If you're looking to buy bitcoins check out localbitcoins.com (can buy with cash deposits, sometimes even paypal) and coinbase.com (buying using your bank account)

I feel for you...
Isn't it better with signatures hidden? Maybe you totally disabled them though.

Yup, I'm loving the hiding sigs option!

I'd be curious to see which sigs are blocked the most after a week or two of it being in place.
523  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC Robot on: September 17, 2013, 09:55:57 PM
I know the robot bases the value in $, but most people here are probably more interested in BTC.

Just stating facts... In one month of letting 2 coins sit with the robot I went down to 1.965BTC and $1, so I lost money.  I want other people here to know that the robot isn't specifically going to grow your BTC.

Look at my trust score every transaction as been for paypal ( couple money pak). It can be done but is not easy and does involve risk.

Your trust score is 0 for me.

I'm guessing it's mostly FUD and/or people trying to get free BTC donations.

My review, tl;dr it's not a good way to grow bitcoin

So you actually PAID those guys to have this report out.... sigh.. Anyway nice for not getting another guy in this dump... thanks tysat

Haha I guess I did 'pay' to learn about this.  They seem like guys with good intentions, but it was just done wrong.  I'm guessing most people here are looking to grow BTC not $ value.

I want this. People who have it, should I get it?

If you're looking to gain BTC I would advise against it, see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=295972

That graph looks pretty good, but the story is a little different...

Full disclosure, I was given a free BTC robot license by the owners.  I had PMed them because everything looked sketchy, so I told them I'd try it out to see if it was legit.  I figured it wasn't legit and they wouldn't take me up on my offer, but they did.  It does seem to be a legit company, but I'm just not a fan of how things are done.

They are really only looking at profit in terms of USD, and that graph makes it look like I gained a fair amount.  Over the course of a month I actually lost BTC.  I started with 2 BTC a month ago and when I withdrew the other day it was 1.965 and about $1 in the btc-e account.  If you're looking to grow the amount of BTC you have I would suggest not using this.

Please let me know if there are any questions.

Beware
Don't go to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=39.0 or your signature ignore list will get fat

Sadly some of us have to view that subforum....

Actually they can't do a charge back on virtual items just on tangible items

People can definitely still charge back virtual items, otherwise selling BTC for PayPal wouldn't be an issue.
533  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Selling And Bitcoins With PayPal on: September 17, 2013, 12:36:05 PM
What do you do if someone does a chargeback?  You'd have nothing to show for it and they'd win.

Who gets this reports? The mod of the corresponding forum or the poor admin?

Anyone who has access to moderate that section will see the report.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not yet....

It'd be cool if we could write notes for users (personal only) that way you can remember things about people.  Possible to do this and store it server side?
536  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hi all Newbie here. on: September 16, 2013, 06:26:04 PM
I'm pretty sure block erupters aren't worth it anymore either.  I'd suggest reading more before diving in.

I think the days of making money from small time mining are over.
537  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hi all Newbie here. on: September 16, 2013, 05:51:04 PM
Assuming you pay for electricity, you won't be earning with any of those devices.  Despite what you may thing, Bitcoin isn't a way to get rich quick.
538  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: January 2014 prediction and requirements on: September 16, 2013, 04:37:25 PM
Everything I've read points towards mining not being worth it anymore.  If you feel like BTC will keep going up relative to $, then you might just want to buy some BTC.
539  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hi all Newbie here. on: September 16, 2013, 04:26:16 PM
Don't bother mining with your current hardware, you won't generate even close to the electricity cost of running it.
540  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When i will reach 1 BTC when i am having white hairs!! on: September 16, 2013, 04:17:21 PM
Reaching 1btc is too hard for newbies!!

Not really, all it takes is about $126
