1221  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Sparrow vs Electrum for desktop on: April 19, 2023, 09:21:20 AM
Example: I think, and I may be mistaken, that Electrum doesn't use BIP39 seed phrases, am I wrong?
Electrum doesn't generate a BIP39 seed phrase and uses its own algorithm when generating a seed phrase.
Of course, you can import a BIP39 seed phrase in electrum. To do so, just click on "Options" when entering your seed phrase and check "BIP39 seed".
1222  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Generating a 24 word seed with electrum on: April 19, 2023, 07:14:14 AM
In electrum we have 10 changed address while in blue wallet only have 1 changed address. So, why is different? I used the same electrum seed, and didn't change a single letter or word seed. And, how can add the change address on blue wallet?.
That's how bluewallet works. Whether you generate a wallet with bluewallet itself or you import an electrum's seed phrase, it displays only one change address. Once you use that change address, it will display the second one.
1223  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: "Multisig" for one person on: April 18, 2023, 07:48:29 PM
By passphrase you mean 13th or 25th word right ?
Yes, passphrase is known as 13th or 25th word as well.
It may worth mentioning that your passphrase doesn't have to be a word. Passphrase can be any combination of words and characters.
1224  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: "Multisig" for one person on: April 18, 2023, 06:56:56 PM
Yes actually, I wanted to say password instead of passphrase
Your addresses are derived from your seed phrase (+your passphrase, if there's any) and your password encrypts your wallet file locally.
If you lose your password and can't decrypt your wallet file, you can recover your wallet using your seed phrase (+your passphrase, if there's any).
1225  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: "Multisig" for one person on: April 18, 2023, 01:42:31 PM
If I have my seed phrase, could you confirm both key and passphrase are not compulsory to recover funds ?
If you add a passphrase to your seed phrase, you will need both seed phrase and passphrase to recover your wallet. If you lose either your seed phrase or your passphrase, you won't be able to recover your fund.
Note that if you extend your seed phrase with a passphrase, you will have completely different addresses.
1226  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: "Multisig" for one person on: April 18, 2023, 08:10:14 AM
As mentioned above by NotATether, your wallet wouldn't be multi-signature.
If you want to have a multi-signature wallet, you need multiple seed phrases. For example, if you create a 2 of 3 multi-signature wallet, you will have 3 seed phrases and you will need 2 of them for signing your transactions.
1227  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Generating a 24 word seed with electrum on: April 18, 2023, 07:46:34 AM
With using the command mentioned above by Charles-Tim, you create a 24 word legacy seed phrase. If you want to have a 24 word segwit seeed phrase, use the following command.

Code:
make_seed(256)

What will be the difference between option 1 and 2 ?
With iancoleman, you generate a BIP39 seed phrase while electrum uses its own algorithm.
As iancoleman uses JavaScript for generating the entropy, using electrum for generating your seed phrase is a much better option.

the winner indeed has very high chance of winning as he got 7021 tickets as compared to the total collected tickets - 24331. so he had about 29% of all the tickets.
Where did you get the 24331 from?
The total number of tickets was 1,865,694 and the chance of winning the lambo for him/her was only around 0.38%
1229  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Which nodes and miners accept transactions fees below 1 sats/vbyte? on: April 17, 2023, 07:56:14 PM
The purpose is not to lose sats on transactions.
You have to set the fee rate to 1 sat/vbyte or more and pay the transaction fee. Miners include transactions with zero fee only if that's their own transaction.
Unless you are a miner (or you own a mining pool), there's no way to make such a transaction.
1230  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Which nodes and miners accept transactions fees below 1 sats/vbyte? on: April 17, 2023, 03:46:14 PM
even if you might try to test it after 72 hours if the memory pool doesn’t comes below the 1sat/vbytes then your transaction won’t be mined could be reversed
Wrong. There is no rule saying a transaction would be dropped from the mempool after 72 hours.
Note that a transaction with the fee rate of less than 1 sat/vbyte is considered as a non-standard transaction and would be rejected by the nodes. Therefore, if you make such a transaction, it can't enter the mempool of nodes at all.

This means that there are a lot of people who are interested in this and I am not even sure if this is the peak. Maybe thequin could shine a light on it, what was the average on other ones before this?
I just downloaded the tickets list of previous rounds. Below are the number of participants in each of the rounds.

1232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Opening old wallet, sync Bitcoin Core first or import first and sync after? on: April 16, 2023, 08:30:33 PM
The second scenario makes it possible to load the wallet offline. Sync first, unplug your internet, open your wallet, wait a bit. Keep it offline for safety.
Take note that with disconnecting your computer from internet when opening your wallet, you don't really make your wallet more secure.
If you want to have an offline wallet, you should create your wallet on a computer that is always offline. You should have an offline device for generating your wallet and singning transactions and an online device for creating unsigned transaction and broadcasting your transaction.

and as for WOF specifically, are the spins also received by e-mail or are they available on the website?
For playing the WOF spins you get for holding FUN tokens (premium membership), you don't need to check your email at all.
You will see a message saying "You have X free WOF spins. Play them here." on the website

After clicking on the provided link, you will be able to either play your spins one by one or play all of them with a single click.
1234  Other / Meta / Re: I can not update a post. on: April 15, 2023, 11:34:34 PM
Anyone, above can try if its still the same on your end?
I think you missed the post I made above.
I tried to edit an old post and got the same error as Royse777. After a few minutes, I tried it again and could edit that post successfully. So, you are right. It seems that there was a temporary issue and there is no problem now.
1235  Other / Meta / Re: I can not update a post. on: April 15, 2023, 10:21:11 PM
I edited a post made in 2019 successfully and got the same error when trying to edit a post made in 2017.

Update:
I tried again and could edit the post I had made in 2017. It seems that there is no issue anymore.

Thank you for the reply. I downloaded the list from this tweet and found out that I had 1 GT.  Grin
Although it was still a possibility but the actual winner obviously deserved it more since he had 7k GT.
Sorry. As you said "the previous round" and the tickets list for round 8 had been already shared by TheQuin, I thought you were referring to the round 7.
The last round (in which someone with around 7000 tickets won the lambo) was round 8. If you want to see round 8 tickets list, just scroll up. The list has been already shared by TheQuin.

It's interesting who of us here in this thread had the largest amount of tickets, and who won the Lambo?
Someone with 7,021 tickets won the lambo.

Is there any way to check how many GT I had in the previous round ?
Click here. Download round 7 tickets list and find your user ID.

Edit: I thought by previous round you mean round 7. To see round 8 tickets list, just scroll up and download the file shared by TheQuin.

1239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: separate phone for safety reasons? on: April 14, 2023, 10:15:06 PM
If you want to be completely secure, your separate device should be airgapped. In this way, you can be sure that there wouldn't be any way for hackers to get access to your wallet. Otherwise, your wallet would be always prone to hacking. Also make sure that you use a open-source trustworthy wallet which gives you full access to your keys.
In the case you can't have an air-gapped device for any reason, you can consider using a hardware wallet.
