1021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Physical Casinos Decoded : on: June 19, 2020, 11:10:43 PM
Reading these makes me a bit of luck not gambling in a casino since that would really make a bad loss if that happens. Still, knowing these can really other people from being a victim. I guess it is far better if people are actually playing online. Not just because of the pandemic that is happening but also because of this things.
1022  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CORONAVIRUS IMPACT ON SPORTS GAMBLING on: June 19, 2020, 10:42:37 PM
Fans will also understand that the gathering has been banned to this day. So do not force them and may even suspend sports events again if they do not comply. Let's just say that even before the virus is over, they are already watching live games via streaming ... Let's take care of that first.

I guess it is enough for them to be able to watch again live games of their favorite team or favorite players. It is much better like this than not watching them at all. I hope we can all see NBA games in July so we will be able to bet on it again. Another thing is that they should be able to be ready with the protocols for that so they would be safe.
1023  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "NEW NORMAL" Betting on: June 19, 2020, 01:14:45 PM

From my point of view, people who started to gamble in casinos in the middle of the pandemic don't really care about the virus because most people assume that the virus is just an exaggeration, that is why they continue to go to public places even there are lockdowns. Online casinos or crypto casinos is really the safest way to play because you can avoid making physical contact and social distancing, so we should really stay inside our homes for our family safety.

Still, I don't think they can do that since as far as I know casinos are closed during the pandemic. I don't think they wouldn't be able to gamble at casinos while it is closed. Another thing is that most of the officials here are so strict. They would be able to gamble online but we can't say that they are ignorant with the pandemic, they can do it, they can afford it, let them. We have our own ways of entertaining ourselves. It is their choice.

gambling here are active too but they keep it a secret because its still against on the rules and they can get on serious trouble if they got discovered gambling during pandemic season . its a double risk for gamblers , if im with them i will just stay at home and play online gambling instead . @kong hey , its true  . many people thinks that corona is fake and media are only hyping it  but how can they explain the death tolls ?  do they mean those people are fake too and those people really died for other diseases ?

I think I can understand that. If you think of it, I know for sure that we have that fair share of doing something against the rules or against the protocols during the pandemic, that is how we are. It may be that not that big but still, we went against it. I think it is better for these gamblers to gamble with their friends rather than in a casino, if we are still talking in mid-May but right now, I guess it is fine.
1024  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is bitcoin worth so much ? on: June 19, 2020, 12:14:20 AM
I think it is the people. People wanted to earn from it. They kept investing on it despite the falls or the dump. They kept on coming back with the hope of having a profit from it or using it to their convenience. Whatever they're reasons is, without us investors and users, I don't think Bitcoin will be having these kind of price, this kind of value in the long run.
1025  Economy / Economics / Re: How long this crisis will be? on: June 19, 2020, 12:00:08 AM
This crisis made the world economy collapse, maybe after the vaccine was found it took about less than 1 year to make everything stable. after it recovers we don't know what will happen next to the world, it will be better or another virus will come Roll Eyes

Well, let's hope that not another virus will be coming. We can't afford another pandemic if that will happen. Countries are trying so much to keep their citizens safe and well-fed. Jobs are starting to continue and we just hope that it will slowly go back to normal before the vaccine has ever found. All we can do is to follow protocols and do what we can do in this pandemic.
1026  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading in India is on fire on: June 18, 2020, 10:47:10 PM
If this continues, with the way Indian's are going about bitcoin trading. The Indian market is likely to hold a great potential and importance for the future of the crypto economy. Since people in India is betting big on bitcoin

We don't know about that yet but all we know is that it is flourishing in their country. Not being a party pooper here but I've read a thread that there is a rumour about India banning bitcoin again in the country. Reading the OP, I hope this will not happen. India might be one of the countries where bitcoin mostly circulate and being used. That could attract users there and that also means tourists for them.
1027  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Safe with bitcoin? on: June 18, 2020, 08:50:03 PM
Bitcoin is an experimental new currency that is in active development. Each improvement makes Bitcoin more appealing but also reveals new challenges as Bitcoin adoption grows thats why bitcoin is safe Wink

Your words are countering each other. You said that it is an experimental new currency but also said that it is safe. In my opinion, it is not an experimental right now, it is not new either. Store of value or currency, thay depends on what you wanted it to be. Bitcoin is being developed to be adopted more, and we all hope it will be faster in the near future.

Well the lockdown was horrible to me per se but was able to quenched the hunger of gambling during the lockdown. I wen into virtual sports betting and was doing this until recently when some games opened for public and some which we're expecting to resume back fully soon. This virtual sports betting is the reason why I love Naija bet among others, during the lockdown I couldn't get bored because of this virtual games which was also a source of help for me even though I sometimes lost to them. The bottom line is: I wasn't bored during the lockdown.

Well, there are those that isn't bored, there are those that is bored. Some are continuing their jobs at their homes while others are not doing something in their houses. Either way, online betting can be a good thing though the bets we can do are limited since sports are cancelled or postponed. Some learned to bet on esports.

With sports events all cancelled from past 3 months definitely it has taken a big hit since many of us here are sports enthusiast and would be following some or the other sports and some out of them would be event betting on them. Online is going to be or just becoming the new normal now since things still does not look good in many countries as cases are completely rising than the previous days.

Some are still scared to go to casinos but now that casinos are opened, there are still a lot of people that go there. I don't have any information about our land-based casinos but POGOs are been working for a while now. Still, I do agree that online betting is far better and safer right now. I am not that addicted to go to a land-based casinos just to gamble.

For the people in this community that understand spanish, I wanted to share this video I created yesterday comparing the current situation with the different crisis we had in the last 100 years.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rs5Yyvih14M&list=PLz_NVO61eqw70kA4Z9z854OoyibpDpOuq&index=2

Do you think it will be uglier than the others?

All feedback is welcome to keep improving!:)

I really think that as far as we do not have a legit vaccine in place, then there is no healing that's going to happen. Hopefully, Im wrong and we get an alternative solution.

Luckily you are wrong, in terms of a country.

This might be incomparable to what you are saying but New Zealand din't have any cases now. It appears that if you really know what you are doing and people actually follows the knowledgeable ones, it will end quickly and until now they still don't have a case.

This might be the case for New Zealand but that doesn't mean that it would be the same with other countries. There are those countries that governments don't know what should they prioritize. I am not saying that it is in the negative way, no. They want to help but they want ro help so much that they don't know what to give and what the people really needs.
1032  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible to live without banks? on: June 13, 2020, 01:46:45 PM
I think that if there are no banks in the world, those peoplr lle who are really wealthy will have a huge chunk of money from everyone. There is a chance also that we will gwt back to barter system.

If that is the case, I would gladly go back to the barter system. It is the start of trading in our country, I would like to do that since we will be able to exchange what we have to what we want and that is the good thing than exchanging things with papers numbered and manufactured by the government, we cant live without banks but we can still go back to that.
1033  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Safe with bitcoin? on: June 12, 2020, 11:59:44 PM
Well, I must believe so...Like in real life, your wallet must be secured. Bitcoin makes it possible to transfer value anywhere in a very easy way and it allows you to be in control of your money. Such great features also come with great security concerns. At the same time, Bitcoin can provide very high levels of security if used correctly.

It is great for bitcoin to be transferred anywhere quickly, right? The problem that we have is the acceptability of it. I did use some of my bitcoins in the pandemic since I will never be able to get out that easily and I did that through an exchange. It is true that in a way I can use my bitcoins but the thing is that I want to directly transfer it to someone or a platform that accepts it.
1034  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One mistake and l have lost all bitcoin on: June 12, 2020, 11:29:45 PM
All of us are on the same platform and the difference we had is the experience and the knowledge we accumulated through the years. OP had his fair share of mistakes and it will happen to other people but not to take them down but to hit them so they could learn and hit back stronger. Don't be that down OP, you learned something at the expense of you bitcoins, I hope you'll use that knowledge to stand.
1035  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial Crisis Will Come on: June 12, 2020, 10:31:51 PM
So while we are still in financial crisis, we need to find alternatives where to get our financial and everyday needs. If we will wait for government assistance or vaccine to be commercially available, that would be tough for those families with kids. If you have a small garden, you can optimize it to grow some vegies so as not to buy from the market. You can also barter items from your neighbours, or look for online jobs that will earn even a lil bit of income.

I'm actually surprised that there aren't that many open communities, wherein people grow their own veggies and exchange their leftovers for other veggies.

Actually, there is this trading that is happening in our country and they don't use fiat but they use things they think have the same value as the thing you are offering to trade. It is this group in facebook they call Bacolo Barter Community where you look at the things you want and you offer them things you think in value with what they are offering. https://youtu.be/wVFVDl34_Ac (the video is in tagalog though)
1036  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are your recommended ways of gambling. on: June 12, 2020, 11:42:38 AM
Choose the type of gamble you know, the type of gamble you have a passion for, even if you lose it you know you enjoy it. If you want to use a mindset or a strategy for playing, then choose card games like poker. But my favorite of all gambling games was bingo even when I was young, I had fun. I just really love this game. Although we say that winning depends on luck, it still depends on how you mark your card and how attentive you are to Bingo.
Spending your money to a game you enjoy with is like playing for fun and not after money, its a good point for me. If you want to gamble for long period then you have to think of games that you most enjoy and you have knowledge how to maximize your chances to win. Plus you need to set a capital that is not meant for important needs, learn to control and have discipline about the money you will use for gambling.

It is better for all of us to just enjoy some time to gamble but not for a long period of time.

You may be enjoying the game but that wasn't always a good thing since there are those times where my friends get drunk and despite not addicted to gambling, they still lose their money. I guess discipline is really necessary for us to be able to save our money from gambling. If you want just entertainment, make sure you can take losses, make sure you can afford it.
I hope we have a mindset like this, this is a good way to avoid addiction, and a lot of money loses. If the intent of gambling is for entertainment, make sure that you'll enjoy it and no hard feelings when you lose the game that will make you play again to win back your money. I really don't recommend playing gambling as one of the ways to earn money, it's not practical and has a lot of risks. We all need discipline and the right thinking so we can avoid this loses 'cause money isn't the only one that will lose if you're already addicted on gambling.

I hope that people are actually thinking about this. People are so stuck with gambling giving them easy ways to earn money and not minding the risks involved in the process. While they may be depending on the luck that they have, they are risking their money that they could use in other things like their children's education. Just like @Janation said, I hope gamblers could actually afford losing.
1037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PAGCOR waiting for the approval to reopen land-based casinos. on: June 12, 2020, 01:26:05 AM
The Philippines has been doing quarantine for too long, and as a result the Philippines economy has gotten worse. Because citizens can't
work and some businesses must be closed. Therefore, it's best to give permission reopen land based casinos by the Philippine government,
with the provision of running the COVID19 protocol, of course. And not only land-based casinos are given permission to open back, but all
the shops, offices, factories, sports and so on. That way the economy can recover.

I do agree that this will happen and it would also help the crumbling economy. I do think that the situation is still not that great, for it is still risky but we should also consider those people struggling in this pandemic. Some shops are also functioning right now and I guess they are just slowly opening the country to those normal days. They can't just open it hastily though since there are still cases of Covid-19 here in our country.
1038  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Again, another renowned exchange went offline... on: June 11, 2020, 11:25:16 PM
We also have a similar local cryptocurrency exchange that holds bitcoin and several altcoin wallet. Unfortunately, when bitcoin price soar, there is always a frequent maintenance on their side which results to having difficulty of bitcoin to altcoin or crypto to fiat exchange and vice versa.

What do you expect from having these type of businesses? We're dealing with crypto and manipulation is not surprising. Leaving only a small amount of crypto on day to day transaction is still the best practice to avoid such kind of fraud.

I don't know why but I think we are using that same local crypto currency since I've been so mad with the local exchange I am using since I've been needing the money to buy some essentials during the quarantine. It is continuous maintenance and it is really like that they are doing it on purpose. They really are a greedy bunch.
1039  Economy / Economics / Re: Does Currency Value Falls During Recession? on: June 11, 2020, 10:22:59 PM
Price of fiat doesn't fall due to recession but if governments decided to float the market by printing more money the inflation will results in the value drop.Cash is the kind until the market is in bearish mode but if you keep hoarding your cash for too long it will be loss for you, so keep cash when asset prices falling then buy immediately when it reaches bottom.

Yes, fiat are not that affected but nowadays, cryptocurrencies are much necessary and being prioritized by people because of its improvement in advertisement. As the market have no activities-related to cryptocurrency, bitcoins will really become less useful in transactions instead people will just hold it and wait for the increase in its price.

People are really knowledgeable and intelligent enough depending on the situation where they will benefit their assets completely. In terms of government, I know that they are only prioritizing the use of fiat because most of the people in the community are still ignorant about how market moves and they don't care about the recession, they just earn and spend their money and that's it.

The government will always want their people to use fiat for any transaction then only they can make tax from it but individuals with some IQ level will try to reduce the taxes in many ways to keep their earning with themselves.People are not ignorant but this wan intentionally hidden from human kind of purpose that is why still people doesn't know how money works.

As they said it, it is the most liquid asset. Without the push of the government, people will continue to use fiat since it is the natural way of getting their essentials or their necesseities in their lives. You could use bitcoin or other currencies but the easiest one is by paying them fiat. When it comes to taxes, it is already added to it when you buy it, there is no way you could run from it unless it is income taxation of some sorts where the people themselves calculate the taxes they needed to pay.
1040  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin can never become a currency. Part 1: scarce supply. on: June 11, 2020, 09:23:18 PM
Why are we talking about scarcity about bitcoin when theres are a lot of it and it is even divided into parts. Maybe they are thinking that the price will be stagnant while the demand is increasing and users are blowing up? As users blow up, obviously the value goes up. That also means that the value of bitcoin with its every devidend will blow up too.
