotta thank this user: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/drive/qcHYkqeikLE
3. I installed the latest windows updates and rebooted.
4. Once reboteed, finally I can run both ELectrum and ElectonCash.

Thank you @tryninja for your help anyway!

So, the file above didn't fixed it?

Quote
On Windows 7 and 8.1, binaries might work by default; if they don't work, the end-user should

  • try installing the KB2999226 Windows update
  • try installing Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015

I get this error:

387  Bitcoin / Electrum / Error Loading Python DLL [SOLVED] on: January 27, 2018, 04:25:05 PM
As suggested, I'm trying to upgrade to Electrum-3.0.5 because of security issues.

But if I launch this upgraded version of Electrum, it failed to start and a pop-up opens saying : "Error Loading Python DLL".

What's the problem and how can I fix it?

I have a similar need, but I could use not only bank transfers, but credit cards and paypal as well. Is there an exchange which accept such methods with no verification needed?

Huh...if to talk about political engagement and bias, courts are not always independent— they are often influenced by other institutions and people. How would you solve this problem..!?

I agree with your opinion. Courts can be corrupted in many ways and thus decentralizing and making completely transparent is not easy. But this is a very ambitious project anyway, so I hope they will gain huge success with their ICO!
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin cash or Bitcoin gold? on: October 28, 2017, 08:00:57 PM
BCH is kind of established now. Not sure if BTG will end up with that kind of support considering the price dip we're seeing now after the fork. However, both have been received well by the community, so there is definitely still hope.

Yes, Bitcoin Cash is usually on top 10 of coinmarketcap.com and I think it will last for a long period of time. Regarding Bitcoin Gold, well, it already looks like a failed project. It got no hype and many people are very skeptical about its utility. But let's see for further developments (like new exchanges, wallets, etc.). Maybe the price will go up and we will be able to make money with easiness
394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Airswap a decentralized exchange token, could it be the next 10x? on: October 28, 2017, 07:56:51 PM
You made a very good analisys, Timothy! I think and hope decentralized exchange will be the future. I'm sick and tired of decentralized exchanges that disappear with people's money, require documents and are often hacked. I already use etherdelta for ETH-tokens and it's very good, although not so easy to use. But the future of decentralized exchanges is bright and it's necessary to let people trade with privacy and safety.
395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Going to buy 6 coins, want advice on: October 28, 2017, 07:42:26 PM
Hey, I want to buy six coins. GNT, BAT, CVC, SYS, STORJ and WINGS. I have few questions. Im going to buy them all through coinbase/bittrex but my question is where should I store them? Also would anyone advice me to NOT buy any of the coins? Thanks

Well, if you did your own due diligence and find good reasons to buy such coins, why not? Money is yours and thus you can spend it anyway you want.
About storing, well, official wallets are always the safest way. But if you don't have enough disk space you may find good multi-coin wallets. I think one of most popular ones is coinomi. Also bitquence is developing a multicoin wallet. Putting your money on exchanges is not recommended because it is very likely your funds will disappear (sooner or later...)
396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CLOSED] 🚀 FREE AIRDROPS 🚀 - 🌟 eBIT 🌟 -💰 1st of 25 rounds on: October 28, 2017, 07:38:35 PM
If people cannot sell or transfer their coins, what's the meaning of this project? No use for speculation, no use to buy stuff online, no use to donate, etc. It seems quite useless if coins are basically "locked".
Also, if people cannot sell, how other people could buy on etherdelta?
397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] MONETHA - Decentralised reputation with built-in payments on: October 28, 2017, 07:32:48 PM
I agree with the above post. Just be patient. If they rush, what kind of product would you get?

This morning I received an e-mail from paypal to change my legal obligations. I closed my Paypal-account. Paypal has a monopoly and they abuse it.

I would welcome Monetha as a welcome an better alternative!

I agree with you completely! Paypal sucks and so do Skrill and other traditional e-payment systems. They require lots of verification, have absurd limits and just do what they want with your money. They can close accounts and ban people for whatever reason they want. It's time to find better alternatives and make them fall.
398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CND] Cindicator - Hybrid Intelligence for Financial Markets - September 12 on: October 28, 2017, 07:28:13 PM
Too bad I missed this ICO! This looks like the future of trading, a mix of artificial and human intelligence will be able to change the way people trade forever.
Where can I buy Cindicator tokens now?

https://mercatox.com/exchange/CND/BTC

https://hitbtc.com/CND-to-BTC

Right now it's trading on both exchanges so you buy this token using ETH too. Mercatox has much faster system for deposit and withdrawal as compare with hitbtc.

Thank you for your reply! I never used mercatox so I don't know how it works. Can we trade Cindicator on etherdelta as well, anyway?

400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: best altcoin to collect? on: October 28, 2017, 07:22:58 PM
Waves

I agree. They provide the best platform for truly decentralized exchange; easy for use even for newbies (unlike other decentralized exchanges). Also, it is very underpriced at the moment, so I think it's a good investment right now...
