Gov owning BTCs is the worst thing we can imagine. and block Gov "seized" BTCs using the miners is even worse. (for the image of bitcoin etc)
But we refuse accepting BTC from these address or stop using the exchanges who accept BTC from them in a white/clean protest, is it possible?
Stopping BTC from being spent sets an awful precedent. Who decides if we can spend BTC in that situation? This would be regulation on top of Bitcoin, something I thought most people here didn't want.

If you can do ACH transfers check out coinbase.

I'm guessing it has something to do with not all functionality being enabled on the site right now.
|
|

Or maybe to support the forum and staff? The forum has like 2 thirds of a million bucks in BTC already. I thought only ad revenue goes towards paying staff, while donations are for updating forum software? You're right, and it's not even all of the add revenue only a percentage of it.

That's about 1 penny of BTC every minute.... WOOHOO!

that's funny, I used to be a hero member with something on the order of 1500 posts, i guess i've been reduced in rank for not liking ads?
Your rank is different because it's based off of activity now instead of post count. Been like this for almost 4 months, see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=237597.0

OP,
Wouldn't have surprised me if you were serious. Also, selling accounts is allowed so my time is never used for stopping that.

Should miners collude to steal funds from wallet confiscated by US government?
are the any other situations where this is encouraged?
This is probably one of the dumbest ideas I've read on the forums. All this would do is cause the US government to turn against the bitcoin community.

The timeline in the post is wrong, the server image is from June 2013 not 2012. Also he's assuming the LE has control of the forums, doesn't state that they do.

Because we don't need another thread on this topic... I'm locking this one.
|
|

why? The US GOVT now owns more bitcoin then most of this forum put together.
LOL NOPE! They seized a few million dollars worth of bitcoins, you don't think people here have more than that? EDIT: Changed the wording

Mods are adding a warning to your original post and locking it because you're trying to stir up fear.

He's probably going to be a very hard guy to reach, got any solid proof for what you say? I'm sure you'll need it at some point.

If I trust a trustee a problem can arise where the trustee in turn trusts another trustee whose trust list is .... bad.
What about setting your Trust Depth to 1. My understanding is that this will limit it to the people you trust only and not include their trust list. I could be wrong though? That's correct, but greyhawk was trying to find a way that didn't involve doing that then manually adding a lot of people.
|
|
|
Hmmm, a shame. Guess I'll better get to rebuilding my list.
Mind posting it after you're done, or PMing? I'd be interested to see, mine could use some rebuilding as well.
|
|
|
The question now is how to remove the flawed input from the trust list? Is there a function to specifically exclude problematic lower level trustees or is the only way by removing sub level trust entirely and manually re-adding sub-level trustees to the first tier?
You'll have to go with the latter option. I haven't seen anything about specifically excluding lower level trustees, so I'm assuming the system isn't setup to handle that currently.

gotpetum brought up a good point a few posts back that I think most people are ignoring: On feedback pages, you can leave trade feedback. There are no rules for this, but here are some guidelines: - List all of the trades that you do with people (or at least the major ones). This is not like #bitcoin-otc where you give people just one score. - Do not rate people based on the quality of their posts. - Older ratings count for more, so don't delete old ratings if you can avoid it. - "Risked BTC" is how much money you could have lost if the person you're rating had turned out to be a scammer. Or, if they are a scammer, it's how much you lost. Use the BTC value at the time of reporting. - It's OK to post a rating about the person in general, not tied to a specific trade. - If you want to make a rating stronger, increase "Risked BTC". 50 extra risked BTC is equivalent to an additional rating.
This quote is taken from the original Marketplace trust thread started by theymos. Note the giant underlined bolded words.

Salty sums this up well, I agree with him. OP looks to be completely in the wrong here, TF in the right.in this particular case maybe.... I'm only talking about this specific situation, if you're implying that I said TF is always right then you are wrong. this is unfair you are backing up tradefortress when he has provided 0 evidence that any coins were taken
I have started multiple scammer tag requests on here with evidence and you guys couldn't give a dam about it This one is getting a lot of attention because it's in Meta not Scam Accusations.
