41  Economy / Speculation / Re: A guy celebrating Bitcoin reaching $100 on: February 20, 2021, 01:39:11 PM
I just hope he's a member here and seeing this photo. It would be really amazing how his journey is if he's still holding his bitcoin right now.

Looking back now, it's funny how we celebrated all those significant milestones Cheesy

I have screenshots from $666, $6666 and $10000 round in preev somewhere.

I also took a screenshot but on in preev but in Freebitco.in. I lost that screenshot at $769 in the past. It is amazing to be a part of this run and I took that screenshot because it has 69 at the end of it.
42  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao offered $10 million to fight Terence Crawford on: February 20, 2021, 12:09:18 PM
$10 million is a bit low isn't it? Is this amount even confirmed? I heard that Manny is asking for $40 million. If he manages to get a fight against Floyd (looks impossible as of now) or GGG (the weight difference is an issue), then he can easily rake in at least $100 million. Anyway, if he wants to use the fight against Terence Crawford as a preparation, then it is OK. In that case he don't need to worry much about the money.

It is low compared to Pacquiao's catch.

Although looking at the amounts he's getting from his past fights, that would be one of the biggest salaries he will be having with his last fight against Brook being said at $4M. A fight against Floyd Mayweather is possible but that would be hard to arrange and considering how Mayweather wants to enjoy his retirement with exhibition matches, I think it is near to impossible.

Pacquiao has the right to demand because he is a superstar, when Pacquiao was still starting he is not getting a big cut also, and now that he is already in the top, he is just using his fame to demand this big amount. It's Crawford's biggest paycheck, why would he ask more, if without Pacquiao, he would not make huge paycheck, unless he will fight Spence Jr.

Do we have any information about a Spence vs. Crawford fight? Those two might create a huge profit but I still think that Pacquiao could generate more considering his fame and the fact that he's closing to his retirement means a lot of people are waiting for his fights. I am rooting for this fight and I doubt that Crawford would decline this even though he has a low cut compared to Pacquiao.
43  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Gambling Weekly on: February 19, 2021, 11:57:03 PM
Gambling through sportsbooks and casinos seems like a great use case for Bitcoin (and other cryptos) at the moment.

I don't think so. The price is hugely increasing right now and it is still going strong which shows that investing or asset is the best use for bitcoin and other crypto currencies for now. Well, not just now but in the long run, for sure, it will be the reason why a lot of new investors would go to bitcion and not because they will be gambling.

It allows people from countries with strict gambling laws to play with no worry of punishments. It also allows successful gamblers to play without account restrictions placed on them - as they would get at fiat sportsbooks - and a whole host of other benefits.

That is true though but they should still be worried about the punishment they would be taking. You never know how will these officials would track you down especially for those countries that strictly implement laws against online betting and crypto currency mainly bitcoin. You can get away with VPNs and such but still, please be careful.

As this sector is growing fast, I thought I'd write a weekly update about the developments in the crypto sportsbook/casino world.

There are a lot of news and articles being written on goggle and some of them might get through but that would be amazing. While you're at it, you could add more articles or more news about bitcoin and crypto currencies so it could be a main go-to by some people interested in it.

Do you guys think gambling could be one of the main catalysts for Bitcoin becoming more widely adopted?

It is already one of the main catalysts of bitcoin's adoption. Even in the past, gambling is one of the most popular reasons why a lot of people knew about bitcoin since most of us here are into gambling to start with. The fact that there is a poker sequence embed in its program calls a lot of attention to gamblers and users as well.
44  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What games are best suitable for PvP gambling? on: February 19, 2021, 11:11:27 PM
All I can think of right now are games that have been played in our country for a lot of years now. Tongits, Pusoy, Pusoy dos, Lucky 9, Bit Game, and right now the "What's in the middle game", which I am not familiar with. Most of them are very suitable for PvP gambling and whatsoever, it has no house edge as it is dependent on the players on how they will play the game.

Most of them are luck-based game but I see Bit game as a skill-based game as it is closer to Poker, the same as Tongis and Pusot Dos.
45  Economy / Speculation / Re: When Bitcoin is going cross $60k? on: February 19, 2021, 11:03:33 PM
We will be reaching that his week for sure. The price is at $55K right now and it is not showing any signs of stopping which means that it would quickly reach $60K if we don't have any resistance keeping us from reaching the goal of this week.

Either way, we don't need to be so rush about reaching this price mark because, with a lot of interest in it and investors warming up to bitcoin, we will absolutely reach it. Consider it done as they've said it.
46  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin crash is inevitable on: February 19, 2021, 02:20:11 PM
What's wrong with buying at $50K? I don't see any mistakes there since the price is still strong. If they bought at $50K, they already have a minimum profit of $2K. Saying that you can't just say that people should not buy at that price because no one knows when will it actually go low or go high. Who knows it might sprint to $60K, you might regret it for a long time.
47  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lucky Bitcoiner on: February 19, 2021, 02:16:14 PM
On the random note of watching YouTube videos came across this Lucky Bitcoiner whose house is extravagant. Have anyone came across similar lucky persons who are rich enough through bitcoin. I'm completely excited on watching the video, because to own such a mansion isn't an easy thing.
Lucky Bitcoiner

He's not lucky, he perceived bitcoin to be a huge asset in the future that would give him a lot of profit which is not lucky but knowledge. Another thing is that I don't think bitcoin is the only crypto or asset he has since most of the holders or investors of bitcoin won't immediately sell it. Maybe he's already rich to start with.
48  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC HIT $50000🎯 on: February 19, 2021, 01:47:45 PM
The day will be remembered and we will surely hit another price mark in the next few months or years. Since we hit $50K, for sure all of us are looking at $100K right now. The price is still going so we might even see a $55K or a $60K this week. The price is so quick to rise, that is why the chance of hitting a 6-digit price this year is not impossible.

I am not worrying about correction at this point, I am worried about some of my small amount dividends to withdraw with their annoying fees.
At first I have a doubt that bitcoin will reach this price that we are having in the market then it happens , it true that there's nothing impossible in this world, I hope we can all get that gain we are waiting for, just be careful with your asset, bitcoin might have sideways and it could have a dip before it will go to the moon, that's what I am seeing now but bitcoin is dominating upward so maybe no more sideways.

As long as there are a lot of people that would keep their trust in bitcoin, for sure, the price will always be alive. Since the price is still going strong, I don't think there will be a dip but maybe a small step back before it launches itself to a higher price range. I am looking at a 6 digit price range since for sure, that is the next goal.
49  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sponsor Money from Casino, Is bad or Good? on: February 19, 2021, 01:40:22 PM
I think it will be bad for the viewers and not the sponsored personalities. What if that personality is a popular celebrity and a lot of teenagers, young people that look up to him and follow him on social media or maybe on youtube. As these teenagers might engage in gambling at a young age that can destroy their lives. These people should be responsible for what they are doing since they have that influence that can drive their supporters.
I slightly agree with you but on the other hand gambling isn't that limited given that a lot of games offer the same mechanics or at least a similarity to what actual gambling games looks like. Most of the people should be aware at this point on what gambling is and know the downsides that it could possible give to you.

All I can think of this are those games with the mechanics of loot boxes in their shops. There are a lot of games like that now and most of them are some of the most popular games in this world like Dota 2, CSGO, and Fortnite. There are a lot of Youtube personalities who open this problem and I don't know if there is an effect of it on players especially those underage players.
50  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does knowing your sport and teams really make you better at betting on them? on: February 18, 2021, 11:41:53 PM
for me, you should also familiarise yourself with other teams, not only your favourite one.

This is exactly what some of the gamblers have neglected when they bet on games.

Knowing both teams that are playing makes you realistic, unfortunately some of us are bias, we only look at our own team and believe that we will easily win, and that's the reason why most of us loses in sports betting because of that kind of thinking.

I think this depends on the gambler himself. There are a lot of gamblers out there that you are talking about but there are also a lot of gamblers that don't base on what they have on their team but base their bets on their analysis and knowledge about that team and the opponent's team.

For sure most of the bettors here are like that, are analyzing their team and their opponent based on what I am seeing on their posts on this thread.
51  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take team's cohesion into account when betting? on: February 18, 2021, 11:01:14 PM
That is hard to analyze as we don't know much about the players and we just depend on what we are seeing on their games. I don't know if this counts but the Wizards had this peculiar endgame against Houston Rockets where Bradley Beal seems to be upset about. I don't know what happened but upon searching some articles it seems he's upset about his teammates disrespecting John Wall.

Then a lot of articles are stating that Beal is angry as he has ever been on his team and they are not doing fine which I think why they really need that smooth relationship.
52  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New Government Rules Mean No More Gambling Sponsorship on: February 18, 2021, 12:52:57 PM
...
They don't want to enforce gambling and being viewed by their audiences but aren't they aware that there was a lot of sportsbooks that are putting their leagues and matches to have something to bet on?

A lot of sportsbooks to be exact and as long as there are a lot of them available online, I don't think their goal to lessen or minimize the addiction of the gamblers there. These sponsorships are just one of those legs that keep the league running, taking those off might not stop the league but people will still see the effect on it.

They are so focused on what they are seeing and not knowing the root of the problem.

54  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thailand government seeks measures to tackle the problems of illegal gambling. on: February 18, 2021, 11:03:01 AM
Really? Where are you from?
How are you connected to internet, you are using a 3G or 4G mobile network with a smartphone?

I'm from the Philippines. I live in a province and our province doesn't entirely have mobile reception. Last November, a typhoon hugely affected our province and here in our place, the cell tower fell down. We don't have a signal for 3 months and just today, they fixed the cell tower and we just regained our signal.

When they are still fixing it. We usually go to this place on the mountainside just to access the internet. It is really hard especially for the students and for those people that needed it. We are far from the town where the signal is strong and we just have these places where the signal is strong and most of them are on the mountain or in a river dike which is far from here.
55  Economy / Economics / Re: The pros and cons of going cashless on: February 17, 2021, 11:58:54 PM
Cash can be extremely private and untraceable. The fact that criminals are widely using fiat with their illegal activities or transactions means it has its convinience in that area. Also, transactions with bitcoin can still be tracked, all of the transactions can be seen on the blockchain so you can't say that it is extremely private.

If you want extreme privacy, there are a lot of other cryptos out there.
There are tons of mixers too if you believe someone is tracking your BTC address and the transactions you are making. In fact there are some mixers that can arrange fresh funds for you, which means the coins are never used before and are coins which have been mined by the miners.

I believe the only problem with cash is the risk of theft because imagine you are a millionaire but your wealth is in BTC and you don't have any risk of being robbed or anything like that. While if you have cash and people near you would notice that and the threat starts from there itself. Going cashless has a lot of problems of its own like lose of money in case you misplace the private key or online scams are there who can inject virus in your system and take everything.

I don't think these millionaires would keep their cash on theirselves at all times unless they are those ones that won the lottery and can't manage their money so well. We have ways now to take care of that huge lumo of money and it will usually be the cards they have not the cash itself.

Each side has their own pros and cons and I think we should stick with what we have right now because there are a lot of things to consider before turning it to cashless.
56  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should I sell or hold on my bitcoin? on: February 17, 2021, 11:54:52 PM
snipped~

True. It is not right time to sell BTC unless you need cash badly and there is nothing else to sell out. Technical charts are Bullish and if it breaks out from here then, according to Fibonacci Table next likely level is 50 to 51K and even it can hit 54 before we see any correction.

I am not worried about that correction though. For sure a lot of investors are waiting for that to happen so that they would be able to buy or reinvest. You never know when will the price dumps like that and since we are all talking about $100K now, for sure, they are all waiting for that window, for that chance to reinvest.

I think more and more companies/corporations would invest and follow Tesla so it is the best time to hold your bitcoin.
Most, I mean, those who sell their Bitcoin earlier will do asking for the Bullrun to stop and reinvest again. It is kinda ridiculous but that is the reality now.

It is not guaranteed for the market to reach $100k but it close to the possibility that it has a huge correction someday. Those people wanting to get back in crypto for a cheaper price will have to keep an eye on the market coz that's still unpredictable. But, they should have to wait quite long as the current momentum still never changes.

If that huge correction will happen, then I think it will happen for a short period of time. That kind of correction will be the ones that these people are hoping to happen. It is their chance to be able to reinvest or buy bitcoin since we will never know when will that kind of correction happens.

They should really keep their eyes on the market price. Bitcoin is so volatile nowadays and they might miss some huge opportunities.
57  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should I sell or hold on my bitcoin? on: February 17, 2021, 01:49:22 PM
With the price getting better now, it is obviously good to hold your bitcoins but that doesn't mean that you can't sell either. Timing is one of the best ways for you to do both. There are times that we actually needed money and I've been there, we've all been there.

If you have nothing to do with that funds though, better keep on holding it. $50K is just around the corner. We are getting close.

59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin before and now on: February 16, 2021, 03:07:18 PM
The surge that we experience has nothing to do with these institutions being interested in blockchain at all. Most of them are interested that bitcoin holds in the future that is why more and more investors and companies/corporations are trying to get a hold of their own bitcoins. That is why it is getting more and more popular and in demand.

More and more adoption will happen and we need to peel our eyes open and be patient waiting for that time. Adoption and global transactions happening every single day, I don't know if the blockchain is ready for that though.
As we are expecting this to happen. Imagining for how long that Bitcoin is on the market, for more than a decade but somehow, we are still far from a 100% market adoption. If we can see this time that many companies are into crypto now, purchasing Bitcoin is that because they are preparing for the incoming changes and these are signs that we are almost reaching our goal to considerably become a currency, not just only for investment.

As this sentiment continues, uprising demand will be likely to expect in the coming days and for the next halving event.

I am not expecting that 100% market adoption, all I want is for bitcoin to be adopted by a lot of people, businesses, and platforms for the people to know it better. We can't have that 100% but we can push the adoption of bitcoin and other crypto currencies to its limit. As more people know about bitcoin, since more and more companies/corporations are having their eyes on it, for sure we are looking for another surge.

$50K is so close and it might attract more investors in the near future.
60  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao offered $10 million to fight Terence Crawford on: February 16, 2021, 03:02:41 PM
Another challenge for Manny Pacquiao. It's been a while since his last fight and as far as I know, that is against Keith Thurman. I don't know how many boxers Manny Pacquiao defeated that have records of undefeated, this might add to that list and another great fight since we all know how Manny Pacquiao is aging.

We don't know how will Manny be affected by his aging age.

No article shows about the records on how many undefeated boxer defeated by pacman and I don't  have time to count it, as Pacquaio shows some good physique I'm sure he can still win this fight since and the one I wonder right now is how many round will this fight last since if this bout will last until 12 rounds I don't know if Pacquaio have a stamina since as we said he's aging now  and provably stamina will be his problem in this fight.

Terence Crawford is one of those explosive boxers in this new era and I think it will be a blow-for-blow fight so it might end earlier than we expected. Manny is known to an offensive boxer so Crawford might hold to counter those punches and seeing his past performances, I think if Manny makes a mistake here he might knock Manny out.

I am not saying that this is a sure win for Terence Crawford, all I am saying is that these two boxers are amazing and with their powerful punches, this match could end quickly.
