342  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BitcoinPrice.is - Real-time BTC <-> USD price conversion tool on: January 04, 2021, 01:40:20 PM
Hmm, you mean real-time price update? I am already doing that. The app polls Coinbase API every couple seconds and when there's an update in price it should automatically reflect on the page. You don't need to refresh to see live prices.

I think you should rather use Coingecko's API[1]. It is free and open-source (with no data-limiter or any token required!). Also, it's price is based on the average price from various exchangers compared to Coinbase's API which is primarily based on their rates (i guess). Also, it supports dozens of currencies and even those local ones, so it would be easier to query on their API (a little fetch calls with the user's input on what currency they like). I've use it recently for a simple project like this and it was easy to iterate.

I'd also like to suggest some minor UI changes especially with the user input, it is somehow off when the box grow bigger upon being active, maybe try having it with a fixed width. The input digits must also be limited to number only (you can restrict input in React's front-end codes AFAIK). And the digits must only be limited to 8 to 12 as it would be enough (no one types their whole digit holdings to convert apparently).

343  Local / Pilipinas / Re: ❗ Security Reminder on: January 04, 2021, 10:21:51 AM

Imagine, coins.ph price on BTc, ETH, BCH, and XRP is around 50 to 500 (or more) bigger eh, while the fee of using non-custodial wallet is actually based lang din sa config ng transaction speed na gusto ng user, but secured wise din..

In fact, securing your money in coins.ph or even in GCASH, PDAX, PayMaya, isn't really bad at all. Some user preferences doesn't really take security as a factor but rather nagofofcus nalang kung san sila mas magiging convenient. But it is indeed a good practice to have a non-custodial wallet for a portion of your total holdings. Safe than sorry ikanga.

Also, additional reminder about security, is that monthly or atleast twice a month magpalit ng MPIN, phone number (or kahit dapat hindi ipinupublic), and of course passwords (as much as possible lahat ng accounts is iprivate and palitan na ng password, especially if you know yourself na may malaki kang BTC amount). Edit:  Your site says you value privacy.   Can't google track you with this?
Code:
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.4.1/jquery.min.js"></script>

That JQuery API is used only for the front-end elements, particularly on handling events and manipulating it on the website -- the way how they receive the price input of the user and how they show the results. Apparently, they've used the google API so that the user would just use an online jQuery file than getting it from the website's server, but using it doesn't really tracks you down. And yes, Google API's for some front end development (such as using online Google fonts) never tracks any user, but rather just sends data without receiving one.

I like the idea of the project. However, just like Vod's have mentioned, you can use referral links to have at least a little monetization to your platform, or you can have 2 options where they can choose one with ref link or without (for a better user preference). And I would also like to suggest to add more supported exchanges. For the front end, there are other ways to visualize results that would fit  for a better user-experience, but yours doesn't really need a change at all. Good job!

349  Other / Meta / Re: Dark Theme for Bitcointalk | Nord 🖤 on: December 31, 2020, 08:56:27 PM

I didn't know about "Bitcointalk Extension - All In One" before. I'll have to test it first if it's still available in the Chrome store.
Since many of us already use BPIP Extension it might be a good idea to ask suchmoon to add such functionality as well.

AFAIK, if suchmoon would configure his current script with the BPIP extension to add this kind of feature, he would and might have a hard time replacing variables such as the elements placed by his extension to be appropriate in the dark theme. The current lists of dark theme extensions are already enough and had being used together with the BPIP extension by some users (I guess). So you can simply download the existing dark theme extensions for the forum made by other users and still use BPIP extension simultaneously.  Smiley

Any Experience from users about this bot?

NOPE NONE. As you can see, the OP is INACTIVE since April 21st and never post any other things than his trading bot, which never had any audiences nor reviews on how well this/his offer works. If you would like to use bots in you trading, better try GunBOT -- it had a lot of positive reviews from its users and you can look it up here in forum. Goodluck and happy trading!
351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Asking About Riobet Casino on: December 31, 2020, 07:55:27 PM

Definitely a good casino would not do that, it's a sign of scamming when they won't allow a withdrawal if we win, unless we are violating something.  A site that would ask for a KYC for no reason, or let's say for the reason we won't I think that's absurd, they are just slowly ruining their reputation.

They should know that people choose to gamble in crypto for their privacy or anonymity, so what's why would they destroy that?

Some casinos tend to have a legal registration and having crypto as their main currency for their platform doesn't mean that they would destroy the anonymity of the users because of the KYC. Remember, having registered on a local place often requires the gambling platform to perform or have its users perform KYC as their local government rules often requires them to do so. Many gambling in online platforms have physical permits of the places they operate. Hence, they don't really 'destroy' the anonymity of their users, they just follow rules according to the rules and prerequisites they must comply.
352  Other / Meta / Re: My account sblade stolen on: December 31, 2020, 07:24:57 PM
It happens that I had stored the password for the account but as username not the username but the email, for the username had a different password which wasn't correct.

Better restart your knowledge with cryptocurrencies. If I were you 5 years ago, I might be a Legendary member for now. But for now, (as suggested by most users) learn to stake publicly your addresses and learn how to sign it, so once such accidents would happen again, you can easily have your account back without further suspicion. There are numerous articles and threads, both here in the forum and across the internet, of on how to sign your Bitcoin address. Goodluck for your fresh restart in this forum! Happy posting!!  Grin
353  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading options on: December 31, 2020, 06:54:27 PM

I was looking into Binance's options trading feature, but I find it curious that it's only available on the app. Also, I have my suspicions about it being very one-sided and even rigged by the house.

It is normal to have suspicion against Binance as many people's first impression to that were the same, but when you use it, it works fine and doesn't really have any rigs that you are talking about. Yes, some first day listing of cryptos in Binance often dump, but that's because most of Binance users often tend to rush sell a crypto after listing.

There are tutorials on Youtube on how to trade in Binance Options Trading, you can find a lot of video that firmly describes and teaches you ways and strategies you can apply, but remember to study trading strategies alone as well, for you to have a better experience and knowledge in trading per se.
354  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: SEC on decentralized projects on: December 31, 2020, 06:23:57 PM
Forgive me if my question doesn't make sense, I heard SEC only have the power to go after centralized projects, if this is right why is nakamoto hidden? This is what comes to my mind, and the only answer I can find is, past years ago bitcoin is like a threat to central bank and Fiat, might be wrong but probably way they viewed it then, if Nakamoto failed to go into hidden the government would have hunt him down? Put false claims on him?  Correct me if I'm wrong

SEC is only targeting those companies that made their own crypto such as Ripple (might be Chainlink as well soon!), as they cannot provide legal files on a decentralized money that isn't being held nor created by a company. And no, Bitcoin's Decentralization isn't the reason why Nakamoto is still anonymous. Imagine if he would be known, can he be accused by SEC for any legal lawsuits? No, because first of all, BTC was made as an initial research, not intended to be invested by so many people, and not to be the money source of Nakamoto himself. Compared to the lawsuits in the centralized cryptos nowadays, they are often made as a system FOR AND BY a company.
355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Darts] 2021 PDC World Darts Championship on: December 31, 2020, 05:39:58 PM
I don't know about Anderson; I quite like van Duijvenbode and he had a nice comeback against Durrant. Anderson has a lot more experience but will his body hold in long matches?

Anderson is good and I might bet on him in his fight against van Duijvenbode. Also, his experience is a huge factor to be taken that makes him being in the upperhand in this battle. But we still don't know, I am quite amazed with Duijvenbode and he might turn the tables.

Pardon for being new to this topic, I've just watched Darts recently and it was sooo fun to watch. The feeling of watching it and the chants of audiences seems to be the same with Billiards and other two player games. Definitely following this thread!  Grin
356  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Understanding Blockchain Technology on: December 31, 2020, 05:06:37 PM
What is Blockchain Technology?
.....

Not bad for knowing the basics of blockchain technology. But honestly, it wasn't that simple. There was a video on youtube that explains everything well, for different ages! I guess that would be better when you would really want to understand deeper on how it works and how complex the Blockchain system was.

Everyone wants be a miner these days. Bitcoin miners are currently earning $1,000,000 per hour.

OFC, because most people think that it is just easy to mine.. Remember that there are forks that lessens the possible Bitcoins to be mined by miners. And with having a miner in this current situation, you might find a 3 to 5 year wait for your capital to be back. And 1M per hour is legit, but that would be the total earning of miners combined -- in which there are already thousands of miners across the globe that divides that amount.
357  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: looking for good business parners coin developer and exchngers on: December 31, 2020, 04:36:06 PM
I've read the idea of OP and I can say that this was such an ambitious project. It's literally printing money out of thin air. Maybe he got the idea on the stimulus money.

No even capital to start to pay for someone who would like to work for it.

I guess he watched so many TV series such as Breaking Bad and La Casa De Papel LOL. He's been bombarding the Proj Dev board with "looking for" threads yet fails to have a structured set of plans and ideas that would support his ambitious project. It's time to rather not waste an effort bumping his thread as he never progress with any certainties of his ambitions. Yes, ideas and dreams are good to reach when it was still fresh, but not to the point that you just wanted to jump right onto the top without evven climbing your way up (which the OP seems to be doing) LOL
358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: No 2FA and robbed of 0.097BTC on: December 31, 2020, 04:05:38 PM
So basically, this isn't the fault of Bitsler but rather the OP's shortcomings when it comes to having a secured device with an updated security countermeasures. It is too frustrating to have .097 being gone in just minutes.. but it would be much frustrating if you wouldn't make it a habit to secure your accounts and devices, which might end more loses than .097. Starting from now on, better change your password monthly (or weekly!), have it be in alphanumeric keys and with unique characters, and never ever visit nor download any suspicious links you receive.

Gambling is indeed fun, but remember that doing it online is riskier than on physical casinos when it comes to security. So prioritize it first before re-engaging in online gambling!

We Don't Know how to write white paper neither have idea all i know I need the coin and the coin or the token can make money

ROFL, go back to school first dude. Study markets, economics, and proper document writing! You cannot just go with you idea of making money without even any knowledges on how to start from scratch. Dude, you're too sus. You keep dragging people and provoking them with your 'coolest money making / future of crypto' ideas yet you cannot even write a white paper. YOU CANNOT HAVE A STRONG PRODUCT WITHOUT EVEN A STARTING PLAN AND A BACKBONE. You cannot jump onto the end of your 'idea' without climbing thousand mountains. I am also an aspiring developer, and it is too funny to see people looking like making a crypto is EZ as 123 then voila huge money. *face palm*
360  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitsand: A Virtual Unit Built On Peer-to-Peer Network on: December 31, 2020, 03:08:08 PM
Anyone can upload your designs here or publish your Bitsand version independently, let us do something interesting...

Design for what? You've just introduced something vague and ended your statement with a much open-ending statement. What do you really proposing here, more especially in 'design' part?

Also, I've been confused with what Bitsand you're talking about actually is. Are you immitating bitcoin? As far as I can comprehend you are saying that Bitsand would came from 'destroyed' Bitcoins, right? Yet AFAIK, you cannot mine those :v Is this like the Spark tokens that is based on the number of holders of XRP -- and you're doing the same thing onto Bitcoin? Overall, the theme of what you are talking in here is still blurry (as for me). You might as well produce some infographics that would portray the system you are proposing..

ps. I'm also a designer, you can send me a PM!
