What I am saying isn't that I believe the bible or not. It's just that some things make sense: like not killing people. This is a single example, that should be valid for believers and non believers as well. Christians or not.
402  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists hate Religion ? on: February 03, 2016, 01:48:34 PM
An important thing to remember is that the Bible is a collection of books, written by different people in different times addressing different needs of that time period.
I, personally think that if you are and want to be a good person, then you choose the good parts and leave the ones that are not good, or not useful for our modern age aside.

The death on the cross for Jesus was necessary. It shows us how greatly God loves us...

Say what?  Necessary?!?

God made the rules... he didn't have to make it necessary if he didn't want to... why murder your own son?

God could have waved his magic wand and forgiven sin without any need for bloodshed... necessary? ha!

God sacrifices himself, to himself, to serve as a loophole for a rule he created himself... seems legit...

Exactly. It is said that God knew everything from the beginning. Then why does he allow all this pain and suffering in the world? To prove a point?

God made animals. Mostly, they cannot think. If they can think, the best of them can only reason in very limited ways. When you act like you don't want the abilities of Godness, you are essentially saying that you would rather be an animal.

God isn't going to give us baby gods unlimited power and strength, just like you wouldn't give your 10-y-o kid the keys to your Rolls and say, "Have at it, kid."

Make your choice. Take your pick. Move into Godness with God the way He did it, or move into self-destruction. You have no other choice, no matter how you much grumble about it.

Smiley

Why isn't God giving us "baby gods" his attributes? Is He afraid of us? Or would he become jealous? Or He just wants all that power for himself? because amongst His attributes there is infinite knowledge, wisdom and love. That shouldn't be a threat for Him would it?
405  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your opinion of gun control? on: February 01, 2016, 03:49:12 PM
I'm not saying that people should not protect themselves. But at the same time protection doesn't have to come in the shape of a AK-47 when going to buy bread. I wouldn't go to that store again if I saw a customer like that again. You can protect yourself with mace, a tazer or any other type of non-lethal weapon. You need to get out safe of that harmful situation, not to permanently put the attacker into the ground. At least that's my opinion.
406  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people hate islam? on: February 01, 2016, 03:44:18 PM
We all know now that the 7/11 attacks were conjured up by Israel and the US and they needed a reason to get into Afghanistan and other Muslim countries. Because this news was spread throughout the world in seconds ppl believed it and it became stuck in their hearts.

My friend, the 7/11 conspiracy goes much deeper than you could imagine. If you read further and continue thinking for yourself, you will learn that Afhanistan and other Muslim countries were actually not invaded by Israel and the US as blowback for 7/11. All the news coverage about such invasions over the past 15 years have been transparent lies. In fact, Afghanistan and other Muslim countries conjured up such false flag invasions as a reason to send millions of "refugees" to Western lands. Why? Like all Muslims, the motives are of absolute purity: to finally bring peace to the Western lands -- the kind of peace that can only come from the acceptance of Islam. As has been known from the time of prophet Mohammed, true peace can only come when everyone proclaims the truth of Islam, and that those who deny this truth are silenced through the sword.

Thanks for speaking out and helping dispell the myths about 7/11. Major Bloomberg tried to keep this information quiet by restricted the size of Slurpees, but thanks to people like you, truth will escape.

So if a person is not Muslim, then that person is not a peaceful person?
Peace cannot exist without Islam?
Accept true peace through Islam or be silenced by the sword?!

Oh My God...

Everyday I hear more and more crazy things happening in these so called "civilized, first world countries". What is happening?! Are here any users from those countries to share their opinions about what's going on? I'd be very interested to see what they have to say.
408  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should Muslims be aloud to impose Sharia law anywhere in the United States? on: February 01, 2016, 03:37:09 PM
I have no idea what Sharia law is but sure, why not? Let's let muslims do whatever they want where ever they want it. Sure - what harm can come out of it? (said he quite worried, but still slightly amused)
409  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Revelation Prophecies: Global Citizens? NWO? JADE HELM 15= UWEX 16? CERN? on: February 01, 2016, 03:35:15 PM
On one hand all these conspiracies annoy me and makes me want to do something about it. On the other hand if I started to fight all these people that have all this free time would make me waste mine. The third thing to say is that maybe by doing this, it would make me famous and rich. Ah, the choices... What to do?
410  Other / Off-topic / Re: [CONFIRMED] Flat Earth on: February 01, 2016, 03:30:16 PM
B.o.B. is trying to make a name for himself and we're all helping him. It's not about the earth being flat. It's about him looking for publicity and fans - and it seems to be working. Good for him - might be not as stupid as people take him to be.
411  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your opinion of gun control? on: February 01, 2016, 03:25:52 PM
Looks like we need a lot more guns to protect ourselves from GOVERNMENT MURDERERS who murder us in the name of a government that doesn't allow murder. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1343452.msg13717719#msg13717719

So your solution is to get more guns and in turn to kill other people? Isn't that exactly the thing we want to avoid? Wouldn't that turn you into a murderer as well? I see no one here talking about non-lethal solutions. Why is that?
412  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The thing that will destroy Bitcoin. on: February 01, 2016, 03:24:17 PM
The thing that will destroy Bitcoins is simple. It will be the bloated size of the blockchain. Soon the blockchain will be so large, that we will need centralized "housing" to hold it. We will have to trust "Central" to state what is in the blockchain every time we want to use Bitcoin. And, this is the thing we are trying to get away from - centralization.

The blockchain is almost 70 gigabytes large right now. Imagine what it would be like if people around the world traded something like the Forex on it.

Someone better figure out a way to make it a whole lot smaller, and fast. Why fast? Because when fiat collapses, a lot of people will jump into Bitcoin. The blockchain will surge in size. In a short time it will be too large to use.

One solution that I can see would be to keep the current blockchain in total, on several servers around the world, including any person who thinks he has enough hard drive space to store it on, and enough bandwidth to handle all the transactions that hit Bitcoin at once. At the same time, implement a new kind of blockchain that keeps only a record of the first use of a new address, and, say, the last two uses of it. Everything else is deleted. This will be a reasonable solution, I think, until a better kind of blockchain can be developed.

What does anybody think about this?

What ideas do you have for overcoming this problem?

Smiley

Okay. From the comments we have more points. So far we have...

1. Blockchain size for storage and downloading;

2. Number of transactions causes impractical updating of the blockchain because of bandwidth limitations;

3. Impractical confirmation time without a fee;

4. Unreasonably long confirmation time even with a fee;

5, (more?).

Holding the blockchain on "several servers around the world" is exactly what we're trying to avoid here. It's the exact template the banks use. And, at the same time, that's the secret of bitcoin, of everyone having the opportunity to have the blockchain so no one manipulate it.
413  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists hate Religion ? on: February 01, 2016, 03:19:59 PM
All current religions have a "one god" theme. They're monotheistic to be precisely.

Someone I know once said: "I hope there really is a hell, because as bad as it could be, at least it would be way better to just dissappear as the flame of a candle into nothingness".
414  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price going back to $250??? on: February 01, 2016, 03:17:12 PM
Now way will it drop as low as 250$. If you have any evidence of that show it to us. If not please stop with these rumors, it doesn't to anyone any good.
415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: paypal or bitcoin? on: February 01, 2016, 03:14:56 PM
Paypal, at the moment, has an advantage on the market because it has the majority of customers, and that's why they believe they can do whatever they want. But bitcoin is starting to show it's clear advantages and will gain popularity.
416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I like bitcoin on: February 01, 2016, 03:11:29 PM
Bitcoin is a great way to buy things online, its also can make into extra income

and the fun things about bitcoin is, i can gambling using bitcoin from faucet

yeah and my opinion.  now i am working on the bitcoin because i don't have any job. i was thinking how can i earn money? one time i was visiting with my friend. he was given to a suggestion for bitcoin and he thought me everything about bitcoin and now i am earning some money by bitcoin.

I think you mean to say a friend taught you about bitcoins, not thought. Its really awesome to see people share bitcoins and the earning opportunities with friends and family. I am really happy for you.

Yes, that's good news that people are recommending to their friends and family and contributing in increasing the size of bitcoin community, and the best thing is that bitcoin have become a source of income for the people who are not employed.

No need to be a grammar nazi dude.

Agreed, it's a good idea to recommend bitcoin to family and friends. If not for anything else that just to make it more and more popular.
417  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why do you have Bitcoin? on: February 01, 2016, 03:08:53 PM
I have some bitcoins in order to diversify my money in different long term instruments to spread my risks, but actually I only will accumulate few bitcoins. Perhaps ten will be enough for me.

For me it's an investment too. I like to diversify my investments and yes bitcoin has quite some potential.
Sure there is no guarantee but what if it succeeds? Well then we will see new rich people.

The bitcoin already has proved itself to be successful so it's not a bad idea to invest in it. And, as always, never invest more than you can afford to lose.
418  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your trading strategy? on: February 01, 2016, 03:07:11 PM
Exactly.  Price drops occur, but it can be easily predictable when the price will rise again in order to sell. It's the easiest, most known method there is.
419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: February 01, 2016, 03:00:24 PM
There used to be mining but the way difficulty increase is behaving not to mention the upcoming halving, it's hardly a choice anymore.
I'm afraid that train left the station. Nowadays you would need a factory full of equipment to mine. Doesn't work so easy like in the good old days anymore.
420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: February 01, 2016, 02:59:11 PM
If the whole thing is predicated on AdSense then why not start a gossip blog and write about all the NonSense (pun intended) that celebrities do. You'd get more visitors that way.
