I agree, self moderated lending threads are a bad call.
42  Other / Meta / Re: What exactly are the rules of the forum and where do I find them ? on: May 30, 2014, 07:49:06 PM
I know that you can make other accounts , but can a banned user make an alt account ?
Can a scammer make an alt account ?

Banned user, no alt accounts allowed.
Scammer, alt accounts allowed but trust rating will (probably) be flagged if it's found out

I'm not sure if there's a good collection of rules anywhere, I'll have to look into this more later when I've got time to dig.
43  Other / Meta / Re: Our topic(SatoshiCarnival) just got moved to Games & Rounds for no reason on: May 28, 2014, 11:37:49 PM
Just edit the main post so it would link to the giveaway and contact a Global moderator to move it back.

Any global moderator in particular, or any one example for that matter?

Thank you.

Your best bet is to edit the post, then click the "Report to moderator" link and provide some information.  A sentence or two with a link to this thread should be adequate evidence to have it moved back.
44  Other / Meta / Re: My trust rating on: May 26, 2014, 04:33:09 AM
Either way the guy is a douchebag and the trust system is flawed and theymos knows this but he won't do shit about it meanwhile people like me who build a credible trust rating are shit on by scumbags.

tried to pm theymos about it but  SURPRISE SURPRISE Admin of this site is MIA. theymos is interested in selling forum ad space and nothing more so he can put the BTC in his own pocket. He does a horrible job at Admin this site.

bullshit is exactly what it is.

No, you're just not going to get an exception to the rule.  The only kind of trust that will be deleted is if someone is spamming the system.  Other than that the trust system is not moderated, and this is a well known (and already mentioned in thread) fact.
45  Other / Meta / Re: How do people get banned? on: May 25, 2014, 02:42:24 PM
What does whitelisting do or is that redundant now since the demise of the newbie jail?

It reduces the wait time between posting, I believe it's cut to 25%.

Also, who are the patrollers and what do they do other than moderate newbs? I haven't seen any of them, or do they just fall under 'staff'?

They do just fall under staff, I'm not sure of the entire list but know that I'm part of that group.
46  Other / Meta / Re: Mods clarification please. on: May 25, 2014, 01:36:09 AM
Details are good!  If there's info in there it can help make the decision process much easier.
47  Other / Meta / Re: Mods clarification please. on: May 25, 2014, 12:40:48 AM
We can see everything that's typed in the report box AFAIK, I don't think I've ever seen a report cut off.
48  Other / Meta / Re: Removing legacy scammer tags on: May 24, 2014, 11:20:08 PM
You think that is TF and not that he sold the account?  I don't think it's TF.

Actually it is him. There is a way to tell but I'm keeping my mouth shut about it.

I'm calling bullshit on this one unless the method is actually disclosed.
49  Other / Meta / Re: Changing my Forum username... on: May 23, 2014, 05:48:46 PM
I think this is for only Donator and VIP other members cannot change user-name as we can check TradeFortress done now he is Free hugs

theymos tends to do it for old members if it's a reasonable request.
50  Other / Meta / Re: I did not know. on: May 23, 2014, 05:38:18 PM
If the posts keep degenerating it might be cool off ban time, thoughts BadBear?
51  Other / Meta / Re: I did not know. on: May 23, 2014, 04:19:57 PM
OP,

You're just digging a deeper hole with every post.  How can you be trusted with a $4000 loan if you can't hold your shit together and write a coherent post?  Turning on caps lock and smashing out a few sentences generally doesn't go over well anywhere on the internet.  What Vod did was definitely right, any new account that comes on here asking for a loan should be flagged!  Why do you think you have the right to instantly get a $4000 loan from strangers on the internet?
52  Economy / Auctions / Re: [BOUNTY] Mathematica fcns for RIPEMD-160 and base58 coding (0.05 BTC each) on: May 22, 2014, 03:19:04 PM
I'm with CaeZar on this one.  Peter R did just ask for base58 encode and decode, nothing about formatting it for bitcoin addresses.
53  Other / Meta / Re: Where is theymos???? on: May 21, 2014, 09:52:44 PM
theymos really isn't the guy you should be talking to about something like that, it's not an admin only issue.  That should really go to moderators before heading straight to the admin.

***Edit: I also reported that thread to the USDA and i did in fact mention that to theymos in the MSG to him

Was that part really necessary?
54  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] http://www.bitcharity.net - Donate to 4 different charities monthly on: May 21, 2014, 09:10:59 PM
Any ideas to the above statements?

It's your project, make it happen!
55  Other / Meta / Re: would the thread be allowed? on: May 20, 2014, 12:31:29 AM
Have the thread restricted to only posts with the pictures, no comments or replies, and it should be fine.  That way there's no spam!
56  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] http://www.bitcharity.net - Donate to 4 different charities monthly on: May 19, 2014, 02:11:13 PM
If you're actually legit about collecting funds for a charity, we can get a 2 of 3 wallet setup and I will do one of the signatures.  The suggestion of holding the funds in BTC and convincing the charities to accept BTC instead of $ is a good idea too.
57  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] http://www.bitcharity.net - Donate to 4 different charities monthly on: May 18, 2014, 01:59:22 PM
Have any proof that you're actually legit?

The site being under WHOISGUARD isn't a good sign...
58  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A QUICK READ OF THE NEWBIE README on: May 14, 2014, 07:18:42 PM
What is activity?
  • Increase activity by staying logged in OR posting.

I believe logging in your account won't do the job. The only way to increase the "time" is to make a post in the period.

time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration

Good call, I've corrected the OP.  Logging in does nothing for activity, you are correct about increasing "time".

Also, accidentally edited your post first instead of quoting it!
59  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A QUICK READ OF THE NEWBIE README on: May 14, 2014, 05:01:00 PM
Ok, I have one question. I see that one of the forum rule is "NO REFERRAL LINKS", Is It true really? Because I often see referral links posted by other member in all kind of forum sections?

You can put them in your signature and provide them when people ask for links, but you can't start threads just to post them or spam your referral all over. If someone asks for a good betting site, I think it's ok to use it then, but all over times; no.

^^^ Pretty much this! ^^^

The only time it's really acceptable to post referral links is if someone is asking for a website recommendation.
