Turkish hackers.....Let me check....Yep, that was the only thing this thread was missing.

Not just any Turkish hack people:

RedHack is the first and only hacker group which is accused of being a terrorist organization[3] and is currently under the worlds most wanted 5 hacker groups[citation needed].

Don't really sound like the most terrible terrorists in the world though:

It never occurred to me until this whole fiasco how "forging" can also have connotations of illicit activity, and not only refer to forging steel or something (which I think is the intended meaning). If all the forgers agree on a new fiction, then it shall be a reality, or something Tongue

How is it any different than "mining"?

How is it illicit activity?

Forging/forgery, like forging checks or other financial documents, is typically a felonious offense. Afaik there is no such illegal type connotations with mining (at least before the rise of botnets, but that is a stretch).

So, I guess this is why Monocle was a good idea, hopefully things go much smoother when vert does hardfork to change algo. This fork has been a debacle. Why oh why didn't I dump my few thousand exe at 40k satoshi on last pump?

Not sure who Vertan the Great is, but seems like he is quite wise. Grok grok.

My scrypt p2pool node over at stratum+tcp://birdspool.no-ip.org:5556 is officially merged mining! Since the infrastructure currently isn't set up for paying the extra coinage that we're making out to miners, I'm working with the P2pool geeks and we're converting the "free" coins to MYR, and donating it to the MyriadPlatform fund! More details at http://www.reddit.com/r/myriadcoin/comments/2dk3e3/myriadplatformorg_funding_initiative_calling_all/

If you are new to merged mining, please see this post which explains what merged mining is: http://www.reddit.com/r/myriadcoin/comments/2dmg83/merge_mining_what_is_it_how_does_it_work/

A short tl;dr: Merge mining does not affect your mining profits; essentially it is "free lunch". So in doing this donation drive, you, the miners, are not affected in any way. We won't be donating forever... Just until PolyMYR comes up. You could look at this like we're beta testing merged mining.

nice birdonwheels! will definitely keep hashing at birdspool  Smiley

Just wanted to come by and say congrats! You guys reached the top post on the front page of /r/cryptocurrency on reddit:

Maybe when people are asking legitimate questions you should treat them as such instead of calling people trolls, idiots, and FUDders. If you want to be treated like a professional, you should act like one (i.e. don't hide pertininent information from your main webpages and then name-call people who ask about it).
3871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAC] TalkCoin | Decentralized Communications Currency | NIST5 on: August 12, 2014, 04:16:10 PM
Someone should fork this coin, remove the dev fee, and call it Free Communication Coin (FCC).  Tongue
3872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAC] TalkCoin | Decentralized Communications Currency | NIST5 on: August 12, 2014, 03:34:00 PM
The only mistake made is that this thread is not self moderated and we're forced to see the same bunch of idiots, trolls that repeat the same thing over and over.
you fcking asshole, you call people fooled by you idiots???!!! u motherfker!!!!

Couldn't have said it better myself, but I gave it a shot over at /r/cryptocurrency on reddit anyway. Thanks for taking the time to answer my concerns about not having the dev fee listed anywhere on the first post or on the homepage...oh wait, that's right, you just called me an idiot and a troll.
3873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAC] TalkCoin | Decentralized Communications Currency | NIST5 on: August 12, 2014, 01:41:30 PM
nobody will trust you ,Dev,a liar is always a liar,fk yourself and just let this coin die.
in fact ,dev should admit the mistakes he had made, and give us a roadmap of dealing with this issue.we should not shout at each other, it's nonsense.

Which ones?

Everything was already explained in the first thread here.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=573998.0

And this thread is not mine, I can't edit it.

The only mistake made is that this thread is not self moderated and we're forced to see the same bunch of idiots, trolls that repeat the same thing over and over.

Why don't you have it on the first page of this ANN thread, you know, the thread that you do have control over? Or why don't you put it on the homepage? I guess I found TAC after you switched to this thread, so I wasn't aware of this at all.

Also, thanks for calling me an idiot, you fucking scammer. I'm dumping what I got and I'm done with this purple shit.
3874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAC] TalkCoin | Decentralized Communications Currency | NIST5 on: August 12, 2014, 01:30:06 PM
The first wallet isn't the dev's wallet ... it have been posted earlier in the thread...

You even pointed to the dev's wallet yourself a couple of posts ago: TgD7ERrggBPezx6JPP2bpWjAFQW1rafzCn ..  Roll Eyes

Derp. Sorry. Good point.

Would be harder to mix up if dev would just put wallet and description of how it works on first page.

Here is relevant info from dev wallet:

So you're correct, dev has *only* collected a little over 500k TAC, or just over 6% of total coins in existence. This is still something that needs to be mentioned on the first page and home page.
3875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAC] TalkCoin | Decentralized Communications Currency | NIST5 on: August 12, 2014, 12:54:36 PM
Yes i see you guys haven't read or understood anything that have been explained and answered in the last few pages and keep spamming the same shit over and over.

lol .. right on keep spamming then  Roll Eyes

There's still nothing on the ANN page or the home page about it. Dev has taken 25% of all coins in existence and it's not even worth mentioning in one sentence on the first page?

lol...right on keep scamming then Roll Eyes
3876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAC] TalkCoin | Decentralized Communications Currency | NIST5 on: August 12, 2014, 12:08:34 PM
Just explain how this coin is dirty in the first place ?

Allow me to explain.

There's nothing on the ANN page or home page regarding dev donations. If you look at the block explorers, you can see that this is the dev's address: TgD7ERrggBPezx6JPP2bpWjAFQW1rafzCn.

So far there's been 8.06M TAC coins mined. Of those ~8M more than 1.8M coins have gone to the dev's address (dev's address is top one on richlist here: http://talk.cryptocoinunion.com/ ). This is nearly 25% of all coins in existence.

So, there's nothing explaining about dev fees on the home page or the ANN page, and yet the dev has basically taken (effectively) a premine of almost 25%.

Seems legit... /s
3877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAC] TalkCoin | Decentralized Communications Currency | NIST5 on: August 11, 2014, 09:15:24 PM
3% may not be that much in your eyes, but it's quite significant in mine and more than enough to be on the first ANN post

If you don't want the open source developers earn a tiny amount of the total coin reward then vote 0, this is not fixed.

But note than 0 reward, it's also 0 development, 0 effort and no team behind to continue work...

Talkcoin was made so to be a long term project.

You can't have your cake and eat it too, that's why other coins are abandoned by the devs.

I don't think 3% of every block reward is totally unreasonable, however, I do believe it should be clearly stated on the coin's ann page or home page, which it isn't in this case. I do think 30% of every block reward is unreasonable, and I just found out about this today, after holding and mining some tac and following thread for some time.

As to your other point:
Quote
You can't have your cake and eat it too, that's why other coins are abandoned by the devs.

That would seem to be largely at odds with the most successful coins in the world, that includes not only btc and ltc, but newer coins such as monero and cryptonite.

I'm not mad. I'm not holding enough to get worked up about it. I just think it's being less than upfront to not make it more clear that the devs get 3% (or previously much more) of all coins generated. It's totally absent from the first ANN page and the homepage. How are people supposed to know?
3878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAC] TalkCoin | Decentralized Communications Currency | NIST5 on: August 11, 2014, 08:00:51 PM
3% may not be that much in your eyes, but it's quite significant in mine and more than enough to be on the first ANN post, and if it's not there than it is being hidden to some extent.

30% is scammy.
3879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAC] TalkCoin | Decentralized Communications Currency | NIST5 on: August 11, 2014, 06:59:13 PM
My god ...

Any of you guys read at all ?

The devs aren't getting 30% of the blocks, it was back when the voting system for this reward allowed for it to happen. Now it can't be more than 3%.
And of course the devs have the security keys to the voting system and other crap .. how do you think they could change it otherway  Roll Eyes

Same with the guys spamming every hour to remove the voting system , it have been said like ..50 times it would be changed, i read the thread once in a while and i still know this..

While the first post could be changed the devs have also always been straightforward when asked about details like those.

I don't read it obsessively, but I check the thread when it pops up on my watchlist, and I didn't realize that. I'm not hugely involved, but it's clearly not made clear, and so if they were getting 30% or greater, that is scammy, and even 3% they should be very up front about, i.e. put it on the first post of the thread in big letters or something. I don't like the boolberry guy taking 1% off the top (edit: actually it's an optional 1% donation of each block that is optional, but on by default), but at least he's upfront about it. Maybe you need to be able to read chinese to get the message or something.
3880  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAC] TalkCoin | Decentralized Communications Currency | NIST5 on: August 11, 2014, 06:41:30 PM
voting system is indeed a bullshit!  it will be cancel!  dev cheat us two mouth! Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry

retarded kiddo Smiley

I hate to say it, but I have to agree with zxbball. There is nothing on the ANN page about the devs getting all of the fees that go towards voting. In fact, if you read through it, it kind of implies that the fees from voting will be destroyed, because slightly above the section on voting it talks about how fees from chatting get destroyed by sending to genesis block, and there is nothing specific said about voting fees, so one would assume that they are destroyed as well. It's certainly misleading, and if they're receiving 30% of the block rewards, then it seems pretty fucking scammy.
