1021  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Impact of COVID-19 on the Global Economy and the Role of Cryptocurrencies as on: April 27, 2023, 04:21:07 PM
I believe that corona virus & all the restrictions that were put on the world definitely negatively impacted the price.  We were due to go a lot higher than 69k per coin imo but the desperation & uncertainty due to corona virus watered down the bull run. I think we will make up for lost time & go much higher in the next bull cycle (2024 & 2025).

Crypto but bitcoin specifically is a great investment. Buying now is a great idea, you will make 5 or 6 x your money if you were to sell at the highs in 2025. Look to hold long term though because you will make ROI that is near impossible in other assets.
1022  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: OpenSea investor cuts Platform’s Valuation By 75% on: April 27, 2023, 03:49:29 PM
Unfortunately for NFT investors I think they are just a fad. The ICO craze of the 2017 bull run fizzled out, lots of investors lost a lot of money. I see the same situation with NFT’s, I mean really they are crap aren’t they. You ‘own’ a JPG on the blockchain, imo the biggest load of nonsense so far in crypto. People were wash trading against themselves, artificially inflating the price of NFT’s, hoping some rich gullible guys would pay stupid money for them.

I think it’s over for NFT investors, they have peaked & will never again see the highs of 2021. Maybe there will be dead cat bounces here & there but imo the NFT craze is over. It will be something else in the next bull run. Never get married emotionally to investments. If you see a way to get in & out making lots of money then do it. Don’t expect NFT’s to get another crazy run up though.
1023  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal Vs Bitcoin: Who is the Big Guy? on: April 27, 2023, 11:02:05 AM
Paypal to me is dated tech, I dunno how to convey exactly what I mean but it just feels like AOL internet to me. I think it’s peaked & will soon be surplus.

The fees on Paypal are insane, all the verification & ID docs required once you hit a certain limit on there are ridiculous.

There are far better ways to send money before you even get to bitcoin but once you do you’ll never use Paypal again if you can help it. Bitcoin bests Paypal in all ways.
1024  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Apple removes Bitcoin Whitepaper in the latest beta version of macOS!! on: April 26, 2023, 06:02:43 PM
Tim Cook literally is on record personally saying he owns bitcoin. The Whitepaper on all Macs was probably uploaded by a rogue employee, a bitcoin maxi doing a mild troll. I wouldn’t put it past Apple coming out & publicly saying they have bitcoin on their balance sheet in the next few years. It’s kinda unprofessional to have the Whitepaper on there though so I understand why it was removed.
1025  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC treasure hunt on: April 25, 2023, 09:01:14 PM
BTCBTCBTC
There is an ongoing treasure hunt for 20 BTC which I have been trying for some weeks now. I haven't seen any mention of it in this forum. There is a hidden private key in an article written by Max Keiser in Bitcoin Magazine (Salvador Issue), at least that's what he says. Has anyone been trying to solve this thing? Would anybody like to join up and try to crack it?!

I saw it advertised somewhere, I’m not even sure if I believe it. Whilst I respect Max Keiser as an uber early adopter & obviously super rich guy, he’s a bit of a grifter. He likes the sound of his own voice, he’s been saying $220,000 is in play for the last 3 or 4 years, he talks crap.

I dunno if this is just a publicity stunt. A bit like his theatre with the El Salvador President.
1026  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Maybe I should wait before owning my bitcoin on: April 25, 2023, 08:41:31 PM
None of those sentiment tables or charts really matter if you’re serious about bitcoin & motivated to hold for many years & keep adding to your stash. Bitcoin is the best innovation of our lifetime, it’s more risky to sit on the sidelines & not buy any.

If your time preference is long term then there is no risk to buying now. It’s extremely likely that bitcoin will continue to rise in price as time goes on.
1027  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does Bitcoiner still support the use of centralized exchanges? on: April 25, 2023, 08:13:20 PM
Some people are lazy, some are complacent, some aren’t very tech savvy & don’t trust themselves to self custody, maybe they don’t even know how to.

I think whilst bitcoin has been around since 2009, it’s still a relatively new tech. People just aren’t very educated on it. It’s sad but sometimes people get burnt when they play with fire.
1028  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC vs physical gold price potential on: April 25, 2023, 08:01:59 PM
The potential of bitcoin is so much higher than gold. The price of gold doesn’t go up anywhere near as much as bitcoin. Gold is useless as a means of payment, you can’t transport large amounts across borders without certification & proofs.

Bitcoin is the future, gold is the past.
1029  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will April be a red month? on: April 25, 2023, 07:36:50 PM
It hasn’t been a good month so far for bitcoin but it’s nothing to worry about. We still have time to turn tge monthly green but even if it is a red candle it has no significance. We are in a tight range with no decision made either way as to if we will break up or down.

Proceed with caution, no leverage trading, DCA only.
1030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is $30 dollars worth starting bitcoin? on: April 24, 2023, 09:02:11 PM
$30 isn’t going to make him rich, investing in bitcoin. It’s 2023 now, not 2010.

Investing $30 in bitcoin is better than leaving $30 in his fiat bank savings account with 1% interest or whatever crap rates they offer these days.

$30 is a very small amount but it’s a start I guess. Tell him to dollar cost average into bitcoin every month he gets paid, it’ll soon build up.
1031  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: About shit coins on: April 24, 2023, 08:52:49 PM
Many people say everything that isn’t bitcoin is a shitcoin. I understand the thought process but some altcoins are good. Ethereum for example is a great investment, it has a long history & can be classed as trustworthy.

The problem I have with lesser known altcoins & what may hint at the shitcoin branding is the fact that there is centralisation. I don’t like too much of the supply being held by a few people.

Lots of money can be made in so called shitcoins but unlike with bitcoin, I would want to get in & get out with fast profits. I wouldn’t hold anything except bitcoin & ethereum long term.
1032  Economy / Economics / Re: Concers About Going in Business with a Friend on: April 24, 2023, 08:24:45 PM
It’s difficult to mix business with pleasure aka business with friends & family. It can work but you have to lay ground rules.

Are you both going to invest the same amount of money at start up?
Who is going to make final decisions?
Can you both solve problems?
What happens if you disagree on something important?

It can work but you are going to need to separate business & friendship in the workplace.
1033  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth staking stablecoins? on: April 24, 2023, 08:13:24 PM
I don’t think it’s worth staking anything, it’s just too risky. Look at what happened only recently, various platforms that allowed staking went bankrupt & with that went users funds. I just don’t think a 5 - 10 percent staking reward is anywhere even close to a good enough reward for risking your money, leaving it in control of another party. Just don’t do it please.
1034  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Five best nuts that works for anti- aging on: April 24, 2023, 08:05:01 PM
Nuts are great for your heart health.

Nuts are a good source of protein. Most nuts also contain at least some of these heart-healthy substances:

Unsaturated fats. It's not entirely clear why, but it's thought that the "good" fats in nuts — both monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats — lower bad cholesterol levels.

Omega-3 fatty acids. Many nuts are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3s are healthy fatty acids. They may reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes.

Fiber. All nuts contain fiber, which helps lower cholesterol. Fiber also makes you feel full, so you eat less.

Plant sterols. Some nuts contain plant sterols, a substance that can help lower cholesterol. Plant sterols are often added to products such as margarine and orange juice for additional health benefits, but sterols occur naturally in nuts.

L-arginine. Nuts are also a source of L-arginine. Some research suggests that L-arginine may lower blood pressure, improve cholesterol and improve overall blood vessel health.

Most nuts appear to be generally healthy. But some may have more heart-healthy nutrients than others. For example, walnuts contain high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids.

Almonds, macadamia nuts, hazelnuts and pecans also appear to be quite heart healthy. So are peanuts — though they are technically not a nut, but a legume, like beans.

It's best to choose unsalted or unsweetened nuts. Adding salt or sugar to nuts may cancel out their heart-healthy benefits.

1035  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Inflation may have driven me to this, bitcoin has the power to reverse it on: April 24, 2023, 07:41:07 PM
Not so late for any newbie like me also, face inflation with bitcoin but be smart with it.

It’s never too late to buy bitcoin, you are still earlier than the majority of the world population. It’s never a bad time to buy bitcoin & preserve your wealth. One thing is certain, keeping your money in $ leads to annual theft by your government under the dark cloak of inflation.

Buy bitcoin & hold for many years to easily defeat inflation.
1036  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Wishing happy and Blessing Eid Mubarak on: April 24, 2023, 07:09:49 PM
Hope you all had a good Eid my brothers, As-salamu alaykum. It is a time to celebrate with friends & family after a long fasting period. We are all so strong as we follow the Quran.

Alhamdulillah.
1037  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Ethereum Staking Platform on: April 24, 2023, 06:39:48 PM
Just be careful staking, I know you probably are well aware of the risks but to leave your coins in control of somebody else. In my opinion the amount you can earn from staking isn’t enough to risk handing your coins over to the control of another entity. Too many horror stories over the years but I hope things work out well for you.
1038  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What things do you study while choosing a wallet? on: April 24, 2023, 06:17:23 PM
Self custody where you are the only person with access to the private keys. That is the only thing that really matters to me, it doesn’t even have to be cold storage if you’re careful. A device that isn’t connected to the internet for anything other than crypto is good. Common sense & a level of intelligence is always important. The worst thing you can do is store your coins on third party wallets & exchanges.
1039  Economy / Economics / Re: Argentina Central Bank Running Out of US Dollars. Bitcoin as a Solution? on: April 23, 2023, 02:35:46 PM
Argentina are in big trouble, bitcoin would be the perfect solution but I just don't see their elected officials being open minded enough to adopt bitcoin as their official currency.

Unemployment is high in Argentina, it’s a population that needs a serious economic recovery. I just don’t see how they can recover without something like bitcoin. Less rich countries will be forced into bitcoin eventually, look at El Salvador, they are thriving.
1040  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Recommend me altcoin to DCA till halving on: April 23, 2023, 02:00:29 PM
Just be aware that lots of people shilling you an altcoin’s here are doing it because they own the coin. There will be a level of bias from most people who recommend you coins or tokens to buy.

Make sure you do your own research, extensive research if possible before you start buying any type of altcoin. There is big money to be made in alts, if you do your research & get lucky you can make life changing money.
