861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So a bitcoin scam has been getting a lot of publicity in the Philippines lately on: January 30, 2020, 11:29:21 AM
Its funny that I am also fooled that he is actually advertising cryptocurrency autotrading platform if you will refer to my post in our Local Section. But then, I think it is still has a positive impact to let people to be curious on how cryptocurrencies work and how it can affect their financial capacity in life. In contrary, the downside is that people are prone in believing fake news and much worse attracted when there is an get rich quick scheme opportunity where they can dive in.

In fact these potential victimization of money laundering or scamming can be exploited if people are hungry to educate themselves and be able to minimize the risk of being illiterate in the internet.

Well, I think I have spammed the google report link with these fraudulent websites!! Wink

Btw, what about those get paid to do sites? Are they worth it? Like answering surveys and stuff like that?

I have at least tried one website which pays their user some USD after doing some specific task that involves Categorization, Image Annotation, Image Transcription etc. AFAIK, they are using Paypal as their mode of payment for their users. You might want to check this website called Remotask Wink. In here you can at least earn $30 - $40 per week which is a payrate for starters.

If I were you, I'll be exchanging those USD into BTC here in this link.

Additionally, not having a skill or any knowledge to a particular field of work is not a good excuse to not earn money. All the information can be accessed using the internet in which you can learn almost anything. Invest in yourself mate, that is the only thing you can rely on.
864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in Silence on: January 28, 2020, 11:13:29 AM
You don't need to worry so much about what other people think of you especially when you are dealing with a new technology that not everyone can benefit because they are too lazy enough to discover the opportunities that awaits them. You just cannot force people to have the same mindset as yours due to the ignorance of the advancement of the technology which can make a positive impact to each and everyone of us.

You also gotta be careful when you are talking about BTC when it reaches another all time high or an amount where everyone gets excited because you are making yourself prone to The $5 Wrench Attack.

Well I think you have done a good move especially when people are discouraging you, instead of being a crybaby in the cryptospace you help yourself to make a better change and prove to them that BTC is a junk investment that aims to fool people.

The sad truth is that the people whom you considered who will support you are the most often who will not believe in your vision. And most of time the people you do not personally know or did not expecting to offer some help are the ones who will believe in you first   Cry
865  Economy / Goods / Re: Bitcoin Art, need your opinion. on: January 27, 2020, 11:29:25 AM
I am also a visual artist in our local country and I was a student of an Academe that specializes Bargue Drawings and Oil Painting and I think I can share with you some of the factors on how to price an artwork.

Pricing an Artwork is one of the most hardest part when you are entering the Art Market especially when you are just starting to make a name in the Art Industry. Choosing a right price can give the artist an anxiety and can put a lot of pressure especially when you are dealing with a client.

However, I am doing commissioned artworks drawn in Graphite and Charcoal Drawings that I advertise in my Social Media accounts that made me determine to set a pricing structure on my works. I will not tell an exact price since that is based on how artist invest their time and effort and it is perhaps subjective.

  • Since you are using Oil Based Media painted on a Canvas then you are probably going to price your artwork based on your Medium Price, time, effort and any other resources you've invested to create those wonderful pieces just to cover your expenses. You will also need to increase your price if you are going to frame the canvas.
  • You can also use the Size Based Pricing. You can either use  square inch (h x w) or by the linear inch (h + w). For example, you have a 4×4 inches = 16 square inches x 3 = $48 or 4+4 inches = 8 linear inches x 10 = $80
  • And since you are in this community. selling this with BTC is a good idea, if you have decided what price you are going to sell your artwork then maybe you consider converting USD in BTC at its current market price.

867  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Posting on BitcoinTalk: how do I know when my post is "too long"? on: January 27, 2020, 05:00:37 AM
It actually depends on the topic you are writing about. Posting a long and short post has something to do with every topic

If the topic is all about Technical Stuff, I prefer to read posts that are concise and can clearly explain the complex topic into a simple analogy.

If it is a discussion like politics or any topic that needs opinion from other people then it maybe a good idea to construct a long post until you you can clearly explain your point.

The heck is "TL;DR"?
868  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Become an Owner of 1 BTC - Only the brave and courageous wins! on: January 26, 2020, 03:14:31 PM
That is one of the most detailed and practical advice for people who wants to invest in BTC. But that method of investing is probably not applicable to my status because I am just a college student and does not have a stable source of income.

I also owe a fraction of BTC that I earned during my stay here in this forum but unfortunately I used some of them to compensate and help my parents to finance my education thus, accumulating or saving BTC is extremely difficult Sad

But I don't think those reason will stop me from becoming an owner of at least 1 BTC. As of now, I am studying programming languages, signature designs, or any traditional art services that can benefit me in the long run of staying here in this community.

Anyways, thanks for the boost. Much appreciated Wink

Bump!

Are you serious with regards to shipping free Stickers or Hats?

I would like to get some even if it is a few amount of stickers! Can I get some even if I will use it as a personal collectibles? I want to put it in my laptop where people can see whenever I use it in public. I don't think if I can put stickers in some of the public areas in our country but if have a chance, i'll do it.

Can I know what are the exact requirement you need? I'll drop you a PM
870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Different private key formats? on: January 26, 2020, 07:44:52 AM
I do not know if any of my answer satisfies your question.

AFAIK, in every bitcoin address format there is an equivalent format of bitcoin private key. I only have a prior knowledge with regards to this but I think I am able to share it with you, so please bear with me.

These are the 3 types of bitcoin address format in the mainnet.

1. Segwit compatible (P2SH) - P2SH stands for (Pay 2 Script Hash) that starts with 3.
2. Legacy Address (P2PKH) - (Pay 2 Public Key Hash) begins with 1.
3. Segwit Native(Bech32) - that starts with bc1.

These 3 addresses differ from different private keys.

I don't have any any idea about the derivation from the type of private key to create a bitcoin address.

bitaddress.org supports 4 private key formats:
base-16 or hexadecimal which is the encoding of the number (without any addition) in base-16
base-64 same as base-16 but with a different character set
base-58 which is special encoding used in bitcoin with a checksum
minikeys which is a special short format of private keys used in some collectibles (physical bitcoins)

you should use compressed base-58 as it is supported by all wallets so it can be imported in all of them.

Is this the same with Private Key WIF (WIF), Private Key Hexadecimal Format (HEX), Private Key (B64), Mini?
871  Other / Meta / Re: Yet incomplete Merit system. Implementation Proposal on: January 26, 2020, 02:08:02 AM
to users who would be juged to deserve it better

Who is going to judge that?

Hell yeah! There is an approximate 2M forum members and I don't think theymos and other reputable high ranking members can inspect each of them. As I see it, increasing or airdroping smerit to millions of user can escalate the cases of merit abuse

I don't say that it would be gived randomly, it is not hard to build a tool that make evaluation just by reviewing the history of sent merits!

I think of the possibility getting that both by applying for, or without asking for that after a possible review from mods
I don't think this will work the way you wanted it to be implemented. Building a system or a tool is a very tedious work, and the only way to check the quality of a user in sending their smerit to other user is by only scrutinizing it manually since giving merit to other user is very subjective.

If by viewing the history of sent merits of the user is the only factor considered by the bot / tool then it can be faked easily for those member who has a lots of smerit to send which can maybe lead to a shady merit distribution to their alts/ useless posts for the sake of another pack of smerit. But the good thing about this is that, high ranking members can easily determined which of the accounts are involved in unethical merit distribution that can decrease the number of accounts who are abusing the system.
872  Other / Meta / Re: How I can Increase Ranking on: January 26, 2020, 01:01:24 AM
As I see it especially with reputable member in this community. They are investing their time to learn about how cryptocurrency and the forum works. They just spend a lot of their time reading than posting in the community. Nothing can replace the reality of being educated in terms of the technicalities in crypto related stuff as well as having a good grasp of the rules and regulation in the forum.

People does not become successful in making their way up due to the ignorance of the forum rules and unethical behaviour in the community. People are getting aggressive and eventually lose their minds resulting to a shady behaviour because they badly want to earn that merit quicly so don't do it or else you will get fvcked up. Just a reminder for everyone that we should be making a change in ourselves to get change from the outside. Stephen Covey once said that we should Seek first to Understand, Then to be Understood

For a quick headstart, I find this thread very useful for people like you.

873  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Bitcoin/Crypto Pinas Avatar on: January 25, 2020, 07:27:57 AM
Thanks. I'm sure there are plenty of templates out there to explore and play with but I prefer something with Pinas theme. I'm not really sure how to describe it because I'm not that creative. I will just leave the design to whoever wants to make it.
I'll do it some other time, kasi I am still experimenting on how to use photoshop, medyo nangangapa pa kasi ako pero I do have my designs na on my mind, application na lang ang kulang.

Yes there are plenty of sites that automatically designs your hat pero di ko yun ginamit since it kills the creativity of a person and isa pa pagmamay ari yun ng isang website and I do not have the rights to copy their products. So I needed to find an open source template to originally implement the designs and to harness photo editing skills.
874  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Bitcoin/Crypto Pinas Avatar on: January 25, 2020, 06:48:05 AM

I think I found some template here on how to do these type of hats spreading around the forum. I edited this using Photoshop and created a transparent image of my favorite Avatar and linked it onto the hat.

I still need to explore other stuff on how to manipulate the other element in photoshop. Sana makatulong.

PS: The template in creating a hat is not mine but the design is originally created by me.
875  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Russlenat Campaign Management on: January 25, 2020, 12:27:20 AM
No. Mas okay na isuot yung current avatar na suot ko ngayon na I think gawa ni fnaleshot. I just created that avatar to replace the first avatar temporarily which has only single letter 'R'.

Magchange. Just wear the avatar that I am wearing.
876  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Anyone with Brave Browser? on: January 25, 2020, 12:12:07 AM
I would recommend na gamitin ito for daily browsing, pero if you are doing a research mas okay yung Google kasi madaming lumalabas na search result. Cheesy
Brave is browser lang naman, same thing, google pa din default search engine niya tho pweding palitan and its chromium-based katulad ng chrome, so whatever ang i'research mo using chrome, firefox, opera, safari and etc. same thing lang lalabas mag b'base nalang ranking ng results depends on sa location and browsing activity mo.

I think the sole reason here is using the duckduckgo search engine kaya kakaunti lang yung lumalabas na search result kapag gumagamit ako ng brave browser unlike google.

The good thing about duckduckgo is that even if there is a few result sure ka na secure yung browsing experience mo.
877  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: University Research: Queries about building a trading platform on: January 24, 2020, 03:48:28 PM
I guess I need to do a lot of homework since these topics you presented are unfamiliar to me  Huh. Maybe educating myself about the technical side of cryptography is not a bad start.

Anyways thanks for the recommendation. I would love to hear form other members too!
878  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Anyone with Brave Browser? on: January 24, 2020, 09:46:03 AM
I am a brave browser user and it is a definitely fine browser. There are lots of similarities sa google when it comes to bookmarking and adding extensions. But unfortunately may napansin lang akong hindi magandang function, if you will compare Brave to Google Browser mas kakaunti lang yung lumalabas na info when you are searching sa Brave browser unlike Google there are lots.

Is it safe? As per my experience it is much safer compare to Google kasi talaga wala akong nakikitang ads na nagpopop - up in different webpages compare sa Google there are ads everywhere. In terms of speed, mas mabilis ang Brave Browser, it only takes a matter of millisecond para maredirect kaagad sa website  Wink.

I have also seen na meron din ditong built - in dark theme. This is very useful when you are reading at nighttime.

As per the crypto side, may built in crypto wallet yung browser and yes makakaearn ka ng BAT (Basic Attention Token) token while you are using the browser but sa experience ko this is a very slow process. I think inabot ako ng isang buwan just to earn a little amount of BAT Token that has an equal value of 0.14 USD. However the downside of this browser is that kailangan mo pang magprovide ng KYC in order to withdraw your earnings. Napaka ironic nga eh kasi they are promoting anonymity while browsing pero they are implementing this kind of browsing reward.

The actual scenario is this, there are certain website na partner ata ng Brave and then Brave will automatically record your time and activity spent on that website and VOILA! makaka earn ka kahit papaano pero napakaliit. However if you turn on the ads on the settings, may mga lalabas na ads sa window mo and then automatically nag a-accumulate  ka ng BAT Tokens. Maybe maliit sa akin kasi hindi naman talaga yan yung primary purpose ko, my main purpose is to stay safe across the internet.

I would recommend na gamitin ito for daily browsing, pero if you are doing a research mas okay yung Google kasi madaming lumalabas na search result. Cheesy
879  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / University Research: Queries about building a trading platform on: January 24, 2020, 06:39:13 AM
Greetings Everyone,

Someone recommended me to post a query with regards to my planned research of creating another cryptocurrency platform in the next few years of my stay in the academic university and my sole reason for creating this post is to have a prior knowledge about the environment of building a trading platform and to have an upperhand during my senior years.

I have posted this planned research project in Beginner and Help board before and got a few response.

Greetings Everyone,

I can't think of another section where I can post this query so I decided to post it in here.

I am a 1st Year Computer Engineering Student in the University located in the Philippines and I am thinking of a research or a thesis project that is related to cryptocurrency since I am a into crypto and has an interest in finance as well. Someone told me that a research or a thesis project that relates to crypto is a unique and a good idea. As a student with a love for crypto and blockchain, I am aware that there are trading platforms out there that is big and has been known in the crypto industry for a long period of time, they became well known because they are offering services that gives their users an outstanding trading experiences. But can I ask if are there any other opportunities or improvements that needs to be implemented and designed on a trading platform? or are there any crypto research project that can help crypto enthusiast to better their crypto journey? Is this a good idea? If not, do you have any other opinions or recomendations?

I am pointing to exchanges like Binance, IQ Options, eToro, Coinspro (PH Based crypto trading platform), Coinbase etc.

I have read an article that creating a trading bot / computerized trading will be a good idea for aspiring Computer Engineers.
As Goldman Embraces Automation, Even the Masters of the Universe Are Threatened

I've got a few helpful response.

If i were to give recommendation, how about focusing security aspect of exchange or using trading bot?

What are the specific topic should I learn to proceed in the security aspect of exchange or a trading bot?

in one word: decentralization
specifically when it comes to altcoin trading platforms. for years we have seen exchanges either scam their users or get hacked and it is the users who are always the losers. having decentralized exchanges where the user remains in full control of his keys solves a lot of those issues but so far we don't have any as popular decentralized exchanges.

I know that in order to understand decentralization, I must have a basic understanding of cryptography and the blockchain itself. But are there any recommendation of topic that I will start with?

Trading bot logic is easy to understand. I'm pretty sure you can get the gist of it from reading one or two articles from the internet. Another topic that might be interesting is to know how 'good' or useful a trading bot is. It is discussed here and there but afaik there's no quantitative figure with lots of data about it.

I know there are lots of articles out there in the internet and there must be guidelines on how a trading bot works so I think reading a lot of them is a good start. However I would love to hear your opinions about this.
880  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Millionnaire mind : Paano Yumaman? on: January 23, 2020, 04:39:00 PM
The only basic principle that everyone should master is frugality. We all have unlimited expenses but has a limited income. Hindi natin yan dapat sinisisi sa work natin only because we are getting paid at a lower rate, then if that is the case, we should limit ourselves to an extravagant buying or spending disorder. We should live below our means.

If magtatayo naman ng business make sure na you know what you are doing and experienced what type of business you are creating. Mahirap pumasok sa business world if you have not learned or experience kung paano tumatakbo yung isang business system.

Well, in terms of financial literacy naman there are lots of Financial mentors that you can lean on sa youtube. There is chinkee tan, randell tiongson, marvin germo, arvin orubia and francis kong. I personally watched most of them and I truly learned a lot from them in terms of finance and leadership and character building.
