Creo recordar que era Jr Member, por lo que a la semana se ganaba 0.0025BTC, que con un precio si mal no recuerdo de cerca de 2000$.... un Jr podia ganar 2 dolares?? Desde que blockchain quitó la opción de ver cuanto valía cada cosa en su momento es un poco cristo rescatar cosas tan viejas. Si extrapolamos a el caso de un Sr, que sería tu caso ahora, 0.0175BTC... unos 35?

Vale, este post es un caos porque segun estoy escribiendo las cosas estoy cortocircuitando la memoria. And kind of answering to the rest of your post, well, yes, there is slim possibility you could loose your coins even if you did everything the right way. Now, the malware you have described, a paperclip malware, is easily noticeable when using a hardware wallet (and actually paying attention to what you are doing), because you have to physically confirm the transaction on the device; most of which have a display that will show the address you are actually sending the coins to. Just double and triple check everything, and you should be safe from that. There are other vulnerabilities, but with paying attention to what you are doing, and being a bit cautious, you can prevent many things from going wrong. And then, there are a very little few vulnerabilities that even if you do everything the right way, you won't be able to prevent them. Mocacinno has listed a few of those in this other thread, and it's definately worth the read.

If I've understood everything correctly (that'd be close to a miracle, lol), early miners didn't mine any genesis block. They did mine spendable Bitcoins, so there should be no issue with how the wallet software sees them. There would also be no issue in recovering those coins/moving them to a new wallet. The software doesn't "see" those 50BTC because they cannot be spent

I'm not an actual Ledger user, but regarding the bogus firmware issue.... didn't Ledger Live check for the authenticity of the firmware once you plug the device in?

I'm particularly interested in this discussion, because even if I wouldn't buy a used HW (I already own a few so no need), I do (re)sell some of them. For example, buying in "bulk" makes the devices cheaper, so I sell the extra ones; always sealed and untouched of course.

I would rather be against this feature, there may be a couple of reasons to access the site from a country from whcih you cannot bet. Of course, I'd say blocking the actual money games should be done, but a complete block....? I don't think that's actually necessary

Lo mas seguro en este caso es que se tratase de un producto reacondicionado, y por eso estaba gestionado a traves de amazon. Pero en cualquier caso, no veo que amazon tenga nada de culpa aqui, ya que no tienen por que saber lo que estan vendiendo ni como funciona; "solamente" que funcione. Sin embargo, el comprador en este caso.... varios errores garrafales. No estoy en contra de comprar "nuevos de segunda mano", e incluso yo tengo un par de Ledgers a la venta (sellados de fabrica, pero no es importante aqui), pero si eres una persona que esta comprando un dispositivo de seguridad, lo minimo que puedes hacer es informarte sobre el antes de comprarlo, y ya no hablemos de antes de mandar un centimo. Incluso aunque sea nuevo, todo dispositivo tiene que formatearse, porque luego pasan estas cosas, y la mala fama se la lleva el bitcoin, no la poca cabeza de los usuarios

Si, la verdad es que todo el tema es bastante irritante, pero estamos todo el rato en las mismas. Decisiones que no se toman desde arriba (o se toman mal), y los ciudadanos de a pie acabamos pagando. Lo del toque de queda lo veo bastante poco eficiente, sinceramente. Se sigue pudiendo ir a la calle para trabajar (porque todos sabemos que en las empresas no hay contagios), pero no se contempla el caso de desplazamientos para estudiar (en mi caso personal, hora y media de viaje y dias que salgo de clase a las 20:30....). Lo unico los bares? Tal vez, pero por un par de horas arriba o abajo, dudo que haya una diferencia que no se pueda obviar. Y despues de la hora de cierre de los bares actual (01:00) no queda realmente nada ni nadie en la calle...

Que el estado de alarma se decrete para poder tomar unas medidas puntuales si que me parece bien, pero por dios.... que sean medidas competentes

Destacar que las autonomias van a tener flexibilidad de una hora sobre esas 23 (asique en algunos sitios empiezan a las 22 y otros a las 00) y no se si las 6 de la mañana tendrán tambien esa flexibilidad (o si puede ser media hora de cada, vaya).

Por otra parte, estos meses que ha empezado el curso y he estado trabajando, si que tengo que añadir que aunque las terrazas puedan ser un foco, no son ni para nada comparables con el transporte publico o las condiciones de algunos centros de trabajo. I'm rather surprised to see that no one has yet suggested using a Hardware Wallet for multi-currency storage instead of different wallets or web based/exchanges. Even if you have to spend a little money (less than 100$ in most cases), they can store multiple crypto at the time, are way more secure than almost any other wallet configuration, and require no KYC.

I've been out of the forum for some months, so I may have lost a bit of memory regarding this stuff, BUT, for what I seem to recall, there is a little problem when exporting private keys of old (like very old) Core wallets. I may have to do some research to fully remember what exactly it was, but I think it was close to the lines of the wallet not being created using a HD seed, and thus, you needed to know exactly in what address you had the coins and then search the key to that address inside the document, because there was no master private key available (might be something similar, or I may be slipping a lot).

Anyway, if this doesn't ring a bell to you, or anyone else reading this, I'll be searching for it

Payeer por lo menos si que permitia operar con BTC reales y a direcciones de fuera de la plataforma. Recuerdo haberla utilizado por una faucet que pagaba en Rublos, hice un par de retiros a payeer, de ahi lo converti a Bitcoin, y me permitió retirarlo a lo que por aquel entonces era mi monedero (blockchain).

Desconozco como funcionaba Skrill, y creo que todos estamos seguros de que lo de PP no va a ser ni por asomo algo parecido

I was doing some browsing around, and links from one post got me here. I was pretty shocked because all I saw was the whole post as a big blank item, so I tought "well, maybe it was created, but later on deleted for god knows what reasons", so I tried to quote it to see if that was the case. It wasn't. Quote tab shows the whole text, but when hitting the "preview" button, no text is displayed. Screenshots of what I saw below:






Surprised about this, I tried pasting the link in Microsoft Edge, and it did display the whole post correctly. I decided to try using a Firefox Incognito tab, and it did also display correctly, so I was very puzzled. Out of the blue, I remembered that I have an ad blocking extension installed in Firefox, so out of curiosity, I tried turning it off and reloading the page. The post was correctly displayed. Trying to understand what the hell was going on, I tried to check the extension looking for what it had blocked, and it turns out it has blocked.... nothing!



I know the picture is in Spanish, but I believe it is understandable enough.

Now, anyone could try and help explain to me why this is happening? So far this is the only post I've seen this happening, but I'll keep looking
