Putin  lost a lot of valuable time trying to appease West...alliance with China and India is much better choice

I think you have lived for too long in a country that let's you speak freely. I urge you to apply for RF citizenship - with your previous military experience you will have the chance to fully enjoy the advantages of an authoritarian regime in the front line, like many of the young unready and unwilling recruited soldiers.

We can't speek freely...noone can. We only differ about WHAT you can speak freely.

Yep just because you claim that all blackmail potential has been exhausted (during the third lowest demand month) we don't have any critical thinking and just totally believe you!
(26 September 2022) Germans call for Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline opening now that there's nothing to open tell me again how that's a benefit to Russia? I'm not even talking about hundreds of millions of m^2 of gas Russia lost there

NS2 was dead already. "Germans call for [...] opening" is bullshit, a few people protesting won't make that happen.

Let's say Putin decided to shut NS1 off in January. Would that change Germany's policies towards Ukraine or Russia? There is no indication that it would. That's what I mean by exhausted blackmail potential.

As for lost gas and whatnot... you're assuming that Putin is a rational actor, which he clearly is not. If he cared about Russia's economy he wouldn't have invaded Ukraine, or would have retreated when the crushing sanctions became evident. He will happily run the country into the ground to feed his imperial ego. Blowing up a pipeline, or like Russian propagandists now propose - blowing up gas tankers, underwater fiber cables, etc - to harm the "enemy" is small potatoes compared to the overall destructiveness of the regime, so your feigned outrage as to why we would even think that Russia could do this makes no sense.

So far Putin doesn't have to be much of a rational actor. Everything that has happened since the US/Ukraine puppet takeover has only made it easier for Russia to advance and become richer... starting with the sanctions, of course. And it all is pushing towards a Russia-China alliance, by accident(?), of course.

Just think what a Russia-China alliance would do... the country with the largest landmass getting together with the country with the biggest population... and all of them in the same basic neighborhood of the world, already.

Cool

Ohh what a clever idea, think so far this one takes the prize, following that logic instead of just turning the pipelines off, Russia should just start blowing all of them up, you know that'll really get the gas prices going up. You should've been more careful disclosing such ingenious ideas, now Qatar/Saudi Arabia/Iran/Venezuela might find out just how lucrative it can be to blow up their own most valuable pipelines! Ukraine is receiving aid from the rest of the world because they know what happens when a psycho gets away with invading another country.

That's false...I didn't see that happening when psycho got away with invading Iraq
Hell, even psycho could tell you that:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OMhOUG_VEU

Fun fact: Ukraine was one of main supporters of that psycho invading Iraq

Yesterday Putin announced the partial mobilization in Russia, he ordered the immediate call-up of 300,000 reservists, here is the video with English subtitles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7QqSYBUhmY

And also yesterday, after the announcement, this is what happened: https://www.facebook.com/ekhokavkaza/videos/856096158660048/

Do you see massive queues at the Russia-Georgia border? hahaha
Check google trends: https://trends.google.com/trends/trendingsearches/daily?geo=RU

Flights out of Russia sell out after Putin orders partial call-up - Reuters

Fun fact: all that happened in Ukraine way before it happened in Russia...Ukraine closed borders to prevent
men fleeing country (although those in Ferraris and various SUVs were fast enough, it closed mostly to
slow ones in Ladas and Fiats). It happened when Serbia attacked us in Croatia, and it happened
when USA declared draft during war in Vietnam
409  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: September 21, 2022, 08:22:39 PM
  • 1000+ people arrested in various anti-mobilization protests in Russia. Could this finally turn into real mass protests? Nah, doubtful. But getting arrested at a protest might be a way to avoid dying in Ukraine (probably need to kick a few police officers to make sure to get real criminal charges).
  • Long lines reported at border crossings from Russia to Finland, Georgia, Kazakhstan. Some other countries like Estonia and Latvia already closed their borders.
  • Flight tickets sold out to the few countries that still accept airplanes from Russia.
  • In some regions mobilization will take place at police checkpoints on roads and other public places. Not clear if they'll come breaking doors to people's homes but this is Putin's Russia so why not.

That sucks for Russians, they can't easily flee from mobilization to Canada, like Americans did
410  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: September 21, 2022, 07:17:32 PM
Is that a process where you elect your representatives

Exactly.

toppled in colored coup if not favored by USA?

Unlike dictators, elected officials are supposed to have accountability, and may even be forced to resign if they try sketchy shit like passing authoritarian laws. If USA doesn't favor authoritarians that's probably a good thing but to each their own.

OK; so you're fine if USA topple other country presidents...why you then object if Russia try to topple Zelensky?
Or do you consider USA exceptional in some way? Why it was OK when Trudeau passed authoritarian laws?
He's right next to your border, it would be easy to send US army and replace him
411  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: September 21, 2022, 06:28:40 PM
Do they have the right to have pro-Russian president?

Yes. Have you heard of elections?

Is that a process where you elect your representatives, that then get toppled in colored coup if not favored by USA?
If so, yes, I heard

I guess Russia isn't a serious power than.

Currently, no, its not...and if they lose this war, they're done...and they're probably aware of that...and they have nukes
413  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: September 21, 2022, 04:47:43 PM

No, I'm talking about the war in Ukraine.

Putin wants Ukraine to be Russia.  That's what makes it an existential threat to Ukraine.  If Ukraine didn't fight, there would be no more independent Ukraine.  If Russia stopped fighting, there would be no more war - but Russia would still exist.

Putin fooled you.  He claimed there was an existential threat at the beginning of the war, when he thought he had the power to topple Zelenskys government,  to justify his decision to invade but the reality is if he wouldn't have invaded NATO wouldn't be expanding as quickly and Ukraine wouldn't be fast tracked to join the EU.  Do you really think Russias existence depends on whether or not Putin is able to annex a few regions in the South and East of Ukraine?  Because that's all that's left.  Use your brain.

Zbigniew Brzezinski: "without Ukraine, Russia ceases to be a serious power"
Since collapse of Soviet Union, USA played by Brzezinski words
414  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: September 21, 2022, 01:45:10 PM

Imagine that you live in a poor and corrupt country and Russia/Britain is going to capture your country, whom would you choose? Russian Empire or British Empire? I see America, Australia, New Zealand, UK. Brits captured these countries but they dramatically improved the quality of life there but Russians? Have a look at post-soviet countries: Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Armenia, Ukraine, etc.  They are still poor and corrupt, and soviet buildings look awful too. If there is an improvement in these countries right now, that's because of the western world.

I don't think you actually believe exterminated Maori, american natives and Aborigins agree with you

Ukraine hadn't been part of Russia for 20+ years at that point. They can do as they please, up to and including not having a pro-Russian president. Try to keep up.

Did you say the same when USA led cup ousted pro-Russian one? Do they have the right to have pro-Russian president?
415  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: September 21, 2022, 08:24:38 AM
for Russia the stakes are existential

No.  For Ukraine the stakes are existential.  Not Russia.

Russia is invading Ukraine.

You're talking about communist utopia kind of world.
In real world, there are only select few countries with UN veto power, and they play by different rules.
USA didn't see Russia as partner after collapse of Soviet Union, but as defeated side in cold war.
We're now looking at consequences, as Russia doesn't seem willing to play that role
416  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: September 21, 2022, 08:12:04 AM
Some people won't understand why Putin invaded Ukraine until it's in a coloring book and even then unless it's a woke coloring book it would be ignored.  It's really not hard to understand, but you must first come to grips with the idea that the USA doesn't always do everything fairly and we take actions on others we wouldn't tolerate in return.  Those blindly stuck in the brainwashed state that Joe Biden isn't running our country off a cliff will never understand.  They're too busy in defense mode and brainwashed to believe whatever lies they're told.

I think you're wrong about Biden...WW3 is is best opportunity for the USA to get rid of that 30+ trillion debt...well, maybe not
the best, but certainly the most simple one...better would be returning jobs from Asia to USA...but you can't expect
capitalists run against their holy grail of maximizing profits, can you?

Not really...to earn money from mining, price must go up, or hashrate/difficulty has to go down, simple as that
418  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: September 16, 2022, 06:32:02 AM
^^^ Since you jokers don't seem to realize what is happening, I'll break it down for you. It's quite simple.

Russia is being pushed beyond what she wants. The result will be world war. Ukraine will be the first to go.

Blab all you want. But that is what you can expect if there isn't something that intervenes to stop Russia. So far there isn't anything that can intervene.

Xi, Putin meet in Uzbekistan as Ukraine war dominates

Isn't it obvious USA/UK pushing for it for at least 10 years? I wonder how Germans can fall for it 3rd time in 100 years.
After all, its easiest way to erase that (30+ trillion USD, lol) laughably enormous and unpayable debt

You do realize that it's possible to defend a country without calling for mass murders of all collaborators (in a country without capital punishment) right? In fact, thankfully, I don't see anyone besides af_newbie calling for that.

And that's where we fundamentally disagree, i see this conflict as a done deal, so I'm concerning myself with what comes after it, and I'm not seeing many good options. Majority of scenarios push Russia and China uncomfortably close together. I am not a fan of China or communism in it's current implementation. This would be a terrible outcome for everyone in the free world, so I'm dumbfounded why US tried to snatch UA out of RU sphere of influence with soft power and their freedom cookies. The outcome for EU is pretty gloom, and it's hard to believe that it's coincidental

Anglosaxons  cheer dead Slavs, no matter if Ukrainians or Russians...thats why this war is so unfortunate
