41  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust bitcoin holders? on: May 11, 2024, 09:22:19 AM
Bitcoin holders are some of the most patient, trustworthy people on the planet. Anybody who can hold their money in an asset that drops 70% & not flinch deserves the upmost respect. We are a rare breed of strong handed investors, nerves of steel. Bitcoin holders can be trusted more than most people.
42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will cryptocurrencies see a new wave after Trump's election? on: May 11, 2024, 08:55:14 AM
Trump’s been seen as cryptocurrency friendly in recent interviews & videos posted online but it’s probably just a ploy to get votes from cryptocurrency users who might have otherwise voted for Biden. During election year, candidates will pimp themselves out to all sorts of groups of people to gain votes. I think a Republican government under Trump will be more crypto friendly than the Dems have been with Biden but let’s be real, Trump’s only motivation now is to win the election.
43  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you advise a friend in the same way? on: May 11, 2024, 08:38:26 AM
Nobody who bought Bitcoin & was able to HODL for 6+ years has ever lost money. Leaving money in the bank doing nothing is just a guaranteed way to lose purchasing power. So to answer the question it is definitely good advice for the guy to buy Bitcoin with money in the business bank account but he must be willing to hodl & not panic sell during market down turns.
44  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin Price is Down Today? on: May 11, 2024, 08:16:14 AM
There isn’t always a special reason why the Bitcoin goes up or down, if it’s only a small change (relative to Bitcoin). It’s just that more people are selling or shorting than buying or longing. When the price changes dramatically it can be because of significant FUD or bullish news. A 0.1% to 10% change in price over a short term period is just regular market behaviour, it is nothing to analyse.
45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you start investing in bitcoin because of some celebrity ? on: May 11, 2024, 08:10:10 AM
I did not start investing in Bitcoin because of some celebrity no. If anything, I probably wouldn’t have started investing if I’d first heard of Bitcoin via some celebrity. I understand the power of social media & the younger generation today idolises famous people so I assume public figures shilling Bitcoin could attract young people to buy Bitcoin. I have my own mind though.
46  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The war in Ukraine has been going on for the third year on: May 11, 2024, 07:38:43 AM
I have no doubt that the war in Ukraine is genuine. Russia is a relentless invader & they don’t look like slowing down any time soon. I do believe that other, more powerful nations (cough, cough) have motivation for this war to  continue due to self interests. For that reason it’s hard to see the war ending any time soon.
47  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I don't know how to survive in nuclear winter on: May 11, 2024, 07:29:16 AM
To increase your chances of survival during a possible nuclear war stay informed & follow official instructions. Prepare an emergency kit with essential supplies, find suitable shelter in a basement or sturdy building & minimise exposure to radioactive fallout by closing windows & doors. Stay connected to receive updates & guidance from authorities. Being prepared & staying informed are key to maximising your survival prospects in such a scenario.
48  Economy / Economics / Re: Feeling McTroubled? on: May 11, 2024, 07:11:42 AM
Inflation has been running wild for as long as I can remember. The government never tells you the true cost of inflation, they omit certain things from inflation data to make it not seem as shocking to the people. We don’t need any specialised metric to remind us in great detail how inflation is destroying our purchasing power. We all have less money in our pocket at the end of the month, wages are not keeping pace with inflation. I don’t see what the end game is, this can not continue.
49  Economy / Economics / Re: Open your eyes stop talking about usa lose power on: May 11, 2024, 07:03:48 AM
It’s very hard to predict if we’ll see complete de-dollarisation in our lifetime. There are several factors that suggest a gradual shift away from the dominance of the US dollar as a global reserve currency. These factors include the rise of alternative currencies like the Chinese yuan and the Euro, efforts by countries to reduce their dependence on the US dollar & geopolitical shifts. Complete de-dollarisation may not happen in the near future but it’s possible that we will witness a more diversified global monetary system in the coming decades.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Selling BTC for Alt Coins? on: May 10, 2024, 04:05:22 PM
I wouldn’t advise it, lots of people have ended up totally REKT doing this. It’s fine to have an altcoin allocation in your portfolio but don’t do it at the expense of your Bitcoin holdings. Bitcoin is trusted, has a verifiable long history of success, you can lose everything in altcoins. A small % is fine but don’t throw your Bitcoin into pinning the tail on the donkey.
51  Economy / Economics / Re: M2 money supply turns positive on: May 08, 2024, 04:56:31 PM
The Fed has restarted printing money

More money and inflation are what the price may need now to rise strongly.
Will this have an impact on Bitcoin?

Most likely it will have a positive impact on the Bitcoin price but it always takes a while for these things to filter down & have an effect on markets. We are in a bull market already, admittedly early bull phase but this will add fuel to an already simmering fire.

52  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Stormy Daniels Blows It on the Witness Stand, Makes Scripted Jokes in Courtroom on: May 08, 2024, 04:45:44 PM
This whole ordeal stank from the start. I actually think all this court drama & litigation is going to end up working in Trump’s favour. He’s going to look like the under-dog, somebody who has been picked on, vilified & bullied but rises to beat it all & win the Presidency.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what things can do if i hodle for long time crypto on: May 08, 2024, 04:42:19 PM
Just like with any investment & not just crypto, it’s not good to panic if the price dips because that’s when you make irrational decisions & might panic sell. In market downturns, it’s actually the best time to buy providing it’s a good coin. HODLING for a long time has proven to be a very good strategy & I assume will continue to be.
54  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US senators warn on Iran Bitcoin mining industry on: May 08, 2024, 01:08:56 PM
Pochohontas really doesn’t give up does she. I think she must have dementia onset or some kind of ailment. The obsession is not healthy, I saw a statistic somewhere that out of like 500 bills she’s attempted to get written into law, literally 1 has been passed. She’s a totally irrelevant member of congress, nobody cares what she says or does.
55  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Canada’s Orwellian new law proposal to jail for hate speech on: May 08, 2024, 12:36:51 PM
It’s ridiculous, literally a communist nation move. Canada has fallen under the stewardship of Trudeau. He was running a totalitarian state during COVID-19 & he’s continued to get worse. How long does he have left as leader? Hopefully he is voted out in the next election, surely not many will vote to live under his North Korea style leadership.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are your holdings ready for this altcoinseason? on: May 08, 2024, 08:47:55 AM
Nobody knows for certain what will happen in the market, you’ll get different answers from everybody, some reflecting bias of coins that have an allocation to. It’s safe to assume Bitcoin & Ethereum will return solid profits in the upcoming bull run but if you’re looking for much bigger returns then there is a much bigger risk by investing in less established coins.
57  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you feel that the global economy is declining? on: May 07, 2024, 10:10:50 AM
The global economy is currently facing challenges & uncertainties which have led to a slowdown in growth rates. The situation differs across countries & sectors. Trade tensions, geopolitical issues & the COVID-19 pandemic have contributed to economic fluctuations. While some countries may be experiencing a decline others may be showing signs of recovery. The global economy is facing headwinds but the extent of decline varies & is subject to ongoing developments & policy responses.
58  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Waste of resources at parents disrupting their children dreams for self interest on: May 07, 2024, 09:21:05 AM
She should follow her dreams & utilise her skills. Her parents aren’t her boss, there are so many people who go to university & do a degree that doesn’t give them any real expertise, they don’t stand out from the crowd so they end up becoming a teacher or something mediocre. If she has a real passion for what she does she should ignore her parents advice & follow her dreams.
59  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Arizona moves to repel abortion ban but Trump could make it US wide on: May 07, 2024, 08:49:35 AM
I really don’t understand the obsession with abortion ban in the US. There are many situations where abortion could be beneficial for the Mother carrying the child. It’s such a sensitive subject but what about if the child is conceived via a sexual assault or if the Mother is mentally unstable or to poor to bring up a child. I certainly think there should be a limit on age of gestation permitted to be aborted. You can’t allow near full term abortions but before the unborn child really resembles a human being I think, only if it’s beneficial to the Mother, then she should be able to make her own decision.
60  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What were you told about the slave trade. on: May 07, 2024, 07:52:48 AM
The slave trade caused immense pain & suffering to millions of people. It contributed to economic growth in certain regions but this growth was built on the oppression & exploitation of enslaved people. Recognising the historical impact of the slave trade allows us to acknowledge the catastrophic turmoil, pain & suffering it caused & work towards a more fair & inclusive world.
