401  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: April 10, 2020, 01:03:12 PM
Hi,

Have a couple of questions.

1) Graphs. Are these only updated while you are looking at the page? I shutdown my desktop last night and this morning when I looked at my stats, the graph was not updated all night. I think this is the case. Checked a few other miners and they had no graph at all. However my hash numbers were all on point, so just seems like a graph issue.

2) Is this PPS or PPLNS? It is labeled as score based pplns, but even after disconnecting from the pool for near 24 hours, come back and still have tons of shares. Or is all the math figured out when a block is found? It would seem that if people can disconnect for 24+ hours and still have active shares, it would drastically reduce the payout for active miners. Especially since the rounds are so long.

Thanks!
Graphs only work from your browser so shutting it down you'll lose the graphs.

This is score based PPLNS but the Last N Shares is 5x current difficulty which at the current pool's hashrate is about 5 years, so the rounds are insanely long thanks to the ultra low hashrate...

125PH mining solo now. This makes a heck of a lot of sense with the block halving less than a month away now.

Good luck to everyone mining.

If you don't mind me asking what do we need for the share value of a found block? Sorry if that's a dumb question. I'm only at about 11 million atm, but am just wondering if it's a billion?
Google current bitcoin difficulty. It is currently almost 14 trillion.

406  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: April 04, 2020, 09:00:24 AM
Good to everyone.
I have been mining this pool for 4 months, and for a month, or since I surpassed a certain amount of Derb, my emoluments, do not drop as they had been until now, that is, every day I have a bite to the amount that I reached the previous day . No, it is not a figuration of mine, it is a reality that I have been observing day by day, it is impossible to give up.

Let's THINK RIGHT:
There is an error on the web and the amounts shown for Derp are not correct, which makes me think that this is a bungling (which is already the charge per year). This only fosters mistrust of what is done with our work.

Let's think BAD:
It is not entirely true that this pool is free, in fact once you overcome a certain amount of Derp we take small bites so that we do not appreciate what is being taken from us. I think that if you have to charge a certain commission, deciding it is enough, but let us know.

Maybe we want to be made to fall into laziness so that we leave out of boredom? And abandon our work of months for the benefit and fattening of "certain whales". In these times it is not wrong thinking.

At any rate, it does not give me any confidence that this is happening, I hope that you take me seriously, because I am not telling you this is not my appreciation, it is something that you can verify yourself.

Cheers
If it's not free, where do you think the fee is going? Are you implying I'm somehow stealing your hashes? Only miners get payouts, you can see that in every block solved since I dropped the fee a long time ago. This pool only costs me money to run. Payout mechanics are too complex for a human to model in their head, especially over such a long period with wildly fluctuating hashrates, numbers of miners, and changing difficulties.

Thanks for your support guys. Need some solo blocks to bring some smiles back to people in this bizarre world we're all now in. At least you can keep mining while being in quarantine.  Mine on. Smiley
408  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining USA/DE 255 blocks solved! on: April 02, 2020, 10:56:26 AM
we start a new 10PH/s rental today or latest tomorrow, so please keep the pool online  Grin
Good luck, and I had no intention of taking it down. All the changes happened without downtime anyway.

Mine on, and knock those blocks over before that halving!

http://solo.ckpool.org

No frills, no fuss 2% fee anonymous solo bitcoin mining for everyone

No registration required, no payment schemes no pool op wallets

Configuration:
Just point your miner to: stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 or port 443
If you use an incompatible rental service that refuses to work on port 3333 or need a high diff, try port 4334

Set your username to your btcaddress with any or even no worker extension, and any password.
eg: cgminer -o stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 -u 1PKN98VN2z5gwSGZvGKS2bj8aADZBkyhkZ.0 -p x
If you enter an invalid address you will be rejected
Blocks solved:
https://btc.com/stats/pool/Solo%20CK

Suitable for:
    Large mining farms
Regular miners struggling to recoup costs who wish to take extra risk for greater reward potential for part or all of their hashrate
The last backup for all miners who don't have a solo setup or wish to avoid the overheads of running one
Miners with old/inefficient miners that will never earn any rewards through regular mining that wish to leave it mining as a lottery

Proxy support:
Miners with many devices wishing to consolidate their devices into a single connection to solo ckpool are recommended to use the complementary ckpool code as ckproxy stratum proxy (for linux).
Ckpool code is available here: https://bitbucket.org/ckolivas/ckpool

Statistics:
Simple total pool statistics can be found at http://solo.ckpool.org/pool/
Solo.ckpool.org currently only displays minimal per user and per worker information based on btcaddress.
To access this, enter your BTC address at the end of: http://solo.ckpool.org/users/
or your workername at the end of: http://solo.ckpool.org/workers/

Advantages over regular solo mining:
Mining at solo.ckpool.org avoids the overheads of running a full bitcoin node that requires both great storage and bandwidth for optimal performance.
Solo.ckpool.org is extensively connected to high speed low latency bitcoin nodes for rapid block change notification and propagation.
Unlike regular pools, ckpool never mines transaction-free blocks due to its ultra-scaleable code which has miners on both new blocks and transactions concurrently.

How it works:
ckpool automatically takes your bitcoin address and gives you a unique stratum connection mining to your own address.
If you find a block, 98% of the block reward + transaction fees get generated directly at your bitcoin address!
There is no need to worry about passwords, logins, withdrawals, authentication or pool wallet hacks.
You remain anonymous apart from your btc address.
All you need to confirm you are mining to your own address is to examine the coinbase and template sent to you over stratum.
Note that if you do not find a block, you get no reward at all with solo mining.
2% goes to bc1q28kkr5hk4gnqe3evma6runjrd2pvqyp8fpwfzu to operate the pool and contribute to further ckpool code development.

FAQ
Q: Why isn't my miner showing up in the user stats?
A: The pool will only show up stats once it starts detecting shares are being returned. If your miner has a very small hashrate it could take hours, days, or even weeks to show up. You may be able to speed this up if your mining software supports the --suggest-diff option, by setting it to a lower value (1 is the lowest possible) but it has no influence on your chance of finding a block.
Hashrates below 1GH are not recommended to mine bitcoin as it is unrealistic they will ever find a block. Feel free to try them as a learning experience or proof of concept, but I highly recommend you don't thrash such devices and waste your time and energy.

Pool code:
The pool code actually run directly on the pool is all available under GPLV3 and can be used for setting up local solo mining.
Local solo mining is not recommended unless you have a high bandwidth low latency connection and optimised bitcoin daemon, however it is highly recommended as a final backup for any miner.
Get it here: https://bitbucket.org/ckolivas/ckpool-solo/src/solobtc/

Pool code and pool operated and created by Con Kolivas, creator of cgminer and ckpool.

I will keep trying to find a workaround that suits everyone.

Thanks CK I jumped  a V9 onto the pool seems to be ok it's picking up shares fine.    RIP 1 S3  for now Smiley
Configuration updated. Let's see if third time's a charm.

Okay thanks. The pool switches within 1 second to 1 million diff, but it appears to not even recognise that. That means I'll have to change the minimum diff across the pool to 500k as well. Will restart it shortly with that change. I apologise to all the smaller miners for doing this, but rentals are by far the bulk of the hashes hitting the pool now.
Configuration updated, please try again.

NiceHash is not working
I tried all ports (443,3333,4334)

PoolCheck from NiceHash side

Pool verification process is complete. Tested pool is incompatible!

Pool host solo.ckpool.org resolved to IP 45.59.68.74... OK

Selected mining algorithm: SHA256... OK
Sending mining subscribe request... OK
Sending login information... OK

In the unlikely event someone is on mainland china ONLY and wishes to mine solo, I've added two links to a passthrough to the solo pool:
Code:
cnsolo.ckpool.org:3333
cnsolo.ckpool.org:4334 For high diff/low bandwidth mining
418  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining USA/DE 255 blocks solved! on: April 01, 2020, 01:42:09 AM
I'll be restarting the pool shortly with some updates, with the 4334 port to return as a highdiff port, set to 1 million. Downtime should be minimal. Additionally, as I'd been planning for a while with the halving, the fee will unfortunately be increased to 2%.
Restart complete, along with the upgrades and a built-in high diff port that supports workername extensions and adds no latency or overhead to the pool. Miners who wish to try a rental please try it out.

yes i'm with you, i don't understand it with NiceHash, but NiceHash is in that game the biggest player.
If you can downgrade your pool to latest version, it could be a fast workaround or see you a other solution?

Best Regards from germany
Willi
I can go back to the way it was. Without writing special code for it, the only other option is to make the pool's minimum diff 1 million and that's just not on. I'll roll it back tomorrow.
