41  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammed by betnomi (20 000 $ worth of eth and btc) on: August 07, 2023, 06:29:46 PM
It's funny how betnomi is still managing not having and active type two or type one flag. These newbie really don't understand how to create flags but they are really a victim.  I see user Csmiami created a flag but that was long ago and supporting that flag means not following the current instructions we have given for supporting or opposing a flag.

Let's just say none of these newbie are able to create a proper flag, according to the current system, Betnomi is not going to have an active red flag. Really sounds wired  LOL

I don't care what system tells us. Csmiami, flag is old and may look invalid but I just supported it. If anyone is with me then feel free to follow me.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=2646

Rules are made to make things better not to accept a liar. Not having an active flag against Betnomi while there are inactive flags still exists there is a kind of liar.

There are some certain aspects of the forum that are not really newbie friendly, and flags are one of them. AFAIK, anyone can create a type 1 flag, so there's also the question of why no one has yet raised one.

Regarding the old one, just because it happened some time ago doesnt mean it didnt happen; but there could be some sort of argument as to what kind of flag would fit best there. It's clear for me tho, and that's why it's still there even if inactive
42  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: The story of Betnomi.com (Exit Scam) on: August 07, 2023, 06:07:48 PM
There are concerns of those Ledger device they sent to the winners.
That's a risk indeed. Just in case: don't use it.
Does Betnomi have their shipping address, or did someone else ship them? I wouldn't want someone who pulled an exit scam to know my physical location.

Just quoting from the other thread; they indeed don't look good

Too late, they are long gone LOL
The story of Betnomi.com (Exit Scam) : This is something fresh for you to study.

Long or not, depends on how you see time. A month ago somebody sent this to me from Spring Hill, Florida, so somebody was alive in there and not willing to take the device for themselves and maybe sell on for a few hundred dollars. I'm sorry for people who got scammed, but I wasn't one of them.

Quote
By the way, don't cry later if the ledger wallet steal your crypto, who knows may be Betnomi created a backdoor in that device and when you will store something they will steal it. Are you not aware of Ledger recent update 😉?

The device looked brand new and untouched, unlike the ones from the articles like this one that clearly was repackaged and had scam instructions inside.

I have an older nano S and am aware of their new updates.
I hold my bitcoin offline and used my old ledger to hold ethereum.
I said it before that your trust in the company should be proportional to the amount of money you have and the risk you're willing to take.
I'm fine with holding ~2000 dollars of ETH on a ledger device worth ~200. If I had a million, I'd be looking for a better solution.

Besides...here's more.

Quote
PS: This is not about the money; I couldn't care less about 0.5€ or even 18€; but having a "serious" casino miss almost 10% user funds twice is something to keep bear in mind. Apart from that, the withdrawal delays during bull runs are another interesting thing to have in mind

I think this message actually sums it up pretty well. As a side note, yes I was later on paid the missing money from the withdrawal, but the free bet (i think it was that) never made its way anywhere. I can sort of see why a type 3 flag could be opposed in this case, but it would have definately been grounds for a type 1. Although as I already mentioned somewhere, hidhsight is a bitch.

---
I mean... I'm not sure what more you could need? It's not really tasteful on their side not to put up a sign saying "this casino has exit scammed"; but I guess that if after more than a month offline and radio silent they come back and act as if nothing had happened, then there is some really big problem around here

46  Local / Mercadillo / Re: [AOBT] The Alliance Of Bitcointalk Translators on: August 04, 2023, 02:07:34 PM

Carding as in copying/duplicating credit cards and "getting 18k worth of goods a month".

Need to be an idiot to show your real data everywhere, be a resident of the USA (where they are quite strict about fraud) and at the same time think about Exit Scam.

I mean, I would bet that we have seen worse, haven't we?

Bad management did for sure play a big role in this whole fiasco; the way many things weren't automated and had to be manually approved by the owner (although a lot could have changed in those 2 years we didn't talk) and bragging about hacking and saying people "stalk" him because it is known that he has some over 20ish BTC... And I would even stretch it a bit further. If you know you are not capable of running something, and still try/don't care about the outcome; aren't you in a way also scamming your users (when things indeed go south).

It's not related to this problem, but I do remember parts of what happened to their ICO. AFAIK, the investors never saw a cent out of it, and the idea back in the day was to re-launch the ico token but migrating to a different network and take once again money from investors. I never heard the end of it tho.

This is my speculation but lot of weird things happened that made me think sorsis intentionally slowly shut down betnomi and started new casino with different name and new token.
---
Would you mind sharing some more details? I wouldn't mind doing some sniffing around to check a few boxes....

----
Wow, that's really unfortunate and I'm actually sorry to hear. It's not really relevant now, but as far as I can remember, I never actually got paid anything for the time I was helping him/the brand. It sort of got delayed to a  "we will talk about it" and then it never actually happened before we had that problem. But still; I find it surprising to hear that someone that I remember talking about how he had a few tens of BTC (it's 2:30 am, my memory may be fuzzy) saying that he has trouble accessing funds. I understand you wanting to wait; but I also think you've waited enough before pulling the trigger.

I mean, I did put a flag up because some stuff I had seen and experienced regarding payments; but since the amount (not the %) was small, people did sort of ignore it. Besides that, the stuff that happened with gosu/efialtis is public; and we did list them in the blacklist for some of those reasons aswell. And some people may also remember that one time a passport was posted here in the forum to mock a user trying to pass KYC under the premise that "it was not his real passport"...

I will go agree that not everything about the site was bad; but all in all, and after some experience I've gained on the industry ever since, I'd be confident to say that most of that was something that should be considered standard, and not something out of the ordinary.

And well, of course everything looks different in hindsight; but would have there really been a point in coming to the forum every day to talk about what people had been ignoring? would it have changed a thing? guess we'll never know

Hey Loyce

Not sure if mentioned before, but I've just catched a few accounts with green feeback from your alt account by the text "leaving feedback from non-dt alt".

It seems that it made the cut at the start of the month. It doesn't really change things, but thought that you may reconsider some of the sent stuff (or not)

icopress has, but not much of it has been made public tho. I personally haven't talked to sorsis in a long while after a rather big disagreement we had that anyone can read about searching a bit.

Me and a few other people in this thread keep in touch directly or indirectly with Betnomi and keep each other in the loop (surprisingly there is indeed a connection with Betnomi at the moment). We have a real contingency plan for emergencies (both in the forum and in real life).

----

(btw, I must say i do totally agree with how unpleasant it is to scroll past a few tens of shitposts every time I want to read something on the issue becuase of mostly stake sig spammers.)

Some things stop being an accusation when the person in question admits to it... And there is plenty of stuff that sorsis has done (and claimed) that would really not fit into the narrative of this casino being a community friendly one that would take care of everyone
54  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | Sportsbook & Casino 🎲⚽ on: July 29, 2023, 03:04:17 PM
There is 0% chance they come back, don't be so naive.

I mean, they did come back to the forum after one scam accusation, a failed ICO in which they received money from investors (and it's surprising we are not digging into that) and the owner publicly talking about his past side gigs as a hacker; some people have a tendency of surprising you

56  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | Sportsbook & Casino 🎲⚽ on: July 25, 2023, 08:46:29 PM
It is necessary to present real evidence, not as you did, which looks more like an attempt at manipulation.

--

Well, but as a matter of fact, there are currently 5 inactive flags against betnomi. One could argue that revising the evidence presented on those would somehow bring one of them (at least) back to active

Hey GOSUS;

Besides the regular reminder to check the blog entries from time to time to see some of the currently active promotions on our casinos, take a look at the amazing promotion Sportsbet is bringing us: The Million-Dollar Challenge!!

AH! So there was another thread! Locking this for the moment until it may become relevant once again, thanks for the tip!
59  Economy / Reputation / About Betnomi on: July 17, 2023, 11:41:08 AM
So this is a rather strange one so far? So I'll try sort things as much as I can. I'm not creating this in the Scam accusations board because I rather want some discussion about the topic before anything; and I'll be pleased if shitposters stayed away, but I guess that's just a too big ask.

Anyway; so far we have:

 - One casino that has stopped operations around July 1st
 - Website started to show a "scheduled maintenance" pic on July 2nd
 - No official communication on any front.

And I'm actually surprised that besides some talks on the casino thread, there has been nothing more about it. Just call me crazy, but a casino going dark for 2 weeks now would bring some more attention if you asked me. Now, I know that the casino has invested some money in general creating community content and promotions, and I understand that people don't want to start pointing fingers. But come on, 2 weeks and nothing?

I'm personally not affected by this, because my relationship with the site ended rather abruptly for reasons that are public and others that are not. But what is bugging me is that no one wants to break the ice about it. Well, here it is.

And I would value that people that actually want to contribute posted here; because there is a lot of things that are unkown to the public about this site or that people don't ask questions about, and I really want to dig deep into it. (just from memory, the ICO they had, what happenend with the money and investors?)
