Yep, I'm checking the spreadsheet once again; but it's a pain in the ass because there's no date reference on each week... but they do most certainly overlap.

There's no reason to believe both accounts weren't controlled by the same person in first place, but I don't see a posting gap in habbears post history, compared to the one from Myfe when he left and stopped being the freebitcoin rep.

Besides, why leave a position that would presumably pay good out of a sudden, but still post with the other account?

I went back and looked just for the Chipmixer connection. Habbear was removed in round 79 which would be 104 weeks ago.
Have to disagree, I see him on week 99 on the line 59 of the spreadsheet.

Habbear was removed for Negative trust, and then they applied with their ALT
Habbear received the last payment on 2019-01-13; whereas the application from Myfe was done on the November 25, 2018. Besides, considering the on this payment a couple of posts above the application the 3GemtDLiuUDGKXqPxckP1gZrsroCHTZdMs address is already being used by Habbear, I think it's pretty safe to asume that he tried to enroll simultaneously.

Well, I do have to strongly disagree with the correct answer of the 21st question... I hope everyone agrees with me on that one

PS: 12759 points; not sure if it's good or bad
825  Other / Meta / Re: Why so strict on members on: November 21, 2020, 10:02:37 PM

He didn't actually open a thread about his ban in Meta... He opened a thread to complain about one post getting deleted, and also mentioned that his other account was banned.

I was also going to comment same way The Pharmacist did, but considering his only post had been in Meta, and was slightly related to the ban... Depends on the flexibility we want to give him.

BPIP didn't show the other account as banned, so it must've been a temp one
826  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginner question regarding hardware wallets on: November 21, 2020, 09:51:34 PM
I bought some back in April, and the shipping was made from either france or belgium; I don't remember it %, but it was within the EU for sure.

OP, Ledger will be having some discounts this week or the next because of the black friday; I've read they're going to have a 40% discount, so it may be the best option to buy your HW straight to Ledger on these upcoming days

He got the boot on round 99 for (my educate guess) being inactive and some negative trust he had received
828  Economy / Reputation / Myfe -- Hacked account? on: November 21, 2020, 08:53:33 PM
Earlier today, I came accross this post from Myfe:

Is it possible to create a PGP Signature from any wallet address?

I appreciate the Kleopatra tutorial, but I don't use Kloepatra and I shouldn't have to use a new wallet simply to sign my wallet address...right?

Thanks.

The username sounded familiar, so after some scrolling, I remembered that he had been a representative for Freebitco.in. It surprised me a bit that a former representative from a crypto company mixed such concepts, but that's no crime and definately no proof, but I decided to do some digging just in case, and boy did I find something:

First of all, this 2 accounts are connected:

Myfe
HabBear

Where did I find the connection? In these 2 different addresses:

Code:
1GJL2m5h7oMakRsdaQT3QQ4XzyFnKQwbCQ
3GemtDLiuUDGKXqPxckP1gZrsroCHTZdMs

1GJL2m5h7oMakRsdaQT3QQ4XzyFnKQwbCQ

This address was used to make signature campaign applications by both users; last time it was used by each profile:

Myfe January 18, 2020
HabBear January 17, 2020

3GemtDLiuUDGKXqPxckP1gZrsroCHTZdMs

This one was a little dirty slippery bitch; it was ONLY used by Myfe to make an application to the chipmixer campaign here. But the address had 0.5BTC, and hadn't been used before in the forum (not something odd, but let's check just in case...). Blockchair showed that that address had only received funds from the address used by.... Chipmixer! And his application had been rejected; so checking the spreadsheet, I found that from rounds 39 to 99, Hubbear used that same address.

The application post from Myfe was made while Hubbear was enrolled (and using that same address, lol). Darkstar_ would most likely have noticed that, but this is already an attempt to cheat the campaign.

Post quality hasn't declined, but Hubbear does have a fluent/correct english, so it'd most certainly be something doable.

What I think happened
I believe that Myfe left the forum some years ago, and after being abandoned, it was hacked. User Hubbear bought that account in an attempt to cheat in the chipmixer campaign, because the first post after the inactivity was that application. Both users did also wake up in January, 2020; both to join signature campaigns. It could also be that both accounts are hacked and bought, but since only one of them had its password reset; I don't think that's the case
829  Other / Meta / Re: [CLUB] The SpamBusters! Busting rule-breakers constantly. on: November 21, 2020, 07:55:39 PM
Is this spam?

Read: "How to up your hashrate on PhoenixMiner" - Read on Medium

I've seen a couple of these already on the patrol, but I'm not sure about whether reporting it is the right thing to do....
830  Other / Meta / Re: Suspicious link removed on: November 21, 2020, 07:44:59 PM

And is there any actual criteria that must be met? Or at least that can be revealed; because it'd sure be nice to have the ETHPILL links blacklisted...(I'm aware the scammers would simply change the link, but still)
831  Other / Meta / Re: Ninjastic.space - BitcoinTalk Post/Address archive + API on: November 21, 2020, 05:10:04 PM
Just curious; does the address scraper also take profile addresses into account? I'd assume it doesn't, but I rather double check
832  Other / Meta / Suspicious link removed on: November 21, 2020, 05:06:28 PM
During the lsat wave of spam bots, I've actually payed some attention to the links provided, and saw that some of them had been redacted.

Example 1
Example 2 (the most visual one)

There's a couple more I could bring, but I don't really feel like digging my report history, and these two were rather recent.

Now, for what I remember on other forums, suspicious links are hand-removed; there's no automated mechanism to redact them. So, is Bitcointalk any different? And if it's not... does a mod really look at that post, decide to redact a few of the links instead of straight trashing it?

I'm asking because I find this last one part hard to believe, but if there's some automated system to delete these links, under what premises does it work? Manual black/white-listed links?
833  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginner question regarding hardware wallets on: November 21, 2020, 04:09:32 PM
I want to start investing in crypto. I have read that in order to be 100% safe someone needs to buy one hardware wallet.

First of all, welcome to the forum!

Now, about that one statement from your OP, there's a small correction to be made. Altough using a hardware wallet your security is increased by a lot, it will never be 100% safe. There are still some things that are completely up to you; such as not storing the recovery phrase in a digital device, storing that non digital seed in a safe place... along with some other security means; such as paying attention to phishing emails, etc.

Hardware wallets are safer than regular wallets, but never 100% safe; always keep that in mind.

I believe the software question has already been answered correctly, you need to use a wallet software in order to be able to operate with any type of coin. Now, if you are going to be using Altcoins, Ledger Live may be your best option, as it supports multiple altcoins. But if you are only going to be using Bitcoin, I'd reccomend you used Electrum together with the Ledger HW. It will provide many funtionalities that aren't included in the Ledger Live app
834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / [W]BTC [H]DOGE on: November 21, 2020, 03:11:36 PM
Simple as the title says, I want to do a small trade (7997.864502550 DOGE) for it's counterpart in BTC. Pricing according to coingecko, at the time of sending.

Won't go first with:

-Newbies
-Negative trusted people

I don't mind using escrow, but it's a small ammount.

840  Economy / Reputation / Re: Another trust abusing by efialtis on: November 19, 2020, 03:13:58 PM
I have seen the pms and looks like you tried to force him into doing something or get distrusted, then you distrusted him and told him basically it can change in the future( if he breaks and does what you want).

I would say the abuse is on you OP

Apart from this; which just looked like some trust drama attempt, I'm going to ask an evident question....

Why are you complaining in NOVEMBER about a trust rating left in JULY? I may be missing something, but it just makes no sense to wait 4 months to do so
