401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Quick profit is the only reason why we invest in Altcoins on: February 19, 2024, 05:11:48 AM
Investing in Altcoins had been what so many invested have been looking at these period. Believing that bitcoin's bull run will surely influence the price of the altcoins and hive them massive gains. Literally if bitcoin rises altcoins follow suit but this is the only reason i see that makes potential investors to invest in Bitcoin. There is no other interest as they feel its unsafe to store value or wealth, cant be used for p2p transactions and it cant be trusted to hodl for long. If you think there is any other reasons that makes investors put their money in altcoins feel free to share. I would love to know.
Well some altcoin holders love the platform they are using like for example on gaming but we cant deny that mosr or majority of altcoin holders are after profits. What other reason could it be if its not for gains? But some prefer to use the blockchain to enhance their wants or needs on their gaming apetite like some spend really for blockchain coins to use for in game items or anything that upgrades inside the game.
402  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide] Spot And Avoid Some of the Common Crypto Scams. on: February 19, 2024, 03:39:37 AM
Using 2FA might protect you from hackers to hack steal your coins from your exchange account that you are using  to trade but not useful to avoid phishing attack. Also using different browser can not help you to avoid phishing attack. Just know how to know the phishing attack emails and messages generally and do not open the phishing emails and messages. They are easy to know and avoid.
I get it that 2fa is helping on protection from possible hack but why more browser cant help on avoiding such phishing? I am using different browser and so far and luckily Im not been penetrated by such attacks. What do you think aside from exposing your address to those spammy email might better do to reduce that, sometimes even an inactive email got a message of spam.
403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Seeking Advice ‼️ on: February 19, 2024, 02:55:05 AM
Hey everyone! I've got $1000 to invest before the next bull market kicks in. Should I spread it across five different coins or go all in on just one? What are your top picks for either strategy?
Well you can split it into more tokens or coins so that you would have more chances of winning. Its not like they gotta all pump when bull run happened and it will depend on the tokens youll invest with. $1k is good amount for investment but make sure thats your extra money only and not the one you need cause you arent sure if its gonna be worth or worse you lose.
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Rise of Blockchain Gaming on: February 18, 2024, 10:21:00 PM
The traditional gaming industry took a loss in the last year so they were looking for a breathing space for the industry. Online gaming is already a big industry and heavily centralized, but the use of web3 will make it easier for gamers and creators to distribute revenue to the whole industry rather than some top players. There are a lot of ways blockchain gaming boosted the the two respective industry and i think web3 gaming is the future of gamefi and the online gamers.
Probably due to the p2e games that launches during rhe pandemic and people need some sort of cash and the idea of play to earn was born. Of course some players will likely to play game based on their nature but with the compensation they could get from playing? Of course thats a done deal. This somehow shifted some gamers to those kind. So blockchain gaming is indeed got a future, but some hate it due to ruining the traditional games perspective.
405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is investing in altcoin futures a good idea? on: February 18, 2024, 05:34:10 PM
I asked out of curiosity, I have studied and analyzed graphs and done some experiments...some go well...others don't...but I have always gained more than I lost. My problem with investing in bitcoin and waiting is that I don't have enough capital to actually become profitable by waiting several years.
Well theres really none accurate prediction when it comes to market output. Evem professional sometimes got mistake or wrong results during the process. If you dont have a capital then how can you invest on such coin lile bitcoin. Its necessary to have funds when you want something to start with crypto. Maybe you could try to earn some but its not that easy to gain out of free capital.
406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your view and your opinion about Ethereum? on: February 18, 2024, 03:10:23 PM
I dont see eth price going down anytime sooner. Lsdefi are spreading like virus and eth plays a major role in the likes of community. Why? The demand for eth is big since community wanted to participate to what a project can offer through that leaving eth become more deeply hold or stake. Like in the case of eigenlayer, that holds a lot of synthetic eth equiavlent for points. A purely marketing with the intetion of you to hold on theri wallets if can.
407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto White Paper on: February 18, 2024, 01:22:48 PM
Do you think Bitcoin has gone against Satoshi Nakamoto’s original intentions and embarked on a non-decentralized path?
Not necessarily gone but with some intervention from other sector people who wanted to control bitcoin, somehow they wanna manage it or regulate it. However since no one can stop this, the big answer is still no. Yes on trading there are some who are buying and selling it as investment purposes but the users can able to use bitcoin freely within decentralized space as long as they want. I doubt this will be centralized or handle even in years as Satoshi makes sure of that.
408  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What significant impact is expected of new members of the forum? on: February 18, 2024, 09:48:57 AM
but I want to know how I can impact the forum, what core values does the bitcoin talk community needs? Or is it impacting knowledge here only specific to a certain caliber of people or higher ranking members?
Doesnt mean that forum needs like a professional or with a significant background about some preferred topics. Forum needa users tha were able to communicate well and share ideas that can be somehow helpful or new things that can be discuss thoroughly here. I must say technical writing skills, ideas or topics that can help most users. You dont need to impress anyone with the topic discussion just be yourself and do natural posting.
409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which project/token inflicted your biggest loss? on: February 18, 2024, 05:12:20 AM
For me the fall of Luna since I am staking some ust stablecoin with huge apr% this gives a good rewards until everything fall apart. Now I realize that even top 7 that time on marketcap can also ruin your portfolio. Well lesson learned. Its not actually an altcoin since it should stay at stable price but sh*t happened and that will teach you a big lesson. Now Im more careful about trying to earn with passive one.
410  Other / Off-topic / Re: Relationship not marriage, a need to be careful with the information we share. on: February 17, 2024, 05:38:29 PM
Well thats pretty bad for the guy. But even though you are in a relationship with someone else unless you deeply knew the person you dont give her all access to something you knew that can compromise later on. Or yet to say if yourent ready to give it all or give up for marriage. Even the bitcoin and crypto assets arent or should be given not until you are sure and trust someone for that.
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Starknet airdrop February 20 on: February 17, 2024, 02:47:27 PM
I am not up to date with the airdrops field these days, but I participated in some of the following projects, and I hope that they will launch airdrops in the future. Whoever wants to participate can try his luck with zkSync, EigenLayer, Mocaverse, BeraChain, Shardeum, and NibiruChain.
I am doing zksync,  eigenlayer and nibiruchain from your list. I did shardeum too but only during testnet but not sure if Im gonna eligible for something or not. I think there will be a lots of airdrop to come. More on L2 you could also checkout ethena, puffer and mode these are quite new farming that has some kind of potential. I neglected berachain due to a huge volume of participants. It seems its gonna be really farmed hard and will get maybe peanut size tokens.
412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 'Who's Buying this Shit?', Episode #1: AXS on: February 17, 2024, 02:12:57 PM
Even now, as the bull run approaches, it seems unlikely that axie price will return to its previous all time high. Players may have lost interest in the game and might not return, especially with numerous new blockchain games emerging that havent experienced such a surge yet.
Most likely not. People are tired of the game and impossible rven they reduced the supply of slp. But what interesting on mavis or axie project is that they got ron blockchain that can be adopt by other play to earn or games out there. Like what happening on Pixels. Well at least they can still survive due to ron but regarding axs and slp Im not sure if they can still go back to that ATH or even touch it anymore.
413  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A Beginner's Guide to Understanding and Using Cryptocurrency on: February 17, 2024, 04:33:19 AM
Crypto currency is one thing I really don’t know about so well . Adding to this, I would like to be given guidelines basically on crypto currency, any link or information that could help would really be  appreciated for more detailed comprehension.

Frankly, when I say I am a newbie I really mean it in all way round concerning the forum and what’s along with it . I hope I could really get guidelines on this cryptocurrency
Well as starter since this is a bitcoin forum you need to study about bitcoin. A fellow member shared some links to some learning guide. For a newbie who doesnt really have some idea about crypto then the internet is your friend. If you are fond of learning through reading then just browse different topics here specifically on bitcoin discussion.

But if you like visuals then you can always use Youtube as reference to understand it more. Like search what is crypto, or what is bitcoin until your knowledge deepen.

But as a newbie here you might also add to your goal the rules and regulations here. Like familiarize with it.
414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My wealth plan in the next 3 years from today on: February 17, 2024, 02:45:59 AM
Its always one choice to pick and choose which altcoin they think best to profit from. Actually its a blue chip considering tron is a big project but with the current system now I think I'll prepare new tokens and new narrative platform. We dont know which trend will cause a hike in 3years but since youre set already for tron then go for it hope tron will remain one of the top coins.
415  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A little ignorance and you can lose all your holdings on: February 17, 2024, 02:00:57 AM
I came across the post on Reddit about a guy that took this hard drive that he stored his bitcoin to a data recovery specialist to fix it, who told him that his 276 bitcoin has been stolen, wait a minute how, his hard drive was bad and gave it to you to fix it and then you told him it was stolen.
So thats it? Maybe indeed its broken but isnt it a bit ironic to say its broken that eventually they only should fix the hard drive but they mentioned it was stolen how come they know that means they have been access to it? What a shit show if ever! Poor guy that they really probably stolen that.
416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Forecasting the areas that will receive cash flow in 2024 on: February 16, 2024, 03:14:21 PM
In addition, Modular Blockchain narrative has been mentioned quite a lot by large investment funds in their reports, so we should not ignore this narrative in 2024.
There are many other narratives such as AI, Bitcoin defi, Gamefi, LSD fi, RWA... But I will personally focus on the 3 main narratives above. How about you?
I guess the celestia hype is real narrative for the 2024 roadmap. Most of the projects that even do their platform has now been mentioning modular even though they arent really on the path but its not that hard to implement the tech though many can actually adopt it. Celestia will bring too many partnership and this will be a good narrative for them.
417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What causes altcoin season? on: February 16, 2024, 10:41:55 AM
It is a general believe in the cryptocurrency community that Bitcoin bull season is usually followed by altcoins season. I don't know the logic behind it hence the reason for this post. The present bull run seems to be dominated by Bitcoin and its already taking too long without corresponding rise in price among the notable altcoins.

So, should we also expect altcoin season following the current bull run? If yes, what are the best altcoins to focus on?
Normally it sequence like that. But to answer on which altcoins are gonna fired up during alt season is unknown. Well we may see another ATH for previous coins or tokens or not. But definitely its good to watch new tokens that never experience bull run yet. Maybe we can see some of them reaching a new ATH in the process.
418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: USA stockbroker & financial commentator predict that BTC will hit $100k on: February 16, 2024, 09:15:47 AM
Peter Schiff is one of the biggest Bitcoin doubters that exists. He’s been bashing Bitcoin for over a decade, it’s become a meme. Gold has barely moved in comparison to how well Bitcoin has performed since he has been publicly bashing it. If Peter Schiff is finally conceding that Bitcoin is going to 100k then in reality, it probably means we are going to 1 million $ per coin.
Well now whose shilling it. This proves that he is probably fudding before just to make a good entry price but now the wind has changed presumably he already got in somewhere and starting to whistle about bitcoin to pump the bag. Its not normal though but this space of crypto is affected by the rich people which eventually using their popularity or money to earn more. Well on the safe side if bitcoin could do $100k then a lot of people will rejoice on that.
419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which psychological stage of the crypto market are we in? on: February 15, 2024, 09:19:57 PM
but i think yes we are already in a bull market stage without halving yet.
i think in the halving day, the price will also shoot way higher and i often heard to term supercycle back in 2021, i think we are in it already. a bull market without halving is a supercycle.  Grin

I think this is just a mini bull. If we followed the sequence of the last bull run seasons. We knew that the real bull run started after the halving. So if we are at this level without that then we could expect a higher price for bitcoin after halving and in the real mega bull season. But if that means theres a change on the historical pattern made then theres a new narrative that will trigger a bull effect and Im will be thrill to know if this is not start with bitcoin itself.

Should this thread be on bitcoin discussion instead?
420  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Questions about perpetual trading on: February 15, 2024, 06:45:50 PM
Hi everyone,

I have 2 questions about perpetual trading:

1/ If I don't use leverage (i.e. x1) do I risk being liquidated if my trade doesn't go in the right direction?

2/ If I don't use leverage (i.e. x1) can I keep a BTC contract, how can I do this in the Spot market?

Thank you
Well that means you only using spot if you arent using leverage at all.  Not sure if theres a future trading that only uses 1x maybe still since you arr using that medium at all. You can long and short order while on spot only natural trading.

What you mean btc contract? Like using the btc as collateral for the trade right?
