41  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: To all crypto investment noobs on: May 13, 2021, 09:58:43 PM
This is a quick warning that have been said many times already but we keep getting newbies on the forum everyday now so let your first aim in crypto investment be getting back your ROI safe and sound before taking any further risks, stop deceiving yourself that this bull season isn't going to end because everything has a ending, take profits and take profits again or live to tell the bad tale later

You cannot really blame newbies if they don't know anything with crypto and be feared of missing out due to tons of online influencers and social media posts saying that crypto is the new way to earn huge money. I've also seen a lot of posts in social media platforms and articles that mostly promotes people to try crypto with their earnings being indicated without really educating them with the risks involved in it. Hence, newbies will still come and invest money without doing their own research and it is a common thing since 2017 crypto bull run. I mean even I myself tried the same yet that is I guess would really be part of all crypto investors. Knowledge earned because you lose is still a lessoned learned right?
42  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Road to Hero! A challenge to self, and challenge to yours! on: May 13, 2021, 09:39:12 PM
I wish you good luck with your journey but I don't agree with the road to journey should be about `push yourself onto the limits and achieve the higher rank.` that is achieving the higher rank. You will never be able to learn or contribute constructively to those goals. You will be spending a fair good amount of time here so why not use it more productively that is actually learn the technology and explore more? Simply writing posts for ranking up is a waste of your time I believe. I tell you, if you actually enjoy the technology and love learning stuff around, your journey will be more enjoyable.

I guess you didn't read that I firmly said "By posting some ideas soon that would help the community.". Sometimes, achieving higher rank can really be a motivation to someone and everything depends on the mindset and discipline of the user. Despite of being active and posting so many things in the forum, what I intend to let others know is it wouldn't matter if it wouldn't be really contributing to a certain topic or for the community. Hence, why not try and grind yourself to learn things and share it to this community? That's what I am and hopefully I can achieve. But nonetheless, thank you!
43  Other / Beginners & Help / Road to Hero! A challenge to self, and challenge to yours! on: May 13, 2021, 09:24:02 PM
You might be wondering why am I posting this but I'm not yet a hero and this isn't really my journey. Then let me tell you why.

I've already seen a lot of motivational posts from users in here that they either got promoted from newbie to Member or Member to full member and so on. But I guess I never seen one with someone getting close to what he wants to achieve. It is really motivating to see someone ranking up but we never see ourselves be challenged an motivated with the next rank we can achieve.

Now I'm posting this as a challenge to myself that within two weeks I will be a hero member after years of working hard for this to come. I am currently 78 merits away and I challenge myself to fulfill it within the time frame. How? By posting some ideas soon that would help the community. I also aims to be more active after all inactivity due to being busy on both working and being a college student.

Then, I challenge all of those who are a hundred near activity and merit close to ranking up, or just anyone, to push yourself onto the limits and achieve the higher rank. We all can do what those others who posted their journey can. Some of us, like me, personally had some hard times finding motivations to pursue further in this community, yet we only need to challenge ourselves. If you are at any rank and you are close to being ranked up, challenge yourself. What should I do to achieve it? If you have unmerited posts feel free to lend us your unmerited posts. I currently hold 51 sMerits and I really saved this for this moment to see other users grind to the top and willing to give it for each and every fruitful and notable post for the community. Any rank you are, feel free to join me with the challenge to myself and a challenge to yours!

If you plan to participate in this two week journey grind and earned enough merits to be ranked up (regardless of how far your activity is), then be back after two weeks with your progress and story. Goodluck to us! Let's make every post and time count!
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What'sa good alternative for USDT? (Searching for good stablecoins) on: May 13, 2021, 09:05:00 PM
Hi,

after that Dogepump i have converted my DOGE to USDT, so i can buy more BTC when it dumps. But now i have heard negative things about USDT. What is a good alternative stablecoin for next time? There are so many and i don't know the difference of them (besides the name^^). Can someone guide me a little?

I would prefer and suggest to you that you should consider using BUSD. Why? Transferring it doesn't take too long and its fees are really cheap, IF AND ONLY IF you use Binance as your trading platform and/or the BSC network on your alt trades. AFAIK some exchangers that supports BUSD doesn't really have a pair of BUSD to other alts like DOGE and alts that you might consider buying. Lastly, BUSD can be used in pancakeswap and other BSC AMM platforms which is currently the trend as some projects like SafeMoon started in it so you might consider trying those tradings as well.
45  Other / Meta / Re: P&S moderator? on: May 13, 2021, 08:48:18 PM
If a new moderator was appointed to that section it would be nice if they were impartial or independent.  I'm not sure having a snowflake for a mod is the best thing for political discussions as it was quite obvious the section was being heavily moderated in favor of liberal views previously.  I never even cared about the politics section until I saw that TECSHARE was being unethically moderated and decided to stand up with him about it.  Anyway, no mod is better than a controversial mod in my opinion.  People are free to click the ignore button if they don't like someone's politics, but everyone's opinion should be allowed.

+1 to this. If ever that theymos would hire another mod for Politics and Society board, I can easily judge that user by his stands depending on the posts I reported and how he handled it with the reasons I've indicated on those reports, and that itself is purely a negative thought both on the moderator and his political and societal stands. Just like what you said, all posts in that section should be treated as a mere "opinion" and be respected unless it provokes any terms and actions that is prohibited in the forum. One other lowkey reason is that, P&S board isn't really counted in many signature campaigns and most moderators are onto boards that usually is counted to be a fruitful and valid board to the promotions.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Doge is to hold should not be trading on: May 13, 2021, 08:26:43 PM
I strongly believe Doge will be a sustainable incremental coin, with the help of Tesla. And I believe in the management of Elon Musk, the number 1 billionaire in the world. Do you guys agree with me that Doge is the world's largest community-owned coin. And the US and EU communities are very fond of Doge

NO. Strongly disagree with your statement that it will be sustainable. It wasn't even made with any fundamentals nor has any use-cases at all. I'm not an anti-Doge but i'm pro facts. Hype isn't a great support to a coin nor its growing community alone. The community can change their perspectives with just a single FUD and not all of the Doge community can handle those FUD nor this current dip. Elon himself is just meme-ing with the people and you can't know how can he profit from the community's hype. Largest community owned coin? I don't think so. But largest hype-owned meme coin fits it better.
47  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk Onion Address (Proposal) on: May 13, 2021, 08:06:14 PM

Does anyone know the cost or maintenance required to setting this up?

AFAIK if you use Tor's services it is free to create your .onion domain but you need to consider the costs of your own server which the forum already has and is being maintained. But as for a personal suggestion, this .org address is really enough as you can still use VPN when you log on plus .onion websites is just somehow the same as .org websites but only has encrypted connection to the server and cannot be accessed without using Tor and VPN services. Basically, if you are privacy conscious user, then strengthening your credentials is enough. It would be hassle I guess to the management of the forum to implement something that doesn't really answers any problem.
48  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mixers under the threat? on: May 13, 2021, 07:46:54 PM
~

I might be late in this thread but it is just a common idea that any government would prohibit companies and businesses that lets people be anonymous with their transactions. US government is only concerned that they cannot track people with huge profit from cryptocurrencies especially if they use tons of mixers for their holdings and transactions. Hence, if a country is developing laws and regulations with cryptocurrencies and its holders/users, then it is a clear no doubt that mixing can gain a little spotlight on the way.
49  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to create a bitcoin mixer on: May 13, 2021, 07:16:35 PM
I am a developer actually, i admin not knowing how to form my question, which is  i do not really understand the basis of how mixing can be implemented into the code, but i will check the sources you guys gave me.

You should consider studying blockchain and developing it first. Jumping to creating a project might lead you onto some troubles especially if you jumped onto developing a mixer without further considering how mixing and blockchain in general really works. AFAIK you can find developing it alone difficult if you have no real investments. Most mixers started with huge capital or contacted some miners to work with their platform (to gain newly mined coins and mix it with the input coins). Hence, you should consider creating your own team of crypto devs and enthusiasts as well.
50  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: DOGECOIN Thread (news, prediction, and speculation) on: May 13, 2021, 07:10:11 PM

Pumping what I've already said a week ago. Dogecoin currently at ~0.37USD from .6 the time I mentioned it will go down. With the current price action plus the BTC's bearish pattern in small time frames, tingin ko malaking chance na umabot nga ito back to 0.1USD and might form a cup or magcreate na ng tuluyang bearish divergence. This claims can still be invalid if and only if meron nanamang hype na maganap ngayon which possibly is malabo dahil nag FUD na si elon sa pag accept ng tesla ng BTC.

51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Need Help getting listed on BSC Scan, Coin Gecko, and CMC on: May 13, 2021, 06:25:24 PM
Are there any videos, google sheet examples, good APIs, etc. To help get listed in these three? BSC Scan has not updated my logo, so I feel like I’m doing something wrong, but I’m filling everything out. No one seems to message back you were rejected, and they don’t respond..

AFAIK there are certain criteria to get listed on coin gecko and CMC but listing on BSC scan isn't really bad as long as you have some smart contract developer whom knows how things works. If you are solo in your project then you are just aiming to create and make your ideas happen, then I guess you should spend time studying first than rushing your project to be listed without even considering tons of factors like audits and security.
52  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: XRP Hodlers on: May 12, 2021, 09:41:04 PM
Hello sa mga traders dyan! Smiley
Worth it ba ihold ang XRP for long term investment?

Kung ako man ang tatanungin you should still consider selling it at some point especially kung want mo pa na mas lumago pa ito. But then if ayaw mo naman talaga mastress and gusto mo lang may naimbak kang XRP, then I really prefer na istore mo nalang yang XRP mo sa Trustwallet para kahit papano may control ka sa private keys at seed phrases mo na pede mong istore sa paper wallet and gamitin soon if naisip mo nang balikan ito. Lastly pag want mo naman din magtrade trade, I think ADA is currently having a better chart than XRP and has a higher chance na magdouble ang price. NFA though  Cheesy
53  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: SHIBA INU Coin (The DOGECOIN KILLER) on: May 12, 2021, 09:15:35 PM
Guys may bago nanamang memecoin Grin

https://www.shibatoken.com

There are tons of dog-named coins and halos lahat nasa ETH network kaya kung more onto profit ka with long term goals then you should consider buying those na may low market cap palang.
54  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Convenient as Possible sa Pag-deposit ng Fiat to buy Crypto on: May 12, 2021, 08:50:04 PM
In terms of convenience talaga, walang tatalo pag local exchange like Coins.ph ang gagamitin(probably Coins Pro pero pag day trading ang pinag uusapan). Though I've heard na convenient rin naman daw magdeposit ng pera sa Binance pero di ko pa nasubukan so di ko pwedeng irecommend.

If ever na ilalagay nya yung pera niya from bank to coins.ph, then I would personally suggest na magbuy siya ng XRP (baka hindi 2k ang mabawas sa 20k kundin 200 lang) then isend niya sa Binance then isell agad yung XRP to either USDT or BUSD para hindi na magfluctuate at sumabay yung amount ng pera niya sa price action ng XRP. Why do I suggest this? AFAIK the transfer fee only ranges from 10-50 pesos depending sa bank if mag cacash in ka from Online Banking to Coins.PH and I see it to be the most convenient way possible kahit na mag Binance ka man or OKEX or KUCOIN as long as you use XRP makakamura ka ng transaction fees.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to tell when to dump an entire project/coin? Overall gain loss... on: May 12, 2021, 08:24:35 PM
~

Judging by your statements with regards to your investments, you seek more on to mid-long term investing yet seeks to look for your average daily loss of your portfolio. Hence, I would suggest that you should consider knowing what really drives you to spend your money on such tokens/projects/coins. If you seek for a real mid-long term because you know that the project has great fundamentals plus a developing system and increasing community, then you must avoid to look for your daily losses as it would only stress you out. If ever you seek for profit for coins in newly created meme/shitcoins. then Degen Investing (quick in and out) is a preferred way to do so. Still, you should know the background of a project and a coin first by reading its whitepaper before investing in it. With that, you must finally learn not to drive yourself with FUD and red markets. Lastly, invest only what you can afford to lose.
56  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: DO NOT USE PAPER WALLETS! bitaddress.org phishing scam on: May 12, 2021, 07:59:04 PM
I have noticed a few users suggesting to use paper wallet once someone from newbie ask about the wallet. But always I discourage to use paper wallet anyway. There was much reason why I discourage to use a paper wallet. And the most important reason already post by you. The phishing attempt is the main prevention of use paper wallets. Users would lose the funds at any time. Another is unaware of proper uses especially change address, saving seeds, encryption with passwords, and so on. Thanks for creating this thread. Hope others would get the correct reason why should avoid using a paper wallet.
You are recommending people to avoid using the most secure way of saving crypto? You have open source code, you can do everything by yourself. Why would you need to trust online website? The only thing is that you have to use the proper way and that's it. Your coin is safe. No other wallet can guarantee such security like Paper wallet.

I think coolcryptovator only wants newbies to avoid trusting paper wallet services from websites they aren't aware were only Phishing sites. Paper wallets are indeed the safest ones to store your credentials IF and only IF you would use pen and paper to store your public and private keys rather than using an online platform to create it for you. The only reason it should not be suggested is because people and newbies to be exact tends to search it on websites like google and use the websites shown in there without further searching on what is the most effective way. I've seen tons of users searched and used such phishing websites and it is really alarming hence making others discourage newbies to use it.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to earn in crypto in 2021 on: May 12, 2021, 07:33:35 PM

Where's Play to Earn?? It is trend now especially when you talk about Axie Infinity or Alien Worlds which has been popular due to tons of people grinding and promoting it with its legitimate paying mechanics just by playing games or simply mining NFTs. I think you should consider checking and researching how it was a huge help to tons of people in this pandemic 2021. AFAIK, cointelegraph recently featured a Filipino gamer whom have bought two houses just by playing Axie Infinity, and it really is a great way to earn crypto in this year and forward.
58  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: blockfi sending eth there for interest gains? on: May 12, 2021, 07:08:04 PM

Any reason to NOT do this?  Is it stuck there permanently in some way or limited on when / how soon you can withdraw if you need to quickly?

If you value your ETH and you worked for it for a long time with your maximum effort, then do not send your ETH on such platforms. Also, just upon sending it, you would already spend approx 200USD just for the transaction fee, which is possibly equivalent to your one year hold return if you continue staking it on BlockFi. I would just suggest you hodl it. AFAIK if it were ETH staking, it sometimes takes 3-7 days to withdraw after you unstake it depending on the platform's staking rules. Lastly, ETH staking isn't really profitable as ETH itself is not made to have an allocation for Staking programs, you might as well consider using it to stake other altcoins that has higher APY if you are onto making profits than being onto long term holding.
59  Other / Meta / Re: A likely case of merit purchased on: May 12, 2021, 06:42:34 PM

It turns out that on March 15, user sanada.motokage gave him 4 merits for 4 different posts (3 in Chinese or Oriental language). This user is atm with no negative trust but Lauda, who is no longer in DT but I think she was before, left him negative trust as an account trader.

Apart from that, in May 5, cherry11800 gave him the 6 merits he lacked to be promoted to junior member. This user woke up recently from a long period of inactivity. He hadn't posted anything in a year and just wrote two posts the same day, May 5.

If this statements pertains to certain instances that a user with many sMerits or is a merit source gave many merits to a user in his recent posts, then I know it is just a normal thing that someone would do. Recently I was shocked that my Telegram Bot Notifier(brought to you by TryNinja) alarmed me with notification that @The Pharmacist gave me merits (which I am so glad of) from my recent posts that I never expect to be merited! With the issue of constant merit giving especially just for a short period of time given by a user to many of other user's post, then I know it myself that it wasn't really a problem nor should be stereotyped as suspicious merit buying/selling. I guess some merit givers really sees some user's fruitful post then checks if there is other posts of that users worth meriting (not bragging, just sharing).

60  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sumo betting seems rigged - can you make profit with it? on: May 12, 2021, 06:06:43 PM
~

I never really considered betting on sumo wresting as I know that those fighters work for organizations or Mafias which is apparently common in Japan and therefore it can possibly be rigged sometimes. I mean if even NBA can be rigged, how come that this sport cannot? Apparently, if you know the background of each fight or was onto knowing which organization the fighters were from, then you can or should consider it in your betting, but the profit remains a 50-50 odd. Nonetheless, if I were to be asked, I wouldn't really suggest other sumo watchers to bet if they wouldn't spend time knowing the person they will bet.
