401  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum sending 50,000 sats to random wallet on: April 18, 2024, 02:56:37 PM
I will simply create a new wallet without 2FA... this shit cost me 40$, without a pre-warning when setting up the 2FA. Feels like I got scammed.
You were warned about that extra fee when you were creating your 2FA wallet, but you probably didn't notice that.

As mentioned above by Zaguru12, you can disable 2FA, but note that you have already paid the trustedcoin fee for 19 more transactions and you may want to consider keeping 2FA enabled for some time.
I also want to add that electrum 2FA wallet is a 2 of 3 multi-signature wallet and the fee you have to pay to miners for making transactions from such wallet are higher than a single-signature wallet.
If you no longer want to have 2FA enabled for any reason, I suggest you create a new single-signature wallet and move all your fund to your new wallet.
402  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Does Armory 0.96.5 show the correct balance if only 1/3 of blockchain synced? on: April 18, 2024, 09:25:43 AM
You don't have download the blockchain, if you only want to know your balance. You can enter your address(es) in any block explorer and check their balance.

Here are some good block explorers.

To see the full list of your addresses, go to "Wallet Properties", select "Backup this wallet" and then "See other backup options". In the new window that will pop-up, select "Export key lists".
Your addresses start with 1. Be careful not to enter your private keys in block explorers mistakenly.

My fbc current daily rate is @ 0.01178082% calculated from 4.39% (https://i.ibb.co/BtYZkSH/annual-interest-rate.png) annually but no calculation explains me why:
0,0121944444=4,39/360
0,0120273973=4,39/365
0,0118648649=4,39/370
0,0117066667=4,39/375
Every result differs from the daily rate given to me currently..
Read my previous post please. It explains how the daily interest rate is calculated. Do you quote posts without reading them?

1 + yearly interest rate = (1+ daily interest rate)365

1 + 0.0439 = (1+ 0.0001178082)365
404  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum command lines on: April 17, 2024, 10:22:15 PM
Example. When I use the code, I went to i and I saw "ismine". This makes it not understandable as I was expecting ismine("your bitcoin address"). Also that is how other ones are. Is there not a way that I can get it like in my example like ismine("your bitcoin address")?
As far as I know, no.

I did not really understand what is in that link as I was looking for the one for ismine but I do not see it.
The link provided by Yamane_Keto can be helpful to understand how each of commands work, but that requires some python knowledge.

256 should mean the bits of entropy for 24 words BIP39 seed phrase generation.
It may worth mentioning that even using console, it's still impossible to generate a BIP39 seed phrase in electrum.

"help" is a function and it should be followed by parenthesis when you want to call it in python.
Use the following command in electrum console to get the full list of command lines.

Code:
help()

@hosseinimr93, you are too good in this kind of calculation. Do you have any idea about this strange calculation system of Freebitco interest rate?
You wouldn't get accurate result for daily interest rate by dividing the yearly interest rate by 365.
Take note that not only you get interest on your initial balance, but also you get interest on interest you have earned so far.

Assuming you have 1 BTC, you will earn 0.000109589 BTC on the day 1 and you will have 1.000109589 BTC at the end of that day. On the day 2, you will earn 0.000109601 BTC and you will have 1.00021919 at the end of that day. On the day 3, you will earn 0.000109613 BTC and so on.

At the end of the day 365, you will have 1 * (1.000109589)365 = 1.0408 BTC.

Since now two weeks my Premium Interest should be increased. After waiting 30 days 7.5% should there be active. But on Earn BTC tab is still just 4.7% to be seen.
No need to open a scam accusation thread.
I assume you are holding 125,000 tokens and that's why you expect to give 7.5% annual interest on your balance.
Take note that it's not that the interest rate is increased to 7.5% if you hold 125,000 tokens for 30 days.
The default interest rate is 4.08% and it should be increased by 7.5% after 30 days.
410  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Can I Recover a Mobile Wallet on Desktop Using 12-Word Phrases on: April 15, 2024, 08:03:10 PM
I am sorry but I do not seem to get this. Can you explain custom seed phrase and how to know if that is what a wallet uses?
I think Zaguru12 means a seed phrase that is not BIP39.

I now know that both Sparrow and Blue Wallet doesn't have a mobile version.
Bluewallet is available for mobile phones. It supports both android and IOS.

Now I know, I would have to use Electrum Bitcoin wallet for Android, Exodus wallet or any other reputable bitcoin mobile wallet.
Exodus is close-source and therefore it can't be called a reputable bitcoin wallet. There is no way to know how the keys are generated in Exodus.

Is this the address 1L1UduuGPZ8ttGe59F2w9tTEumQFhtxiuT where you sent the BTC or where the BTC came from?
None of them. That address is invalid.
OP changed the last letter of his address from R to T without knowing the new address is invalid and without knowing all bitcoin transactions are public.

haliscomert, as said by BitMaxz above, no one would believe your claim.

414  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: "Wallet -> Seed" option greyed out on: April 14, 2024, 07:19:04 PM
Curious why they don't support it.
Electrum doesn't generate BIP39 seed phrase, but it allows you to import a BIP39 seed phrase.

Below is the message displayed by electrum when importing a BIP39 seed phrase. That explains why electrum developers don't like BIP39 seed phrase and they use a different algorithm.

415  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Can I Recover a Mobile Wallet on Desktop Using 12-Word Phrases on: April 13, 2024, 07:13:19 PM
All your private keys can be derived from your seed phrase through some mathematical calculations and your seed phrase and the derivation path are all you need to get access to your bitcoin.
Since most wallets uses standard derivation paths, you usually don't need to know the derivation path and knowing the seed phrase is enough.

Some wallets like electrum which doesn't generate their seedphrase using the Bip39 standard, would require you to import the seed generated using electrum only into electrum wallet.
You are right about electrum seed phrase not being BIP39. Electrum uses its own algorithm for generating seed phrases, but it may worth mentioning that you can import the seed phrase generated by electrum into bluewallet.
416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? on: April 13, 2024, 06:59:46 PM
Electrum, bluewallet or sparrowwallet...as long as you are using a wallet that is open source and a non-custodial wallet are all equally secure wallets. But I think comparing them and assuming they have the same level of security as hardware wallets is not entirely accurate because hardware wallets will at least always be offline and that's what m akes it more valuable.
You can run electrum on an airgapped device and have the same security as a hardware wallet.

Without running a full node, the electrum wallet is non-custodial and uses hot storage for safeguarding Bitcoins.
You can use electrum as a cold storage and that has nothing to with whether you are running a full node or not.

Yeah obviously Electrum is a good wallet, no doubt about that, but it requires one to keep the app on a device such as a smartphone or a computer to run and use the wallet to make transactions, and any app that is stored on a device can be compromised and attacked by exploiters using malware, viruses, and other stuff that they use to steal people's funds.
Assuming you are using electrum as a hot wallet, you are right. Any online device is always prone to hacking.
But as I already said, you can use electrum on an airgapped device and be completely safe.

418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Received a payment with low fees, stuck already for 3,5 days now on: April 12, 2024, 07:09:06 PM
Just enable coin control, select the unconfirmed input, spend it by sending to yourself, and add a significant fee.
You can do the same thing by right-clicking on the unconfirmed transaction and selecting "Child pays for parent". There is no need to use coin control.

Doing CPFP in this way is easier for someone without technical knowledge and the other advantage is that the user would see the effective fee rate before broadcasting the child transaction and wouldn't have to calculate that manually.
419  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: "Wallet -> Seed" option greyed out on: April 12, 2024, 06:40:53 PM
Interesting. That sounds like a rabbit hole, as I originally created the wallet from a BIP39 seed. Perhaps there is something different about BIP39 I don't understand. And, maybe, Electrum takes a different approach than other wallets like Exodus.
If you have generated your seed phrase using electrum itself, it's not BIP39. Electrum uses the same wordlist as BIP39, but a different algorithm.
If you have generated your seed phrase somewhere else like exodus and imported it into electrum, your seed phrase is likely BIP39.

I suppose this is why my legacy Bitcoin UTXOs don't show up if I choose a Segwit wallet and visa versa.
If your seed phrase is BIP39, you are asked the derivation path and script type when importing your seed phrase.
If you have fund in the legacy wallet and you choose segwit when importing your seed phrase, you will see completely different addresses.

I'm trying to access some alts with the same seed.
For more security, I recommend you to use a separate wallet for your bitcoin and avoid importing your seed phrase into different softwares as much as possible.
The more softwares you import your seed phrase to, the more attack vectors you may open for hackers.
420  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Out of Date wallet and A question on: April 12, 2024, 06:29:17 PM
As already said by others, you can easily disable 2FA using your seed phrase.
I just want to add that electrum 2FA wallet is a 2 of 3 multi-signature wallet and it will be still a 2 of 3 multo-signature wallet after you disable 2FA. Since transactions made from a multi-signature wallet are more expensive in fees, you may want to consider creating a new single-signature wallet and move all your fund to that.
