821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Casinos Scared of Lawsuits on: August 13, 2020, 11:21:06 PM
Sadly, the government is always going ot be responsible. This is why it shouldn't be permitted to open while there is yet pandemic.

There was a news that the casinos in las vegas aren't earning though. People might not really be going to casinos because of the pandemic, we all are aware the posibility of getting covid virus in the crowded place and casinos are assumed to be where people go.

I don't think that is always right, it is just that we can't accept that we also have the mistakes. Like, for example there are a lot of people that are forcing themselves to gamble in these casinos instead of doing it online which makes themselves close to the virus and being contaminated and then they will be blaming these casinos for that. They aren't earning enough but still, they are earning and that means a lot of people are still going in there.
822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the need to increase BTC's max supply arise in the future? on: August 13, 2020, 10:43:34 PM
IMO, I don't think that is necessary. Since we are talking about the future and talking about the supply, I guess a lot of people are actually using it. That also means the demand is higher making the value of it high so I agree that we should just maybe introduce another denomination or maybe we should't think of that at all since Satoshi might be enough denomination for that.
823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin so unstable? on: August 13, 2020, 10:00:12 PM
Gold is being used as a reserve of the countries, the potential of it increasing is so high. Bitcoin is decentralized, and that is the reason why it is volatile. We investors and users are the ones that control the movement of the price of bitcoin, without anyone controlling it, our every move in the market ripples making an effect to the price.
824  Economy / Economics / Re: You want to become a millionaire, here is the secret formula on: August 13, 2020, 02:42:46 PM
Obviously people thought of this already and it is not that easy. The first thing we should know is that not all of us have that capital to start selling a million products. If we have then we are already a millionaire. Another thing is that selling that would take time, not the same people would buy it. This is doable, yes but still, it will not be that easy especially if you are just starting.
825  Economy / Economics / Re: Some chinese guy bought most expensive face mask in the world $1.5 million. on: August 13, 2020, 01:56:06 PM
That’s how some of the crazy rich do with their money, they always wanted to be different among the rest but if its a politician who owns it then it will be a different story. We cannot easily justify the purpose of the owner of that mask, the piece could also be consider an investment since everything thats made of gold and diamonds is an easy sell.

Its easily saleable but only will be worth more for gold if the gold prices continue to rise or which is at present levels is also high. So, if the prices falls then it will be loss to the owner and also there are making charges being involved which will get reduce while time of selling. So, might not be a worthy investment for me.

That is another way of looking it. We are talking about a mask with 18-karat gold encrusted with 3,600 white and black diamond, it may be an asset but if we will be basing what Mr Isaac Levy said,

Quote
"Money maybe doesn't buy everything, but if it can buy a very expensive Covid-19 mask and the guy wants to wear it and walk around and get the attention, he should be happy with that."

That means he wants to use it and not just as an asset which he will sell. Either way, if I will be the one asked for this, I will not buy this.Maybe I'll just reinvest in some good crypto currencies in the market especially bitcoin. That is my opinion though since as Mr. Levy said in the end, they will just find another guys to buy a more expensive mask means this is like a competition to them.
826  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots are better than Dice. on: August 13, 2020, 01:23:30 PM
And that is what we like.

We like simpler mechanics. Dice just gave us two options, High and low, that is just a 50-50 unlike Slots. That also gives us higher chance of winning. Also I like simpler games and I can just gamble faster.

And not all of us like simple mechanics. I also like the higher possibility of winning in my gambling acvtivities but I doesn't exclude games like slots and other games. I do play dice but I also play slots which is also entertaining. With the higher money you bet you can also increase your chance in slots, and in slots you can see the jackpot while the chance in dice in hitting a triple number is quite impossible.

Slots are better than dice and dice is better than slots, that would always be the case.

And I didn't say all of us like that.

I am saying my side on this, I am not saying that all of us are like that. I can't just lie and tell that I love slots, it is entertaining, yes but it is not the kind of game for me. I do agree that we have our own sides here and this is mine. I don't hate those people that love slots, we are all gamblers here and we are all in the same platform.

Well, I am not actually saying it like that. What I wanted to really say here is that what we might say here, there will always be a another that will defend the other. There will always be an answer to what you will say since not all of us are like you that love that simple mechanics in gambling or in games. What I am saying is that we have our own sides about this. That's all.
827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Casinos Scared of Lawsuits on: August 12, 2020, 01:28:31 PM
They have to protect themselves and their business. Can't blame them and we can say that they shouldn't been open instead of asking the law makers to create a law that will protect them.

Being them as business owners, if you're making big bucks, you'll do everything just to keep your operations continue. And on their end, they want to clean themselves if ever there will be infection that happens on their business premises.
Every business is contributing towards a country's revenue generation so for both end it should be convenient or else the business will be in loss.Well it is important for the casinos to ensure their customers safety but also government should give enough funding to make this happen.

I don't understand that since they can operate and at the same time, adjust in this pandemic and ensure the customer's safety without the help of the government. What will they fund? Alcohols? I don't think they needed funding to that, if the government will be helping anyone, it will not be the businesses but the workers that are so affected by these pandemic. They are risking themselves to earn some money during these hard times.
828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What makes a good bettor? on: August 12, 2020, 11:46:57 AM
I think it is difficult to hold on to our winnings for a long time because we cannot always have luck in the gambling games.

Holding on to our winnings will not be decided by how lucky we are, that will fall down to how you will be able to control yourself from gambling and how much you will be gambling after you win. If you don't want to lose it or maybe use it into something else, it will not be a problem if you can control yourself. I guess discipline will also fall here.
829  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What bitcoin adoption really is. on: August 12, 2020, 10:35:32 AM
I guess I would say that it is adopted if we are not really asking questions like this. We don't ask whether people actually know bitcoin or anything like that, it is accepted by anyone and any stores in the world no questions asked.
830  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a Fake Bitcoin? on: August 12, 2020, 09:50:59 AM
Yes.

It's called Bitcoin Cash.

Smiley

Another one is Bitcoin Satoshi Vision.
I'm thinking about it.How come that coin with the first name bitcoin is already a fake bitcoin? It means in crypto space it's easy to identify the real and fake bitcoin.Because in fiat money Fake money is almost the same with the original one that's why sometimes it's difficult to identify it fast. I think those fork coin are not really fake bitcoin because they have separate systems which does not interact with Bitcoin instead the creator of that put that name just to make sure that their coin will also known and can attract people because they have a bitcoin name at first. It's just like a marketing strategy.Well, whatever it is, for me there is only one Bitcoin (BTC) in crypto world.

We can identify them as a fake bitcoin because they think they it is the real bitcoin. They are saying that the bitcoin that we are using and holding right now is not the plan or the visual of the creator of it, Satoshi Nakamoto. The reason there are a lot of these altcoins saying they are the real bitcoin, but they aren't. They are not separated, they are forked from bitcoin.
831  Economy / Economics / Re: Some chinese guy bought most expensive face mask in the world $1.5 million. on: August 11, 2020, 11:38:57 PM
That millions of dollars will circulate and go under those people that either work for him or those people he wpuld help. We can't call this guy stupid or selfish since there are a lot of people living and even taking their life for granted because of these rich people. That is just the circle of life.
832  Economy / Economics / Re: Government+cryptocurrencies on: August 11, 2020, 01:41:23 PM
Countries with limited population as well as having good technology development have already begun to circulate their own cryptocurrency. I read about Switzerland and Korea having their own cryptocurrency. This isn't much into usage now, can expect increased usage in the near future. Another important thing is the taxation, it'll hard to tax every transaction which is also a reason for the delay of cryptocurrencies usage within the countries.

If they circulated their own crypto currency, I don't think that is a problem to them to levy a tax on it. You said it yourself, "their own crypto currency", meaning it is not a decentralized crypto, it is centralized. I don't know whether they are really using it right now or still in progress or in testing but if they did, I don't think there will be a problem.
833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots are better than Dice. on: August 10, 2020, 11:30:27 PM
I think that slots are way better than dice because of their payout structure. Lets say you are hunting 99x in dice, in this hunt you will not get paid if you hit 98x. But in slots things are different and you will get paid for every hit though you are aiming for jackpot.
I know that most of the slots pay like 80-92% of what goes into slots but still if you compare it with dice (specially hit and run method) it is more profitable in long run (although in long run you will eventually loose in both games because of house edge)
I want you to ponder upon this and please tell me how much I am right in this line of reasoning.
I still prefer dice game rather than slots first thing I don't know to see if they are fair or not? second I don't know I lose my funds in an instant but I like the animations when I win it's like I win a lot but it's really not.

Are you talking about dice or slots? Based on what you're saying is quite confusing whether you take dice as slots and slots as dice. Either way, you can't say that a dice site is fair without checking it. There are a lot of ways for you to check the site and you can look at this thread for it to be checked.

834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You have to prove that you can take the loss on: August 10, 2020, 10:55:39 PM
I think it is a good one but there is a loop hole in this and they forgot that this is online and people could just easily create multiple account and use fake I.D's to do the KYC.
But I like their idea on having a soft cap on every gambler it would help a lot for those problematic gambler I think it would lessen those who are already addicted to it,
But they also need the help of the people around them to cure their gambling addiction.

I thought this cap might be small but I don't think I would be doing what you've said. Its not worth it. The fact that you will be sending funds or bitcoins in that accounts would be really annoying to do and it is not worth my time finding informations to prove KYC I am legit, some doesn't even need one. Still, not worth it, I could use the fees I will be using on that to gamble in one account.
835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What makes a good bettor? on: August 10, 2020, 10:11:08 PM
A good bettor for me is if you really do know your bet, you studied, think, research on which team are you going to bet it's for sports betting ...

I agree on this and if that is a bettor whose been betting for a long time, there are these times that he doesn't need to analyze nor think of what team he will be betting on. That is because of the knowledge he has on thay game. He knows who is on that team and the opponent's team, he knows who will be playing and the skills they have.
836  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Casinos are open - end of the Pandemic era. on: August 09, 2020, 11:47:53 PM
when they are drunk or may feel depressed they do not pay attention to the surrounding conditions and do not pay attention to the protocols that should be followed because more and more people do not care about the spread of this virus, the more people are infected. I hope the government there can provide a strict statement to be able to suppress the spread of this disease.

Statements won't help here. It is already well known that a number of restrictive measures were useless, which means that other restrictive measures are also questioned in people's minds.
In a state of alcoholic intoxication, we are more inclined to break the rules, which means that if they are violated soberly, they will be violated 3 times more often when drunk.

That is why I am wondering why people are continuing to just drink in bars or maybe csinos' bars while they can just do it in their houses. If they will be risking theirselves in these places then they will send a complain about how these places are not following protocol, that is like finding a rock to hit yourself.
837  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Late Show with Stephen Colbert calls bitcoin a scam on: August 09, 2020, 11:07:23 PM
It is true that most of these scammers and hackers are using bitcoin but they can't just say that a bitcoin scam is anything related to bitcoin. Anyway, a lot of people are against it because of how people portray it as a scam but it keeps moving forward even without them. So let them think what it is, they'll be left out.
838  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter/Youtube Bitcoin Scams on: August 09, 2020, 10:09:06 PM
Start sharing these sites to educate other people about it. Not all of us are aware of these scams so in order to avoid it, we share these sites for them to be warned and never click it. It is how the community can do about these scams, educate one another. Another thing is just learning more about these scams by ourselves.
839  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You have to prove that you can take the loss on: August 09, 2020, 01:44:45 PM
This is insane, I never thought this would become a law, this is not gambler's friendly.
What they did is they want to limit including those gamblers who are responsible in what they are doing, come one, this is not good for the business TBH.

As far as I understood this would be valid for UK. Obviously the government found out that they have big problem with gambling addiction and they want to control it somehow. However, that doesn't mean that this will be successful solution and that will be accepted at first place. I guess it will not be easy to implement it

I think it is not that hard to implement knowing that these online casinos are already regulated. They could just look into papers and documents they have and check these sites for that. These might make gamblers change their sites into online casinos not based in UK, well, if they wanted to evade that.
840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Casinos Scared of Lawsuits on: August 09, 2020, 12:52:21 PM
They may be desperate to work since it is realy hard without a job right now but I guess they should be really responsible since this is one of the conditions for them to operate, they should really follow the protocols. Another thing is that we can say that both parties can be blamed since this is expected if you will be gambling in a casino.
