201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's last big rally in this cycle on: March 03, 2024, 12:22:35 PM
We’ve never reached a new ATH before the block reward halving. It’d be a first & totally unprecedented if it does happen this cycle but if it doesn’t we obviously don’t need to panic. There are so many positive things happening this time, we could see Bitcoin reach heights that seem like a dream to us now. The amount of capital now unlocked to potentially flow to Bitcoin due to the etf approvals is astronomical. If even 0.5% of the average 401k & pension plans goes to Bitcoin Spot ETFs we will see the price soar. Expect to see Bitcoin in multiple six figures per coin in 2025.
202  Economy / Speculation / Re: We are still early in this bull run. Retails have yet come back massively! on: March 03, 2024, 12:17:24 PM
We’re not in the peak bull period until Grandma & Uncle Bob start calling & asking how to buy Bitcoin. All jokes aside we’re not even at the halving yet, the peak bull run won’t be until next year. The bull has some way to run yet so sit in & get ready to watch the greatest show on earth. We have Spot ETF demand now, the run to Bitcoin will be like nothing we’ve ever seen.
203  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do you want slave? on: March 03, 2024, 11:48:45 AM
Modern slavery is different to being a 9am to 5pm worker. Some people use it as an insult towards salaried 9am to 5pm workers but the reality is most of us are in that position. A modern slave is far worse than a regular salaried worker. I feel sad for anybody that is involved in modern slavery. It is rare these days though, we do not have a slave trade in First World countries in the 21st century.
204  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving don't make wealth on: March 03, 2024, 11:01:39 AM
Saving fiat in regular checking accounts will never build wealth. It’s difficult to find a savings account that even matches inflation. The way to build wealth is to invest in real estate, stocks, cryptocurrency. Nobody gets rich simply saving. You have to invest in assets that increase in value over time. If you’re not even beating inflation then you are unknowingly getting poorer.
205  Economy / Economics / Re: Reckless financial decision ? on: March 03, 2024, 09:50:58 AM
It’s a reckless financial decision for some people to turn down that kind of money but if the celebrity in question is wealthy & can afford to not take that role then whatever. If he sticks to his principles & smoking weed means that much to him that he doesn’t want to take the role then it’s fine.
206  Economy / Economics / Re: What is The Negative Effect of Inflation on Household Savings? on: March 01, 2024, 01:09:38 PM
The negative effect of inflation on household savings is that it erodes the purchasing power of money over time. When inflation rises the value of money decreases meaning that the same amount of money can buy less goods & services. This reduction in purchasing power reduces the real value of savings making it harder for households to maintain their standard of living & achieve their long term financial goals. Inflation can also discourage saving as people might need to spend their money quickly before its value further diminishes. Inflation erodes the stability and growth of household savings. I think it was Michael Saylor who said over time your fiat is like a big block of ice in warm conditions, it slowly melts away.
207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People are selling now, what are you keeping for later and which are you selling on: March 01, 2024, 12:27:26 PM
I’m selling nothing now, the price of most coins are going up right now but it’s still really early in the bull market. Only sell now if you really need the money. We are only early on in the bull market. Traditionally we hit the cycle top a year after the halving so plenty of time for upside yet. The year for you to start selling is 2025 if you’re aboe to HODL for a while longer.
208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: On a scale of 1-10, how confident are you in your holdings? on: March 01, 2024, 12:24:14 PM
My confidence is very high that I will do very well out of the upcoming bull run. The tried & tested method of buy low & sell high never fails. We’ve ridden a bear market & now we transition into the early bull market. I will sell some in 2025, Bitcoin & most altcoins will rise dramatically in the next 18 months.
209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gary Gensler: "Bitcoin is not that decentralized" on: March 01, 2024, 09:44:47 AM
Gensler is just upset & embarrassed that he had to approve to spot etfs, basically either approve or get sued. He must be in either politicians or bankers pockets because he is well versed on Bitcoin after teaching classes at MIT years ago. The good thing is we don’t have to care what he thinks any more.
210  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is really the future of Nigeria on: February 29, 2024, 10:22:36 PM
Nigeria faces big challenges in political & government stability. They have a problem with their devaluing currency but there is potential for growth & progress. Nigeria has a huge population, rich natural resources & a thriving entrepreneurial spirit. With improved leadership, reforms & investment in key sectors like infrastructure, education & diversification of the economy Nigeria can overcome its obstacles & unlock their true potential. The future of Nigeria depends on the efforts of its government, citizens & international partnerships to help address these challenges & create a stable & prosperous future.
211  Economy / Economics / Re: Is fossil fuels REALLY running out quickly, or do we still have time? on: February 28, 2024, 12:57:00 PM
My personal opinion on whether fossil fuels are running out or if it is exaggerated by governments & campaigners is that it is exaggerated. Fossil fuel reserves are finite & will eventually be depleted but the rate at which this occurs is influenced by various things. The environmental impact of fossil fuels & the need to transition to cleaner energy sources is quite important. The overall consensus is that diversifying our energy mix & reducing reliance on fossil fuels is crucial for a sustainable future but I do think that the whole ESG & green movement do exaggerate & FUD about fossil fuels.
212  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USAF airman Aaron Bushnell set himself on fire protesting US backed genocide on: February 28, 2024, 12:37:44 PM
I think there are better ways to protest than this. Poor guy, what the hell was he thinking. I just Googled to see if he survived this ordeal & sadly he didn’t (Source: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-68405119.amp).
Now I feel worse for reading it, hr could have done so many other things to protest instead of this, poor guy, may he rest in peace.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Price Rally Ahead: Tom Lee's Visionary Prediction Foresees $150,000 on: February 28, 2024, 12:21:56 PM
$150,000 is definitely possible, one might even say it’s moderately bearish. With all the potential capital now unlocked through the Bitcoin spot etfs we have real potential for a super cycle. It’s a really exciting time to be invested in Bitcoin & crypto in general.
214  Economy / Economics / Re: Beginner questions on: February 28, 2024, 09:24:57 AM
Hello!

I´ve been interested in trading crypto for quite some time now and finally joined eToro.

I just have a question, I noticed Bitcoin have been doing really good the last 6 months and I now want to invest a very small sum of 250 dollars.

I just wonder, since im completely new to the stock exchange, If I invest 250 dollars, can I loose them if the price goes down? Or do I still hold my share.

Maybe this sounds dumb, but does Bitcoin work the same as a normal share? If I invest in a real stock I probably get to keep my share even if the value is zero?

Does it work the same with Bitcoin shares as well?

Best Regards

1 Bitcoin = 1 Bitcoin so in your situation, your fraction of a Bitcoin will stay the same unless you spend or sell it. The dollar price of your holding can change, Bitcoin is very volatile although as time goes on the volatility is expected to be less so. Bitcoin is an inflation slayer so your $250 is very good to be left in Bitcoin if you can stomach volatility. Over time you will definitely be in profit.
215  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What are the challenges of developed nations nation? on: February 27, 2024, 07:34:33 PM
Developed nations face a range of challenges despite their advanced status. Economic inequality persists with disparities in income & wealth distribution. Environmental concerns like climate change & pollution cause significant threats. Aging populations & declining birth rates impact healthcare & pension systems. Technological advancements lead to job losses & the need for continuous upskilling. Social issues like discrimination, mental health & even access to education & healthcare also persist. Maintaining political stability, addressing corruption & managing international relations are ongoing challenges for developed nations.
216  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Unable to proceed in life atm, getting betatized... on: February 27, 2024, 07:12:39 PM
Hi OP, if you're feeling depressed it's important to reach out for help. Try to confide in someone you trust like a friend, family member or even a therapist. They could offer support & guide you to professional help if needed. Remember to prioritise self care by taking part in activities you enjoy, get enough sleep, eat well & exercise regularly. Practice mindfulness & cultivate a positive mindset through meditation or journaling. Surround yourself with positive influences & seek out uplifting content. Remember that you're not alone & there are resources available to help you through this difficult time.
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the reason behind surge in price of verge ? on: February 27, 2024, 07:00:51 PM
It’s gone from $0.003689 on February 21st to $0.006724 currently. It actually wicked to $0.008504 (all according to Coinmarketcap). I don’t know if there’s a reason why it’s pumping but this is cryptocurrency. These kind of wild swings are not uncommon in a bull market. We will see a lot more of this across the industry over the next year or two:
218  Other / Off-topic / Re: Everything you need is within you on: February 27, 2024, 06:54:46 PM
We all have a reservoir of untapped potential & resources within us. Everything we need to navigate lifes challenges & find fulfilment is already present within us. Our strengths, talents, wisdom & resilience are waiting to be discovered & harnessed. By tapping into our inner resources & trusting in ourselves we can overcome obstacles, achieve our goals & create a meaningful life. With self reflection, self belief & self care we can unlock the power within & realise that we are truly capable of achieving greatness.
219  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin on the Big Mac Index on: February 27, 2024, 03:13:33 PM
Perfect illustration of how Bitcoin purchasing power increases over a sustained period & fiat is being massacred by inflation. At this point, with what we know about Bitcoin if is incompetence to not have some kind of exposure in a balanced portfolio.
220  Economy / Economics / Re: Recession soon? on: February 27, 2024, 03:05:48 PM
Economic uncertainty looms in 2024 with global chief economists divided in their outlook. Some anticipate a weakening global economy but others foresee a steadying or improving economic landscape. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) predict a slight decline in global growth this year with emerging markets driving much of the growth. Geopolitical tensions and geoeconomic fragmentation are expected to accelerate potentially impacting stock markets and economies worldwide. In the UK experts warn that the country likely slipped into recession at the end of 2023.
